The unknown was quite the terrifying thing to digest, was it not? Stepping forth into a black void without knowing the outcome of the other side could bring panic and terror in the soul of many beings. So, to expect him to toss away everything on a whim was perhaps a notch too high to expect. Still, however, it wasn't as if he had given her a flat-out no. Instead, he needed the counsel of his lover in order to see things through to the end and ease his mind. And that notion was one which Algos could respect.

"What? Are you scared I'm doing to devour you all if you decline such an offer? It's not a finite deal. Come back to it whenever you feel you are ready. IF you ever feel ready."

Almost out of nowhere, the coy sounding Princess forged a tail from the base of her spine. This appendage was made of a scarlet glow and seemed boney in nature; yet the tip of its end was spiked and she gave him a slight poke on the back as her voice emitted a childish cackle; almost akin to her mothers. After all: madness never fell too far from the tree in this family, did it?

"What makes you so scared to take the jump to the other side, though?"

Now with her eyes locked on the pale-skinned man, the demoness relaxed her voice and spoke out of curiosity than of pressure or demand. She wanted to hear from his own words and not bother with the reliance of the seal. As it is one thing to feel emotion, it is another to have it expressed in earnest through the command of ones mother tongue.

The anxiety began to calm itself as Algos reassured him that he could come back to it whenever he was ready -- if he was. So, Vanyel was able to breathe easy in that regard, and he let out a sigh of relief, a hand brushing through his hair as he did, a small distraction from that growing pressure. Though, he did jump a little at the sudden poke from the new tail that Algos formed, giving a quiet laugh in return.

Like always, her words and question cut deep. The human bit his lip, turning his gaze to the ground as he took a bit of time to think of what he would say -- he wasn't the greatest when it came to expressing his thoughts. Eventually, he came to a conclusion:

"I guess...I'm just scared of how it would change me. I don't know what all it would do to me, mentally, emotionally, and whatnot. I don't know if it'll change my feelings toward Calypso, to you, or the rest of the family."

He paused, taking a moment to look at his covered arm, reaching down and rolling up the sleeve a bit to reveal the yakuza irezumi, the forever incomplete tattoo on his arm.

"And...I'm scared of throwing everything I am away. I've always been human. Yeah, humanity's forgotten about me and abandoned me, but it's still a really big change and a really big decision. I've...never had to make a choice like that before."

He paused again, taking a glance at the floor before looking back at her.

"I guess, above everythin' else, I don't really know enough about what it'll do to me, and I guess because I've been a human for so long, I think I got attached to that."

The man took a deep breath, exhaling a sigh of relief as he finished.

"There's probably more, but...I can't really figure out how to word the rest of it right now."

Playing the role of the active listener allowed the perceiving mind to peer into the depths of another person's soul far better than talking over them could ever achieve. Therefore, as Vanyel uttered his truths into this lone devil, she could then process the reasons why he was so afraid of becoming a demon: their psychology. There was no telling how the possessive elements within the blood of a demon may influence the likes of a human as loving as he is. So, to that sentiment of terror, The Princess could better understand why he was not in such a rush to shift races.

"You are scared of it altering your mind, ego, and heart. You aren't sure of its effects and don't want to risk becoming a monster and abandoning all that you care about."

While she spoke far fewer words than the likes of the human, these words were made to cut through the noise of his mind to get him to pay attention to the key things that were holding him back from making the switch. It is why the woman seemed to relax, ease, and pat him on the head with her boney tailed as she continued:

"Stepping forth into the unknown without any idea of what you are getting into is reasonable enough. So tell me: what do you feel you need to know about the transformation to make you more at ease? I'm The Princess of Demons: so I'm sure the knowledge of our kind far exceeds many others~"

A sense of relief washed over him at the feeling of being listened to, even more from cutting down to the core -- or at least the most important issues on hand at the moment -- it made him feel and know that he was actually being listened to. So, as she spoke, Vanyel quietly nodded.

