The unknown was quite the terrifying thing to digest, was it not? Stepping forth into a black void without knowing the outcome of the other side could bring panic and terror in the soul of many beings. So, to expect him to toss away everything on a whim was perhaps a notch too high to expect. Still, however, it wasn't as if he had given her a flat-out no. Instead, he needed the counsel of his lover in order to see things through to the end and ease his mind. And that notion was one which Algos could respect.
"What? Are you scared I'm doing to devour you all if you decline such an offer? It's not a finite deal. Come back to it whenever you feel you are ready. IF you ever feel ready."
Almost out of nowhere, the coy sounding Princess forged a tail from the base of her spine. This appendage was made of a scarlet glow and seemed boney in nature; yet the tip of its end was spiked and she gave him a slight poke on the back as her voice emitted a childish cackle; almost akin to her mothers. After all: madness never fell too far from the tree in this family, did it?
"What makes you so scared to take the jump to the other side, though?"
Now with her eyes locked on the pale-skinned man, the demoness relaxed her voice and spoke out of curiosity than of pressure or demand. She wanted to hear from his own words and not bother with the reliance of the seal. As it is one thing to feel emotion, it is another to have it expressed in earnest through the command of ones mother tongue.

The anxiety began to calm itself as Algos reassured him that he could come back to it whenever he was ready -- if he was. So, Vanyel was able to breathe easy in that regard, and he let out a sigh of relief, a hand brushing through his hair as he did, a small distraction from that growing pressure. Though, he did jump a little at the sudden poke from the new tail that Algos formed, giving a quiet laugh in return.
Like always, her words and question cut deep. The human bit his lip, turning his gaze to the ground as he took a bit of time to think of what he would say -- he wasn't the greatest when it came to expressing his thoughts. Eventually, he came to a conclusion:
"I guess...I'm just scared of how it would change me. I don't know what all it would do to me, mentally, emotionally, and whatnot. I don't know if it'll change my feelings toward Calypso, to you, or the rest of the family."
He paused, taking a moment to look at his covered arm, reaching down and rolling up the sleeve a bit to reveal the yakuza irezumi, the forever incomplete tattoo on his arm.
"And...I'm scared of throwing everything I am away. I've always been human. Yeah, humanity's forgotten about me and abandoned me, but it's still a really big change and a really big decision. I've...never had to make a choice like that before."
He paused again, taking a glance at the floor before looking back at her.
"I guess, above everythin' else, I don't really know enough about what it'll do to me, and I guess because I've been a human for so long, I think I got attached to that."
The man took a deep breath, exhaling a sigh of relief as he finished.
"There's probably more, but...I can't really figure out how to word the rest of it right now."
