There was no hesitation in the demon's movements. She approached the palace she had many times taken silent refuge in as a child, such an empty large pillar housing the wicked Queen of Demon World's grand kingdom, her mother, Mana Asthavon. Though many feared her, and plenty good reason to, even she herself feared her.

But.. That fear, that resentment was replaced with a deep sympathy. Unfortunate event after unfortunate event, hurt soul after hurt soul... It was almost cyclic - like these things would keep happening over, and over, and over...

Calypso wished above all, to be the very last one taken by her family's curse of madness. She knew her mind was not well, but she refused to succumb to the trappings woven by her ill mind - They were there, but she would not fall into line and suffer, slowly rotting until she was nothing but a cold, cruel being. She had people she loved, a world to change. She could not become that what she wished to aid.

No hesitation, no stopping, as she went through door after door, hallway after hallway. She knew her mother was here, a stern expression on her face as she navigated through the dreaded halls, until she sensed the screaming presence of her mother's immense power behind a door.

I have to talk to her.

She threw the door open with no hesitation, standing in the doorway, as she peered inside of the room. Her eyes gleamed the massive array of dark figures in the room, most laying at the woman's feet, some clinging to her helplessly..

"Hello, mother. We have something to discuss."

Slithering in the abyss, Mana was found laying in a pool of darkness as she allowed her endless existence to spiral on throughout her room into a cool body of water to drown her strain. Such colossal power, influence, strength, and insanity were attached to the depths of her soul like a withering supernova ready to decay the universe within herself and the world outside of it.

As her emerald green eyes opened to the world around her, the woman understood rather well that notions of the greatest highs in the cosmos had their beginnings and endings. Baring that notion in mind, the ghost skinned woman emerged from the abyss to face her own kin face to face. As it is in her children, family, and followers of her rule where her grand influence could live on forever. Regardless of what happens, The Queen understood she was at a place where she almost wasn't needed and she could feel that impulsion of comprehension burning in the heart of her daughter from the bond they shared.

"Aye, s'ugah, ya can't fool me. My blood flows in your pain, so I know why ya here."

Still, despite her drab surroundings, the woman gave her usual catty banter as she embraced her daughter in a long, warm hug. While moving her bony fingers through her kins snow-white hair, the woman wondered how many of these moments in time they could share as the beings they are now. Despite her soul being as black as a heat-dead universe, there was still slithers of familiarity, connection and longing to adore her family the way they deserved in her mind. As beyond the madness of her psyche, this pulse of a mother sustained itself and served to make her will all the more stronger to maintain the stability of her being.

"Ya' look more fucked up than a hookah' who just got out of a fight with her pimp. Just sit with ya mother as ya are safe here~"

Of course, with her strength, it was easy to pull Calypso in and sit on a soft cloud of black energy as the ceiling above had many glistening stars begin to light the void.

"And to be clear: I certainly ain't talkin' about ya physical body, dearie~ Ya soul stinks worse than a dead angel's asshole. So speak to be mama and I'll make it bettah'"

Calypso felt the hundreds of presences, as well as watching her mother arise, speak, and walk over to her to pull her into a close hug. She felt no resistance or hesitation towards accepting such tender touches, reaching out and hugging her mother back with no second thought. She had cried over the others so much, she was becoming tired in her readjustment to normal life, feeling as if she had simply run out of tears to shed for the moment. Despite this, it was so very clear:

Calypso did miss her mother, dearly.

No matter how many hallucinations ravaged her mind, delusions tainted her thoughts, intrusive words spun her perception, her mother never cropped up as a negative figure. She no longer feared her, or angered over her abandonment - Rather she felt peace in her embrace. By no means did her current feelings of comfort justify the woman's past actions, but she had learned to find comfort in her.

Hearing her words and feeling her leading her onto the bed of dark clouds, she sat next to her mother, head lowered as she tried to collect her words, though her mother's sentence, regarding that she'd be able to make it better, stirred something in her. Her hands met her face, a gentle whimper in her throat,

"... You can't make it better. Nobody can. It's impossible - It's been done."

There was a waver in her voice, but not too long after speaking, a disjointed, anxious chuckle could be heard from her as her shoulders twitched upward with every laugh, "All I can do is cope with the results. I was trapped in that place for so, so long..."

She saw shadowy figures at her feet, wordlessly grasping at her legs, not that they could truly touch or grab her. Her time in the Nether will be a permanent scar on her psyche, this was simply a fact, one she accepted, one she wasn't willing to bend and die to.

"I almost lost my mind countless times in that place.. I call it the Nether... I had ended up in there by mistake..." She pressed two fingers to pinch her nosebridge, laughing, "Who am I kidding? I did lose my mind in there. Jackassed right off the edge."

She sighed, kicking her feet, "Enough about my dumbass issues... I came here because I know you've got some shit chipping away at what you have left up here," She gestured to her temple, "..How bad is it now, mom? Is it going to get worse?"

"Blah, blah, blah. I've been through this a billion times, dearie. State something is impossible n' I'll shatter those delusions."

