Walk towards the Light. [OPEN/Quincy Only]

THE QUINCY IN TRAINING
Having arrived from Karakura Central to the City of Light this young Quincy stepped out of the Shadows that he had used to travel through small tears he had created to the dimensional fabric to arrive which quickly fixed themselves as he exited his black tunnel. His golden eyes shined with determination to get so strong he could be the best and strongest Quincy there was and he'd work to get there. No little short-cuts ever rivalled the benefits of old-fashioned hard work.
He was dressed pretty casual and his reddish hair hang loosely around his head, being a rather new member of the Vandenreich he was named a mere soldat since he still needed to train, but hey, from humble beginnings comes the strongest fighters and it was just a title. Not a measure of his strength. Quickly thinking about food he'd take off, not using his Hirenkyaku or running, but was walking pretty fast as he looked for some food. Although turning a corner he saw a couple of punks talking down to another Quincy, she looked a little meek and not as strong as the others.
Listening in he heard about them say something about her being weak just because she was a Mixed-Blood Quincy, harsh words followed like impure, accident and Seidou was mad as hell when he heard that.
"Hey you lot, leave her alone you assholes. Just cause she's not like you snobs doesn't mean she is any less better. Hell, she's at least a better person than you bullies."
Quickly angering them he took off, doing his best to dodge the people and crowd as the group of three stronger quincy chased him doing his best to keep them focused on him.

??? - VALOR DUVENSKII
These folk were really making it difficult for her to do her job.
Who did they think they even were? What audacity did they possess to pick at her pedigree? They did not know her; and as far she knew the only reason they dared insist that she was an impure Quincy was because her spiritual thread was different from their own. They could probably sense it, as she could theirs. She could see why one might make such a mistake, but truly were they uninformed. If anything, her blood was purer than anyone's here. How she inherited her powers told all, and it was foolish for these folk to presume to know her.
Yet, she was helpless as far as resisting went. These bumbling numbskulls couldn't harm her, but they were certainly wasting their time. By decree of the First herself, she was not to harm another Quincy in this city, nor was she to cause a scene here either. As far as the Vandenreich was concerned, Valor had arrived her uninvited. Yet her intentions were not filled with malice or dishonesty... She merely was sent here to overlook the Vandenreich's dominion on behalf of her true affiliation—the Eldrazi. She was to join their ranks, even, as if a spy.
"P-Please... I need to b-be somewhere else..." she fake-stammered, looking away from the brute who shoved his face close in. She was backed up against a wall by a much larger individual, one arm blocking her path. She hadn't imagined the Vandenreich Quincies as the bullying type, so her first impressions of this place were already not going well. She tried to handle things diplomatically, but if that didn't work soon, she'd have to—
Suddenly a new voice sounded from the sidelines, another Quincy piping up to white knight for her. She gave him an annoyed look that the others couldn't see, which turned incredulous the moment he turned tail and jetted off. Are you stupid?! she screamed internally, disbelieving of his actions. If he could not even fight back against scrubs like these then why was he throwing himself into danger. Even worse, the thugs took the bait and started chasing after him for his wanting taunt. It was like a cartoon.
Before she knew it, she found herself intervening. With the subtle flick of the wrist, a small glimmer raced out of Valor's sleeve towards the pair of bullies who were in pursuit of the young boy. That barely noticeable glint was the only indication of the Quincy wire that she sent towards their legs. A few more deft turns of the wrist and it would have entangled itself around them at the knees. Her body turned and she started heading in the opposite direction, just as she heard the pair of bodies collapsing to the ground with an unceremonious thud. Those folks may try to worm their way out of this one, but they'd soon find the wire had already bound them up to the neck, preventing most movement.
Cleansing her hands of the crime, she cut the wire from her wrist and continued on her merry way, leaving the mess behind her to fix itself. Under her breath she muttered, so that there was nobody whom could hear: "There, kid. Now we're even. Back to business..."

