I. Personality
» Personality:
Free-Spirited/Chaotic: It's hard to get Kichirou to feel down. No matter what the scenario, no matter what problems he faces, no matter how hopeless it seems, he will always try his hardest to find a way to succeed. He believes that one is only truly defeated when they give up hope and stop trying. He believes this to be proven by the fact that when one dies, they just enter the soul cycle to be reborn. He also really hates it when someone tries to alter the soul cycle, seeing it as a perversion of the foundation of reality. That isn't to say that he hates those who prevent themselves from dying and entering the soul cycle, he just hates those who interfere with the working of the soul cycle in some way. Kichirou also likes to do what he wants and heavily dislikes being restricted not to do so. He believes that each being has an innate right to their freedom unless they would unrighteously take that freedom from another being. And even though he believes that because of the soul cycle death isn't the end, it doesn't mean that he doesn't hold life in high value. He believes that every good being has the right to live.
Proactive/Aggressive: When things need doing, Kichirou likes to do them now. He views that wasting time on being indecisive will only put you at more of a disadvantage. Kichirou also likes to speak his mind, thinking that if he doesn't, it'll only lead to problems later. If he doesn't agree with someone, he'll tell them exactly what he thinks. He believes that this straightforward attitude helps make sure a team can communicate well. Kichirou also has a bit of a short temper in the sense that he doesn't well tolerate what he views as wrong. If someone does something he sees as wrong, he will try to address it as soon as possible. In his eyes, you either shape up or get out. He views that real heroes shouldn't need other people to morally and emotionally steer them; if your own moral compass is too damaged to be used, you're not fit to be a hero. Kichirou can at times be viewed as reckless or somewhat brutal. He believes the best way to improve is by trial, as it gives someone training and experience. He often finds it hard to hold back in a fight, be it a serious one or simply a spar.
Kind/Possessive: Kichirou is a relatively nice person. If he sees someone in need, he'll help them however he is able. However, he also views that for a person to improve they must undergo their trials, and so in certain situations he'll only help to a point. But as long as it's to help them to that point, Kichirou will always offer his assistance. Kichirou likes to help people improve, as he views that by helping them develop, he has managed to put at least some of his strength and ideals into them, thereby spreading more good in the world. However, there are times when Kichirou can take this a bit too far. After he's helped someone develop stronger, he views them as a symbol of his influence in the world. Because of this, he can become attached to them, which can lead to him attempting to find any flaw in them and trying to teach them how to correct it, which can sometimes feel a little intrusive. He also tends to develop strong bonds with people he works with, making betrayal hurt that much more for him.
Determined/Power Hungry: Kichirou's primary goal in life is to become stronger, and he believes that the best way to do so is by trial. Because of this, he likes to challenge himself, such as by sparring with stronger opponents and the like. When faced with a hopeless situation or problem that seems too great for him to overcome, Kichirou will still charge headfirst into it, laying his life on the line if need be. However, this isn't all because of his thirst for power, as he does believe in doing good and feels very passionately about his beliefs. However, his striving for more power can sometimes be seen as obsessive. It can also make him at times seem headstrong or brutish. Kichirou's stubbornness and tendency to ignore others who think ill of him doesn't help this. Some may say that Kichirou has such an intense yearning for power only because he wants to be able to do anything and get anything he wants, and these people would be completely right. Kichirou wants to become stronger so that he can do what he wants, which is to spread as much good in the world as he possible can, thereby proving to the world that heritage does not define who you are.
I. History
» History: Kichirou was born in a small town located somewhere in Japan. He was born a hybrid, a mix of shinigami on his father's side and demon on his mother's side. He never knew anything about his father, other than his race, and his mother never gave him any more information than that, even when asked about it. Realizing she would never budge, Kichirou eventually stopped asking, figuring that since his father wasn't there, it wasn't worth knowing about him anyway. Kichirou's mother had chosen a quiet place to raise him. She did this because she wanted to teach him to accept his hybrid nature while not running the risk of negative outside influence affecting his view of himself, which could hold him back in life. His mother told him that he was just as good if not better than purebloods of either of his races, and he took this to heart, never once feeling doubts about his self-worth.
