Words of chaos and ascendancy from broken wings, ladened with regret. The words that reveberated within the broken ruins of civilization, from a being whose blood, poured forth like blackened sludge underneath the crimson moon. Words of pain and lunacy, Words of fear and regret. The words of a frightened child that lay burdened by the sins of it’s parents, The words of a being far to young to bare the weights of the world upon it’s tender shoulders. From many mouths, many flavors assaulted Inami’s taste. The acridness of despair, the bitterness of fear, the spiciness of anger, the tartness of pride, and the shifting shades of uncertainty. It truly was a palatable sensation, and yet… the queen took no joy from this.

She took no joy from the blood that poured forth from her kin. The unceasing tide of her fears saturating the world in blood. She did not take joy in the sticky wetness that covered her gown, and soaked her royal garbs till they remained the color of blackest night. No, numbness besot her soul, and the queen’s emerald eyes lay bare and dull, like seas of emerald that had long since lost their hue.

”See~? You cannot help her, You are worthless.” The thought reverberated within her head, like the whisper of chaos, it caressed her mindscape and burdened it with deadened hues of gray, it’s demented laugher trilling against the fortified walls of her resolve. Yet.. she did not let it affect her, instead she pulled the eldrich horror in further, despite the turbulence of her melancoly causing the world to distort around them.

”Why you ask?”

The satin caress of inami’s voice was hoarse, and yet flowed brassily from her lips, echoing forth into the unfair world that was her reality. The faded smile that caressed her tired lips remained strangled and stagnent, it’s lilt crooked as if in defiance of the mocking melody that had cursed her life. Her eyes downturned, not looking at the sky, but peering into the depths of despair that remained right infront of her, and she looked into that chaotic visage lovingly. Despite the hate, and the hurt.

”Ah.. I see now.”
The thoughts continued to come, and as the queens fingers dug into the eldrich abomination, as the water in the seas rose, and the rocks asundered towards the sky, as gravity twisted and turned, the region surrounding her remained muted, dyed in monochrome until the words slipped softly from the queen’s burdened lips, and the torn and strangled smile upon her downtrodden face grew, even as tears fell unbidden from her eyes, tracking blackened streams down her face.

”Because, only once your emotions are lain out for the world to see. Only once you look not for the sky, but for the truth that lays within, will you truly be able to surpass the mortal coil that seeks to bind you. “

As Inami gently reached forth and poked calypso’s nose, her eyes rose into semi-circular moons, and her face was aglow with warmth, even within the sorrow, even admist the pain, it remained.

” Only once you accept the world for what it is, will you be able to move past it. Only when you realize what you were looking for was the very thing that remained steadfast beside you will you be able to cast aside your fears and uncertainties. “

Inami gently patted the back of calypso’s head as she continued to speak.

”Because you do not belong in the shadows, always uncertain if your happiness is built upon lies of fancy and euphoria born from the powers we hold. Your destiny is to know love and be loved. I cannot watch you slide into the abyss, and thus, even if it hurts, I will drag you from the false reality you have constructed for yourself.”

Inami paused, and slowly she inhaled, and let the pain go. She let her voice break, and she let her weakness show. She let the words escape that had remained trapped inside for so very long. The words she feared more than anything. The words she was sure would be her very destruction. The word that had caused her to erect her walls to push away all those that would impede upon her self-imposed world of sorrow.

”Because… we are family calypso, and I love you, You are my niece, blood of my blood, kin of my kin. I need no greater reason than that. “

Her words were barely louder than a whisper, and yet, as she spoke them, the pain that she had pushed away for so long settled upon her.

Teeth gnashed with a complicated array of emotions along the young one's blackened flesh, eyes looking around, bubbling to the surface and perishing just as they emerged, bearing notes of fear, sadness, anger, fury, confusion, falsified joy... All manners of emotion, all manners of weight, that the little one was far too young to understand enough to deal with. The sound of clicking, gritting, and soft breaths sung a symphony of pity to the being's relative, as all of a sudden a question was posed,

"Why do you ask?"

'Huh?'

That caused all tense activities to suddenly stop, her brazen gold eyes adjusting onto Inami as if they were calibrating lenses, pupils inhumanely large for a humanoid, as she stared blankly at the woman. The occasional inner thought flickered to the surface, but she largely had quieted down, eyes staring into Inami's being, as if silently begging for an answer.

While the woman's words didn't give the poor child an immediate fix, it made some gears turn in the ugly, warm, colored slurry that was emotions within the younger Asthavon. She sensed Inami's emotions, she heard them, felt them in her own heart, and after moments of pure silence, being embraced by the woman, small trickles of gold came from the edges of her eyes.

"..aaa... Aaaaaaa..."

The girl's voice was small, almost inaudible, but it slowly raised, until it took a very familiar sound; The sound of a young child's crying. Golden tears trickled from her eyes, in far lesser amounts than they had before, but something coming out was the point. She felt small in Inami's arms, and in her arms did she cry. Clawed, dark fingers dug into Inami's shoulders as the little one bawled into her chest, likely sinking in and causing punctures, but in a strange sense the crying child knew that the woman wouldn't simply drop her like that.
