The sound of juices and oils sizzling pervaded the room, accompanied by the boiling water in a nearby pot, and the occassional quick succession of chopping; the knife repeatedly hitting the wood of the table. The perpetrator to all of this noise stood dressed in casual clothing, albeit with an apron tied around her neck to keep the majority of the splatters off of her. She was going back and forth between tables within the kitchen, handling multiple different tasks at once in order to prepare a nice meal for what they had in mind for this afternoon. 'They', being the Big Three, were relatively new to the Vanguard's ranks, and hadn't really had the opportunity to mesh with the other members just yet. Any good get-together wasn't complete without a heady meal, and the cook for today was none other than Kokoro Miyake. Like all of her sisters, she possessed the body of a healthy adult woman, with curves in all the right places you wouldn't believe what a fighter she was. A white button-down shirt was her top of choice, paired with a dark-blue and white striped skirt. She had a full head of black hair, long enough to reach the small of her back, but so messy it looked like she'd just woken up and not brushed it at all. Her violet eyes moved around calmly as she focused on her work, making sure to prepare the meal of a professional chef. The Miyake style of cooking flowed through her arms, self-taught by the literature she'd read in the family library. She was no amateur.

Wordlessly, another woman would pass Koko by from behind, a trail of wind letting her know that the woman was carrying something rather large. Sure enough, Kimiyo was strolling through the kitchen to get to the next room with a grand table hoisted up on her shoulder, miraculously avoiding knocking anything down. The ease with which she lifted the table showed just how strong she was, as she wasn't straining at all with the weight. She was taking the table further down the building where the exercise and training rooms were; these areas were very large, having more than enough space to both have eat and play around if they wanted to. The piddly break rooms were just... not enough for the Miyakes. That's why they were moving the meal tables across the complex. Kimi did not look that much different from Koko, and they were identical below the neck except for the crucial fact that Koko was one centimeter larger in her bust measurement than her dear younger sister. Kimiyo's face is more distinguishable however, being slightly rougher in the angles, having red eyes and much straighter hair.

When Kimiyo arrived at the training room and threw the table down near the center, she sighed at the sight of the Big Three's eldest sister, Naomi. The blue-haired woman was evidently taller than either of her siblings, unnaturally so for a woman. You wouldn't know it because she hardly opened her eyes, but her irises were green. Naomi was supposed to be helping Kimi bring in all the furniture they needed from the break room, but that stopped as soon as the sofa was brought over. She now lied sprawled across it, snoring peacefully into the armrest. She honestly shouldn't have been surprised; this was par for the course regarding Naomi, and knew that she probably wouldn't wake up even if she was beat across the head. Kimi would just turn on her heel and head back to get the rest of the chairs. They were almost ready to start.

~Minutes later~

Yes, there was quite a lot of room, but a lot of it was just empty space; unused. A plain stone floor stretched across the entirety of the training area, sturdy enough to handle most of the stress caused during sparring fights. The ceiling was quite high as well, probably to allow for aerial combat as well. Kimiyo had situated the main table roughly around the center, and encircled it with whatever chairs she could find. There were also a couple sofas and mattresses brought in to just kick back and relax on, as Naomi was performing for them. If they ever wanted to move around and get their blood pumping, all they needed to do is get up and walk a little off to the side. For now though, it looked as though the food was arriving, a stack of pots and pans balanced on top of each other, each of them trailing steam as Kokoro brought them to the table. She spread them out across the table with a smile on her face, pleased with being able to please. It was her that usually cooked for her sisters on a daily basis, and now perhaps others could share in her expertise.

''Curry, fish, chicken, soup... Haha, you went the whole mile for this one Koko. Looks like you're wanting to impress.'' Kimiyo was spot on, so Koko only chuckled in response, but this was nothing short of a feast prepared. No doubt the smell alone would attract some people over here, overwhelming as it was up close. It was a decent lure, but they'd sent out letters to the other residents of complex anyways just in case. Anyone who wanted to join them for some food, play, and introductions were invited to come; directions on the back. It was not long before the designated time on the card either, so people should be arriving soon. Kimiyo would take her seat, with Kokoro scooting in on the one beside her. Naomi would come to soon as well, the smell of food enough to rouse her from her deep slumber. In mere moments they were removing the tops from the dishes and serving themselves. Tonight would be a good night.