This self-worth bred in him a powerful desire to prove his worth to the world and show it that he indeed was just as good as any pureblood. Kichirou's mother capitalized on this ambition, beginning to train him how to fight at a very young age. She explained to him that those who were strong survived and controlled their own fate. She trained him brutally, often resulting in him having one or more broken bones, but she said that this taught him how to endure pain, and how to stay focused in battle even when injured. He eventually found out that he didn't have the connection to Za Koa that normal demons did, which barred him from most of the powers normal demons have. Because of this, he mainly focused on improving his Devil's Arm, which was the manifestation of his demonic power.
One day, after he had turned eighteen, Kichirou's mother never returned home. He wasn't too worried about her, so he trained by himself that day, and the next, and the next. He went out looking for her, but every trace of her had vanished. Kichirou waited longer, but after weeks of living and training alone, he realized that his mother was never coming back. He never learned about what happened to her, where she went, or whether or not she was alive. Soon after, he decided that with her gone, there was no longer any reason for him to stay any longer. Without somebody to train him, he would stagnate, the idea of which he hated. So he set off on his own, leaving his home behind for good in his continuing search for more power. He spent some time wondering the earth, fighting hollows and the like in an attempt to make himself more powerful.
After some time, Kichirou thought of a way to make himself significantly stronger. From birth till this day, he had never explored his shinigami half. Figuring doing so would be beneficial, he sought out Soul Society. Upon arriving, he immediately enrolled in the shinigami academy and, while he was accepted, they didn't so much welcome him. The other trainees tended to stay far away from him, which he figured was probably due to his apparent demonic heritage. Though instead of being disheartened by this, he simply didn't care. If they chose to ignore him, he'd ignore them in turn, simple as that. They weren't worth the time and effort trying to befriend. He had come here to become more powerful, and he didn't need their help to do that. So, for most of his time at the academy, he kept to himself.
Going through the years, Kichirou developed a bit of a mean streak. He had adopted a rather uncaring attitude towards the other trainees, and while he didn't go out of his way to bully them, he didn't tolerate them being in his way. During combat training, when another trainee would get in the way, Kichirou would often smack them back out of it. They often complained about this, but again, he didn't care too much. This habit of his eventually died down, and Kichirou would try to avoid throwing people out of his way whenever he could. After this, a few people would occasionally approach him, and while he didn't mind it if they didn't, he also didn't dislike it when they did. Once he started acting more like a team player, some people started looking past his demonic nature, though the majority still avoided him.
Performance wise, Kichirou was doing pretty good. This shinigami stuff was coming to him a lot more easily than back in his demon training. Noticing this, he supposed that he might just be more in tune with his shinigami half than his demon half. His favorite part of being a shinigami by far was Hakuda, followed by Kido. Hakuda because he just loved punching things, and his Devil's Arm made the act of doing so just that much easier. Kido because, well, Kichirou found that he liked to blow things up. However, even though he had favorites, Kichirou made sure not to shirk in his other lessons. He figured the best road to power would be to master every aspect he could, without focusing on some too much and neglecting others, though Kichirou still found that he was a bit better at the punching part than the other, less straightforward things. Because of his determination and hard work, Kichirou graduated from the shinigami academy with relatively high marks.
After graduation, Kichirou immediately chose to join the combat division. It was an obvious choice for him, as he viewed a division focused on combat to be ideal for making himself stronger. The first thing he noticed that was different in the combat division was his reception. Unlike in the academy, the people here didn't seem to care about his demonic heritage. The only thing they cared about was whether or not he could pull his weight and hold his own, and after proving he could, they accepted him. This time was the first time in his life that Kichirou let himself relax a bit. Aside from constant training, he spent most of his time starting playful fights with other combat division members, teasing the other divisions, and punching bad things in the face. He enjoyed his time there.
