» Shifter Appearance Written: An androdgynous being with pale skin. They have sharp facial features and an overall angular face. Their hair has long bangs and reaches about down to their neck. They have a lithe build with just a small hint of delicacy. They wear a long, dark blue button-up trench coat with a white turtleneck sweater underneath, dark blue dress pants, and dark blue dress shoes. They also wear a pair of khaki colored gloves and a khaki colored hat.

» Personality: Bernadotte is pragmatic to the core; everything he sees is judged based upon whether it aligns with his goals or not. Due to him lacking a soul, Bernadotte doesn't have much in the way of a personality or, by extension, goals. However, when thinking upon his existence, he did manage to come up with a single goal. Without any other real drive or reason to be, only the simple want to remain in existence was left. And how does one ensure that they remain in existence? By becoming stronger, that is. However, this idea eventually branched off into other things. Looking upon the chaos of the world around drove Bernadotte into deeper thought. A decision was finally made, and that decision was to devote his existence to stabilizing the world around him. The more stable it was the more effective it could be and the more it could improve, further ensuring its and his continued existence. This is his sole goal: to improve the world by any means deemed the most effective.

» History Bernadotte was born in Nice, France in year 2398 on October 10th. His early life was very normal. His mother was French, his father was Italian, and he had one brother older than him by a year. He got along well with his family, although his brother was always kind of distant. It wouldn't be until much later that anything out of the ordinary happened.

Growing up, Bernadotte didn't have many friends. He was a very quiet person and tended to keep away from others. He very much preferred being alone. Because of his role as a sort of social outcast, he did get picked on quite a bit, but he ignored it and moved on with his life. His brother, too, picked on him about it a lot, but he ignored that too. However, there were times where his brother didn't take kindly to being ignored, but that was mostly handled by their parents and didn't grow to any threatening extent.

It wouldn't be until Bernadotte's highschool years began that his life started taking a turn for the worse. At this point, his brother had majorly separated from him. Having mostly grown out of his isolationist personality, Bernadotte attempted to reconcile with him many times, but each attempt was to no avail. His brother had actually started to become openly aggressive towards him by Bernadotte's second year of highschool. Bernadotte, confused by this behavior, began investigating the causes of the increased hostility.

Bernadotte was in his third year of highschool when his brother's hostility really began drastically escalating, and he had found out why. For some reason or other, his brother had started hanging out with a "gang" as they called it, though in Bernadotte's mind they were just a bunch of self glorified thugs. Angry at his brother's idiotic life decisions, Bernadotte confronted him about this, only to be immediately and violently shut down. Angered further by his brother's outrageous actions, a somewhat injured Bernadotte took the problem to their parents. His parents were also angered by this news, and the next day his father followed Bernadotte's brother to where he went after school.

Bernadotte's father never came back home after that, nor his brother for that matter. It would be four days later that police would find Bernadotte's fathers bludgeoned body. Upon receiving this news, Bernadotte broke. His mother fell into a depression, but he had stopped caring. He simply went to school as normal, searching for his brother's whereabouts at the same time.

Two weeks later, Bernadotte located his brother, and one day followed him. He waited until his brother was alone in an alleyway before confronting him. He asked why his brother did what he knew he had done, but this was a ploy. When his brother turned around and became angered once he realized who was talking to him, Bernadotte turned somewhat sideways to hide his hand reaching into his pocket. When his brother approached, Bernadotte lunged with the knife he had brought, and hit home in his brother's stomach. Not leaving any chances, Bernadotte continued to stab him until he was sure his breathing had ceased.

For a few minutes, Bernadotte only stood there staring at his brother's corpse, knife still tightly held in his hand. He only turned his head when he heard footsteps approaching him. Bernadotte didn't really know how to react to someone finding him, as he hadn't planned that far. He also didn't really care much what happened now, and so he stood still and watched as the man approached. Upon reaching a place where normal speech wouldn't be heard from beyond the alleyway, the man stopped and smiled widely at him.

This man who seemingly came from nowhere went right into making a very strange offer. He stated simply that at this point, there was no real reason for Bernadotte to live anymore, but he had a deal. That deal would be to take away Bernadotte's life, namely his soul, and in return he'd give him a new life and a second chance. Bernadotte, in his current state, saw nothing wrong with this and agreed within a short time. The man approached and, still grinning widely, offered a handshake. Bernadotte took it after letting the knife he held fall to the ground.

The next thing he knew, Bernadotte woke up feeling different than usual. The man was long gone, but had apparently been kind enough to move Bernadotte to a new location. It would be a while before Bernadotte pieced things together and went about his way in his new existence. He has since changed his appearance in order to entirely disconnect himself from his former life.

» Natural Abilities:

» Unique Body: Bernadotte's body is very different from the normal. For one it isn't organic. The body is made up of a substance entirely unique to itself. The body is entirely comprised of this substance, and so lacks any organs or any other internal systems. The body can take damage, as upon being attacked a number of particles of the body will die. However, the body is more resilient compared to others, and is particularly resistant to kinetic force. The particles of the body also naturally duplicate over time, and this process can be sped up by expending energy. At a natural pace, the body can recover the mass of an arm in about three minutes. The body can also not naturally generate more mass than the mass of the regular completed body. Mass beyond this requires energy to both create and maintain.

Bernadotte's body also naturally possesses a strong attractive force to itself. As a result, the particles of the body adhere very strongly to each other. This also lends to the body's durability. In the event of a mass of the body separating, it will usually be immediately reassimilated. However, if enough force is applied, a mass of the body may be separated beyond the range of its attractive force. If so, it can still be retrieved by approaching it or expending energy to strengthen its attractive force. Due to its attractive force, the body's most natural position would be a sphere. To remain in Bernadotte's desired shape, a sort of skeletal system of particularly dense matter is formed throughout the body, concentrating the attractive force into a desired shape.

Bernadotte's body only naturally possesses one physical sense, and this is an innate sense of vibration. This sense allows Bernadotte to detect any movement around him whether or not it makes noise. This sense extends out to one hundred meters, but begins to diminish at seventy, giving only a vague sense of movement at the outer rim. Bernadotte can also replicate a normal sense of sight, hearing, and touch, but he does this supernaturally. This process requires energy, but the amount is minute and is eclipsed by the natural recovery of energy. Bernadotte can heighten any of his senses and expand their range, but consumes increasing amounts of energy dependent on the amount his senses are increased. The amount of energy required to do this is still relatively small, but it also requires concentration to maintain. Bernadotte can also consume minute amounts of energy to vibrate his body in order to emit sound, which he uses to speak. He usually does this from his mouth, which is able to open.
