Walking the Dog [Moonie]
Sun Sep 01, 2019 9:16 pm
The Droidmaker
Another day, and another set of tasks that needed looking into. Thanks to the two of them and their most recent choices and dealings, Angel and A were doing better than ever. Angel was momentarily off in another section of the lab, checking on the kinks of the software that wasn’t playing right with their newest hardware. It seemed that some of the more modern gadgets they had engineered for their newest batches of droids wouldn’t work well with the energy based software they already had. It wasn’t that big of a deal, but it required her attention and some lengthy testing to make sure it all worked as intended once again. It also meant that A would have to look into other tasks Angel would have supervised herself or that the two would have taken care of as one.
There was something that looked to require her immediate attention though. The Dolls had deployed countless miniature to small, and even mid sized scanner and recoinance droids all around the world. worked more or less like weather balloons did for scientists. These droids had no offensive capabilities, and their defensive skills were just enough to ward them from the elements, not anyone meant to do them harm. Unlike weather balloons though, these did not inspect the weather but rather the constant and fluctuating levels of spiritual energy around the world. It helped Angel to better time some of her most sensitive and energy intensive research, create charts, and gather data before and after big battles or in more or less populated areas. Over all, it was also a bit of fun that kept their overworking and overthinking minds at ease.
This time, it seemed like one of the droids had seen an out of the ordinary energy signal for the location it was stationed at for the last few months. Moments after it looked as though the droid had broken or been made to break. These units were meant to transmit data back to the different labs through a very complicated energy and mechanical network that resembled in some ways the ancient forms of VPN. Still, it couldn’t be traced back to them as the Dolls had created something that even her former mentor Mayuri and the former Captain Urahara would have no choice but to admire. In any case, Angel couldn’t stop her work to check on this matter, though A did make sure to leave her a note so that she was aware of the latest happenings. As for A, she would take the chance to go and check on the downed droid, and maybe peek into what had caused the disturbance. Although this Doll was far less nice and amicable than Angel, she the right set of skills to try and be understanding or kick the ass of whoever tried to make the situation more difficult than it needed to be.
”Whatever, let’s just deal with this, said A as she created a portal and stepped through it to the other side.
”I need to get back and have a drink.

Another Hollow dead. Another ripped-up and charred block of flesh crashing into the ground. Another patch of this land that had been tidied up of renegade Hollows. At least, Moonie had been fairly certain that they were Hollows. He was not entirely certain where he was now; if he had a map, he would discover that he had wandered far from Egypt, closer to the country of Zaire, stuck between a Rainforest and a spent mining operation. Unlike most areas, this had not been reconstructed from the ages long before when this country was under constant exploitation. The equipment was all in disrepair, and it made a wonderful place for a group of Hollows to call their home, consuming those who wandered unguarded into the forest.
Well, that was what they used to do. All they were doing now was fertilizing the several different kinds of flora that had taken up residence of this spent mine. The Moon Iramasha smirked, throwing his head back as he loosed out a long, drawn out laugh.
His entire body was covered in black flames from head to toe, making him look like a human torch of sorts. A purplish-black one. He shrugged, glancing back at the smoldering corpses, and then over to the strange device that had made a metallic CRASH sound about halfway through Moonie releasing his energy. Moonie was a berserker; he held nothing back, and anything that lacked the awareness to stay far away from him wound up crushed beneath his raw ferocity. His voice chuckled, reaching down and picking it up. He watched as his black flames ripped and tore away at its metal casing, at last releasing his form.
"Voi?"
The sharp, aware noise left his throat, making him turn his head all the way to the side. His blonde locks draped down his back as his head shifted, getting a better look. A… woman had arrived there. He toyed with the machine, tossing it up and letting it fall back down repeatedly. "Cahahaha… A drink sounds great. But if you're a friend of these guys…" Moonie's face distorted, a bloodlust-fueled grin possessing it.
Moonie's dog ears stuck prominently out of the mess of his hair. They were pointing toward the woman, and down below, his tail was wagging. He had essentially all but forgotten the reason he was here; he had wanted to further explore his Nature Cells. Ever since… before he lost his sight, and regained it, he had felt distant from the living creatures that he embodied. He had wanted to come here in order to assuage that strange uneasiness it gave him. Of course, the moment he had arrived, it had all come rushing back.
Hence, the golden tail behind him that was eagerly moving back and forth, pausing every once in a while as he contemplated her. Doesn't smell like a hollow… but we'll have to wait and see, won't we? He thought to himself, his expression devilish as he called out to her.
"If you're their friend, I’m going to have to smash you into the ground, too."

