The small demon merely remained in the position she was in, her gaze stuck to the colorful, fleeting sky as Algos went about her shrinking and desperation to relive better, easier times. She was silent as Algos spilled her newest line of begging and pleading, still refusing to believe she was to pass, still wanting some way, some possible way to save her older sibling of an ancient age. Pseudologoi was as silent and still as a corpse, though when Algos began clinging to her so tightly, begging her not to go, speaking of how much she loved her, the dull gaze of the demon hardened, biting her lip to the point a golden fluid starting leaking out, bleeding down her chin as that stubborn knot in her core tightened with grief and guilt.
Her head snapped towards Algos, fangs bared as her voice suddenly rung out,
"DO YOU THINK I WANT TO JUST SIT HERE AND DIE, ALGOS?!"
Something was strange about her tone; Typically when she yelled it was full of confidence, malice, venom, but this time...
It was wracked with despair and desperation. Her typically controlled and focused façade slipped, spiraling into pure emotion as she let loose a torrent of emotion she rarely let show,
"Do you truly think I haven't tried to sustain my existence!? I may welcome death when it is at my door, but I don't run towards it!"
Her teeth clenched so hard together that it was surprising they didn't shatter, her eyes squeezed shut as she looked away,
"You're so desperate for a solution to this, well i'm going to tell you right now; There is no viable solution. Do you want to know why?"
Her voice lessened in intensity, fluttering down into weakness and fragility, as soon the youthful looking being would turn back to Algos.
Her irises had turned a stark yellow, standing out amongst the blood red of her eyes, as golden tears rolled down her cheeks, a mix of agony, despair, and hopelessness in her gaze; emotions she typically wouldn't dare to present to another soul,
"Because you would have to kill Calypso if you wanted to save me."
Her breath shook as she uttered the raw truth to the younger of the two, "We are two beings occupying one soul; One of us eventually would get snuffed out by the growth of the other. She's robbed my power from the moment she was created, without her knowing of course.."
Her eyes were so full of sorrow as she stared at Algos,
"I couldn't do that to her. I couldn't smother her out. I wanted her to live, even if it meant I would someday be gone. We can't exist at the same time for long."
More tears came from her eyes as her breath hitched,
"How do you think I feel, Algos? How I have felt? To be locked at the depths of her consciousness, unable to help her as she was born into the world? To have to watch what she had to go through? I've felt such despair with telling her to go to the Endless Soul Plane - I didn't think she would get trapped in another realm for a perceived number of decades..!"
Pseudologoi's hand pressed against her cheek as she sobbed for a moment,
"How do you think I feel, unable to see and play with your children? They'll never know me as I am. Unable to truly reconnect with my family, unable to help my own sisters through their pain, unable to see out Calypso's life, to see her succeed, to see her love blossom and become more."
Her head lowered as she sobbed so dearly,
".. Power has no bearing on whether or not you will face tragedy, Algos. I was a powerful goddess, however I wasn't able to save my son. Slaughtering an army didn't bring him back."
She slowly shook her head, "..The greatest of tragedies i've faced were crafted by my hand, the first one being the last thing I said to all of you before you left... 'I don't need you'."
She winced when she said such words, laughing painfully, "Even as the embodiment of lies, that is perhaps one of the ugliest untruths i've ever told.."
Her small hands slowly reached to touch Algos' cheeks,
"I'm sorry Algos, you'll soon have to face another tragedy. I love you dearly."
