Hazy Moon [Fuuen, Gamu]

Though Fuuen had come to the Gotei United with the intention of recovering his memories, the indigo-haired swordsman had found that little had changed. His skill with the blade continued to improve, in ways which he felt must surely have been a matter of memory rather than recent training. Yet, even so, he still forgot many things quite frequently. Were it not for the notebook he carried on his person, he doubted he still would even have remembered the existence of Elyss. That was, in his eyes, a rather grave matter, and even so much as turning the page to try and draw her anew led to nothing more than empty lines.

So, as it was, he had made a specialized appointment with the Captain of the Research Division. Well, perhaps that was not as accurate. He had, rather, simply looked into those who would be most capable of assisting him in his ailment, and while the Medical Division had seemed most prudent, it seemed as though the Research Division was rather interested in his condition.

Knocking on the door to the Captain's office, Fuuen simply waited for whatever response he might be met with. He had heard more than a handful of rumors regarding this division, but ultimately, the status of his own memory was more important.

A little click there, clank and schlack. Sloshing too. Honestly the sounds she heard would probably be disconcerting to anyone that didn't exist in the Third Division for their place of work. It was just another morning for her when she was disturbed by some random and the tired looking pinkette with all the purple goo over her peeked out of the door and stared at him thoughtfully. She wasn't actually tired, she just looked tired. Very important distinction here.

"What?"

No kind of formality, straight to the point. If there was an appointment she had clearly distinguished it as being pretty irrelevant and unimportant compared to whatever she did herself. It made her stare at him like she was waiting for his response with no indication as to what was going on in the room to have her face and bare shoulders smeared with purple muk.

"Don't waste my time, I don't have all day and I'm real hungry."

"Ah... Apologies. I had been told to meet with you about a concern relating to my memory. There has been little information I have been able to gain from the medical experts I have spoken with prior, and I was told by members of your division that you may have some interest or knowledge with regard to this sort of matter."

In truth, Fuuen had little idea of his own condition beyond his lack of memory, and he had to wonder if this was actually worth the effort of approaching a woman who was so clearly...well, hostile. Still, he supposed there was little he had to aim for beyond this. It would be worth the effort to simply bear the discomfort of this interaction for now.

"To move directly to the point, my memory is entirely inconsistent, though all medical tests have shown there is nothing wrong with my mind. I believe it to be some sort of spiritual matter, though I have no evidence with regard to this."

"JULIAN- Oh wait... He's gone isn't he?"

Gamu called for her good boy of a vice-captain to explain what was going on here before it slipped back into her mind that he was gone on an assignment. Honestly, the nerve of him. If it wasn't for the fact that it was for Ah-ba-lee-ah then she should've just ate him on the spot. Didn't he understand how annoying it was when she needed to carry her own candy on her person without her little dispenser?

"Ahahaha. Spiritual matter, huh? Well, I guess I can have a wittle peek in you. What do you taste like anyway- ah nevermind. Answering that's probably not good hehehe."

There was a particular perkiness and bubbly aura about her, jumping from one thing to another while she pulled away from the door and let it fully open into the recess of the wall and reveal her pulling back on her dirty captain's haori and the various pools of ooze everywhere with the centrepiece of the room being a big cauldron. It smelt of sugar that was being cooked beyond burning point in the room.

"Oh wait, I'm using this room for something already. Hehe, let's go somewhere else Mr. forget-me-not."

How could someone as ditzy like this be harmful? Nothing dangerous here about this piece of work.

There was nothing in this situation which even remotely suggested to Fuuen that following after this woman was a particularly good idea. In fact, there was a rather significant part of his instinct which told him that it would be best simply to leave now, and were it not for the fact that this matter concerned more than simply himself, he likely would have done exactly that.

Instead, he simply followed the Captain as she led the way, though he certainly did not enjoy this whole place. It reeked not only of burnt sugar, but of unrefined malice. He did not much care for it, as a peaceful man, but he supposed that one did what was necessary for the sake of aid in a time like this.

"Of course, Captain. I will naturally offer any further information that I may."

Despite his cool demeanor, Fuuen still could not help but stay at least marginally on the defensive. This woman was quite obviously a threat, her cheer something he could scarcely even begin to treat as a legitimate indicator of how he ought to consider her.