Sometime later, when the command division absorbed the combat division, Kichirou went along with it. However, he had started to have some doubts, something he didn't do all that often. He had begun questioning whether or not he belonged in the Soul Society. He had unlocked his shinigami powers, so his goal for coming here was completed. He had also started coming into conflict with the Soul Society's ideals, which wasn't because of the division transfer, as he still had fun in the new combat division, but rather the fact that throughout the Soul Society it was usually always order this and order that. Kichirou was a person who valued his freedom very highly. It wasn't that he felt that the Soul Society was wrong or unjust, he just couldn't connect with its ideals. Therefore, he figured the decision was simple enough and left, for he no longer had any reason to be there. Once more, he set foot on earth to travel in search of strength.

» Equipment: None
Kichirou keeps his Zanpakuto on his right hip in a detachable holster.
I. Sealed Powers
» Zanpakutô Name: Clockwork Beast
» Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance: Clockwork Beast, or Clock as Kichirou likes to call him, appears to be some large bronze automaton. He stands with a height of eight feet and has a shoulder-to-shoulder width of thirty inches. His outer body seems to be a framework of sorts, consisting of many rectangular pieces of metal, some straight and some curved, connecting with each other to form a kind of exoskeleton while leaving many openings. His inner body consists of hundreds of small, semi-molten gears. These gears are always moving, not just by rotating but also by shifting slowly around his body, never staying in the same pattern for long. Both his inner and outer body give off a small glow as if from heat, though despite its apparently semi-molten state, his body is only pleasantly warm to the touch.
» Zanpakutô Spirit Personality:
Kind and Quiet: Clock is very kind-hearted, believing that no matter how powerful you are, you should always try your hardest to be kind and benevolent to those around you. Although he, like Kichirou, thirsts for power, he believes that one must be careful with acquired power, as it can blind you and warp your moral standing. Clock also acts as a sort of moral guide for Kichirou, warning him whenever he's about to cross a line or commit an evil act. Kichirou welcomes this guidance, using Clock as a sort of alarm for when he's about to go too far. Where Kichirou is reckless, Clock is a lot more calm. He believes the path to mastering combat is through calculation and observation, though he sees the merit in his master's youthful fury. Clock is also much like Kichirou in the belief that the best way to improve oneself is through trial. Because of this, Clock will refrain from aiding his master in combat unless he's needed or the situation is dangerous enough.
» Inner World: Kichirou's inner world is very connected to his state of mind. At peak condition, the world consists of an endless flat plain of smooth, black stone. Seemingly randomly scattered about this plain are large, lustrous bronze pillars. Each of these pillars stand fifty meters tall and are twenty meters in diameter. The placement of these pillars follows no particular pattern, though each one is close to each other, being around ten to fifty meters away from each of the pillars around it. The sky is a bright blue with no clouds to be seen. However, as Kichirou accumulates stress or strays from his moral path, his inner world begins to change. The smooth black stone starts to heat up, eventually becoming magma which keeps getting hotter and more fluid, rising as it does so. The bronze pillars that dot the landscape become dull and blackened. The sky begins to cloud and become stormy. In the worse case scenario, barely a meter below the tops of the blackened pillars is a bubbling ocean of bright active magma. The sky is a constant storm, with lightning flashing from cloud to cloud. A torrential downpour meeting the active magma causes great amounts of steam to rise, causing the landscape to become foggy.
» Zanpakutô Appearance:
Overall Length: 3 ft 4.6 inch.
Blade Length: 2 ft 4.7 inch.
Handle Length: 10.6 inches.
