Wayward Awakening

He'd not remembered how long it had been since he slept truly in the centuries. Slumber seemed such an elusive beast as he laid feeling a tongue against his cheek. Something was licking his face as he blinked open his eyes. How long had it been since he'd passed out here in this place? A creature similar to a fox was staring at him as his calm eyes fell on it. "Where are we at little one?" Hollows laid dying around him as he slowly let the little one coil around his shoulders. Hearing something he'd not expected as the creature spoke. "I don't know Ver-chan, I think we are in the desert. " He blinked the voice didn't come directly from the yawning fox that seemed to get comfortable. His power had killed these ones he could tell by their feeling that being around his presence was too much. It obviously wasn't the little one's doing but he did get the feeling. Something was done with the creature of a nature that was strange. Sand fell from his shoulders as he plucked a silver hair from his head. His hair had changed colors as he pondered the situation a bit better.
His eyes slowly looked down his physical appearance had changed completely. It looked like a bad makeover show had happened to him. The fox was, of course, a part of this as he detected something on it. His hierro hadn't changed any but that part was, of course, obvious as he blinked. The number two that was tattooed on his frame was gone. The tattoos and markings still covered his frame in places with the Tribal Hierro. Some differences between before but nothing of a true stand out that made sense in his eyes as he glanced around. The Fox and he silently seemed to be regarding this situation. Could he return to the city like this? His sister would certainly not believe her large brother turned into this. He was now a bit shorter and his body build less muscle. But something about it was deceptive, his strength hadn't changed despite this. He simply breathed and the heat around them exploded outwards.
His body felt like a sun was burning in his core as he blinked as the fox's name came to mind. It was called Kurama because of course, it was. This seemed a bit strange in term of occurrences for him. He felt the fox shaking the sand off of it as he realized something here. This little one had been with him his entire time. How long had he been undergoing this metamorphosis? Examining things took a bit longer as he had been close to a breakthrough. HIs Tribal Hierro had a final form he'd been working on. Was this the result of the experimenting that went bad? Only time could be the judge of it as he decided the next course of action. Did he return to Shadow's Fall and work under his sister again? Or work for Nagato, why was he had to serve others? Couldn't he be his own man for a change and do things himself. Tribal Hierro Ressurection, that was the test he had in mind. A form of power that came from his Tribal Hierro that went beyond anything else.
He winced feeling his head as it felt painful. Something about this went wrong as he tried to figure out where he was. Not bothering to keep his massive spiritual pressure down. This awakening had been a true awakening in multiple ways. He was close to an answer but so much further away. "Kurama should we return home or look for a new answer?" The fox's eyes blinked as it spoke again within his mind. Verathius it's up to you, we should honor are agreements, though...Your Tribal Ressurection technique is incomplete and maybe Ane-chan could help. " He understood the gist of what the Fox said as well. Rose could help maybe figure out what was wrong with it. The tattoo markings on his body for this were a bit more violent and unstable. But maybe another could help him as well, Nagato would have been a good aid as well. The choices were in his court but the time was to begin on this journey anew.

Rudi! Walking The Sands!
Rudi felt someone much stronger than he from more than a mile away. That blood hummed loud, felt clear and strong. Each pulse of it was equivalent to a shout to the young arrancar. This was some dangerous entity that could hurt hum badly if he so wanted. Or if he even detected. Rudi had been feeling out this stranger for a while.
The strangest thing was that the person didn't move. They stayed still, open in the sands. Like they were dying. Or sleeping. Or somehow disabled. The young arrancar couldn't help his curiosity, but hesitated due to the instinctive fear to run from people stronger than him. This has always been his instinct, as a way to preserve himself. Always run from those stronger. Always always.
Or at the very least, keep a safe distance. Rudi pinged the world around the both of them for any other threats. None. He could keep his attention on this stranger as he began to walk towards the strong spiritual energy. He'd just get close enough for a look, and then he would bolt away. This power could do some serious damage before he even realized it.
Rudi's tail flicked back and forth as he approached, slowly and steadily. His footsteps in the sands read of child's sneakers, all laced up and ready to go. Eventually, he got within a solid 60 yards with the person... who seemed to just be talking to some small fox-like creature. He didn't really understand.
He stayed and watched for a time, but the man didn't seem to be up and moving as quickly as someone his strength should be. Maybe... Maybe he should offer his help.
"Hey! Mister! Are you okay? If you let me taste your blood I can figure out what's wrong with you!"
This sounded like a quintessential lie, but of course, Rudi was almost incapable of pulling off farce besides the one that gave rise to his persona.

