ENTER THE DEPTHS

Artist: N/A - Song: N/A - Word Count: 1901

Ghislain had wondered about this sometime before embarking on this journey here. Something was out here and that was the reason Hulderic chose it. Something was built here but hidden from the world and needed finding. The whipping of winds and howling of the cold air. Something was built here by the ancient Monks of their people. He could feel it in his bones as he decided to explore the once homelands. They'd once owned this place and called it home. Ghislain would reclaim a portion of what was here. He didn't dare go deal with the other region just yet. The Monastery was his interest here. Ghislain needed to focus on finding this place. It was buried more than likely and would require time to locate. Reaching down he gently touched the ground. This wasn't a move or anything as he sent a pulse of Reishi out. Over the entire the continent that was a radar of sorts. He was sensing the area as he felt information return slowly to him as the reishi did a circle out and came back to him. So it seemed the nearest place was over to the west. Hulderic had never located it nor even figured out what it was.

Bringing both his hands to his chest he inhaled and exhaled a breath sending out a wave of reishi again. This time to blow snow from the Monastery's steps and everything near it. He was gentle as it was a breeze strong enough to clean but not damage the area. His hands lowered now slowly as he walked up the step looking over the area. This was likely the last piece of culture their people had in this region. Ancient techniques lost to the snow here and forgotten by even Emperors. Ghislain had plans for this place now as he decided it would be his home here. Could he defend the entire region that was unlikely especially with that city? The Vandenreich had left these lands unaware of the treasure here. Ghislain would need to figure out what could be done. He walked to the stone doors as he pushed his arms outwards sending the snow covering the stones flying outwards. This place had many cultures as he could see they practiced here daily.

Slowly he crossed his legs to meditate on how to open these doors the right way. It wasn't about force or anything like that. The user must have known a technique to enter this place. Unless they did it perfect however these doors wouldn't budge. It was safe to surmise these doors strong as time had done nothing to them. Hulderic's mightiest blow couldn't have hoped to damage them. Was this a tomb or a training area was the first question. Claiming this zone for himself would require some time indeed. Ghislain didn't know what all would be required. He knew how to open the doors properly and didn't intend to share that information. Was it greed or perhaps something else that drove him? He could have told the Vandenreich of this discovery. But to what end, so they could misunderstand the teachings? Nobody was able to perform these arts but himself. No point existed for him to tell them about it as they had no desire to learn.

ENTER THE DEPTHS

His cerulean eyes opened slowly as he shot his hand outwards. Slowly hitting the center of the door a small precise energy went through the door now slowly surging and breathing life into it. He returned to his kneeling position slowly watching as the snow began to part. The door had begun opening slowly as his eyes stared forward. This was the place he would begin his study of the ancient way. He'd found many answers with Mirja the Wolf. Hayden and even Mana had been useful in the way of learning things. His frame entered as the door shut behind him slowly closing him in the dark. His eyes looked ahead taking in the structure of the inside as he shot a bit of reishi outwards. The fires of blue lit within the place as he saw the wall. The technique before him would require an immense amount of focus. The images before him and the dialect they were spoken in. He crossed his legs and pondered how this would work. Instead of exploding the energy inside of you and using that. The other technique was foolish and Mirja was right. Anything that breaks your body wasn't a good thing.

Ghislain studied the glyphs in front of him now his eyes staring at each bit of information hungry. He couldn't believe it but it seemed a master once existed. Who would store energy upon his temple for times of tribulation for later use? Saving it for an emergency and releasing it to use in those times. The question was how did it work exactly and how long did it take to store? Did it happen every day easily for that matter? Or would he need to develop even further? no information on how the technique was released. He guessed, for now, it would have to be done a single way. Immense energy control would be required to do this. Only a Quincy would likely be able to do it with this level of control. The glyphs indicated that the user was to focus on the shape upon their head of a Crescent moon. To focus on energy pouring into the mark and forming it. He crossed his legs bringing his figure tips and letting his thumbs softly touch as his palms faced upwards.

Focus on the shape becoming clear on his head now as he began to channel energy into it. This would require a ton of focus to do this feat here. Reishi wasn't abundant in this world it would be easier to go to the Soul Society. He winced almost breaking his concentration as a burning sensation screamed across his skull. He could feel the pain of something being almost carved into his skin. Energy being stored it was so painful. He wouldn't be deterred by pain, as his breathing came out heavy for a moment. He could feel the energy pouring into his forehead as he would need to learn to passively draw energy into this. Putting aside energy into this mark daily would become a trial. He needed to learn how to do this and pass the time. So till he could understand this technique better he would remain here. In this arctic wasteland. His presence wouldn't leave this place till he finished the technique. Everything came to those who waited.

How much energy would he be needing to store in order to face Mana? Would it be too much for his body to handle in its current condition? Was this the technique that overwhelmed his people? It seemed like maybe this was the dangerous move from childhood. He closed his eyes not focusing on just drawing energy into that point. Putting his own energy inside of it now he could feel the amount of his energy begin going in. Though he realized he couldn't just give up his energy to it every day. He needed to precisely know how to do this and release the technique. The knowledge was here to be grabbed by someone if he was willing to wait. Ghislain would find the answer to a beginning. This wasn't going to be something that let him leave anytime soon. The Vanguard would wait for their Boros Guard Captain's return. He would need to prepare a large amount of energy and release for the battles to come. He only had so much of his own energy to draw in and attack with. Only so much remained for him to prepare with. The Vandenreich, was the wild card this time of things.

