Re: Tis But A Scratch (Helle/Uriel, Semi-Open)

Helle Armstrong
What’s a gal supposed to do when your sort of friend is frightened by one of your subordinates? Helle wasn’t prepared for someone like Maria to suddenly appear from the woods at a time like this. She felt the need to create a line between personal and professional matters, meaning Maria didn’t really have a need to know too much about Uriel. Would such interactions truly matter? Helle does not foresee any future interactions between the two besides the off chance they congregate around her. However, she is herself and they are them. Maybe something will happen. It’s none of her business. Though, it would be nonsensical of her to simply ignore Maria’s reaction to Uriel.
Laughing, however, probably wasn’t the best option, but Helle’s feeling good at the moment, a difference from when the two women first met. Now, she wants to dismiss Uriel simply because he frightened Maria, in a jesting manner of course. But, the quickness at which her cool exterior was dropped for a more lively persona truly shows her youth. Stepping somewhat to the side of Maria, her hand moves to the Sueki’s head petting it lightly as her emerald eyes shined humorously.
“Ah, you are quite mistaken indeed, Maria. This is my subordinate, Uriel Sancroix, as he has introduced himself as already. There’s no need to be afraid of him. He may look intimidating, but he’s, what you’d call, a gentle giant alien?”
Helle’s brow rose as a small smug smirk appeared on her face, her eyes focusing on Uriel for a moment before returning to Maria. However, her silliness must end sadly for she must at least try to uphold the professional air that she had before. Yet, her hand continued to pat the other’s head like she’s become a mother soothing their troubled child who’s seen a monster under their bed.
“Though, I must question what has brought you to The City of Lights. You seem rather pale. Uriel, please. She may faint if you do not tone down your brightness.”

Song: Pham - Movements (feat. Yung Fusion) - Word Count: --
The white haired woman felt her hairs raise up on the back of her neck in such a way that made her glower at the offending man before her suspiciously. Was he seriously teasing her right now? It wasn't her fault her first reaction was immediate horror and shock! That was a perfectly normal reaction to such a beast. Scowl still harsh on her face, Mimi pouted and ripped her hands from Helle to instead fold them over her chest. She wasn't a child, that was well over a decade ago! Poking her tongue out at the man, the woman deliberately messed up his name just to get a rise out of him, "Despite your height clearly messing with your eyesight somehow when you look down, Buttriel, I'll enlighten you to the fact that I am not a kid and I don't think Helle should date⚊ Argh?!". Maria's mini rant was abruptly cut off by a hand patting her head that left her pale skin flushed.
Looking up at the blonde woman with wide, dumbfounded eyes her jaw dropped at the audacity and just general unexpectedness of the situation, But the bright, mirth filled green eyes had the woman picking up her jaw and just looking away, too embarrassed to tell her to stop. Instead, she scoffed, "Oh come on, not you too! Aliens aren't reaaaal!", flipping a hair tendril over her shoulder, Mimi scrunched her face up at Helle, then at Uriel. They were totally treating her like a kid right now, weren't they? Never mind the fact that this guy wasn't Helle's boo-thing, whether he was or not, he wasn't gonna get away with this! She was fine with the blonde woman doing it, she was cute when she smiled. Pulling away from the taller woman's headpats and closing up her umbrella, Maria strutted up to the building shaped like a man and pointed her finger at his nose, other hand placed upon her jutting hip. A small frowned graced her mouth and scrunched up face as the sunlight beamed at her eyes. Was this guy actually radiating light?!
"Listen here, Buttriel, my name is Maria Sarasti, and I deserve respect as your elder!"