Kraj Yuuki
Project:
Duality

Kraj, was not one to be living in the Vanguard base, but as a member of the Boros Guard, he was intended to be nearby at all times. It was during moments like these that he could hear chatter and information from other members of the organization, it was also the time that he heard a piece of info that stood out very well, but from what he was told, it was something that had ties to a lot of things. From, what he could tell, it was a gathering to meet some new people that were part of the Vanguard, invitations were sent out, but it can be assumed, that there will be anyone stopping others from attending such an event. This was the kind of info that Kraj was hoping would be absolutely true, after all if it was a banquet or gathering of Vanguard leaders, and he happened to stroll on in, he was quite sane, in believing his use of his twin, would save him from the situation that it would involve into. That was kinda a worst case kind of outlook, but uncertain info and events, were extremely unpredictable.

Eventually, the time was coming, and Kraj was on the approach, he had proceeded to hear about an individual or two that were going throughout the compound and gathering all types of items that were most part basic furniture. Sadly, he didn't get a chance to run across them himself in all that he was doing in the base, he was lucky to find that he wasn't on active duty patrolling the streets of Karakura Central at a time like this. The path that Kraj was currently seem to be walking down was either not a popular route, or he was a cut ahead of the pack as he could begin to smell food in the air, that could probably extend for quite a distance. It wasn't long though until he arrived and he entered into the area that was holding such an event, the first thing that anyone could notice about him is his bright red hair, in terms of clothing, he was wearing the vanguard uniform, with each of his swords, currently at his sides, in their sheathes. The sight before him however, was something that he had to raise his eyebrow for as he couldn't quite believe what he was seeing, but it was clearly right before him.

The room was filled with a wide variety of furnishings, but the space of this training room was still largely unfilled, the things that caught his attention next was the food that was currently being laid out across a table area. If he could have had words to describe the food, it would be top of the line, descriptions, he would of loved to have the vocabulary of a five-star food critic, but that just wasn't him, as much as he was probably going to go to heaven, just from how well the food looked prepared. Going forward, was the only other things in the room at the moment that could catch Kraj's attention, the individuals, that he was guessing probably put all of this together, there only appeared to be three of them, none of them he appeared to have recognized from elsewhere. All of them appeared to be women as well, the two that were currently setting out the food, appeared to have a number of similarities in appear, making him wonder if they were blood related. The final one, appeared to be resting on one of the sofas, he was beginning to believe that she was the one that was probably going around and getting all of this furnishing.

It was at this moment, that he remembered that without a doubt that all three of these women were to be recognized as fellow members of the Vanguard. Kraj, was glad to know that he would have the chance to work alongside these three, but he still had no idea, what might come of that, and at this point he was walking forward. He proceeded with the true intentions of this entire event as he approached the ones that seemed to be active and awake, waving his hand out to them as he greeted and introduced himself.

"Hello there, Ladies. It appears you've put together something fantastic. I thank you for it." He would state as he would quickly reach the table and go for his own seat.

Before he went for food and actually sat himself down though, he would go on to truly introduce himself.

"I'm Kraj Yuuki, The Dual Sword of the Boros." He would state and take his seat at this feast and celebration, it would almost seem to be, he pretty much couldn't decide what he would try to eat first as things were only at the beginning, of course.

Hayden mind had been so busy with life and preparing troops for war that he neglected to contact the Miyake sisters for further evaluation. Truth be told he didn’t need to at this point but it would have been nice to see how strong they were then again did he really want to be on the receiving end of all that power. Yet other things had took precedence over them that usually revolves around dealing with a Hollow within him and gaining enhanced control of a certain death esque energy. At any rate he heard of the small gather and as the only active field leader within the Vanguard he felt he should attend to make sure that any tensions were long buried and gone at least in his own mind. The battle weary soldier was currently walking down a hallway in his uniform, his once crazy hair having a slight trim to it seeing as he hadn’t cut it in a while- overall he looked more like a soldier than the last time they saw him.