He and his people were finally entering the fray again for the first time. He didn't stand with them on whatever journey they took. He didn't have a reason to be that father again. Or to remain and bring about disdain from them. He was the Master of the Old ways and Nif would be of the new. She may have had age on him but her studies failed her. She knew not even of this place here or how to execute it. Ghislain's technique, this wasn't perfect the Master didn't know how to release it properly. So this wasn't something he would leave unfinished. He would make it an Eberhart specialty or beyond even that. Ghislain's specialty would be the technique that he'd discovered. His eyes opened to see the glyph disappearing. Once a student was able to perform what was required. The technique vanished, he gently touched the area between his bangs. Feeling an energy mark of reishi there on his head. So this was how it would work for now as he pondered how much he could store.

Ghislain began doing calculations in his head for the amount of energy had on the day. He could back up a reserve supply of energy and use that after draining his. The technique certainly had some risks of the user killing themselves. This was indeed the very technique from childhood. He guessed as much but he suspected the spin he'd put on it. Instead of storing energy to break his limiter. What if he did it and stopped before breaking his limit but only pushed a bit. Mirja's hint came in extremely handy in this regard. The answer was plan as the moon on his head.

Mirja was right about something with this technique or perhaps more. This would require some time to fine tune and develop into something more. The limit break was the original process of this move and how it functioned. What the user would do was simple, they would store energy and then break their limiters physically. Ghislain had a different intention entirely for this move. He wouldn't shatter the limiters of his body. Instead, he would use the energy in an entirely different way. Creating a special reserve of energy upon his forehead. Standing up after being satisfied with the amount of energy gathered he felt a bit tired as he stumbled. This wasn't something he did often as he chuckled catching his balance. Ghislain wasn't sure how long his path would align with Hayden's. But for now, he needed to focus on other matters that went on within his people. Sweat dripped down his forehead as he realized some stamina was taken. "So that's how it works, it takes in energy but is tiring." He said softly as he regained his composure.

Walking further into the dimly lit monastery. He would reclaim this place soon for something else. It was his duty to master this technique and make sure the others were gone. Leaving this history for his people was dangerous. This was the sort of thing he was happy Yhwach didn't know. Ghislain had to wonder about the risk of becoming what he hated. His cerulean eyes looked at his hand for a moment. Certainly, something to meditate over at some point. He wouldn't release the technique any time soon. The energy gathered into the portion could be used for multiple things. From what he could tell this technique was one developed through hard work. Focus and everything would be required but also the immense control. He wouldn't be able to finalize it here. Perhaps he would show it to Mirja once it was finished. To show her the answer that he gained from her and here. The next thing was the release command for it was interesting. This power could certainly push the limits.

But here wasn't the place for him to refuel his reserves of reishi. He would travel to the Soul Society and gain as much as possible. By his calculations, he was able to get about a one-third of his mark filled with energy. He'd not passed the limit yet but was rather close to being able to use this truthfully. The technique wasn't complete yet as he knew the release command. But now wasn't the time for that as business was calling him to the Soul Society. He would be waiting to test the power in combat and see how it functioned. His body felt tired as he stood up looking at the glyphs that faded into his body. Dangerous was the nature of this information to their people. Perhaps, someday they would be ready for the Crescent Seal and use it. But so far the only one who'd used it safely was its former Master. Ghislain would go and finalize his technique within the Gotei 13. Figure out how things functioned further there than he could in that place. It was the perfect place to finalize this.

While he could draw on massive amounts of energy here on earth. This technique required a different setting to finish it. His family were dead and buried so none existed to share this discovery with. Elizabeth would scold him for not trusting their people. But that girl troubled him a great deal. Ghislain's new technique was a better version but by his calculations. He would need to go somewhere and see the effect. It would need to be dangerous whoever he challenged. Activating the move and seeing it's effect. He needed to know the degree of healing and power it granted. What were the benefits of a sudden surge of reishi? He let a small smile escape his lips, he had an idea that he suspected Desmond wouldn't care for. Before he would leave he needed to figure out the effects. His cerulean eyes closed as he let himself float in the air. Meditation was the clear path to understanding for the former Emperor. This required an answer of how the energy would feel surging through his body.

He glanced around making gravity well's appear around him that shoved all energy back at him. It was a bit uncomfortable but effective enough. Beginning to focus and control his breathing he got ready to release what he gathered up. one-third of the energy would be unleashed into his body. His blut prepared itself for the first time using the technique. Mentally he uttered the phrase and pictured the energy surging through his body releasing from that point. It was an explosion of power through his body and pain as the muscles were awoken. It was not how he figured the first release would be. His breathing got heavy as he felt his cerulean eyes glowing with energy. It was a ton being released into his body. Setting this up would indeed take time and require recharging. If he did it on earth anyways, he felt aches and pain beginning to fade. It was as though his body was recovering rapidly with this move. He could feel the reishi surging through his muscles empowering him. He stood up slowly as he felt the mark beginning to fade.

He cut the release before the mark completely faded off his forehead. The intial results were promising at best, he would need further studies on it. But he believed this seal could be something useful. It was time to finalize the technique within the Soul Society. He focused on the place within the Gotei 13. Vanishing now as he moved his frame closer towards the exit. This place would remain sealed and empty for all time now it seemed. Ghislain absorbed the knowledge that was dangerous within this place. The time had come for him to depart and move to the next objective.