Well something interesting seemed to have happened as Seidou turned, having his Blut Augen active so that he could use his bow to a much greater accuracy as he was ready to turn and fight but something was definitely happening. His enhanced eyesight watched as wires were manifesting, spiritual weapon? Even if it wasn't it would still be be searched for and then. THERE! Right there! The glint of sunlight on steel coming from... her!? The very girl he had intervened in to give her a chance to get away was combating her opponents.
"Huh? If you are able to handle them then why...."
A quizzical expression crossed his face as she finished up the job and turned to leave! No way was he letting her get away, she was trying to slip away. Something was fishy about her and Seidou was curious as to what that might be. Using his enhanced visual prowess he kept tabs on her, using his Shatten to break into a "shadow" and appear next to her while she was walking away.
"Well.. Someone's got some skills. Wires. What an interesting choice of weapon, I'm Seidou, Seidou Yashida but you can just call me Seidou, can I get your name? and I must ask.... why'd you let those stupid pure-blooded punks beat you around anyway? You're clearly strong enough to handle yourself."
While Seidou was smart he didn't really think there'd be spies in the Licht des Stadt, why would there? It isn't like the Vandenreich were anything but neutral and they weren't ones to pick sides so naturally he'd assume Valor was here as a fellow Quincy and so was he in danger? Maybe but they were still relatively in a crowded place and it wasn't in a spy's best interest to give away her position but who knows maybe Seidou might be a source of information.

She didn't get far down the pathway; her senses picked up the distinct use of powers and the sudden appearance of... that same kid. She didn't need to look back to confirm it or anything—with that ridiculous red hair there was no one else it could possibly be. At first she was confused, up until the point when he immediately brought his charges up against her, calling the use of her wires. As Valor internally beat herself over the top of her head, this boy was poking his nose into her business and making more problems for her. And this time... it was her own fault.
Damn it! I shouldn't have bothered helping! she screamed at herself within the confines of her mind, with aggravations unheard by anyone else. Truth be told, allowing those buffoons to do what they will with this kid would have been more fortuitous for her, allowing her to get away without drawing any attention to herself. It wasn't as if she had any ties with the folk here, it was just a random act of kindness. Yet, the act was unnecessary... if only she hadn't been so impulsive. It seemed like she had still more to learn.
"Umm... I think y-you have me confused with s-someone else," she gingerly sputtered, trying to divert the issue with hope. It had a slight chance of working, but she was already trying to figure out an alternate plan or two in preparation of failure. In the meanwhile her body language played out the part of that timid girl; she looked down at the ground so that her white cap blocked most of her face from view. Her hands came together as she played idly with her fingers, and she started shifting her weight back and forth at random intervals, as if uncomfortable. "My name's Valor and... and I'm l-looking for the... Executive Branch?"
Well, maybe this kid could help. If he was going to dig into her matters than she might as well have him lead her where she needs to go. So she gave him a curious look from under the brim of her hat, and asked. "W-Would you be able to show me how I could join the Vandenreich?"

THE QUINCY IN TRAINING
In this woman's presence Seidou felt there was no longer a need to keep his Blut Augen active, after all this young lady seemed to not pose a threat to him or anyone really and honestly he didn't want to keep the strain on his eyes but that'd mean he'd miss her change in persona, that switch between her mask. There would be a moment where the young man's hand came up to his head from the little bit of pain behind his eyes.
What's she on about? I definitely saw those moves. Maybe she's just shy about being so good... that'd make sense right?
Observing her a little longer he finally got a name, Valor, what a curious name. He'd think about that a little more than one normally would and it took a moment for him to realise she had asked where the Executive Branch was. Why would she want to know where that branch was.. was she somehow important or something, he frowned a little though at the thought of this nice lady working for that weasel of a Daten Executive.. a pompous asshole!
He was getting a little invested in his thoughts Valor might note although he snapped back when he heard her ask him to help her join the Vandenreich. That was why! Must've been, he was over-thinking a situation again, and he brought a hand up to his red hair, nodding a bit.
"I can help you Valor. Firstly though you don't need to join through the Executives, one of them's a real jerk anyway, there's recruitment offices that I can help you get to if you need"