The once confused man who had entered the Vanguard looking to do nothing but protect had changed drastically since they last met. Taming his Hollow and going through a small vacation to a place where he severed communications for a week led him to make some personal notes about his goals within this life. He was going to be making quite some moves that would be placing him in hot water if he failed, but he was confident in his actions. The fallen soldier was now a man with conviction that when he spoke had a purpose, unapologetic when he made a decree or reflected upon his past failures looking to them for guidance. The emotional man was being buried in a shallow grave replaced by a thoughtful man who would allow his wit to guide him followed by what he felt best- if he was going to go down this path of war he needed people that wouldn’t stray in their convictions. His morality remained as strong as it had ever been but he knew now he didn’t have the luxury of doubting himself or his leader Azure. He was apart of the Vanguard after all and now with the team he was on he was the Vanguard to the Vanguard as Kamui put it- a little arrogant but hey Kamui seemed to be right in most of the things he said thus far.

At any rate he stopped before the doorway considering his options, how would they take his arrival? Would the welcome him with open arms or see him as a coward- it was a gamble one he would gladly take with a straight shot of whiskey had he had it on him. With a final raise of his chest from a deep breath and sigh he walked into the room turning in as he stopped briefly looking around to see food being served by the three sisters and a man he had never seen within the initiative sitting at the table. Yet it was clear from the vanguard uniform he held some position within the organization Hayden had made his home; a home he was willing to die for. At any rate a tired smile crossed his face briefly as he looked at the food a mild look of surprise coming on his face then approval- Selia should she come like he requested would enjoy the women cooking and no doubt want to cook with them as she does with him. He considered the younger shinigami family to a part willing to go the extra mile to protect them due to their innocence; he would hate to see such a thing corrupted by war or even a grim battle. A twitch of his lip came as the thought passed his head but it was only a fleeting thought as he approached them slowly stopping behind a chair as he leaned into it slightly.

“Kimiyo, Kokoro, and Naomi it’s good to see you again- You looked acquainted with the place from all of this.” He motioned to the whole meal before everyone and all the furnishing they had added to the large room which he personally approved of. Hayden genuinely expressed a bit of a impressed tone as he looked at the food commenting on how well it looked. “Selia- a younger shinigami who might attend would enjoy this; they tend to bake a bit more.” He explained starting a small conversation.

“May I sit?” He asked his hands placed on the back of a chair waiting for confirmation, the calloused hand rubbing against the wood as he waited for a response. It was so much a respectful gesture being made for the sisters seeing as this was their small event; so far he seemed to be polite but not quite the tone of being their friend yet. That was to be determined by the end of this night and honestly he wanted to; the shinigami had made various friends and enemies in the past few months but he felt a certain pinge within him. Even the most hardened veterans wanted a friend to that truly understood what they went through on a daily basis.

Artist: Majikoi — Song: Black Swift Horse and Japanese Sword

Naomi was not a woman always aware of her own actions, considering she spent most of her time unconscious. The tantalizing scent of the teriyaki in front of her—fried to perfection, intermixed with various vegetables, and glistening with a sweet-smelling sauce—was causing her to drool over her food without quite realizing it. It was true, this was a nod above the usual meal prepared by Kokoro. With no ingredient out of reach, and no effort left unspent, the woman could put miracles on plates. She'd grab her utensils and begin digging into the teriyaki, falling into a daze as she zoned out everything else. Koko watched her elder sister wolf down the food as fast as her sluggish body would allow her, smiling softly. She'd turn to Kimi and point out another Teriyaki dish that happened to be on a different colored platter than most of the others. ''That would be yours, Kimi-nee. I had it drenched in sake, just like you like it. Kurashikku. Don't forget to try the Korokke on the side, either.'' It was not soon after than the girls were all engrossed with their meal, even Kokoro. A feast had been prepared and they were on empty stomachs.

The first to arrive was a man with vibrant red hair, dressed in black and dark green for the most part, tall and lanky in form. Most notable about his features was the scar across the bridge of his nose and sides of his face. Naomi was too preoccupied with her food to really notice, so she didn't even pause in her ravenous dining. Kokoro and Kimiyo were facing the door however, both aware of him before he spoke. There were smiles from both; gentle and somewhat enticing in the case of Kokoro, but casually friendly from Kimiyo. He was greeted with returning waves, the sisters more than happy to get some members in on the little get-together. ''Nice to meet you, Kraj. Think of all this as our inaugeration gift to the Vanguard. You can call me Koko~'' She gestured at his seat, wanting him to sit and relax as soon as possible. For all the work ahead of them, this moment of leisure was valuable.