He blinked his eyes a couple times as he sensed an energy coming towards him. Inhaling a bit the flames around him died down as he started to sheath that massive pressure. Verathius would need to figure out the person's intentions. Kurama coiled a bit tighter around his neck. His finger itched the fox forehead as he stared towards the person who arrived. "Interesting, most people don't come towards others here generally." His eyes slowly remained stuck on the figure. It wasn't generally that people came towards him as the former Segunda Espada. Right now he was just a random guy who didn't take a side. His lips smiled slightly as he shrugged his shoulders. No point in pushing the matter on or anything like that. His frame moved towards him slowly as Kurama seemed to remain quiet and bury it's face into his shoulder."So what brings you out into this abyss of sand?" He said softly as he commented on his desert palace of sorts. Trying to piece together how he'd gotten here was tricky at best.
Finding answers to that would be the current goal at the moment. His strength seemed so off to him as he thought about his sister and families status. Rose had lost Ashlei and they'd both lost him for some time. Did he continue this bloody path for approval from those two? His mind was occupied with that discussion. Did he want to challenge Shadow Fall for its position? No that wasn't the answer to what plagued his mind as he had always been wayward. Since the days guarding that place, he'd never truly fit in anywhere. He'd been part of both organizations. For a change, he didn't just want to be some operative that said yes. But someone who did more and that emptiness he felt bothered him. The fact he didn't care about where or how things went. This young one before him felt sincerely different from most people. His eyes remained fixated on him as he took things in. His eyes drifted over towards other areas as he prepared for whatever reaction the male had.
The fire around him died down as his spiritual pressure was brought under his control finally. What would the next adventure be in the journey that was Verathius's life could only be told as time marched on.

Rudi should be concerned who this stranger was. He was so powerful but he seemed lost, as if he had no direction, as if he was lost. In fact, this man seemed a lot like Rodolfo in that respect. Perhaps he had lost something wonderful and didn't know what to do now... Rudi should be concerned that someone with no direction could be the blind following the blind.
In fact, the stranger was walking to him and trying to mine him for some information. But seemingly, Rudi didn't pay attention to that. His pink-red eyes did not even meet the man's mouth from which those words are going. Instead, he has focused on the little furry animal around the man's neck and shoulders. Fluffy, with beautiful eyes and perky ears. The hint of whisker around damp, dark nose.
A pet. A pet!!
Fear and caution forgotten, Rudi approached openly, with a brazenness of a man twice his power level. He didn't bother to elongate his small body, although the fox was easily out of his reach. It was as if Rudi thought he was a much bigger person than he was. He reached up casually, and almost seemed to blink in surprise when he could hardly reach the man's shoulder. It took him a few more moments before he realized he was simply too short to reach.
"Is it your pet? Can I pet it?"
He seemed to completely ignore the question he was provided. Instead, he was much, much more interested in the fox. His little eyes were wide and almost shining in his wonder of the creature.

"Perhaps later, Kurama is a bit uneasy right now. We both have just awoken here and are trying to piece together events that lead us here so he's a bit frightened." Verathius was calm and gently as he let the creature bury it's face into his neck further. It wasn't a lie really that Kurama was uneasy and seemed out of place with things. They were both adjusting to a new situation as Kurama was just born a moment ago. Verathius's entire body changing from the large and bulky one he'd had previously. He'd looked like a bigger clone of his sister Rose for so long. But now that red hair had become silver. It wasn't something he considered a very odd change. Maybe stress had changed how he looked entirely. He wasn't sure what could cause this type of evolution in a hollow. Verathius had always been unstable for the most part with this stuff. His powers once derived from Darkness itself. But he'd awoken to his true powers later as an Arrancar. He'd had a strange situation after strange situation.
Ever since the battle at the Gotei 13 somethings had seemed off to him. Was it that being Khala that was the cause of it all? That entire thing seemed like a bad dream that he couldn't awaken from. Verathius had spent a long time carrying the burden and torch for Shadowfall. He'd fought hard and claimed a number of lands. Fighting Moonie when he arrived in Poland. The two clashed and threw down the ultimate gauntlet. Moonie had bested and brought out several of the previous beings sent. Verathius had shown his desire to fight in that situation. But a question was raised on the moon. Who was in the right and wrong, had the hollow become dogs of the Demons? He couldn't be sure about some things. Maybe Nagato had answers for some of these questions. For now, these thoughts were pointless as he stared at the younger hollow. His eyes focusing in on him closely. This was just the beginning of things it would seem. He and the boy were both lost. In different ways it would seem they would need to find answers that satisfied them both.