As she approached him to make her point known his neck need to crank it's self down, gazing at her as the corner of his lips tugged into a playful smile. But she was indeed right to note light was radiating from him, not just that, but there was a heat coming off of him. It wasn't particularly unpleasant, usually, but with her being what she was it might feel some mix of odd. None the less he'd lift a gloved hand to his own chin stroke the bare skin in an almost thoughtful pose as he nodded at what she said. His lips pursed for a moment before stepping back and to the side, gesturing towards the city.
"Oh apologies, ma'm, do you need me to escort you down the street? Maybe carry your purse? Gosh, hate to leave my elder uncomfortable."
The man would broke the facade letting out a mute laugh, bringing his hand to his face to wipe it getting himself under control. It wasn't nice to tease but she really did open herself up to it. He'd cast a look over to Helle, his face twisting into a non-verbal expression of 'yikes.' "I wish I could, Armstrong, but it's one of things I still need training on. But the sun is almost about to start heading down- wait she allergic to the sun or something?" He'd pivot the topic casting a glance at her, visually interested in what that.
"Alright alright, Maria. I'll stop teasing, I couldn't help myself. I'm a dumb giant right?" He'd offer a genuine smile as he came to finally hold a hand out, one part out of habit and the other at least attempting to show he wasn't entirely an ass. "Let's start over, I'm Uriel Sancroix. It's nice to meet you, Maria."

What an unexpected reaction. Maria seemed the type to easily shrug off a gesture as mundane as a head pat, yet, it quite easily broke through her defenses and left her little more than a flustered child. It had easily deescalated the situation, for a second or two. Maria, with all the swag that remained within her, used it up to leave Helle’s side and approach her subordinate. Ah, so this is banter? It is somewhat amusing, but at the same time, the blonde couldn’t help but think it unnecessary at the same time. Uriel and Maria aren’t friends, so this seemed to be far more hostile than it should be; especially the retort Uriel returned to Maria.
At least her subordinate has some tact about him and understands that he should return to a more sensible way of acting. Hopefully, Maria follows suit and leaves any other comments she may have in her head. Helle, herself, just sighs and places her hand on her head while shaking it in slight exasperation. The two of them bickering and bringing up age. Helle is the youngest but seems to be the only real adult in this situation, excusing any acts that may have proved otherwise in the past or whatever may occur in the future. Ah, wait a moment.
“Perfect. While you two get accommodated, I must return back to my office to finish up some paperwork. Uriel, please show Maria around the city. I am sure she shall be ever grateful. And, Maria?” Helle tilts her head slightly with a stressed smile. “Once you and Uriel are done, I will have him bring you to my office later to discuss me and my preferences.”
There’s no room for back talk when an order is given, so with that said, Helle turns and begins to walk back towards the city, leaving Uriel and Maria to get acquainted with one another. “Oh, and Uriel, once you are done with Maria, you will be allowed the remainder of the day for yourself. I am sure you’ll need it.” A quick tease despite her initial thoughts on the matter, but Helle felt it necessary to foretell the fun that Uriel is sure to have with his new assignment.

"L"
An amused smirk snaked itself upon her lips, almost breaking into a full grin at the pretty man's joke. He thought he was so funny, didn't he? She allowed Helle to pat her head, enjoying her touch but keeping it to herself. The blonde woman was cute and despite the younger woman treating her like a kid, she didn't mind too much. Mimi wanted to be her friend and if that meant getting babied, well..she was a princess every way except blood after all.
Being next to Uriel and Helle, however was like being directly next to two suns and she squinted at their figures in slight annoyance as the man switched his attention back to Helle. They were like flowers, with their dazzling eyes and bright, bright hair. It was almost like they could birth a literal supernova if were to ever join as one, but that's weird to think about so Maria scrunches up her nose at the thought. Shaking her head in an attempt to mind bleach that foul image away, she instead turned her attention back to the blonde woman who was leaving her with the buttman. A frown tugged at her lips at that, she didn't want to say goodbye yet, she was so excited to see her! A pout formed at her lips and she crossed her arms under her bosom, umbrella momentarily forgotten until she whacked her own knee with one of the sharp edges, earning a slight wince at her ignorance. What was she trying to pull here? Not her fault her preferences were questionable!
Mimi glared at the woman's retreating figure until she was out of sight but in the end she released a huff and turned to eye the man's form. With pursed lips she looked him up and down, judging whether or not he had the swagger to walk with her. Yeah, he was pretty, but just being pretty wasn't enough to be accepted by her. But regardless, she accepted it, besides, he was ordered by Helle, and judging by ranking she'd probably beat his ass for disobeying her. Putting a hand on her jutted out hip, Maria swung her umbrella back over her shoulder to once again protect her from the retreating sun's rays as she simultaneously held out her hand for the man to take it.
"Well come on, Sunflower, can't disobey a direct order now, can we? We both know she'll kick your ass to next Doomsday if you just abandon me. Besides..." she paused and gave Uriel a shit-eating grin as she began to strut ahead, regardless if he took her hand or not, "...You're almost cool enough to be my entourage. Even if looking up at you will basically break my neck!" Mimi said the last bit with a snort, shaking her head in disbelief. Honestly, she felt bad for whoever his mother was, her poor privates. "So! Where to first?"

