Peace.
It was something that Kayta was soon to obtain, something that... That would be amazing to not only her, but her body right now. Every step continued to bring pain throughout her body, the feeling similar to every bone within being ground into a paste whilst her body was still moving. It was something that... Kayta's never had to deal with before. She was greedy, and even borderline spoiled if it weren't' for her harsh upbringing. Just the fact that she was going through all of this pain to simply advance boggled her senses, and only toyed with her emotions. Thoughts of doubt were easily able to permeate throughout her currently weakened mind, suggesting and hinting... At times even screaming she wasn't ever going to succeed, and would never be able to take the throne.
But someone still shined through all of the doubt. It was something that she's never felt before, something that... That the center of her being feel warm and fuzzy. It was hope. Hope that through a trial such as this, she could finally take over the Western Kingdom. Her origin was Voracity... But that didn't mean that she didn't have a heart. She cared all too much about the Sugiuran people and even herself. She needed to take the throne to make sure no one corrupt would... To make sure that only the best could be achieved for the kingdom as a whole. Not only for her pride as a Sugiuran, but her pride as a Leonhardt. She had been a part of a proud family with great power...
But they've fallen from grace, her mother retreating from the Western Kingdom to hide and try to live a peaceful life. She never met her mother, but she certainly knew that she was one of the reasons that her family name had been tarnished... But she could understand why. Many search for a normal life, and that's what Kayta wanted to protect. Many Sugiuran must not want to fight or train for the threats that will arrive, but they're forced too. They have to say goodbye to loving families simply to die in a war that they never belonged in. The Sugiuran of Voracity longed for a family.. But she knew she could never have it, instead, she could be given the power to make sure that others could keep their families. It was something that made her feel... Unique, and able to make a change.
That is why she continued to fight, her blood boiling as she finally reached Animum. The woman hadn't even noticed, continuing to step forwards until she walked right into the woman herself. At the faintest touch, her legs gave way, her entire body falling limp as her weight shifted unto Animum. She wasn't heavy at all, and with her strength, it'd be easy to both lift her up and support or... Or even snap her like a twig, right here, right now. For now, however... She remained limp. All feelings within her legs were gone, only a numb, dull throbbing. She hadn't realized, but her body had pumped enough adrenaline through her blood that she hadn't even felt her bones cracking under pressure, fractures forming throughout the bones within her legs, just barely avoiding major arteries.
She was able to feel one thing... A gentle, soft touch. It was something the woman had never felt before, not from her father, nor any of the people that had raised her. It was... Both frightening and comforting. She was naturally going to be weary of what she didn't know, but a feeling like this could be welcomed. Her body rested upon the being's own, head slumping just past her shoulders as bloodshot, strained eyes stared towards the ground. Her vision was starting to fade, blackness surrounding her field of view with hints of red being laced within. Her body wasn't meant to take this type of abuse. Her body was weak, frail... But stronger. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and Kayta hoped that this wouldn't be in vein. She hoped that this wouldn't waste her time and lead to more unrest forming within the Sugiuran people... She hoped that she wouldn't die here.
Words were spoken by Animum, barely understood by the Sugiuran due to her body starting to shut down vital senses one by one to prepare her for the inevitable fall. She... They were nice words, blunt, yet kind. Words that she had rarely received before, words that... That gave her more meaning to even fighting for the Western Kingdom, to even try for the throne. These words only further distracted her, numb body still emitting the faint throbs throughout her to show it was hurting. Her senses had been dulled enough that the woman hadn't even felt fingers sliding along her flesh, gently tracing bruises and wounds, grazing along splits in flesh where the pressure had caused her skin to rupture. Slowly, these wounds began to heal, one by one. Flesh knitting together, bruises starting to fade. Something was being left behind though, scars, marks of her trials here.
At the cost of surviving... A scar or two wasn't even bad, hell, some considered them sexy... She showed off a lot of skin, so maybe this would help her with her whole 'show-off' attitude when trying to fight... But no matter the case, she couldn't even chuckle when an amusing thought such as that passed her mind, damaged eyes trailing over to fingers sliding along her body. At this point... She hadn't even noticed that Animum had placed her against the ground and was healing her fully, energy pouring into her being to help stabilize and help her...
Wounds began to heal, bones slowly fixing themselves through snapping into place... And senses returning. With the return of her senses, came the returning of pain... And came the return of her consciousness. Her eyes began to slowly return to normal, as lips parted to howl out in pain. Her entire body tensing as already sore muscles flexed, bones that were just fixed aching with a faint dull. She was being fixed, and getting better... But fuck, it hurt. It hurt so damn much. With her howl of pain finished, she laid on the ground, eyes staring up towards Animum, chest slowly rising and falling with each breath. Soft hands had rested upon her head, and congratulatory words were given...
