ENTER THE DEPTHS

Artist: N/A - Song: N/A - Word Count: N/A

Hayden stood on the cusp of achieving months of work, months of stride dedicated to a single conflict. While his contact with people outside of his small collective was minimal, he had certainly been busy. Days upon days building into months he had worked in Africa meeting with multiple representatives from the people that called this land their home. There were always some… complications to be lightly but he managed to work past them; it was a long road to build trust among the nations and its people but it certainly was now yielding some rewards. The influence of both Hayden and Vastime had extended all across Africa, with only moment away from the official formation of ‘The Iron Banner of Vastime’ which was simply a large collection of states that fell under the Vastimian banner in Africa. The exact definition of the government type Vastime held was similar to a mix of a republic and constitutional monarchy, something that was a heavily debated topic during the discussions.

Nonetheless, the talks went moderately well over the past few months particularly with Hayden being willing to show he would stand with the nation rather than abandon them; the moon event was actually a way to help his cause seeing as he was the only person that came to the aid of Vastime in terms of debris- protecting a nation that wasn’t even allied with him or apart of his talks! Every time Hayden was willing to throw himself into the fire and then show up to debates with national leaders with little regard for his own health, the reason was quite simple and it was because what he was doing was far bigger than any injury he sustained. If he could just achieve his ambitions he could secure the future for his people, he could enable them in a way which hadn’t been seen for… centuries.

Hayden was caught in his thoughts, this was almost unreal for the male but yet he stood outside of the large parliamentary building that had been built in the capital of Vastime, Roran, which was formerly a large port city in Somalia before being reinvigorated through the sustained aid of Hayden and some very high friends of his. The building was a beautiful yet simple design mimicking that of ancient grecian buildings, which was a small nod to the ancestry of his people along with his own origin. Within the coming hour, if this went undisturbed Hayden would be acquiring multiple nations of Africa under one large pact; yet this didn’t mean he could start celebrating yet for there was still many things that could go wrong.

For instance, maybe some rogue agent would launch an attack against Hayden to undermine his power potentially making national leaders shy to enter into a pact with a man who cannot protect his assets or worse someone came to verbally oppose him somehow discrediting him and his work. That would be a disaster if someone was to show up unannounced, while this was a very public event the slightest misstep could destroy months of work. That fear clung to the back of his hear.

Yet today was still a very happy day, he was being greeted by leaders and workers alike- so far everything was going to plan. If it could remain like this for a bit longer till the signings, today would be a great day.

Artist: N/A - Song: Fallen Tears - Word Count: 963

Whispers had trickled across the globe about a young man who had begun something large in africa, something about unification. About creating something new, however Animum was skeptical about how it would turn out, because as the saying went. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Sure he might be trying to do something great, but who was to say it wouldn’t twist and become another dictatorship over time? Plus she wishes to see the mettle of a man who wished to rule over others, to see if they had the backbone to make hard decisions, to see how they reacted at the very brink of losing it all. How would a person cope in such a situation? How would they react, and what decisions would they make? The right to rule was filled with many aspects similar to the ones she had popping up in her head. There would be hardships. There would be devastating wars and maybe things wouldn’t ever be the same again. These thoughts and more brought the ziamichi to hover over a bank of clouds. Her wings expanded on either side to their full wingspan, golden hair glinting against the light of the sun before she looked down, feeling for immense energy signatures that might be in the area.

”..I wonder, what kind of answers will he come up with?”Animum thought to herself as her wings tucked in snugly to her body and she took a dive. Descending from the skies above and rapidly picking up speed. Diving towards the meeting place as if she was going to crash into it, only at the last second of course did her wings expand beating twice to counter the downwards force with a gust of wind that whipped up a miniature dust cloud beneath her. Her feet eventually coming to touch down with the ground her eyes shifting to take in the three people before her, while her wings folded against her back for now. Not taking a single step towards them because she herself hadn’t decided the nature of her visit yet. She hadn’t come here with the intent to be an enemy, and yet she didn’t consider herself this man's ally either. Instead Animum was completely neutral about the matter, yet her very demeanor exuded power, to the point that a clearing had formed in the crowd who had backed up from the girl, who continued to glance up at the male and then potentially at the female besides her. Her eyes drifting from them to take in the buildings that surrounded them, eventually even glancing at the faces of the people that had gathered here for this historic day.