"Wait hold on-"
Uriel would begin to say before being aburptly cut off by each of the two women for one reason or another. It appeared his superior had just assigned him to baby sitting duty for lack of better words. The super soldier with years of experience at war, countless bodies on him, and rising Vandenreich star was assigned to make sure this woman didn't get hit by a car or something. What a wonderful use of his skills.
He just shook his head before giving a mute chuckle, he supposed that it would be entertaining for the better part of the day. She was cute too, if a bit pale. Of course he took her hand soon catching up to her and actually taking the lead, since ya' know, he was the guide.
"Probably somewhere shaded, you look like you're melting. Not in the nice way either." He'd comment tongue-in-cheek. It wouldn't be too hard to lead her back to civilization, it was just a matter of making sure she didn't trip on the rocky outcroppings.
"I assume you got a place to stay? I guess I can show you some places nearby where you're staying at."

"Oh, you think you're so cute."
Maria snorted in a very unladylike fashion, her red eyes glimmering in amusement as she shook her head at the man. She twirled the umbrella behind her as way to point out she wasn't melting too bad, for now. He can lead, for now, despite the fact that she basically wandered around the city all day, though she didn't really commit anything to memory, but that wasn't really relevant. What really was important, was that she was going to run this man into the ground.
Wicked grin in place, Maria brought his much larger hand near her mouth, just below her lower lip, a soft chuckle escaping her plump lips. "People don't just melt you know, I'm not some witch. Or, do you mean... that way since you're already trying to drag me off to a love hotel." Mimi let out a risque giggle, dropping the Uriel's hand as she attempted to cover her own in her laughter. Was she really acting like a fourteen year old with a man she barely knew? Possibly. Did she really care? Nah..But he did bring up a good point. She refused to sleep outside like some bum, earlier near failure ignored. Maybe she'll ask Helle to bunk her later? That'd be nice. A slumber party!
Finishing off her good giggle, Mimi side eyed Uriel and decided to change the subject. She wasn't that tired, but surely he had to be. Wasn't he just doing some weird training with the blonde? Maybe he was hungry? She didn't eat regular food much but it was ok. "Now ignoring the fact you just tried to whisk me away, surely there are better things you can show me? Don't people usually try the food courts first? You've gotta be starving!"

"You mistake me, Maria. I am merely a gentlemen."
The man would reply smoothly as she dropped his hand, his blue irises turning to look down at her. The imposing gaze of a disciplined soldier and man. Before the corner of his lip turned upwards into a small smile, clearly taking her in stride. The type of people his leader hang out with was a mixed bag, but this was out there even for him. It would certainly be an interesting day, and night potentially. His hands would come behind his back, walking forward as his head tilted up allowing the sun to bask in his face.
When she next spoke he considered it for a moment. It was an understatement the calorie intake he needed to maintain this physique let alone the enhancement which ran through his blood. He supplemented himself with a high-protein calorie bar, but the workout with Helle had certainly pushed him past that. He supposed he would have to humor this, although he wasn't all that reluctant in the first place.
"Now that you mention it, I do know a nearby place. I could use a bite." He'd remark, as his stride increased ever so much. However, remembering who was with him he soon brought himself under control into a slower stride. It would be bad to end up just out-pacing her, that wouldn't be very gentlemanly.