Really, Mana's eyes rolled out of their sockets at the notion of her being unable to help in any form or passion. Sure, she couldn't just erase the trauma, but Ol' Batty Bitch here was confident in her capacity to help ease the pains. Thus, for now, her gem green eyes kept their sights on Calyspo's visage as she started speaking of being trapped in the nether for so long. Losing her mind, pleading to her mother for help, and feeling her life crumbling to nothing made The Queen flick her nose as a smell smirk came to her pale-skinned lips.

"It'll get worse, toots. But, the madness can be ya' friend if ya allow it. I can tell ya mind won't ever be the same, so use the pain to make ya' even better than before~"

With a roll of her wrist, the woman moved forward and pressed her face against Calypso's as a shit-eating grin bled across her face.

"What? Ya saw how deep the rabbit hole went? Good. Use that as fuel to make you a badass bitch that isn't phased by earthly concerns. I've fallen down the abyss of maddening realms before, so it'll sting for a while, but ya will be alright with due time."

Wriggling her nose, Mana then had her own emerald essence begin to dance around them both as it sought to ease some of the madness flowing in her daughter's body. Sure, it couldn't take it all away, but some help was better than nothing, eh? Plus, Ol' Mommy got a nice bit of lunch to devour some of her cute little kid's pain. That wasn't her sole motive, of course, but it was a nice perk.

"So tell me: how worse do ya want it to get? It's ultimately up to you. Ya can be by your mother's side as long as ya want, but if ya allow it to win, ya won't get anywhere."

Calypso only gave her mother a pitiful side glance at her as she waved off her claims of impossibility. She didn't really have a response or a thought, only looked at her as she softly blinked. She barely reacted to the nose flick, as if she wasn't quite all there for a moment, blinking multiple times afterwards as she silently listened to her mother rock and ramble. She looked less worried, and more just heeding of her mother's words,

"..I mean, that was the plan. I didn't get out of there by getting swallowed by my own mind's demons."

Her tone was oddly flat and calm, as if she had that idea firm in her mind already. However, the woman couldn't help but laugh at the idea of 'being alright' again, "Me? Alright? I don't think I can ever describe myself as 'alright' ever again. I don't feel 'alright', but I also don't feel 'not alright'."

Even with her mother's attempt at taking a chew of her daughter's madness, Calypso's expression didn't change much, her eyes looking a bit glazed and unfocused, exhausted by merely thinking of what happened, tilting her head to and fro. But no matter how much she'd rather not, those events were burned into her brain - 30 years worth of torture freshly stuck in her mind.

"I don't know if it's going to get worse or better. I've just been trying to keep myself focused outside of myself. Because anytime I think deeply into myself... I get lost. I don't want to be lost, I want to be functional, and working."

She was bending her fingers around mindlessly, most positions being in a way a finger should not bend, "The more I think about myself, the more it takes me for a trip. A bad trip, or a good trip, it's random. I don't know... It just happens, when it wants to happen."

Mmmmmmmmmm~ Her head was every which way but right. Twas a damn shame to see her daughter in this state, but at the same time it wasn't anything that couldn't be worked on overtime. They were a family that thrived in the essence of madness. To be dismayed that tragedy finds itself thrown on their lap would be almost silly not to expect with the foulness which is attracted to this kinship. Still, a mother wanted to protect her loved one, so she'd merely pat the head of her child before carrying on with some good ol' mama, daughter time.

"We all are lost in some way or another in this world, dearie. Ya have the choice to either be lost by ya self, or lost with someone else."

In this way, many black flowing tendrils extended from the base of Mana's spine. They slithered around with emerald green energy as they enveloped Calypso with the most gentle of touches to otherwise serve as a blanket. As there was nothing quite like feeling the protection of a mother's warmth to ensure that things would be alright; even if they did seem rather grim.

"The best way to face trauma is to stare it head-on, no? Letting it dominate your every waking thought is a hellish way to exist. So, with your mother at your side, why not go down this trip and we confront this beast together, my sweet child."

Calypso heard her own breathing, her heart, her mother's own bodily functions, as the two were simply in a moment between the two of them, even if Calypso was aware they weren't completely alone. Her eyes drooped at the sensation of her mother patting her head, leaning softly against her as those instincts of wishing for closeness and love from a parental figure.

"..I don't want this to happen to anyone else in our family."

She spoke softly but surely, her head lowered, "I never want anyone else to feel like this, to think like this, to suffer like this... I want to be the last one it ever happens to, this curse. I will be vigilant of anyone newly born - I'll do for them what wasn't done for so many of us.."

The girl covered her eyes, head in her hands as she felt her mother's tendrils slowly creep upon her body, pulling her into an unusual warm embrace, one she accepted, one she did not dare contest,

".. What are you suggesting we do about it, mom? What is there even to do? The damage is already done, the scars are set, my mind is changed forever.. What is there to be done at this point..?"

"Hey, hey, hey. I'm not an omnipotent goddess. There is no certainty in this life that something even worse than this won't happen to one of us, s'ug."