What did she see on their faces? Complete willingness. They hadn’t come here against their will, and that caused the harshness of Animum’s gaze to soften a bit, her eyes traveling back slowly to the two people that stood facing the crowd. Moving from the woman to the man, studying him. Trying to gauge his character potentially from the way he held himself, the way his eyes gleamed, and even how he stood. Her first impressions of him was he was some sort of warrior, which could be both a good thing , and a bad thing. Yet for now she took all that she had seen and what she had gleaned from this first glance at the male and then she had started off with something to show atleast for the moment, she wasn’t going to cause trouble until she had figured out what kind a person he was.

”.. Nice place you have here. Now i have a a few question for you, at least before i figure out just why i’m here.”

Her eyes would specify who she was talking to, since she didn’t really have a name to go off of at this point. Her next words to many might seem bizarre but atleast if hayden understood them, or rather understood what she was trying to find out then this would go swimmingly. However it might go very very badly if he chose to brush this off as some joke, after all her questions would be given for a reason. She was trying to gauge what kind of person would be leading these nations, and who knew from what she got she could either help his cause, or hinder it every step of the way. But with that said she started off her first question.

”..If you had to choose between your kin or say a hundred thousand of your citizens which would you chose? It you would humor me i’d like to know the answer.”

She had asked her first question, then she would go into her second one,

”..If you have to choose between yourself and your people. Which one would you choose?”

She started off with these two simple questions, yet she’d also look at the woman beside hayden as she wanted to figure something out from her as well. Hence as she exhaled her tone might be a bit more, well, curious possibly? As she asked a question to Liu and nizhuan.

“..What makes you willing to go along with him? Is it anything in particular, or is it just a whim? If you don’t mind me asking. “

These to many might very well be stupid questions. However for Animum she was genuinely trying to figure out what stance she might take hence each one was a question she genuinely felt she needed to know, and with her questions asked? She would wait for the answers to either start another round of questions or make her decision. As the future at least for the moment was unclear and undefined.

[BELOW IS AN EXAMPLE OF HOW HENREX LOOKS CURRENTLY]

Spoiler:

This day....was a day of blankness for Henrex.

He felt no sense of peace, no sense of happiness as of then. He just felt blank. There was no reasoning behind it. It was just the mood that the quiet Hybrid felt. Floating a good distance within the air, Henrex observed everything that was going on upon the ground below. Two black, almost illusion-like wings protruded from his back, giving him the power of flight. He hovered there, waiting. His sword, the Zanpakutō named Chiya, shivered and shook within his protective saya, and even more so, the spirit was perfectly safe within his own Inner World. However, the spirit still seemed to be nervous.

"Henrex....I can sense something down there."

"......"

The boy said nothing in response to the comment that his Zanpakutō made. He wasn't interested in small talk with his weapon. He was here for a reason. His near dead eye stared at the scene below. He made no move to descend to the ground, at least not yet. His eyes observed and scanned the scene below him. He was wondering how he would enter this. He had said he would help, and here he was. Hovering above everything, watching. His Zanpakutō continued to surge and rumble violently. The spirit within was obviously worried.

Sighing gently, the masked boy would simply turn his neck to the right and left, hearing quiet, but yet somewhat satisfying cracks come from the joints in his neck. The pitch black eyes of the Hybrid male closed, and the wings upon his back dissipated, and he fell as straight as an arrow. Slowly, Henrex descended to the Earth below, before his hand slowly moved to in front of his chest, and his fingers pressed and slid against each other, making a snapping sound as a single orb of black and purple colored energy burst into existence.

The small orb soon moved from his chest, down to his feet, and remained there as he continued falling. Slowly opening his eyes, the boy's body became dangerously close to the ground. The moment before he hit, a small platform created itself. Formed from the single black sphere that he had spawned, Henrex's descent came to an abrupt stop. However, he would not be near the three that had come to this place. Taking a quiet breath, filled to the brim with nervousness, Henrex began to move. One silent step after the other, he slowly made his way towards the small group.

The moment that his feet touched the ground, he could feel it. The spiritual pressure from the two was immense. With three people of this strength, it was hard to not feel the effects from it. Even with his current power, he found it hard to even walk properly. Swallowing nervously, he continued to approach the trio. His eyes flickered back and forth from the more than likely stares that were coming from the three that were there. His head bowed low, and his arms hung at his sides, nervous and embarrassed. He stood a small distance away from the Vizard known as Desmond Hayden, not able to look him in the eye. His sword shook around so violently, one might think that he was so nervous that his even his sword was shaking...or that the sword had a mind of it's own. Well, it did. And it was speaking to Henrex.