Thankfully, her efforts were not to be wasted, not this time. To answer her plea, the boy clarified how she could get signed on with the Vandenreich; going through one of their recruitment offices, and not necessarily going through the top irons. This was a small blessing to be able to insert herself among their ranks without drawing the eye of the people she was most worried about. By no reasoning had she given any indication of her ties to Eldrazi—she was little more than a modern Quincy without any affiliation—but to those of such power at the height of the organization... logic rarely applied in the face of incredible power. Perhaps they'd see something that gave her away, something that she didn't even know about.
She gave a soft smile born of relief, tempered by her feigned shyness. It was enough to bring her out of her withdrawn state, and face him more forwardly. "Really..? You'd show me the way? Th-That's so nice of you~" she layered on the gratitude in her small voice, though their were hints of her nationality displayed in her accent; something Russian, perhaps. Furthermore, her blush was the faintest of pinks over her warm cream skin. She would go even to those lengths in order to smooth over her mistakes. In the Stadt des Lichts, she was but a shy Quincy... she'd always remember that.
"Ummm... by all means... p-please lead the way. I really don't know my way around this place. I'm new here, hehe..."
She tipped her head forward, almost as if bowing, though the gesture had hardly any substance to it since she barely moved. So long as this boy, Seidou Yashida, would bring her where she needed to go in order to begin her mission, then Valor would follow him obediently. Yet, there was more to her presence here than simply trying to get into the Vandenreich. To her, the organization was still a mystery, to which she relied mostly upon the Eldrazi's word and Vandenreich's own public actions. However, Valor was not one to settle with only half the story. Her own curiosity drove her to figure out what kind of community and culture thrived in this land, inside their city. There was always more than outward appearances to any given group.
Thus, as they walked, Valor began to ask questions of Seidou about the place. Playing hesitantly, of course. "...Are all the Quincies in the Vandenreich like those two... bullies...? W-Why were they picking on me for s-something like that?" She shivered, looking down at her feet with furrowed brows. Why indeed? Did they feel purity entailed superiority? What nonsensical old-fashioned way of thinking was that? Even had she been a Hybrid, that mixture would mean a far greater power than anything those two blockheads could achieve on Quincy blood alone. Many examples of this existed. But, that was proceeding on a tangent. The question was whether this land had more to offer to her than that.

THE QUINCY IN TRAINING
Headway was being made, maybe they could help each other out since despite her shyness she was clearly strong in her own right and it was probably a stage fright thing that made it hard for her to openly use them. Wouldn't it be great if she could help him get better to so befriending this woman was in his interest as much as it was in her's. He smiled as he held out his hand, one might assume it was a handshake but he really had forgotten his formalities since it was not so.
"Sure I'll show you the way, let's go. It's not far from here."
The little stunt he had pulled actually would leave Valor holding hands with him as he lead her towards the recruitment office listening to her question before thinking about how to answer but not stopping his pace. Considering his fellow Quincy's question he had to try and express it in words.
"Well. It's sorta just those from really old families cause they're pure-blood Quincy, they don't have mixed-blood with other races in their lineage and so they are often snobs and total jerks. It's also rumoured that Pure-Bloods are stronger than the mixed-bloods just cause of the bloodlines but who even cares. I'm gonna be the strongest Quincy ever one day, to hell with all this crap about blood purity and the like. Hard work's all you need to be strong Valor."
Speaking his dreams in there he turned to her and grinned before indicating a sign which had a variety of marker's of it being a recruitment including the brochures full of information regarding what one can achieve in the Vandenreich and some other information about the organisation.
"We're here."

??? - VALOR DUVENSKII
Valor had to wonder how much of this was biased opinion and how much of it was actually backed by statistics and evidence. Certainly, the word of one city bystander could be of little worth, especially when such sweeping generalizations were made—all of 'X' individuals were like 'Y'. So, she tried to determine a reason as to how his statement could be true. Did the age of a pure Quincy bloodline connotate superiority here? The logic might be something along the lines of managing to keep marriages among only other pure Quincies. Because they achieved it, it was worth toting as a badge of prestige. Yet, Valor figured that such an accomplishment might also stipulate some rather disreputable practices such as inbreeding and incest, as well as arranged marriages...
That way of thinking was old-fashioned; very old-fashioned. Sure, the first few Quincies born of the First's energies were incredibly powerful, and one might first assume that since these abilities could be passed down through their families, that so long as it is a Quincy they bond with they may retain that level of power. Yet, supernatural powers were never quite so simple, and Quincy magic had never been too closely tied to one's genetics. The further each generation departed from the First had nothing to do with how powerful a Quincy could be, falsifying this belief. Modern Quincies today were still able to rival Quincies of the olden—this was a truth.
And Hybrids were a different monster entirely...
Yet Valor couldn't help but nearly break out into laughter, only barely catching herself with her hand as she tried her best to stifle it. Her thoughts were interrupted by Seidou's announcement at the end, about how naively he declared that he'd be the strongest Quincy one day. Nevermind the bias Valor had in her heart towards her leader, Nozomi; she doubted this boy could even pose a challenge to herself. And for every step he improved, so was everybody else. Trying to gain power by upholding blood purity was one thing, but baseless boasting was another.
"Ah..." she managed to vocalize in just a bare whisper. She offered a small smile to him. "Th-That's a incredible goal... I wish you luck with that..." It was really all she could do. She couldn't take it seriously, not now. He was just a stranger to her, and you'd think she'd have heard of him before if he had accomplished anything of note, even. It was questionable whether she'd see him again after this all, but the least she could do is remember the name of the kid who said such a silly thing. For now, it was back to business, as they'd finally arrived at their destination. Indeed, here they were.
"S-So, I just need to turn in an application or something, huh...?"

