» Appearance Written: While being from a wealthy family of musicians, Yuzuru does not dress himself in fancy clothes, nor does he associate himself too much with flashy or gaudy things. As such, most of the time Yuzuru and his six foot four frame are decked out in rather traditional or very simple clothing which ranges from his academy uniform, to t-shirts and sweat pants. His dark brown hair is usually styled to keep the hair out of his eyes and to perfectly frame his cold, almost uncaring steel blue eyes. He tends to be in rather fit shape and it is clear that he takes good care of himself through proper diet and exercise. He has no scars, nor does he seem to have any blemishes of any kind on his skin to speak of which could be attributed to the life his parents have made him live up until this point.

Usually Yuzuru can be seen carrying his practice sword for his studies within the academy and a guitar for his studies after he is finished the day with his school work. The guitar is nothing flashy, but is extremely well kept, almost to an OCD level of maintenance. The practice sword is the same as well, constantly sharp, and even the scabbard is waxed and shined to the point that someone that glanced at it would probably see their reflection in it. Going back to the clothes that he usually wears, those clothes are usually kept unnaturally clean, and tidy through an almost absurd level of dedication to show commitment to maintaining some sort of image of professionalism. This has earned him a sort of image of being extremely "dedicated" to those that seem to glance over at him.

» Personality: To those that don't know the Heir of the Satoshi family, they would assume that he is probably one of the most unapproachable individuals in the entire academy. A man who's eyes alone would send shivers down the spines of those that were caught in their gaze, but Yuzuru is not entirely unapproachable. In fact, if approached with the right topic of conversation, they might just find that they could not shut the Cold Hearted Musician up, but most of the time he finds himself being mildly annoyed to too shy to hold a conversation with an individual. Having lived a mostly sheltered life and in that same respect also living in the shadow of his family's legacy, Yuzuru doesn't really know the proper way to react to poking and prodding about his family. In fact, when asked any question about his father or mother, Yuzuru tends to give them the famous glare, and retreat into himself as quickly as possible.

However, when approached by the prospect of talking about music or school work in any regard, Yuzuru tends to be a much more sociable person, and will discuss things till the conversation is closed. This suggests that at least at some level there is a mild resentment to his family, but there is a clear cut passion in what he is trying to accomplish in not only the field of music, but also in his attempt to become a shinigami. This passion also shows through his dedication to keep his personal belongings tied to his career paths in tip-top condition through any means possible. To those that he knows the moniker of "Cold Hearted Musician" does not fit either. He is a kind man, but doesn't outwardly show it all the time. Sometimes he can be kind to the point of offering scathing advice with the intent to help, but quickly find himself going a bit too far and hurting the person he is trying to help's feelings.

He tends to hum songs he knows to himself, this also sometimes is misheard as him grumbling, or growling while walking through the halls. Mostly the nickname that the students at the academy have given him is due to misunderstanding or from spread rumors by those that tend to not like him too much. He tends to have enemies as he seems to be a natural type of "eye candy" for the female eye as he appears to be stoic on top of coming from a famous family and also having the musical talent and skill to join the Shin'o Academy proper doesn't help things either. He tends to be shunned by most of the male student body and slandered by them as well, not that he cares what anyone thinks about him, and the path he walks. This gives him a bit of an air of being stuck up, but those that get to know him will quickly realize that he is just a strongly driven individual that doesn't have much time to care about rumors or gossip.



» History: Born to a family of wealthy musicians, Yuzuru was, for better or worse, named the heir of the Satoshi family from the moment he showed any talent with music. His father, Kazemaru Satoshi, was a self-made millionaire who had made his fortunes by composing a litany of well received songs to the upper class and the nobility proper. He had ground his way from nothing and worked till he had nothing left to give to pull himself out of poverty and rise the ranks into fame and fortune. By doing so Kazemaru had met Yuzuru's mother, Janessa, a lounge singer who loved to sing to the backdrop of his musical compositions, and the two of them married shortly after creating a union of like minded individuals. Both of them were highly driven individuals and quickly decided that the best way to make sure their legacy was kept intact for the years that followed was for them to quickly conceive a child. That child was Hajime, Yuzuru's older brother, and someone who should have been named heir instead of him.