"Henrex! There's a Hell Demon here! do you remember what happened last time we encountered a Rakshasa?!"

I'm aware....if I get the hell beat out of me....I probably deserved it.....

The response from the boy was not something that the Zanpakutō spirit really was expecting. He was expecting something a bit more fearful from the normally easily terrified boy. The boy's eyes flickered from left to right, unsure of what to do now.

"....I...I'm here....to help....as much as I can....I don't know what's expected of me....I don't...really know what to do...."

The boy was shaking slightly from what he had put himself into. Even the half mask that covered his nose and mouth seemed to quiver and move from his shaking. Henrex simply stood there, waiting for orders....or for a fight, if he had to.

Бери́сь дру́жно, не бу́дет гру́зно.
Many hands make light work, that is what the saying goes in Russia. A reference to the current efforts of Hayden to the development of Vastime Nation.

Somewhere in a shelter under the cold weather of Samara in Russia, Verniy has already prepared herself with equipment that is suitable with the work she signed up herself for the Vastime Nation's expansion to other areas of Africa. While lethal force isn't necessary, preparing for opposing forces was a necessary step to survival. Her thoughts with what Hayden is planning to do was basically.. nothing. By thought, her existence didn't need to question the actions of others that she pledged herself to trust and help as long as her reliability to assist others remains unquestioned by many others that may be participating into lending a hand for Hayden. With that being said, Verniy's thoughts have no weight in it, believing in what she does in accordance to her people:
"Взя́лся за гуж -- не говори́, что не дюж", If you pledge, don't hedge.

Rip.

A tear of space-time in between Africa, where everyone who volunteered to help Vastime Nation meet up and where she currently lives. By applying light amounts of psionic energy to the tip of her katana and connect her space with where she intends to go with a slice will be enough to cover the large distances between Russia and Africa without needing to do travel on foot. And there, she walked into the tear that she created and cross that very bridge, only to appear a small distance away from the rest.

Verniy would not move a single step afterwards the very moment she took a step out of the space-time tear she had made with her sacred weapon, while keeping a short distance from the rest of the people that may have gathered around. It is within a distance where she can hear conversations in a clear manner but slight vague, but it was enough for her. Not because she has some sort of social anxiety to mix with other people but she has already made up her mind of what she intends to do and no further questions do she need to ask Hayden of what's wrong, what's right, what's the idea of your work, etc. Verniy isn't a talkative type to put herself into the conversation they are holding, preferring to keep her silence and just listen on until orders are given to what she should do.

She stood in a sturdy, almost soldier-like manner with her legs slightly spread open, a katana right in front of her and supported by two hands that is on top one another. Her expression stays blank as usual, not a single hint that she wishes to form a humanly conversation with the others and would most likely be unresponsive to questions thrown at her.

It is possible for things to take an interesting turn but without given the right to question one's actions, it is best to stay and listen instead of blabbering off one's mouth. That isn't an assurance of assisting someone but more so that questioning someone's actions is nothing more but a feeling of doubt that one may fail. That is why Verniy will maintain silence and keep herself out of the conversation's field until it is appropriate for her entrance.

Again, listen more and talk less:
"Больше слушай, меньше говори."

Mirja, The Masterless Pet

Mirja, the Ashen gray wolf girl who had been up to so much lately, appeared in the vicinity. She had heard from her people that there was a guy doing stuff in Africa, and even made his home in Somolia, of all places. That was like kicking the Romans out of Rome - but not really, she didn't know who owned Rome right now or even if Rome was even a thing that was still standing, but still - so she had to come see who was doing African stuff. It must have been a choice of neccesity, since there were better places than here to set up camp.

It was hot, muggy, and had a lot of insects around, not that any of these actually bothered Mirja, since she had a strong resistance against temprature, and her skin was not something any insect could get through if it spend a hundred years trying. She got an amusing mental image of a mosquito bending it's nose trying to get in, and then flying off crying in Mosquito. Still, she wasn't entirely sure who, or what, she would see when she got here. That hadn't been on the grapevine. She had just followed her nose to here.

