A Lost Path [Klaus/Nicoletta] - Page 3 Empty Re: A Lost Path [Klaus/Nicoletta]

A puzzled look met his tired red eyes - Their radar? He didn't find it to be an important question right now, especially with the revelation that he could probably cook anyone and any electrical device close enough to him in his sleep if he didn't get this shit under control. With that, he would save the whole 'they' question for later, provided he didn't forget about that too.

Clasping the cross upon his necklace as she spoke of it and it's purpose, Klaus almost couldn't believe it, that this honestly pretty normal looking necklace could do something like that. But given everything he's experienced today, not believing her would be foolish at this point. She was his only lead to his memories, and possibly the only family he didn't feel up to bolt from. More, he felt more inclined to be with her than feeling nothing or feeling repulsed or fearful, unlike how he felt hearing merely his father's voice.

Following her movements, he would sit in a similar position, though as he was moving to clasp his hands together, he felt several sensations - Strong heats, cold rains, dark mugginess on his skin. His fingers twitched from his pause, but he took in a deep, shaky breath, his hands uneasily meeting as his head tipped slightly forth. This had an unnerving amount of familiarity to him, but he guessed that would make sense - he probably was taught to do it like this before...

With that, he slowed his breathing, shut his eyes, and focused. That sense of familiarity grew, until he felt something around him, albeit not very strong, he could feel it, like an ethereal blanket.

"..It.. Kind of feels like.. A presence? A form? I.. I dunno how to put it into words, just... Feels like theres something.. All around me, something familiar."

Ok. So she had been right. He could feel it. That was good. Things were going to be far easier now that he had focused on and come to notice the energy from without. Perhaps the other way around would be just as easy. Before saying anything else, she slowly took a breath and exhaled. "Good. For Quincy things, this is what you'd be focusing on drawing on and manipulating. And to an extent, that would help with your ability to control what's coming off of you." She said as she listened to the rain.

"However, that would be the indirect route. And it's a route that we don't have time for. Now, I need you to ignore that blanket of energy that you're feeling. Ignore everything, even my voice. Turn that attention into yourself, and describe what you feel." It was a basic bit of practice that had helped her after discovering her power. Practicing enough with it had given her full control, instead of releasing heat or cold whenever the appropriate emotion flared up. It had taken quite some time to manage that degree of control. But she had also been relatively safe thanks to her ability to form a 'bow'.

Without that ability, he would need to get at least enough of a grip on his own power to not be discharging at complete random. But rushing it would only hurt him. With that in mind, she would sit and wait, practicing what she was preaching. As was expected, the initial dive brought a chill that quickly faded into a vague warmth before returning to the temperature around them. The spiritual representation of her power.

The young man softly nodded towards her advice and instruction. Despite feeling the sensation of slumber weighing him down, he tried to keep focused on the task at hand, as he'd rather not accidentally bake a car in his sleep again. He still felt a bit disorientated, but otherwise could listen to Nicoletta, and to her instruction to focus fully in on himself, to block out everything else, even giving him an example. Goosebumps formed and vanished as he felt a chill in the air suddenly warm, his nostrils softly flaring as he looked down at his calloused hands, hardened by years of work he no longer could recall, tightening them, and shut his eyes.

After moments of silence, his body tensed for a moment, eyes squeezing as electricity crackled along his body. He felt a strong tingling along his spine, as if someone was pressing needles into his nerves - Painless, but he could feel them. The current was rather expressive at first, not explosive but crackles were present and frequent, until he relaxed, the visible arcs becoming infrequent before vanishing entirely when he opened his eyes,

"Felt like sharp, cold fingers on my back.. Not fingers.. Ahhh.."

He tapped his lip, trying to think of the right word, before snapping his fingers, "Icicles. Spears of ice. Up and down my spine.. Like claws.. It felt.. Terrifying? Worrying? I'm not sure, the feeling just.. Didn't feel good."

Nicoletta might not have had her eyes open as her brother also tried to focus on the feeling of his own power. But she definitely didn't need to see to know that it was doing something. The stench of ozone was strong while this close to him. However, it was the description he ended up giving that made Nicoletta open her eyes again. The feeling he described was not an unfamiliar one, to be sure. It was never easy trying to focus on something like that without feeling at least a minor degree of blowback.