He didn't know what it would do to himself, his heart, his mind, and Algos hit that nail on the head: he didn't want to become a monster and lose everything he had come to love and care for, and to lose everything he had come to be. Ergo, as she let herself become open to any questions or inquiries he might have, Vanyel, once more, took some time to think about how to start all of this.

Taking in a deep breath, the human decided to start this off with one piece at a time. He had a number of things he wanted to ask, but they had all the time in the world to talk this out if it would give him some peace of mind.

"Well...I think the first thing I should ask is, what does the whole process entail? Will...Will I survive it?"

Many questions lingered in the mind of the human as he pondered breaking the boundary of the flesh to attain the awakening of his demonic self. So, as he was worried about the rate of survival when it came to such a process, Algos had all of the answers he needed:

"The odds of you dying from this are slim to none, I'd say."

Not needing to add any further flare to her wording, the woman felt it was right to keep it concise, direct, and blunt. Though, additional information couldn't hurt after the crucial part of his question had been answered.

"I've seen many turnings in my day and they typically turn out fine. Sure, you may get the occasional death from unforeseen complications of the spirit, but there isn't anything within your being like a Ziamichi which could cause conflict, right?"

Then, without warning, the woman playfully poked his stomach. As it is in this region where a certain seal had been placed and she knew how to further direct this conversation.

"If anything, the Seal of Eris would almost assure your safety as you already one-step toward becoming a demon with that thing lurking in your body, Vanyel."

After taking a pause, the woman than tapped her chin and asked yet another question to the male:

"Now tell me: is what are the other worries you have? Surely it isn't just that, right?"

Remaining silent was, for him, a way to allow him to process what was being said. So, as Algos reassured him of his chances of living, he nodded in understanding. He appreciated that she was blunt and concise, it allowed them to get to the crux of the matter and get the necessary information out without any additional overdramatic flair. For him, it gave him what he needed -- nothing more, nothing less. So, giving a firm nod to show that he understood, and shaking his head at the mention of a Ziamichi -- hell, he didn't even know what that was, Vanyel could rest easy in that regard.

Though, his face briefly flushed at the sudden poke to his stomach, a small smile coming to his face as he chuckled lightly at the mention of the Seal. She was right, he had already begun to dip his toes into the transformation into a demon with the help of it, so he was indeed already a step towards that process.

"Well...no, that isn't it, but I wanted to tackle this one at a time."

He paused, taking a moment to think about what the next topic to broach should be. His thoughts went back to the key topics that Algos had focused on, and he brought his hands to the opposing arm.

"I guess, the next thing would be...what is this gonna do to me, mentally? Will it change my memories? Will this change my thoughts toward Caly, to you, or anyone else? Will it turn me into a completely different and new person?"

He paused, gripping his arms tighter. Demons were very volatile creatures, and there was another part of him that worried about something else specifically.

"I'm also scared that...if I turn, I might end up going down your path."

When it came to the notion of transforming into a demon, these heavy concerns of the heart and mind weighed down Vanyel's soul like an anchor leading him into the bottom of a sea of dread. So, to avoid him drowning in this ocean of uncertainty, Algos's eyes grew further potent with desire, focus, and life as she held on to his shoulders. In this way, there was no escape for him as she licked her lips, giggled, and proceeded to let the zealous nature of her inner being bled out.

"You are Calypso's precious thing. So, you've achieved something I cannot even do. Which is why I wouldn't suggest anything that would keep you from loving her. I'd sooner kill myself before I allow her love to be tainted. As with you being an extension of her desire, I have nothing more in my body and heart than to please you if it pleases her."

Those words were spoken with the utmost of conviction as her face soon turned a hot shade of flush red. Now brushing herself up against him, the woman's manic giggles continued as she spoke more on the transformation process.

"You forget I already have the Seal of Eris influencing my actions. It only serves to amplify the madness that was already laying in my heart. No matter if I was a human or not. So, if you've come this far without having the power of the gods alter you, I sincerely doubt you'll love Calypso anymore or less under the blood of the demonic."