Kurama is uneasy. The two had just awoken.
"You're like me then. I woke up over there a few years ago, too. Do you have any memories? I don't." He pointed quite a distance away, towards where the menos forest lay. Indeed, Rudi did indeed mean that he had awoken in the menos forest several years ago, without a single memory to define the identity he had now. In fact, it was a wonder that he had been able to survive as young as he was, how he was able to keep his innocence in the world of hollows, demons, war, strife, and heartbreak.
The answer, of course, lay as hidden as regret. Verathius seemed to be out of his depth, even in the world of Hueco Mundo for which he surely called home. His feet were unsteady on the sands, and his fox companion cowered like the most frightened, gnat-like lizards and other tiny hollow that crawled the rocks and sought shelter in the few petrified trees.
The man seemed fairly lost in thought, but Rudi instead reached up to take his hand and begin to walk. Not to show him anything in particular, but he personally found walking had a fairly meditative effect; it would be easier on the man if he was thinking while walking, Rudi figured. In the meantime, he would talk ant attempt to bond with the stranger, as he always had done with strangers.
"Since I have no home, and no parents, I just walk around, and walk around, and meet new friends. Like you, right? Besides, I felt you from a looooong way away. It was weird that you weren't moving, though. You're not hurt, are you?"

His eyes moved to the location the boy pointed towards. Taking in the destination that was shown to him. His eyes were examining the features closely. So he wasn't far off from where Verathius had awoken from his state. What was the point of it all he wondered? He heard the boy's question finally as he studied him again. "No, we just ended up here as a result of an incident from training. " He said assuring the boy he was fine and showing him his arm. The tribal hierro marks on his arm showed as he let the boy see his frame a bit. Verathius didn't have a scratch on him in the slightest. Though breaking through his iron defense would have been hard pressed for some people. He didn't need a reason or a path anymore at this point. Nagato was likely to help him with his goal of finding his way. His glimpse beyond the illusion was becoming clear to him. Finding the answer to the world around him. He'd been blind to things for a while and wondered what Rose would say. How would she react to things like this?
Would she be alright that he'd gone missing like Ashlei did? It wasn't as though he meant for his training to go so wrong. That form was just painful and unexpected as it felt like his fire burned inside his core. He still couldn't believe the changes to his body to accommodate the training among other things. He suspected that Kurama was more than just a fox. It was likely a part of him needed to take things to the next stage. He felt a connection between him and the fox. No matter the course or reason the time for him to do something was upon him. "I should check in with my sister and see what she's doing. I'm gonna get lectured for being like my elder sister again." He said sighing a bit as he stretched his arms towards the skies a little bit. The change in appearance was going to throw her off he suspected. His stoic appearance from before was gone now. Replaced by this form he had now, this wasn't entirely what he had in mind in terms of a form.

Tattoos. Rudi had never quite seen them before, and when presented with them he ran his little hands over the lines with no small amount of wonder. Rudi was excessively touchy feely in this respect, never having quite the idea of what personal boundaries meant for people, especially adults when in comparison for himself. He reached up and swiped his little fingers over the lines, eyes wide and taking in the sights.
The man mentioned something about a sister's lecturing, and a training session going strange. He couldn't help but laugh at that. "Training session that made you lay down alone for a long time? Are you sure? That sounds weird, mister." Perhaps what was weird also was that Rudi wasn't recognizing this man, for his relation to his family, for his affiliation with the espada. Every hollow worth their salt knew of them, and yet Rudi seemed to be almost entirely ignorant of them.
But what Rudi did seem to know is something to do about family and family orientation. He nodded and went so couragerously as to speak. "Why would you get lectured? If she's your sister she'll be happy that you're back home. Since you were lying down for a long while! If my family member disappeaed for a while and didn't come back I'd be happy they came back! I don't have any family but, but you know!" He spoke insistently to him, with a kind of borderline stubbornness about it. Rudi clearly had a very specific idea of what family was like.