THE QUINCY IN TRAINING
Watching his companion carefully Seidou was curious about her, sure she was attractive as well but there was something odd about her. When her hand came up his first thought was that she was going to laugh but surely he was imagining it? What was there to laugh about. No despite his intelligence he couldn't see why she'd find the comment funny and put it down to thinking she was going to cough but she didn't in the end.
It was true Seidou had nothing to his name, no reputation and no feats, no pure bloodline or social status to give him an edge that others seemed to have but he did have a will to get stronger and be the best without taking shortcuts he was sure that effort would get him there and this whole idea of prodigies being better at everything was just nonsense in his mind maybe the closest thing to a shortcut he'd take would be trying to develop a hollow side and become a Hohl like his mother but aside from that good ol' hard work would do him just fine.
Finally arriving with Valor he grin at her, bringing his hand up to scratch his head giving off subtle vibes of nervousness. He hadn't expected his day to turn into hanging out with this pretty girl with an underlying strength to her but nonetheless he nodded.
"I'm pretty sure it's just an application unless you wanted to be an officer or something then you'd probably be in for an interview with someone. I don't actually know.. I'm not a part of the Vandenreich and my closest affiliation is merely a learning role to hone my abilities. I don't really focus to much on the military side of things. Do... Do you need me to come in?"
He went a little red at the comment, why one Earth would he ask that!? Why would she need him to hold her hand through this situation. Seidou's eyes shifted to the wall while letting the awkward question leave an awkward silence that Valor would have to break.

ENTER THE DEPTHS
Artist: N/A - Song: N/A - Word Count: 963
The machinations of fate, mysterious and often misconstrued and unable to be understood. The leader of the vandenreich pondered as she looked over papers to see a particularly warming sight. Individuals who bridged the barrier the quincy often struggled with. blood and pride. However as her eyes narrowed she did nothing, but merely noted those who incited the bullying in the very beginning, she’d give them a soft reprimand later for the blatant disrespect of her own will. Yet, she also knew it’d take time, as time was the medicine that healed even the gravest of rifts.
The gentle tinkling of her earrings would be almost inaudible, her spiritual trace no greater than the powerless humans they originated from. Her eyes slanted as she studied them, listening to their exchange within a small corner shop that was rather inconspicuous on its own. Many thought the leader to be lofty, unreachable maybe, but it was just she often didn’t have the time to visit, paperwork was a never ending chore that left her many sleepless nights, and bleary eyed mornings.
Yet, it struck a chord in the leader, how the one time she had decided for a change of pace, of scenery, that she had stumbled upon one of the very sites she wished to see. Cooperation, understanding and a lack of difference. It was a trait she wished many of her leaders in the current vandenreich would emulate and strive to uphold. Yet she didn’t intervene as they discussed, instead she had pushed her papers to the side and propped her chin up within the cradle of her palm, her elbow resting comfortably against the table.
”..Hmm..”
She thought to herself as the scene unfolded itself. Her hearing subtly enhanced by her spiritual energy through her ability c the control. She had embedded the concept of sound within her ear, allowing for the subtle minute sounds to be enhanced to their maximum potential within the cradle of her inner ear.
Then, they seemed to be on the move, and the quincy leader subtly vanished from her current location, using her bird's eye view of the entire city of light to bridge a connection between reishi. Through it her appearance upon the rooftop was smooth and seemless, not a smidge of reishi leaking from her body that could be traced.
She also heard that the girl was looking for the executive branch and then from the other person that her branch was full of bullies. Now that made her choke down a soft chuckle. But it seemed there was the affinity of fate here, and that spurred the quincy leader herself into action. Her first foot left the edge of the rooftop, plummeting downwards her silver hair whipping above her head before she landed on a snow-flake shaped platform of energy, smoothly walking to the ground.
Her voice was smooth and serene. Her back poised and proper, and the soft inclination of her chin downwards to look at them as she descended showing her ancient pride. Soon her feed firmly pressed to the ground with a sharp click of her high heeled boots, her silver gaze, the color of faint gunmetal grey hues studying the two before her once more.
”..Are you two looking to for the application paperwork?”
She thought it’d be quaint to not outright ask them if joining was their intent, but rather see if they first knew who she was. She felt it was more interesting this way, she didn’t need to garner their respect from titles. Even if they knew who she was, her very airs would be gentle and kind, after all the younger generation was the backbone that would eventually exceed the previous generation, even old-timers like her could learn a thing or two from them eventually.
However for now, Niflheim paused and waited, a soft smile upon her lips and the emblem that marked her of the vandenreich organization glistening proudly in the light.