"I suppose that makes sense." She said as she stopped her own focusing on her internal power. "After all, your power is currently running rampant, going off whenever you experience strong emotions." She said as she raised her arms, stretching a little. "An uncontrolled power is bound to feel rather intimidating the first time you try to focus on it. Especially a power with such wide reaching possibilities. I want you to try again. But this time, try and push past that initial feeling. The first dive in is always the worst. This time, you should be able to dig a little deeper, now that you know what you'll be diving into." She explained as she heard the vibration of her phone going off from atop the trunk of the car. With that, she stood up and walked out of the admittedly small area of light that they had been sitting in.

Which was odd. When she had first tapped it, things had seemed so much more bright. Then again, she had turned on an LED light in complete darkness. The extreme initial brightness was almost guaranteed to be a result of a sudden influx of light. However, she didn't step back into the light after checking her phone. She would have to leave Klaus to his own devices for the moment, as she was now getting a series confirmation texts now that there was a truck being sent their way. While he tried to dive deeper, she found herself looking for the nearest road marker, as per the request of the company that was sending their truck out to come get them. It wouldn't take long, certainly. But if anything went wrong with Klaus's attempt, she would be back in an instant.

A Lost Path [Klaus/Nicoletta] - Page 3 Empty Re: A Lost Path [Klaus/Nicoletta]

Klaus's eyes would slowly shut once more, though he heard the older woman's words through the fog of consciousness. Whether he liked it or not he had to keep his his focus maintained, the icy cold sensation pricking at his nerves was stomach churning, fear-inducing. But it was here to stay unless he braved it - he had barely began his descent.

His hands rested on his knees, his head dipped forward as he focused inward. His body felt colder, and colder, as everything outside of himself gradually turned to white noise. His hands trembled as electrical currents cascaded his body once more, as the farther he reached, the more chilled he would become. The sensation would reach an apex as he saw that white face before him once more. It loomed over him, an ethereal cry of hunger ripping through the fog as he stood helpless before it, prey to it.

His lungs froze, heart beating out of his chest as it lunged forth to claim him, but some reflex took, some instinct lead to him motioning his hand forth, the sensation of all his nerves stinging to life, growing worse and worse by the second, until suddenly he felt as if he was shot. His heart felt like it exploded, this traumatic instance he couldn't recall clearly, at least gifted him with a remembrance of his motions, his actions, the sensation of power exploding within and then out of him.

His eyes flashed open, consciousness regained with cold sweat, as his gaze was drawn to his outstretched hand. He almost couldn't believe what his eyes were seeing. While he did believe Nicoletta - That he would just get mysteriously struck by 'lightning' over and over if he didn't come with her for her help, but believing that was entirely different than seeing the truth with his own eyes.

Vibrant, blue-ish electricity crackled on his outstretched hand. The sensation of icy claws raking at his spine was at a fever pitch, but his sense of awe lead him to disregard the roaring voices of anxiety and fear crying at the back of his mind. He brought his charged palm close to look at, the light of the crackling energy quietly dominating that of the LED's own, the light of the manmade light even beginning to flicker in the presence of a powerful current licking at and twisting it's own.

..Stop?

At his bidding, the electricity lessened to a near bare flicker. It didn't completely stop, but the wild nature of such a power responded to his will. A look of shock remained on his face as he willed the current to return, and return it did, a little too hot compared to initially, but he steadied his panicked heart, and with it the control returned,

"..Uhhhh.. Nicoletta..?"

He almost couldn't contain himself, his voice a near whisper as he tried to call his sibling's attention. He willed it to diminish, he willed it to flourish, over and over did his sense of excitement grow as at least mostly, his power listened to him.

"Nicoletta..! Nicoletta!"

A bit impulsive, he abruptly got up, running out to the edge of the light's reach, trying to catch the woman's attention,

"Nico! Look!"

An almost stupid, giddy smile was on his face as he presented his hand, making the current weaken and strengthen at will to present he at least grabbed something within his state of concentration. That instinct, he remembered it, he remembered how it felt. Though, even in his excitement, he almost wanted to throw up from how sick he felt inside.