So soon as the man or beast, or whatever he actually was, spoke, the woman couldn’t help but roll her eyes. ’Voi’, was that Spanish, Latin, or just a sign of lesser intelligence? She had to wonder. Still, she came closer, forming what looked like a string or rope in a mixture of a semi translucent golden and silvery light. It was certainly not the kind of power or visual display that would be commonly seen used by the Hollow kind, but she wasn’t sure he could pick up on that.
“Does it look like we’re together?” She asked with a pretty clearly serious expression.
The energy rope would try and lace around the broken robot to snare it and bring it to her. If successful the metal pieces wouldn’t make it to her feet though. Instead, the metal would be fully encased by the light strings until it vanished out of thin air along with the energy. In layman terms it had more or less been forced through a carefully gated pathway into whatever lab or storage area she had prepared for it. Unfortunately only selected tools could go through this process in the same way that only certain input and outputs were meant to fit into select ports and so on.
“I’ll hand it to you though,” She added in what seemed to preclude a clear mocking tone.
“It's kind of adorable that you think yourself capable of that. But you’ve proven yourself to be a bit of an aggravating mess haven’t you? Destroying private property like that. Bad dog.”
The words weren’t meant to insult him entirely; just a little bit… a fair bit. Still, she was uncertain as to how much he would get as she had no clue how smart or he little this strange beast could actually be. For certain she didn’t need much encouragement to loosen up and release some steam, and this stranger was making it a very simple task to accomplish. In the end, she didn’t think anyone around could push her around enough to be dangerous, and if the situation ever presented itself, she could simply call on Angel to finalize the strongest blows.

The hairs on the back of his neck rose at the appearance of that peculiar whip she was holding. He did not like the look of it one bit; he had instinct enough to know what she was probably thinking of doing with that, faced with a creature like himself. Her question, though, made him cackle, lifting his nose up to the air, his eyes closing as he…
"Nnnnhf… hahh, Nnnnnnnnnhhhf…"
His mouth opened halfway, letting out the breath he had gathered. "Ca…ha. Look? No. But I can smell it on you. Oil. Steam. Chemicals. The same place as this thing." He informed her, his eyes watching as she lasso'd… the thing at his feet. His hackles had risen, but he did not pounce. Not yet. He was still observing her, seeing her wrapping the line around his prey. "…" He certainly did not like the fact that the thing simply disappeared. "Voi… what'd you do with it…?"
A much colder tone had entered into his voice, his hands meeting in the front of his body. His neck popped while she spoke, his blonde tresses covering his face. "Ca… Ha…" His mouth continued to laugh, before his hackles raised all the way out. He seemed to grow before her, his five foot eight frame taking up much more space. Out of his back, fur began to grow, spreading up and down his spine. Meanwhile, his ears shifted, pulling his face taut as they formed into furred points at the top of his head.
"Grrrrr…."
Moonie's teeth clenched, letting out a deep growl. "A dog? I came here to find that part of myself again; and look what I've found…" His right foot pushed onto the ground… launching him forward.
"SOME BITCH!"
The ground quaked beneath his steps. The trees shook, rumbling with each step of the man's body as it came barreling toward A. She had prodded the beast; and now she would taste the wild abandon he possessed. He went straight for her sternum, trying to body her, knees bent and head bowed, his arms attempting to wrangle around her waist. If his skull made contact, she would feel the brunt of his skull smashing straight into her solar plexus.
The first step was simple; he wanted to throw her off her feet. If Moonie's grapple was successful, he would leverage his shoulders and arms, using his substantial upper body strength to throw her off balance once the wind had been knocked from her body. The dirt beneath his bare feet cracked as he dug his heels into it; his tail sticking straight out behind him. She had challenged him; she was ready for him to prove her wrong. That was all that made sense to him at this point; so that was what he would show her. Mind, body, and soul.
|
An ear-shattering roar left his mouth after the impact, all manner of bird and beast quickly fleeing in every direction. His lungs were enough to call across almost every battlefield; hearing it this close up, with this degree of intensity, would likely leave the woman's head spinning. After his attack, Moonie's head would raise once again, a shining light in his eyes. Stretched out across his face, though… was an uncontrollable grin. She had spunk; he liked that. He liked that a lot. Maybe she would help him find his way back to his bestial nature within this forest. Maybe she would have the bite to stir his soul…