Now leaning back from the male, The Princess had a delightful smile across her face before proceeding forward with her knowledge.

"Even without my blood of sin, you still run that risk of becoming like me. The only difference is that you have someone to mentor you from becoming like me. Now, can you really look me in the eyes and disagree with that notion when you feel the pulsation of our souls possess similar beginnings at our root?"

The more Algos reassured his concerns, the more tempting and alluring the act of turning became to him. He felt her hands grasp his shoulders, something that in turn, caused him to release his arms. His cheeks briefly flushed as the woman brushed against him, yet the action was not entirely unwelcome.

There were indeed things that he held close to him about his humanity, and expressing those concerns were likely one of the biggest points of contention for him. Thus, as Algos reassured him that his love for Calypso wouldn't be any more or less under the devilish banner, Vanyel breathed a quiet sigh of relief. It comforted him to know that she wasn't going to offer anything that might jeopardize that and that he would still love her just as much as he did now.

The notion of being referred to as Calypso's precious thing, however, sowed a small seed of irritation and doubt in his heart. Nevertheless, Vanyel turned to face the demoness as she moved away from him, his gaze faltering only for a moment to consider his answer before moving back to her, briefly shaking his head.

"Mm...no, I can't really deny that."

That was right, he'd have someone to mentor him to keep him from becoming similar to Algos -- or, at least, any more than the similarities he shared already. That, too, brought him comfort. A smile came to his face as he looked down at himself, his gaze faltering once more before returning to Algos.

"I guess the only question I have right now, that I can think of, at least, is...what all would change from me going from human to demon? Physical stuff, new abilities, stuff like that. Things that would change, be augmented, or weaknesses that a human would have, but a demon might not?"

"If you so desire it, the amplification of your emotions, perception, and reality can be heightened to relish in the highs and lows only a demon's heart can understand. Attaining a life of great passion, power, and capacity to live for many thousands of years is a great benefit to the finite and enclosed light of life you humans have."

Spoken passionately and with conviction, Algos's words didn't miss a beat as she promptly laid out the beauty of the transformation process. Still, however, there was something amiss in the male's heart. Thus, the keenly aware Princess pressed her right index finger against the man's chest and continued.

"And whatever pain in your heart you have now? Yeah, that can even be absolved in the glow of our kind. If you truly love her, that love will only become stronger and fill you as her man to be."

At this point, the woman's eyes were intent as she wanted to make herself as clear as possible. So, these words kept flowing forth from her pale lips with deep sentiment drenched behind them:

"Perhaps I was wrong to call you a thing and I got carried away, that's why I'm not a good lover. But, you are a person of great value to her and I just want to make sure that person is taken care of within the boundary of my power as a demi-goddess."

Mixed feelings. That was all that could be said when it came to the topic of emotions in turning to demon hood. For him, emotions were a complicated subject, and the ability to control and amplify something such as that, as well as his perceptions and even reality -- it was a thought that was both appealing, and terrifying, as it brought him back once more to the emotional breakdown that happened to him not long after Algos' attack on Minatumi.

His hands briefly went under his jacket sleeves again, brushing over the scars as he weighed the options. On one hand, there was the possibility he could take control over his emotions and prevent something like that from happening again -- prevent him from going so far down that spiral of pain and confusion and prevent himself from wanting to use such desperate means to try and get rid of it. It was something that he still wasn't proud of.

Yet, whatever he felt in his heart now could even be taken away and absolved through the blood and power of devilry. A hand slowly rose and the tips of his fingers gently pressed against his chest. Again, there was an appeal to it, as well as that feeling of fear. But, as she spoke, Vanyel couldn't help but smile, turning towards her and reaching to lightly poke her cheek.

"When you're a demi-goddess, there isn't really a whole lot you can't do, isn't there?"

His eyes partly closed as he looked to the ceiling, before wordlessly turning to Algos again, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into a tight embrace.

"I'm still gonna think about it more, but...thanks for this. It really helped."
