» Why: Elena has been doing her best to learn what her powers are and become stronger as a result. In the two threads she's learned what it means to be a Shinigami, what some of their powers are, and how to fight Hollows. She's been killing what are basically cannon fodder in an attempt to progress. Another thing that Elena has done is get in touch with her zanpakuto spirit and has been set on a path to learn its name, but only in due time. For now she's stuck finding her purpose in life as a substitute Shinigami.