His comments drew a smile on her, not one of humor but rather one of palpable satisfaction. There was a retort or two she could make, but for the time being, she was enjoying toying with the thoughts in her head. Ironic that the beast emphasized it being a thing; pot, meet kettle. In any case, though they were similar in some minute regard, their differences were as clear as a sentient and intelligent being was to her compared to the speaking animal in front of her. She was right. He spoke for a bit, but she gave him no response as she didn’t think him capable of understanding. It seemed to be a far more efficient time saving exercise to just spare her words. And sure enough, the beast did as beasts do and launched at her after being unable to cope or handle a situation.
“Petty and predictable. Pathetic.”
A was strong; just marginally less so than Angel, but she had a nearly equal level of genius to boot. More importantly, specially now, her aid was far less forgiving and far less likely to throw caution to the wind. When the beast launched, though she was confident in the absolute overengineering of her form that was geared for close combat, she figured she would have some fun first. In battles A was able to dominate Angel unless she both removed her blindfold and used everything in her repertoire. This time around a blade of was created from a quick golden light of reishi. It was unclear if the opponent would even know what that meant if explained to him, so she didn’t. The blade was meant to be held with two hands but her level of physical strength and construction allowed her to handle it with one hand as if it were a toothpick. The actual blade was at least twice her opponent’s size. While the blade leaf was wide, the cutting edge was so thin as to challenge a sheet of paper.
The physical strength and speed A could apply unto it, coupled with the incredible sharpness and design of the blade made it ideal for cutting through most things like a hot knife through butter. It was done specifically since the large size and thickness of her opponent meant that the surface area would only make it even easier to try and cut through. It shouldn’t have needed much force, but A would gladly apply as much force as needed. Whether it cut through and past him or simply dug an inch or two under his flesh it did not matter. Dodging with her blade and opponent size and at that distance was frankly out of the question. Catching the blade would only transmit the wound from the chest to his hands, assuming the little space, the relevant speed, and the unknown nature of energy created blade would allow him enough time.
“Be a good boy, and I may just think to throw you a bone, dog.”
Regardless of which outcome had come to pass, the blade would have disappeared into the same golden and blue light as soon as it had stopped...wherever that was. Her own swing and movement was meant to lead her to being right behind him by his blindspot. It was meant to allow her to plant a foot right over his right lats from behind while delivering an extremely powerful kick with the other leg to the right side of his face. The shoes and lower leg garments she wore were not unlike those of Angel. They were meant to mimic the anti hierro designs used by known individuals in the past, allowing them to survive the strenuous force and strength as delivered by individuals in the physical scale of strength and durability of two twin-like Dolls.

”SO STOP IT THEN!”
He called back at her, leg smashing into the ground, the grown contained within each and every syllable. He could feel his blood pumping in his ears. He had psyched himself up from his earlier roar, If she thought that the raw size of her blade was going to be enough to make him slow down even the slightest bit, she was incorrect. She seemed to be just the kind of fighter that Moonie had been expecting. However, she seemed distinctly more interested in cutting his body to pieces than trying to crush and stress his bones. That was unfortunate. Also unfortunate was her choice in using a blade.
CRRNNK… CRRRRRNNNNK!
A cut appeared along the outside of his body, denting into it, leaving a significant bruise… but she had not managed to break his skin. Not yet. Perhaps it would not be the blade that broke, but her arm. It was at this point in time that she would discover exactly what had caused the ground to shake as badly as it had; the man was much, much heavier than he appeared to be. The blade dug in, and if she did not abandon her attack, it would indeed penetrate his flesh, pressing a cut into his hide, reaching the maximum amount of stress possible on both the sword and her arm. She had managed to stop his body moving forward, but the momentum was now battling against her strength, and the durability of the blade she wielded.
A flurry of golden light strewn around them from its dispersal, the Moon Iramasha's eyes tracking her all the while. If she paid close attention, she would notice that taking that impact had not deterred his focus in the slightest; his eyes were locked onto her, tracking her even as she swung into his blind spot. So he did the most logical thing; throw out his left arm. One foot slammed into the ground, turning his face and directly receiving her kick into his head.
A tooth went flying off, a spurt of blood kicking up on his face. A magnificent bruise was left behind, making his body jerk, right arm seizing up from the shock. His left arm, though, went straight for her support leg. She had bent into his blind spot; but Moonie seemed more than prepared for the contortions required to hook his arm around her leg. Flighty as she was, it was apparent that he was both willing and able to take a beating. The more she tried to get in close for these kinds of attacks, the more the battle-hardened Canine would take advantage of her attacks. "SO THAT'S HOW YOU WANT TO PLAY, HUH?" He demanded of her… the strength he possessed tightening his shoulder as he tried to throw her directly into the ground with a swing of his body, releasing her once he was certain his momentum was affecting her.
His eyes were locked directly on her as he stepped forward, his hand moving up to the wound on his chest. "You're strong without transforming." Moonie commented, his clawed fingers bringing back trails of blood from beneath the torn piece of cloth he wore across his chest.
"GIVE ME MORE THAN A BONE."
|
A flare of black of energy surged out from Moonie's body, as at last his true spiritual pressure came to bare. His body stiffened, the tail out his back becoming covered in black flames. His spine bent forward, before reaching back again, his hands spread out from his body, arm muscles entirely rigid. Black flames sprung from his flesh, coating him from head to foot. Where his feet rested, the grass and the very ground were shredded into, apparently rubbed by something like extremely forceful sandpaper, dispersing the grass and terraforming the dirt into miniature sanded craters. He wore an armor of that fire now; it seemed to leave his hide alone
Meanwhile, his spiritual energy was flaring upward, coursing through the forest. It was now plenty obvious; the man she was dealing with was not your ordinary creature. Covered in black flames, he began stepping toward her again…
Through those black flames… she could still see his wolfish grin.
