Re: Searching for the Lost Astillon (Private: Arianda/Kitarune)

The mage found herself interested and was curious as to what all phones could do beyond what Arianda had told her. From what she said, it seemed like it was similar to how she and her brother connected -- only, it was physically in your hand and could contact others. So, needless to say, it would be good to see if she could contact Katsuhiko again if she ever saw him again, or even other friends she met along the way. As Arianda guided her through the store and showed her the different models and companies that she had to pick from, as well as the extremely large amount of accessories and cases she could pick from, Kitarune picked one out and the demoness brought her to the front to purchase it for her, setting her up with everything she needed as well.
With the most important thing done and out of the way, it was on to shopping, the most anxiety-inducing part of it all. As Arianda showed her to a variety of shopping malls that Minatumi had, Kitarune often made very scarce picks on what she wanted. A couple of nice dresses she saw, hoodies, shirts, pants, skirts, jackets. Sure, there was a lot of variety, but Arianda would be quick to notice how nervous she was, as well as how much interest she had in certain things, but refraining from mentioning anything. By the end, she had enough to only barely make it through a week, if not less.
After clothes, Arianda took her to a variety of other stores to give her the opportunity to pick out decorations for her room. New sheets, blankets, books, shelves, whatever her heart desired. While there were a number of things that she had picked, the total amount was still rather seldom to what she could have gotten. Nevertheless, the two went home, with Kitarune holding onto Arianda almost the entire way. As they entered, Kitarune wasted no time filling her closet and the rest of her room, using a small bit of magic to get any installations completed and books set up. Overall, it was a relatively smooth move-in process that served to make Kitarune more comfortable with her current living situation.
Later that night, Arianda, came by her door, dressed up incredibly nicely, asking her if she wanted to have dinner. Hesitantly agreeing, Kitarune figured she should dress up formally in return. Taking one of the kimonos that she had bought, she quickly changed and opened the door fully, giving Arianda a full view of the formally dressed mage.

Today had been quite the nice day. Finding Henrex's little sister after all this time; and taking Kita shopping so she had the necessities. Of course, it did take a good chunk of time to do all this shopping, and Arianda could easily tell Kita was being very conservative; not to mention the woman was extremely nervous. Kita never really let go of Ari as they went around town; Ari occasionally picking up a few extra things for Kita's sake. Mostly items she looked at but decided not to take; wanting to make sure she had what she needed. Of course, that likely was met with some light opposition from Kita; but Ari wanted to make absolutely certain that Kita had what she needed.
Of course, after a great deal of shopping, and then likely Kita decorating her room so it was no longer quite as bare; Arianda decided to ask Kita out to dinner far more officially. Indeed, she had offered, but she wanted to make it official; even if now the offer was a bit more of a date now than simply just an offer to go eat some food. Show up to Kita's door she did, asked her to dinner, and then waited patiently for Kita. The door soon opened and Ari's eyes beheld the woman before her; her breath and voice taken away in that instant as she heard Kita compliment her. Her words did not work for a few moments before she blushed and smiled warmly at Kita; her voice recovering finally after she had taken in how breathtaking Kita truly was.
"Y-You look beautiful, Kita~ And thank you... I hope it's not too much; I've never really dressed up for something like this. I can't say I know exactly how to dress for something like this; but I'm glad you like it~"
- Spoiler:
She smiled warmly at Kita, walking to the door with Kita before she extended her hand towards the woman once more; smiling warmly as she held her hand open palm for Kita to take. She gave her another warm smile before Kita either took her hand or not; and then Arianda lead Kita outside the house. Then, Arianda lead the girl to where she was taking Kita out to eat; a rather fancy Japanese restaurant that was in Minatumi. Apparently, it was to be quite authentic to actual food from Japan; albeit, it may not reflect what Kita may have eaten back when she was alive and lived in Japan. Arianda got them a table quite easily, thanking the person who seated them and plucked a reserved sign from the table they were at. It was in a nice place, and their table was in an area where Kita and Ari could enjoy themselves without prying eyes.
"I hope this is okay, Kita. I figured it would be nice to have a taste of home after all these years~"
Arianda gave Kita that warm smile, a smile that showed how much Ari really meant what she said. The demon simply just hoped that Kita would enjoy the food. After all, Ari mostly had what Henrex treated her to; and not something like this. Regardless of that, she wanted Kita to enjoy herself; much like Ari wanted to enjoy her time with Kita. She just truly and positively hoped that this dinner date would go extremely well. After all, Arianda had the hugest crush on Kita that she ever had on any single being.