And I'm Kimi, the other black-haired woman would announce, as she leaned forward and put her elbow on the table with no small amount of strength. The impact would cause a thudding sound that echoed in the vast emptiness of the training room. Kimiyo was still smiling, but her eyes were seemingly a fiercer red than before, unable to help her deep-rooted tendencies. ''A swordsman, huh? I wonder how your style would compare to the old man's back home.'' There was no denying her own battle addiction, as just the sheer mention of a title like that was enough to get her spirit rising. It was true she didn't have any name like that for herself, but among the Miyake village the three sisters as a whole were known as the Big Three, for each of them were the strongest of their respective branches within the family. She'd always been told by her sensei, though, that they were only only the big fish of a small pond. Out in the ocean, they were but guppies, metaphorically speaking. They were not used to living in a group full of warriors, like the Vanguard was, so who knew what lied out here?

Kokoro could only laugh and shake her head, all too familiar with that look in her sister's eyes. ''Don't mind her. Sit, sit, and enjoy all the food and drink you like. Oh, and the third woman here is Naomi. We're all sisters of the Miyake family.'' She nodded in the direction of the eldest, whom still seemed oblivious to the world around her despite her name being mentioned. Her eyes were closed as she ate, so Koko couldn't even be sure that she was still awake. Her two sisters were insufferable, truly, but she really couldn't complain when she too had her own impulses. ''If there's anything special you need, just say and I'll see if I can't go get it. It would not be a hassle at all, so don't be afraid to speak up.''

At the sound of footsteps outside the room, Kimiyo's ears perked up, and her muscles tensed. It was another new arrival, but judging from the aura being given off... this was a familiar character. Spiky black hair, rugged facial features, and the body of a gladiator; his name was Desmond Hayden. He would not even get to say hello before a fist was headed straight for his smiling face. Kimiyo's chair was rocking back and forth on its legs as the seat was rapidly vacated. The woman would greet him with a right hook, not holding back as her knuckles raced for that nose of his. There was enough strength to send him careening off into the other side of the hall, smashing into the wall behind him. This was not to say it was Kimi's intent, but more of a test.

If Hayden was to take the hit, then Kimiyo could only be further disappointed in him than she already was. She beared a lack of respect for him, for someone whom she was to be working alongside, and this was not a good thing. She wanted to fight beside men and women of good character, of great strength, and of dignity most of all. That's why instead of simply waving and welcoming him right away, she attacked him. It was a warrior's greeting, and to respond to it, a warrior was to counter it. For both his own sake and hers, Hayden couldn't allow himself to be struck by this punch.

Move. This world resounded through Hayden mind as the shift in the air and his mind immediately turning into a combat state as his enhanced vision was able to easily pick up the person moving at such high speeds at him. You see, since their last encounter Hayden had been training- perfecting his craft persay by meeting the King of Vizards and dealing with an initial battle in the war that had stressed his limits. His mastery over speed and his physical being was ever present as the person approached him- his focus shifting into looking for a opening as their body moved at him. It was time to break down this attack in fractions of seconds, something he could due based off his warped reality of high speed movement and the mastery he held over the mental focus he used quite often to dispatch foes with.

It seemed the person footing was solid able to make quick movements just like him although it seemed to be a tad bit slower or on a lower level than him. Perhaps this was their raw speed without any augmentation but it was still impressive none the less, something worth noting. He was able to discern the gender and familiar aura leading him to believe it was was none other than ‘Miyake’ the battle crazy and hardened sister of the bunch one that he didn’t have the best working or personal relationship with. That could be chummed up to different mentalities.. or perhaps similarities Hayden wouldn’t admit even on his deathbed. He was the one searching and constantly in battle, despite what he said some part deep within him craved to always battle- even in death he needed that rush.

Finally it was worth noting the aiming of the tight balled hard knuckled fist was aimed directly for the center of his face, his nose. The meaning of this could be chalked up to about fifty different things in all honesty but for Hayden, this was simply a way of proving himself when he couldn’t at first. A warrior greeting was what she wanted, nay, demanded from the high ranking official one he would gladly return without haze or hesitation. Afterall. if they where to work together they needed to know the ends and out of each other so much so that he could rely on her in a fight and vice versa. Yet, he knew before he could even begin to accept this or think of that he needed to gain their respect something he was accustomed to by this point. So be it, she would get a glimpse of his power so make her understand- he is her ally but he refused to be pushed down.

