» Purpose: The purpose of this character is to supply a head to the aforementioned Shihoin clan, a noble family in the Rukongai and an asset to the Gotei as a whole.



» Personality: One thing, if anything, to know about Yūshirō is that he is a family man through and through. To Yūshirō, being the head of an entire clan means that every action he takes and ever decision he makes must be in the best interest of his family. He's also incredibly emotional, something that's normally surprising for those that meet him for the first time. While he is strong enough to not let his emotions get the better of him in situations, the way he shows them is normally through everyday actions, whether he gives you a hug every time he sees you or swears at you whenever he sees your face. He's incredibly blunt with his ideas, though he lacks self-confidence so rarely does he voice his ideas even if they are good ones.

Despite his meekness, those who he is able to call family tend to follow him for his personality alone. Not only that, he is incredibly charismatic, which blends well with his other traits when he's at his most vulnerable. Yūshirō isn't a big fan of fighting, having fought plenty in his past to the point where he refuses to take part in any war or conflict unless it intervenes with his way of life or his family.

Subsequently, he's also strict and a stickler for rules, something that his children either love or hate. He was instilled with the old rules of his family and never really questioned them, so when it came to raising his kids he tried the same.



» History: Yūshirō had lived his childhood in the shadow of his sister, the great Yoruichi Shihoin. It's what should be expected, being the second born in a noble family. The two weren't really close with each other for reasons out of their control; they had shared no interests so they didn't have anything to bring them together. In reality, he had a sort of infatuation for her that slowly turned into idolization. Back then, he was nothing incredibly special but meanwhile his sister was a captain in the Gotei and probably one of the coolest people he knew. This influence would later bring him to join the Gotei though it was obvious from the get-go that he was nowhere close to his sister in ability, talent, or potential. So he was forever stuck in the shadow of Yoruichi. That was until she was exiled.

This event had broken his image of her. While he was still externally excited to see her and always wanted to help in any way he could, he would never see her as his cool older sister who was once a captain, thinking of her more as someone who abandoned her family for her own self-gain.

One of the biggest turning point for him was World War 3, where he had fought vigilantly for the Gotei but by the end he had forfeit his shinigami powers in favor of starting and taking care of his family. On the battlefield he had met his soon to be wife who was a refugee. At first, he didn't care much about her, though through her approaching him they became closer. After they married, he had no reason to continue working for the Gotei. By the end of his career, the highest position he had held was a 4th seat.

It was roughly 50 years after that he had his first child, and his heir, Chidori. From the beginning it was quite obvious that Yūshirō had no idea what he was doing when it came to parenting, so he took the same approach that his parents took. I mean, look at how he turned out.

But then look at how Yoruichi turned out.

And thus the two did not have the best of relationships. Often things got physical, and due to her lack of control, he was often wounded by her flames.



Animal Form: Like most members of the Shihoin Clan, Yūshirō has access to an animal form. Like most of the royal blood, it is also felinE related. In this form, Yūshirō becomes a panther, though its hair is white like his. Not only that, along the body of the panther are the scars that he has on his torso, and he walks with a limp because he doesn't use his form often. There's no real buff or any effect on him when he's like this, besides the ability to always land on his feet.
