Finding Home In The Devil [Algos/Vanyel]

Anything that helped him feel safe and comforted in this new, strange world, was more than welcome. He had no reaction to the woman covering his eyes, though this allowed him to listen intently -- even if one word was all that she needed to say to grab his attention. The moment she said the word "power" his eyes widened behind her hands, a brief spike of emotion -- of excitement -- burned through his body.

Even now, that desire for anything related to power -- to be in control of his own fate and to continue to work his way up to the top -- it was like a drug to him. Just the mere mention of the word "power" was enough to get his attention and enough to even change his attitude and demeanor, something that Algos would see through his certainty and lack of hesitance when he said the following:

"Power."

Again, no hesitation. Even with what Algos said next, Vanyel simply could not resist that allure, that desire for anything related to power. It gave him safety, security, certainty, and more than anything else, unbeknownst to him -- control. As long as he had that, he felt that there was little else he needed. But, he quickly took a moment to breathe, and continue:

"...Power first, then society, then heritage."

Mmmmmmmmmmmm~ How could one deny the allure of power? Even humans had a desire to topple one another rights as individuals to attain security in that very wonderful thing. So when in the land of devils and snakes, that thirst for strength could only serve to be amplified to the highest degree as demonic creatures respected power. Therefore, Algos was more than thrilled to divulge the notion of their hellish might.

"Power? We have a lot of that. Royal magic, legions of familiars, possessive strength; oh yes, you'd have more resources than you'd know what to do with!"

Glee now etched across the woman's face, Algos waved her right wrist in order to have her wings come out in full view to otherwise wrap themselves around Vanyel. Clenched tight, the roar of demonic energy swelled as the princess carried on.

"As a demon, you'd become one with their your element, attain mastery over the arts of possession and start to become something feared as your power feeds on that which you cherish the most. All the while, the spoils of being part of a royal family could net you all the strength, influence, and command you could ever desire if what you seek is safety."

Laughing a bit, she was getting carried away, so rows of tendrils started to swirl around her body, but she quickly used these blood tendrils to scoop Vanyel up like a body and hold him in the air as she twirled him around like a precious thing.

"Imagine being this high on your power that nothing could ever bother you. Does it sound nice? Is that the safety you seek? Tell me that DOESN'T sounds appealing to at least explore. You'd be lying straight to my face and I'd be upset if you fibbed to me, Vanyel."

The desire for power was something that always took center stage for Vanyel. Thus, to know as much as he could about the power in Demon World, what it could do for him, and maybe even how he could attain this power, it was an exhilarating thought, so much so that the man's excitement grew even more as Algos recounted only a small amount of the different forms of power and strength that they possessed.

Methods of power he didn't even really think of or weren't even possible for him: magic, familiars, alongside the pure, raw power that he initially thought of -- all of it serving to fuel that sense of megalomania in him. It fueled that addiction and desire to the point where he found himself grinning as the woman wrapped him up in her wings. Even as she continued, speaking of possessive abilities and becoming one with his element -- things that he didn't fully understand, but with what he was hearing, it was enticing -- very enticing.

The mention of his powers feeding off of what he cherished the most was both something that made him think, as well as bred further excitement in him as he briefly wondered what that would be and what he could do with that. Perhaps there was something he could do with that power to rise to even higher? Vanyel glanced down for a moment as Algos picked him up with a set of bloody tendrils, twirling him around as he found himself joining in the small bit of laughter.

He found himself relaxing in the grip of the tendrils, letting the demoness do whatever she wished. He couldn't lie -- not that it would matter, as Algos would be able to see through it instantly, thus, as the human finally responded, Algos received nothing but the truth.

"That sounds...absolutely incredible."

Being so high on that potential strength and power that nobody could bother him...it was something that he couldn't stop thinking about. Should he turn to a demon, the idea of magic and familiars that added to that -- Vanyel found himself chuckling lightly at the thought of it. Turning into a demon was sounding more and more appealing. So, as Vanyel continued, a grin spread across his face as he spoke with an almost childish sense of wonder and curiosity.

"After you said all that...I do kinda wanna explore it, or, at least witness it or somethin'. I just...I wanna see it!"

"Then I will take you to the depths of the blazing hell that is our kingdom."

Algos would clasp her hands together, release the male from her grip, and rip open a hot vortex of blazing blood colors before them. Where would this wormhole into the realm of demons take them? Well, that would be unveiled with time. All she was looking for from him was trust, acceptance, and the ability to think for himself to follow The Princess of Devils into the unknown path ahead.

Thus, the woman would give a roll of her shoulders, waltz toward the vortex of magic and motion for Vanyel to follow.

"Follow me and I'll let our adventure begin~"

And with that, she said not a word more before disappearing into the abyss of scarlet light.

Vanyel couldn't stop feeling excitement burn through his body, to see that incredulous, enticing power that had captured his attention more than anything. He watched as Algos clasped her hands together while releasing him, and a crimson vortex spiraled to life, with the woman beckoning him to follow. As he was set down, he took a step forward, but stopped.

A small bit of hesitation come over him for a moment, a feeling that he didn't understand as to why he was feeling it. What would seeing this power entail? There was a small part of him that felt uneasy about it, for some reason. But, he quickly regained his composure, taking a deep breath to reaffirm himself. He would be fine -- he trusted Algos. Stepping through the vortex, each step more cautious than the last.