The looming figure of the bubblegum woman tilted her head, and opened her arms openly. Graciously acknowledging his words, or it was just an empty action that she did for quirkiness. Both were equally valid options really. It still left her wondering what to do about it, she should probably begin by analysing his spiritual composition. Did he want a full assessment? Blugh, Abby's took hours and had her under for it. Did this guy just think she had that kind of time laying around?

She sure did.

"Hehe, didn't you just say your memory's bad. I'll save myself the trouble and just do it you little goofball."

His behaviour, how he felt about the situation and everything else. It didn't matter. In this place Gamu was the supreme predator, only next to her Abby. It was almost cute to sense it, she didn't really get people but if she did get one thing it was animalistic behaviour and instinct and his reservations really just got her so happy inside! It meant people knew their place on the foodchain.

"This will do."

She gave a small flick to the door and made it open, the familiar room which was the same one that she got thoroughly broken in the last time she did some tests to a person's soul. How exciting, unfortunately she didn't think he'd be able to achieve the same affect but that was the beauty of it. Only one person could evoke those feelings.

"Strip down and lay down like a good man, don't forget where you left them either."

Unpleasant. Thoroughly, absolutely unpleasant. Fuuen certainly would not say that he feared the woman, though perhaps that was more a consequence of his general detachment from things. He didn't fear much of anything, so even this decided threat was little more than something to acknowledge and take into consideration.

"Very well."

Removing his clothing did not take much time at all, mostly on account of its relative simplicity and his simple familiarity with it. After all, he did not own a particularly wide array of clothing, and setting his sword aside with the discarded attire, Fuuen laid down knowing fully that he was putting a great deal at risk in doing so.

"Hey, don't stress. 'kay? I don't bite... Ahaha, I shouldn't lie like that though, huh? Let's be honest from this point on, right? Right."

Speaking to herself moreso than anyone else in the room, she quickly got to work- Aha. She almost skipped a step, the part where he was knocked out. Now wouldn't that make him squirm and sweat? She sure hoped it would.

"Riiiight. I forgot you also need to go nighty night, can't run medical tests on you while you're awake. I mean, that's so unnerving to the patient, right?"

Maybe for her it was the opposite, at least a person could be aware of what she was doing when they were conscious. Who was to say you even got woken up after she put you down, bubblegum's promise though. He'd wake up, it's not like he'd done anything to provoke her yet and it'd be a real shame if he did because unlike that other runt who called himself a Captain or her darling Abby, he was just a nobody that could disappear.

Ahaha but that's neither here nor there. The captain's verdict was followed by a gummy looking thing dangling over Fuuen's mouth while she gave him a big grin from above. Completely trustworthy and reassuring in her eyes that did nothing to conceal her true nature underneath her smiles and eccentric attitude.

The fear of death, in this moment, was something Fuuen felt rather tremendously blessed not to hold in his heart, given how undeniably close to it he actually was. He had heard rumor that the Gotei's Captains were overwhelmingly people who ought not be dealt with unless absolutely necessary, but it seemed this was only proving that absolutely true. Still, he had no other recourse, no matter how little he trusted her.

Though he felt not the remotest degree of reassurance from her smile, Fuuen simply accepted the gummy from Gamu with little hesitation, if only because he knew that to not accept it would likely make this whole situation rather exponentially worse for him. Better to simply have all of this handled quickly, so that they could move past this.

Good dog, eating his treat like he ought to. It left her free to work without the need to consider him as a factor beyong the piece of spiritual mass that his body was. Just an object to analyse and understand. When she dug right into it, she pouted. Why was he still a plus? Was this guy for real? Gamu really got confused on that, why was there just a dumb plus in the Gotei? It really got her baffled that they let guys like this in, the place must've got desperate after the invasion a couple of years back.

After a couple of hours she was done and waited for him to wake up, it was important that you try and make your patient wake up comfortably and in a therapeutic environment after the amount of stress and pressure being on an anasthetic entailed. Unfortunately Gamu didn't care about that and she had opted get out of the icky clothes at some point and toss them in a pile - on him for the record - which made that gross burnt sugar smell just cling to his body.

As for her, she was sitting on her desk while holding his sword and staring at it thoughtfully until he decided to join her back in the world of the awake. How particular this guy was, he was lucky he had that going for him and he turned out to be an interesting enigma and thought experiment but she would've been done with him ages ago if not for that.