It was nice to have a proper, full meal after so long in the Rukongai, as well as so long being in the Wastelands and looking for Henrex. Now, it seemed like everything was changing for the better. As Arianda led her through Minatumi, Kitarune couldn't take her eyes off the demon, or the hand that held her own. The whole day had been something else, and this was just the cherry on top. As the two walked into the restaurant, Kitarune took a moment to look around, only seeing now just how out of place she looked, compared to not only the other patrons but compared to Arianda too.
She was quickly overwhelmed by the feeling of awkwardness, gripping Arianda's hand tighter as she stuck close to the demoness while they continued to the back of the restaurant where, thankfully, they were alone. Pulling out her chair and sitting down, Kitarune found herself staring at the table, rather than at Arianda, her hands fidgeting in her lap as she waited for the waiter to come by for their drinks. Kitarune, out of pure instinct -- and panic -- switched from English to Japanese, blurting out the words for "green tea" so fast that the waiter had to do a double-take.
The mage immediately covered her mouth, her face turning red as she hid her face in her kimono, before quietly mumbling out the request again, this time in English. As the waiter took Arianda's drink order and left, Kitarune slowly peeked out from the kimono, taking a look at the menu that the waiter had left for them. Even just one look was enough for Kitarune to realize what kind of restaurant they were in, with Arianda's words only further cementing it in. Her eyes welled up with tears as she covered her mouth.
Words couldn't even begin to describe how happy she was. Kitarune lowered her head, stifling sobs before she openly cried from happiness. All of what had happened was so amazing, and this was the cherry on top: a Japanese restaurant for dinner. A taste of home that Kitarune had wanted for so, so long -- and now, she truly felt like she was somewhere she belonged. She felt like she was home once again.

Everything seemed to be going quite well so far. Arianda and Kita got through town without any problems, they were able to get a table with ease, and Ari was unable to keep her eyes off Kita. So what if Kita may be a little out of place due to what she was wearing? Arianda thought she looked beautiful. However, the woman seemed excessively nervous. It was very likely that, even though Kita didn't know what a date was, she possibly got a hint of what this dinner was; something more than just an apology dinner. However, Arianda soon found herself smiling warmly at Kita's shyness. She was absolutely adorable; and the demon could not help but look at the woman.
Kita ordered her drink soon enough, albeit she seemed to panic and say something in Japanese before recovering and asking for Green Tea. Arianda thought about it for a few moments before shrugging and asking for the same; along with some water on the side. Afterwards, Arianda picked up her own menu; keeping an eye on Kita. However, what she saw, and heard, surprised the demon so thoroughly she could only sit and watch for a few moments.
Kita was crying.
Arianda had thought she had somehow done something wrong, that she had somehow fucked things up without even meaning to; but then she saw the expression on her face and noticed it was not out of sorrow. Kita was absolutely overjoyed at this outcome, and that emotion was bursting forth like so. Arianda let out a small giggle as she slowly stood from her seat and moved towards Kita slowly; putting a hand on the woman's shoulder before that hand slid around her shoulders gently. Then, Arianda soon pulled Kita into such a warm, loving, hug; as long as Kita would allow it of course. So, the demon hugged Kita nice and close; giving her a great deal of comfort as her arms wrapped all the way around the woman and smiled warmly.
The odd thing was, there were no words to share; the demon simply just hugged the woman and comforted her physically. She made sure Kita knew she was right there, that she would comfort her, and that she was extremely happy Kita was happy in this moment. As the demon continued to hug Kita, she simply gently nuzzled against her; making sure she was okay. Besides, even if Kita was crying at the start of their date; how happy she was is probably the best start they could have obtained in this moment. All Arianda wanted from here on was for their dinner to go exceptionally well; and possibly some after dinner cuddles. It was likely too soon for a kiss; but Ari greatly wishes that she and Kita could have a very good first date. Even if Kita had no idea what a date was.

Despite the feeling of eyes on her, something that was quickly making her uneasy, things honestly couldn't have been better. She had a home, her brother, and a nice dinner to top it all off. Her crying eventually came to a stop as Arianda made her way over, embracing the mage warmly, with Kitarune returning the hug. As Arianda returned to her seat, Kitarune wiped her eyes, adjusting herself in her seat and straightening her kimono. She took occasional, small sips from her drink, remaining quiet for much of the downtime between the order for their food and it actually arriving.
As the food arrived, it was yet another round of silence before Kitarune set down her chopsticks, staring at the table for a bit before looking up at Arianda.
"So...how has Yuuto been these last few years? How did you two even meet?"
Kitarune only took her eyes off Arianda briefly, picking up her chopsticks as she took another bite of her food and another sip of her drink. It still felt unreal that he had been active in the world, yet she had been stuck in the Rukongai for so long, scared and alone for some time before she was picked up by Katsuhiko. She was curious to hear about how he'd been in the last few years, and if he had coped any better than she had from the loss of not only her life but also the life of their family and the destruction of their home.
Above all, she just wanted to feel in the loop again. She was a woman from a completely different era, trying to fit in almost six-hundred years later. It wasn't an easy process, but, she had to give it time.