Sadly, Hajime just wasn't gifted in the musical arts, and no matter how many instructors were thrown at him he was never truly capable of impressing the Satoshi family patriarch and matriarch. As such he was branded defective by his family and treated like an outsider for most of his young life. This, however was before Yuzuru was born, and by the time Yuzuru was born Hajime was already twelve years his senior. Hajime held no resentment over Yuzuru being the new "project" and loved his brother with all of his heart, something that Yuzuru as he grew older returned in kind. The two of them grew thick as thieves, but as the two of them grew older they saw less of each other with each passing day. This was due in part to the heads of the house wanting to split the two up and also because Yuzuru was that gifted with music. No matter, the instructor, no matter the subject matter, and no matter the instrument he would easily learn, and pick up on anything that they wished for him to be educated on.

At first he did this to please his father and mother, but over time he began to enjoy the pursuit of making beautiful music just as much as his father had when he had first started out. Still, as a young child with nothing outside of music to keep him company, he still longed for interaction with others, and to go see the outside world. This was of course shut off to him, as his father feared that by allowing him to interact with "unworthy" or "unclean" sorts outside of the compounds walls would corrupt his mind and ruin him. Years passed and bled into each other as the only things Yuzuru was allowed to do was compose, study, and compose some more. By the time Yuzuru had reached his teenage years he was far and away a prodigy and a future superstar in the music world in the making, but that didn't interest him as much as what his brother Hajime was up to. For his brother, even though the two were separated most of the time, would come by, and visit him irregularly. Hajime became Yuzuru's link to the outside world and the outside world that Hajime painted with his words mostly spoke of one place:

Shin'o Academy.

While he had been forced away, Hajime had decided to become a shinigami, and make something of himself, something that Yuzuru deeply admired, and found himself hanging on to every word that Hajime would speak about the academy life he was living. This fascination with the academy and the shinigami helped him create new and exciting melodies and music that his parents couldn't quite grasp where the inspiration had come from. Realizing that his music seemed to improve with thoughts of academy life and the potential of becoming a shinigami, Yuzuru decided to ask his parents if he too could attend the academy and live that life in the future. They quickly declined his pleas and told him to get those silly ideas out of his head, furthermore they barred Hajime from entering the compound as they believed he was a "bad" influence on their rising star. However, Yuzuru made a promise with Hajime that eventually, no matter what it cost, he would go to the academy, and the two of them would patrol the Rukongai as the "Satoshi Brothers". It brought a smile to Hajime's face and he told him he would hold him to that promise.

Many years passed with the brothers not speaking to one another or even seeing each other, but the promise still hung in the air for Yuzuru, and he would be damned if he would not see that promise fulfilled. He would study music and continue to work with his instructors, but in private he would train his body through workout and proper dieting. He asked for a proper physical trainer and his parents didn't seem to mind giving him one as after all it was extremely important to keep in good health. He would continue to press his parents on going to the academy and after a while that pressing led to some caving in and one day they finally relented after certain circumstances were brought to light. However, Yuzuru would have to pull double duty, and as such would need to study music while also studying the shinigami arts. Something that he gladly accepted as he would get to fulfill his promise in some regard at the least. It would difficult, but Yuzuru was sure that he could accomplish his goals, just as long as he showed the same dedication to his shinigami training as he did to his musical studies.

» Equipment:

Favorite Guitar: A gift from his brother and something that he cherishes deeply. It is well maintained and is almost always on his person unless he is going into high risk situations, in that case it tends to be left at home for safe keeping. It is a deep red in color and has a single mark on it that is an engraving that reads: "Satoshi Brothers" in kanji.

Practice Sword: Standard issue academy sword that is handed over to every new enrollment. The sword is extremely well maintained.



» Racial Abilities:

Rhythm and Tempo Mimicry: A lesson picked up from his time spent studying music is something that he has translated over to his studies as a shinigami. By viewing and watching other's perform techniques and utilize styles within combat, Yuzuru can imitate them down to the how they breathe, and how they move on the battlefield. It takes time for him to be able to do this and isn't necessarily an instantaneous acquisition, but once learned, and memorized he can utilize physical abilities as if the original user was using them. Not necessarily to the same scale or power, but to the same level of understanding and conceptualization. This does not work on energy based techniques and furthermore requires sight of the action being performed multiple times before acquisition can even become a reality. There are also the rules of physical limitations and if an ability has some sort of abnormality associated with it then the copy would be imperfect and unable to be replicated.

Above Average Physical Tools: Due to dieting, work out, and routines planned by a work out guru, Yuzuru is above average in most respects in a physical manner of speaking. However, he is not overly specialized in one aspect or the other, and has a typically broad spectrum of physical tools at his disposal. This doesn't aid him in dealing with specialists, but gives him a good foundational set of skills to work on and branch out from.