And, on the topic of scents she could smell - it was Reiatsu sensing, really, but Iko liked to call it smelling, and even remembered all the scents she had smelled to tell Mirja about them - there was somewhat of a nostalgic feel mixed in the the large degree of highly potent Reiatsus that she would usually avoid since she enjoyed her lungs being on the inside of her body, and even as potent as she was, she had little in the way of protection against these kind of powerhouses if they decided a fight was in order.

Heading closer to the gathering, all but invisible to most due to the total lack of Reiatsu that could be sensed, she sort out the person she was looking for, and once she had laid eyes on him, Iko exclaimed his little pet name. So Mirja lingered in the shadows and had a chat.
'Halvveis! Halvveis is here! Say sorry to him. From me. He's not bad man. ' Iko exclaimed, which made Mirja smile.
'Ohh, hey. The Emo King is here' she quipped mentally. Stirred from her sulking in the corner of Mirja's mindscape, Hvit spoke up, in a tone that tried to make it sound as if she was not interested, but still asking.
'Who is The Emo King? And why did he get that name?' as Beowulf joined in the conversation with a deep, rumbling voice.
'That is not kind, Mirja. He does not deserve......well, maybe he has changed from when you met him last' Beowulf suggested. Iko, who seemed to get along with Hvit - she was nice and friendly until she wasn't, that wolf - flew into a flurry, explaining who Henrex was, and so Mirja took that as her signal to get out of her mindscape and focus on the real world in front of her.

With swishing wolven tail, she walked up to Henrex, and patted him on the back, totally aware that she was the kind of woman to give a Monster Truck a tow to the station by herself, but hey, Henrex was a solid kind of guy, he could take an - incredibly - forceful pat on the back and be fine.
"Hey Henrex. What's going on here then? Looks interesting" her smile and seemingly exuberant manner made it seem as if she had forgotten the debacle with the letters, or at least was saving face for Henrex by not calling him out on it here and now.

Soldiers surrounded her, and the female quite simply seemed to pause. Animum’s golden gaze was glowing partially with mirth, and partially with amusement. They were non threatening yet the gesture . . that these soldiers would be willing to fight and most likely lose their very lives against beings as powerful as herself was refreshing. More than that it spoke of character, and more than that, it was a testimony to the character of their leader. So the female couldn’t help but let the smallest of smiles flicker onto her face, what a contrast! Between the despair she struggled with every day , their calm sureness was similar to a fresh ocean breeze to this ziamichi and she wasn’t about to waste it. Her presence would only dim for a moment as the doubts and uncertainties of regular citizens would simply be whisked away, anything that might lead to despair was diminished and devoured by the ziamichi and as such the crowd minus those who had been soldiers seemed to settle, completely at rest just as they had been before they had come. Next she had glanced at the weapons the soldiers had.

Sure she might not be able to completely deduce what they were precisely, but with her otherworldly level of deduction she was able to grasp simply from how the soldiers held them, how they looked and their body style quite a bit. Enough that she figured whatever was inside them was potent enough that it would even make Her wish she hadn’t been shot by it. That being said, she had absolutely no clue how to mass produce, replicate or make similar weapons to the ones these soldiers held, which was probably the point, as many nations had technologies that they kept completely as a blackbox to the outside world. Next she looked around at the space around her, and her first impressions? Pristine, Orderly, Well-kept, Functional, and . . . Well . . Spacious. Then her eyes slid finally over to hayden, and well he was an imposing figure. Even if he was a tad smaller than what she expected him to be, other then that though, his well kept appearance which started with each orderly strand of hair, and finished at the pristine black of his shoes spoke of order, rigidity , and his face reminded her of a stern leader.

However the words out of his mouth, while logical, to the point and curt. Had a lacking feel to them, such as assuming that she just flew in because she simply felt like taking a dive, and not just thinking that just maybe, the girl had done it all on purpose, that her intention was to see what kind of rise she would get out of the crowd, what kind of reaction she would get. It was all to gauge this person, what he was trying to do, and hopefully it would as well give her a clue as to where her own direction was, what she would do here in many ways was a stepping stone to ultimately what direction she would take down the line and because of it, she dissected every word this man said, analysed how he said it, his posture while he said it, the reaction of the crowd around her even as he spoke. She felt a smartass answer about to naturally roll off the tip of her tongue, however it simply didn’t happen as finally the companion or well companions that remained beside this man addressed her as well, so she’d hold her tongue and listen to what they had to say.