With a light flick of her finger, Ol' Mana bonged the nose of Calypso as she started pleading with her mother to make sure nothing awful ever happened to her family. And that? Haha! That was certain insanity. There was no stopping sweet mother fate from ramming her foot up your narrow ass if she comes a-knocking. However, that didn't mean that there weren't certain precautions to lubricate the ass-whooping and make it more tolerable.

"My lil' cinni-bun, ya will never achieve ya goal as no being can always be there to prevent mother fate from ravaging your ass when ya guard inevitably falls. Driving ya self to insanity when trying to stop that which ya have no control over makes ya more looney than ya dear ol' mama crazy Mana fox."

Doom, doom, doom. It was all doom and gloom, wasn't it? But it can't be. It won't be. In fact, the gods had blessed her. Strife is what builds strength. Strength is what makes great times. And great times lead to true happiness until they inevitably fade away again to start the cycle once more. So, Ol' Mana did her job as a mother to convey this nugget of gold knowledge to her beloved daughter.

After gently caressing her cheeks, rubbing her body, and making her safe under the embrace of the absurdly powerful vessel which was her queenly body; Mana's emerald eyes fixed on Calypso and smirked.

"Ya don't have to do anything, s'ug. Ya mind will never go back to normal. That normal is dead, but ya can build a new one. Ya been through pain, n' when ya go through pain, it's the gods givin' ya the golden ticket to power. And I ain't talkin' about raw strength, dear."

Again, Mana flowed her pale white fingers through the snow hair of Calypso and continued in her oh-so-manically-confident tone.

"Ya' have been wildly hurt, so now ya' mental and physical defenses get to harden from the trauma. Sit with me in the pain, learn to be one with it n' bite off the sweet nectar of gods hardships to thrive in the chaos n' to rise above it all as ya' refuse to crumble n' break under it. As if ya' vision for the future is so damn grandiose, then maintain the overzealous will to survive under hell n' ya will see a godly level of pleasure with ya persistence."

The young demon didn't flinched when her mother affectionately flicked her nose, remaining silent as her thoughts raced on the subject, feeling her thoughts and perspective to be unchanging, soon parting her lips once more after a moment or two of silent contemplation,

"..Then I guess i'm loonier than you. I don't want any more of my family to suffer like this."

Soon she had properly leaned against her mother, accepting the physical gestures of love, as well as the twisted senses of it she could sense from her mother's emotions, hearing her words as she felt silent rushes of happiness from each touch she received.

"..Yes, I understand all of that, mom. By year nine, I accepted that I was never going to be the same, ever again. What I would become, however.. I have no fear or uncertainties towards. I know what I want, and I know that i'll accomplish those wants, even if they sound mad. I'm not intent on letting anything stop me... Just right now, i'm trying to recover from these fresh wounds dealt to my psyche."

Her glazed expression looked at her mother, head tilted to the side as she contemplated something, sighing softly when she shook her head,

"..Thirty years... Thirty years is what I went through, but it was no time at all for you or anybody else on this side. I went to see them all, and they act like it's no big deal, no sweat... They don't understand, they can't understand..."

Black tears formed in her eyes as a smile broke her lips, "..So quickly did I suddenly grow so distant from everyone else... Even if I managed to pull my companions out of that place, they don't have any recollection so far.. I'm so distant from everyone now.. It's just another form of loneliness..."

Ol' Mana quickly wiped away the blackened tears from her daughter's eyes as she wriggled her nose. Pain flowed across the woman's face like a make-up of ugly suffering for the world to see. To be trapped in such an awful dimension with no escape, no one there and to lose touch with reality was something The Queen knew all too well. And, it is why she gave a loving chuckle at the circumstance before she spoke:

"Ya do know I'm far older than my physical body? This vessel that is my Queenly self is around four centuries old, but my mind has been in dimensions that make me more akin to a thousand-year-old beast."

Again, Mana held her daughter close to her chest; gently stroking it, keeping her face safe in her bosom and letting the sounds of childish giggles simmer around her manic energy as the room grew cooler from her emerald energy.

"So ya' mama actually knows a thing or two about the suffering ya are going there if ya' allow ya self to allow me to relate to ya."

There was then a pause before Mana gave one of her signature snickers.

"Fuck, that was a mouth full of ya's."

With her tendril now wrapping around the lower parts of Calypso like a blanket, Ol' Mana wanted to make her daughter comfortable as could be while in her grasp since holding on to something physical helped grounded one to reality.

"But really, all ya can do is let time heal those wounds, grasp on to something real and let ya mind become resilient enough not to break. If ya ain't got nuffin' else, I'll surely use all my powers of the damned to keep my pretty little daughter from falling into a pit of suffering most mortals can't imagine."

After giving her a kiss on the forehead, Mana's eyes narrowed before a smug smirk came across her lips.

"Because I love ya, kiddo. Most men n' foul women across the four realms would kill to have this moment with me. So don't waste it~"

With a wink of her right eye, Mana eased back and just let her daughter respond however she saw fit to all that unfolded before her.
