Expectations were that one of the wildest of Shadow Fall's powerhouse of devils, demons, hollows, and freaks were going to be the first ones to show up and give this party a scar to remember after The Demon King's entrance. Unfortunately, if anyone was thinking such thing -- they'd be sorely disappointed with the arrival of the pale-skinned, blue-eyed mistress of glum otherwise known as Saiko Mori.
This lone maiden in a shade-drenched dress was The Archduchess of The Sixth Circle of Shadow Fall. Yet, The Mother of Woe's history drips further beyond that surface level knowledge. With a stench of betrayal oozing from her spirit, the woman's hands were stained in the blood of her ex-comrades of the Gotei to attain something more through the promises, wishes, and magic which the hands of demon kind possessed. For her secret promise held deeply to the woman's heart, she drank this satanic blood, forsake everything and forever drenched her path in the isolation of a betrayer never to know the light of a day without guilt.
However, one does not always have time to actively reimagine death filled imaginings of the past. No. Reality will always snap you back into the here and now rather quickly. Since, for Saiko, the uneasiness of various stares from other officials of different factions kept The Lone Half-Breed on her toes. Indeed, it made the woman uncomfortable to the ninth degree, but if there was one thing she learned in this life, it was that there was a time to break time and a time to conceal one's terror. And, in this moment, it was best she remain stoic.
The woman never took many thrills in placing herself in social circumstances, but this Gala held some kind of importance toward Shadow Fall's objectives. Saiko was not clear as to how, but she was instructed to merely observe for the time being and deal with the uncomfort. So while her nerves were ready to rip right out of her skin, the woman took to the comfort of a cool glass of maroon doused wine in order to let the seas of relaxation from a good drink drown her anxieties.
Not one to desire being in the spotlight for too long, the likes of Saiko wasted no time finding a refuge in the form of a balcony edge which overlooked the crimson skies of hell. She could see the mountains, the bloody heavens and miles of endless earthland that spread away from The Temple of Sinners. It was a relief to breathe in this outdoor air, let her demonic body feed from this prime satanic energy and allow the half-breed time to compose herself as she continued to take drink after drink of fine-wine to get this miserable day over with.
"Why am I even here.....?"
There was the only thing she uttered out before taking a dispirited sigh; exuding a literal cloud of shade around herself which brought with a drop in the temperature, a sense of dread and filled the outdoors with a heavy scent of woe.