As Liu and Ultimately Nizhuan spoke, the flat expression that had settled on Animum’s face as Hayden spoke seemed to break, the smallest of smiles pulling up across her features as she nodded, as if what Both of them had said made absolute sense to her. Which in a way they did. Because she could see the angle they worked, if simply because of the many past experiences that both belonged to her, and belonged to someone other than her that had been crammed into her skull, They spoke of order, and liberation and they spoke of friendship and finally she seemed to get a feel for her own decision and what the situation was, but as her lip’s pursued she’d start off with a simple statement.

”Living is the hard part, dying is easy.”

It was truth, how many people went mad, broke and curled up in the eternity of life after tragedy and disaster? Too many people broke under the yoke of life, and because they couldn’t take it they simply died, the thing was with the pressure of damnation and despair crushing her every day, she had truly learned to love that statement for all it was worth, and she’d exhale and she’d segway into the next little part of her sentance.

”Many know me as not quite the rolemodel figure, but i will see how you live out your life hayden. And i will help this nation with all my might. Now as for you Two demons, here’s a question for you, is slavery freedom or is freedom true slavery?”

She wouldn’t say much more after that but she did want to hear that answer from the rakshasha and hellbeast. Simply because people fought to be free, they would fight to their dying breath for it, but once they got it they were uncertain, bowed by the yoke of their own destiny and thus a prisoner to their own uncertainties and the unknown. As such it’d be more of a question to keep herself amused, since she had already pledged to help. With that said she turned and waited for whatever little display Hayden had in store for them.

Quiet people often have the loudest minds....

More and more people were showing up. That was a good thing, and a bad thing. Well, bad for Henrex. It was good because it showed that this faction had many allies, or was obtaining many. The bad part was that it wasn't doing very good for Henrex's social confidence. He didn't like being around very large crowds. Not just that, but there was a Hell Demon here. He knew what had happened the last time he had encountered a Hell Demon. It had taken Shadin Yuudeshi to come in and save him. While he was grateful, he was going to make sure to not make a habit of it.

As his hands returned to his sides, his eyes locked onto them. Soldiers. His hand slowly began to slip into his sleeve, his fingers gently grazing against the cold, hard steel of a shuriken. His fingers wrapped around the throwing star, ready to flick it out and let the weapon fly. His other hand, however, was more focused on reaching towards his sword. His gloved fingers wrapped around the hilt of his Zanpakutō, ready to draw the weapon. However, as the soldiers showed no intentions of attacking, Henrex's cold gaze, and the grip on his weapons began to loosen.

As his hands once again returned to his sides, he heard a voice that nearly made him jump out of his skin. However, he controlled his actions, and his eyes only widened, before his head turned towards the voice. The aura of the female Hell Demon was thick with the feeling of humor. Was she mocking him? However, her words most certainly had said otherwise. A wave of her hand, and the male was left practically speechless. He really didn't know how to respond to her. His head lowered of a moment, before he felt something collide with his back. While nothing about him was injured internally or externally, he still felt his head swirl by the slightest, as his entire body was jarred from the sudden gesture.

Turning around, his hand slipped into his sleeve once again, before he found himself staring directly at....her. Mirja. His mind and eyes were confused for a moment, and his hand slowly drifted towards his side again, knowing that she wasn't a threat...yet. However, he felt no sympathy, kindness, nor anything for the wolf girl. His eyes narrowed in annoyance, and the boy swiftly turned back around, before flash stepping a small distance away from Mirja. His voice still within earshot of the girl, his words would tell her enough.

"....Don't touch me."

His head faced towards Hayden once more, but his hand soon drifted towards the half mask that covered his nose and mouth, before pulling it down, revealing his nose and mouth. If one were to look at his eyes, they would be able to see a sea of regret within them. He regretted so much regarding Mirja. The letters were the main focus. If he could go back in time, the first thing he would do would be burn the letters. Burn them and never let them see the light of day ever again. He felt like an idiot for writing those. Closing his eyes, Henrex quickly cleared his mind of these past events, and his eyes soon opened halfway.

It was not a time to be remembering something such as that. But yet, it was something that occupied the back of his mind every single day. He could feel his heart racing within his chest. His vision went blurry for a moment, but a quick shake of his head stopped it. He found it...hard to keep himself from being distracted by his thoughts. Questions arose within his mind. About the little Hell Demon, the even smaller Hell Beast. There was so much that he wanted answered. Perhaps when this was over, and he could have a small window of time to himself, where he could let his thoughts run free.