Kayta's lips slowly curled upwards into a smile, not one to show how cocky she was... But one to show actual pride in herself at accomplishing this. Everyone had to start somewhere... And she couldn't just simply take the throne and expect to survive things like this... So for now, she was proud of herself, and happy that she found someone who taught her just how far she was from ready to reclaiming the throne.
"S... Shortly? N-No coffee break?" A faint chuckle, followed by a grimace of pain, was given out by the Suiguran. She found her little joke humerous enough for a chuckle, which led to her body moving, which led to the sore ache returning. She could power through it if she tried or was given some time... But right now, things were still healing, fixing themselves. With the energy from her new taskmaster, she should be up and running in a much shorter amount of time than even she would expect.
"I... Fuck, this hurts a lot. But uh.... Y-Yeah. When you think I'm ready, I-I'll get up. Kay?"

”.Who said i was going to let you get up huh?”
Animum’s voice came with a wicked grin on her face as what she did next? What fairly similar to that saying “throw them to the lions” instead though it went against everything animum wanted to do. As she wanted to hug this girl, to hold her close and instead forcibly make her stronger. But the fact was her body wasn’t able to handle it yet, it needed to be pushed to the limit, broken and reborn several times before she could do what she had in mind, which was why? Her foot hadn’t even moved that far, but it did so with screeching speed and blunt efficiency that both broke the sound barrier and vastly went beyond the threshold of mach one, probably accelerating for a mere second upwards to match three or four. She would have done this not because she was cruel but because what kayta had chosen was a harsh path, one that she had to be prepared to stand up and move through, to learn and to get stronger. That was one of the life lessons that Animum wanted to convey, as she felt the cool air rippling past her foot.
Now by kick? Animum hadn’t kicked her with the tip of her foot, and thus it wouldn’t break bones, but still as it curled under the girl she would have for a second doubled her speed, and impacted her with bone rattling force. Or at least enough that probably kayta would have been thrown end over end like a doll backwards of speeds exceeding mach one for the time being. Her hands shifting as she drew something she hadn’t used in a very very long time, her zan. The serrated edge showing the state of disuse that it had been reduced too, given that Animum generally never used her sword anymore, but that didn’t mean that she wasn’t able to use it when she needed too, not to mention she was going to wring this girl through hell. She never had an intention of taking it easy on her, but up until seeing her smile of pride.. and the way that her one smile had caused such a swell in her chest she understood why she was going to push her so hard.
It wasn’t because the Vice-Captain of Squad Seven was cruel Nor because she had it in her to beat someone to death, instead? It was because she wanted her to succeed, infact she personally had resolved that she would do whatever she could to get this girl ready, and that when the time came for her bid for the throne? She personally would back her, and help her get there, because while she understood this was an issue purely between sugiuran’s this girl was now someone that she wouldn’t just send into the throat of the world by herself so to speak. Yet that.. wasn’t the point right now , as for now she had to get her ready, ready for everything that was going to happen. So as kayta was probably still flying or landed, or maybe even recovered animum would have shifted her weight ever so marginally to her rear foot. This would let her calmly increase the pressure on it, and manipulate the polarity of the ground in relations to that foot, spring vaulting her into the air with such speed it would be considered similar to flash-step.
”..Did “
The Vice Captain said as her blade jerked in a shallow thrust, too fast to follow probably, the shallow arc allowing the jagged blade to rasp against katya's cheek, slicing a vicious yet shallow line against her flesh. Deep fat droplets of blood more likely than not running down her cheek and neck from that single cut, Animum’s eyes peering in disdain ever so slightly at kayta as her toes pivoted ever so slightly, allowing her for the moment to quickly shift around kayta’s form, as in Animum’s eyes right then in her rate of speed the world seemed to be moving comparably slower, yet that wasn’t the real problem for her, it was that this.. knucklehead had compared her kindness to a coffee break. That wasn’t something she was going to allow, even if this was her little protegee.
”..You think this was a coffee break.. really?”
She’d finish as she had brought the blade jerking horizontally across her chest, cutting those over developed boobies with a moderately deep slash, missing vital organs but still. Before she finally had brought her blade back and flicked the blood off of it, elbowing kayta hard and probably knocking her over as she peered down at her, a mild expression on her face as she tapped her foot slowly and said in a tone that brooked absolutely no argument from the girl.
”..Now then, get up, next we are going to be working with swords. Your objective? Is simple keep up with me and try not to get cut too much. For every attack you block i will increase my speed by double. Your goal of course is to keep going until you physically cannot block even one hit from me, is that understood?”
Now she waited and tilted her head to the side, hoping that she would understand very clearly what she had said.
