Oath Under Snow [Abalia, Gamu]

Waking had not been pleasant. Nor had saying farewell to the man who had cared for her for the last two decades. Most would not have been prepared to already begin working so quickly after a procedure of this caliber, but it hardly mattered to Abalia. The weight of sudden emotion, the strain on both her body and her spirit, none of that especially mattered.

The first order of business, of course, was to arrange for a formal burial for Roman. The second was to send for her children, that she might see them knowing this array of experiences which had not before touched her heart. Despite the memories of her life which had been given by that fragmented half of her, Abalia did not wish to return to Earth yet. If anything, she hardly felt any desire at all.

How distressing.

"Gamu. How long until my spirit is fully acclimated to my body?"

There were other questions Abalia had, in truth. For a moment, she thought better than to ask them directly, but that was quickly cast aside. This was no time for prudence.

"I expect my own spiritual limitations will likely rise with this change, yes?"

"Abby! You ask so many questions! You're like a labile little kitten with all anticipation for new doors open to you."

She cheered from her seated position while she was bending her fingers in ways that they should not physically be able to bend. It would almost make most people recoil with disgust or feel disturbed by the sight of her digits being twisted on themselves and then snapping back to their proper shape.

"Hmm? I suppose you are correct, you'll probably find your spiritual capacity increasing now that you're whole. You smell so much sweeter now too, who knew that's where all the sugar in your soul was tucked away teehee."

Now how did she touch upon her adoring alpha's worries. Oh! She knew.

"Maybe if you kiss me it'll help."

She said it teasingly, worth a shot right? While it was said that way though, Abalia ought to know that Gamu did have a way of doing trivial things with serious interventions and the shape of a gummy sticking out of her mouth while she stared at Abalia told her exactly what she wanted to convey.

What kind of creature was her adorable captain like now when she had feelings mixed in there?

"Anticipation is not what I would call it. It is simply acceptance of the situation. I am the Captain Commander. It is my responsibility to do everything that I am able for the Gotei."

Of course, Abalia now had to contend with ideas of hesitation. Lack of desire. There was a sense that perhaps she did not need to do such things, but that only disgusted her. What a headache all of this was, and all of it compounded with the grief that still filled her heart.

What a question Gamu posited to her. Perhaps she ought to have simply told her no and left it at that. But, ultimately, there was a sense that she ought to thank the Captain for all that she had done.

So Abalia kissed her. It was hardly romantic, not even what one could call particularly affectionate. But a brief meeting of their lips was a suitable thanks.

"I don't believe that has helped."

The captain was quite ecstatic about the kiss but also left still sitting with the gummy in her mouth which was intended for Abalia and she contemplated about testing her luck with another but she was feeling like she enjoyed the nice thing they had going here and instead just pulled another out to throw it at her.

"It's okay. It was for me... That's for you."

Despite the abnormal way her confectionary was usually some kind of supernatural drug this wasn't anything special. It was placebo at best but it's not like she indicated any other way.

"Anyway, do a smile. A nice big one. Force it if you want to try and coax it along but everyone's different and things take time so try and think of something fun to do while we do your post obs... We could go on a date together if you want in the meantime!

"Thank you."

That was all Abalia said as she accepted the candy from Gamu, and she ate the candy with no particular hesitation. After all, she had no fear of a woman who respected her to this degree. The mention of something such as a "date" did, however, give her the briefest pause. A date? No, that sounded unpleasant.

Unpleasant?

Strange.

"No, thank you. I think that implies a fair bit more than I am willing to imply. You and I may yet spend time together, of course, but I would not deign to call it a 'date.'"

"Fiiine. It's not a date."

She assured with a cheerful grin that just radiated her enthusiasm. Maybe she could win her over with her new feelings and work her up so much to get her sloppy with uncontrolled desire for her and no one else! Hehe, not that it was a date or anything.

"So are we going shopping or out to eat together? I'm so hungry and you're probably hungry too! Let's go get food."

Gamu was always hungry. It was no suprise that her infinite emptiness could not be filled by calories or mass, the feeling of gluttony was eternal for a shinigami that was made out of hollows like some awful frankenstein.

"So what are you in the mood for? Meat right or... fish... or veggies.. No no, candy right? I got it, didn't I?"