» Sealed Zanpakutô Power:
Heat Generation: The blade of Kichirou's sealed zanpakuto is able to continually generate heat, which makes the blade grow brighter the hotter it gets. The blade is also able to absorb heat from its surroundings to the same effect as generating it, which can potentially negate some fire-based attacks or defenses. The blade can only absorb heat from things it's nearly in contact with. In this state, the blade ignites whatever it touches to increasing effect the hotter it is. Upon ignition, the effected area will be covered in flames which stick to surfaces, making them harder to put out than normal flames. This effect can also be used to ignite non-physical things, allowing it to swiftly burn through some spiritual and energy-based attacks and defenses. The flames generated by this ability tend to burn through more volatile and non-solid forms of energy more quickly. However, the blade loses heat as time goes on, which means it needs to generate or absorb more heat to upkeep its ability. The blade's capacity to store and keep heat is proportional to the user's power. The user can also exhaust heat from the blade at will, and this can be done at a very fast pace. This rapid exhaustion automatically occurs whenever the blade goes beyond its heat storage capacity.
I. Shikai
» Shikai Appearance:
Overall Length: 4 ft 2.5 inch.
Blade Length: 3 ft 3 inch.
Handle Length: 10.5 inches.
» Shikai Abilities:
Heat Generation 2: This ability functions much like the sealed state ability except for some differences. In this state, the blade's capacity to store heat doubles and its ability to keep heat becomes so efficient that heat is only lost if the user wills it, which means that the blade hardly ever cools down except when being used to attack or defend. The heat absorption ability becomes more effective, the range of the heat absorption now being proportional to the user's power. Also, absorbed heat may now be converted directly into energy instead of being used to heat up the blade, which allows the user to use sources of heat to replenish their energy or give them a temporary power boost. The flames generated from the strike of his blade strengthen, burning at a faster pace and adhering more firmly to what they're burning. In addition to all of this, Kichirou can use this ability on both his zanpakuto and his body.
Ignition: With this ability Kichirou can shunt a short burst of energy from anywhere on his zanpakuto or body. Immediately after this the energy ignites and explodes, causing a brief but strong burst of force. He can use this ability in a variety of ways, such as to propel himself through the air, speed up small movements, or put more force behind an attack. Kichirou can instead eject a constant stream of igniting energy, causing a continuous powerful propulsion. This propulsion can also be used in multiple ways, such as a more elongated burst of speed or as an attack, as Kichirou can control the spread of the energy ejected and how fast it burns, turning it into a high-impact flamethrower of sorts. Another use of this ability is to expel energy from all over a location on Kichirou's body or zanpakuto, causing it to become enwreathed in flames upon ignition. He can use this coating of flames as a defense and to increase his attack power. The flames generated by this ability may also burn non-physical objects in the same manner as Heat Generation.
Molten Creation: Another ability of Clockwork Beast is to form its energy into bronze-colored molten metal. Even though this metal appears molten and fluid, it reacts as if solid. Kichirou can shape this metal at will, allowing him to use it for a variety of purposes. Using this ability, Kichirou can coat his body in this metal, providing him a defensive shell against minor to moderate attacks. By controlling the properties of this metal, Kichirou can make it transparent enough that he can see through it, allowing him to protect his eyes. He may also consciously allow oxygen to sift through it, allowing him to cover his mouth and nose and still breathe. Kichirou will usually only use this ability in this way when he needs to, as although he can freely shape the metal created at will, covering himself in a shell of it will still somewhat slow his movement. This ability may be used to form objects out of the metal generated and then remotely control those objects. The strength and amount of the metal generated is proportional to the user's power.
I. Unique Abilities
Devil's Arm: Devil's Arm is Kichirou's right arm and the physical manifestation of his demonic power. It can function just as a normal arm can, but can do a few things that normal arms can't. Devil's Arm has no supernatural abilities of its own, but its physical prowess still makes it very useful. Both its natural defense and attack power are triple that of the rest of Kichirou's body, making it a valuable physical asset in battle. Kichirou is capable of using Body Manipulation, but only on Devil's Arm. Affinity For Hell only amplifies the power of Devil's Arm. Aside from this, he has full access to the non-racial demon abilities and no other demon traits aside from Akuma Kyodo. Akuma Kyodo only applies to Devil's Arm for physical defense. Other defenses Akuma Kyodo provides, such as magical and spiritual defense, are utilized by the entire body.
