It is time to Awoo

Arms folded. Body a little sweaty from exertion. Yeah, that’s Elyss for you. She’s spent her whole morning helping here and there with small tasks, medium tasks, and large tasks. Some may even say she’s overworking herself, but that’s just how this redhead is. If she’s not helping one person’s life be easier, than she feels she’s not doing all she can. Besides, it’s a great way to connect with her fellow squad mates. Though, despite it all, she is only as capable as her body permits. So, for now, she finds herself rather worn out and taking a breather watching others go about their business and duties.

“Oh. Hey Ulv. Fancy seeing you here.”

“Ulv?”

Well then… This is a surprise indeed. Elyss didn’t quite believe it at first which is why there was a pause, but knowing the woman, none of this is surprising at all. Though, Ulv’s outfit is rather…

“Why are you dressed as a maid?”

She asks such with a deadpan expression, more so because of her exhaustion than anything else. Her arms folded over her chest as she sighs and shakes her head. Well, whatever.

That sounds like something Ulv would get herself into. Elyss isn’t all too familiar with the Captain Commander, but rumors fly and announcements were made. Elyss wonders however what Ulv did to get forced into this sort of servitude and how Takehiko is to blame. But, that honestly doesn’t matter right now. Elyss has never seen Ulv like this… so gentle and lacking the passion she always wears on her shoulders. It is a bit unnerving.

“I’m fine Ulv. Really… Just a bit tired is all. After a good short rest, I’ll be good to go.”

When did she even eat. She doesn’t remember having breakfast. Wait. Actually, she had something small, but she can’t quite remember what it was. However, she couldn’t stop her stomach from growling in anger at her idiotic response to a meal. Elyss really wanted to gut punch herself right now.

“...Um… Ignore that.”

No. Don’t look at her like that. Not like this. Elyss would prefer Ulv to simply drag her away against her will than to give her such a look. For some reason, it pluck a barely strung string in her brain reminding her of times she could not truly comprehend, moments in her life where such eyes have looked down at her before for actions she couldn’t remember. It hurts and makes her feel less like the adult she wants to be treated as. In fact, she feels like a child before the maid form of Ulv.

Without a word, she simply starts walking grabbing Ulv by her hand as she stepped on by to guide the larger woman away to someplace to eat. Arguing felt pointless. Everything besides Ulv’s look of disapproval felt pointless. A child scolded by their mother. What a strange site considering Ulv’s choice of clothing.

Elyss simply nods not wanting to speak in fear that her voice would come out far too weak for her liking. Though, she soon falls into step with Ulv unsure where this ramen shop in the Rukongai is even located. She first steeled herself a bit going over in her head to bolster her voice to now sound like a scared child.

“Lead the way.”

A place designed for fighters? Sounds interesting. Though, Elyss does wonder about the Hakuda expert. Elyss is always wondering about how to advance her fighting skills. Maybe this trip will yield more than just a good meal.

“I’m fine. The days go on and on.”

Life in the Gotei is pretty much her life if more organized. She trains, does her duties, help others, and then relaxes the rest of the day. Though, the fact that he is such a hard worker leaves her bored most of the time which is usually why she is all about helping others. If she does her tasks in an orderly fashion, why not help others with theirs? It has her tired as she is now, but she feels like she’s done something today that has actually benefited many.

“It’s nice doing something like this…”