The first movement he took was shifting his feeting back to allow for a loose stance something he had developed from studying great fighters such as Kenpachi Zaraki and formulating his own style referred to as Hellhound for short. It was used to fight one handed with his Zanpakutō while utilizing hand to hand combat or vice versa- it could also depend on just Hakuda or Zanjutsu making it quite the force to be used when he is done fully developing it.At any rate once she was within striking range the male would intiate the next level of his counter to her punch at his nose. But first it revolved his left hand coming up, his strength and speed at a level to allow him to counter the punch fast enough to parry it but keep her momentum going forward.
Hayden had simply stepped out of the way rather quickly with a shuffle to his left as well, this would keep the Miyake speed and force going forward but make Hayden be out of the line of fire. This is if he allowed her to keep moving, for as this was happening Hayden right foot kicked forward hooking behind her right foot to essentially trip them and force them into the air at such a quick speed that only those with advanced speed could keep up with his motions. While she went into the air Hayden right hand curled into a tight ball his muscles pulsing as he felt them tightened with raw brute force developed over the past months and years he had spent training. Hayden hand would travel down at insane speeds breaking into speeds so fast that his hand caught fire from the kinetic force of him rubbing against oxygen.

Where the fist was first aimed was a specific point on her body, just under the center of her chest where her solar plexus lay. His focus had pinpointed this area to not only knock the wind out of her but allow for a solid hit to land at least on her torso. The strength behind the attack was easily enough to shatter the ground beneath whether it hit her or not but should it find it’s mark she would be forced down at hyper speeds to be imbedded in the ground. This wasn’t Hayden strongest level of strength or speed but Miyake could easily content with this strength but the true factor behind this was the amount of focus and speed that accompanied the attack something that not many people had like Hayden. While he had the body of a warrior and gladiator he had promised himself to become not only strong but overall physical mastery over his being from the amount of his muscles were used to the complex synchronization his body had with his abilities.

Even if the fist did not land Hayden would have countered the attacked succesfully by using her speed and strength to carry her forward and extending his foot as a way to throw her balance off. This would allow him to gain distance and send her off into the wall he would have been sent into she intended to throw him through from the rawr power she exerted.

Once the ordeal was over Hayden hand would come to wipe back the spikey hair that was slightly unruly from the ordeal, his hazel eyes looking at the Miyake with a almost challenging gaze. It was the gaze of a man that had changed since they last met- one that no longer required respect from his peers. It was the gaze of a man that had accepted what he was and worked to improve what he had- due to this he would not give into another pretty face or a punch that could topple mountains; he had tamed his hollow and death matter powers. He refused to be whipped into submission by this fellow warrior- he didn’t know their story and they didn’t know his but from the fierce strength and speed he exerted while giving her a unwavering stare it was clear her message was across with a reply: I am not a weak person; test me if you want.

“Are we done here?”

He asked his tone not quite sarcastic or disrespectful but more of a legitimate question; where they on equal grounds now. His foot went forward as he bent over slightly to extend a hand should they need to be helped up but it also held a bit of semblance to it- should she take it in Hayden’s mind it represented the strange unity they had formulated. But even if they didn’t need to be lifted up he would still extend the hand for the same purpose.

What a whirlwind of movement; an enterprise of animation. The contrast between the past and present was stark, an attack that would have once done the man in now was left abated as Hayden refused to let her knuckles connect with his face. That alone was good enough, for the kinetic force that rocketed out from her fist now harmlessly passed by and struck the wall behind him with a gust of wind. The plaster was cracked and diminutive shards of paint were ejected from the wall where they cascaded flimsily to the ground. A loud crack sounded in the hallway, drawing the attention of the others toward it, though by the time they managed to catch sight of it, the exchange would already be completed:

While Hayden had already passed, it would seem like he was going for a bit of extra credit, as Kimi noted the beginnings of a counterattack with a little dose of her fighter's insight. Ah, trying to use my momentum against me, a classic, she realized quickly as his foot slid behind her grounded one. In order to worm her way out of this one, she had relieve the right side of her body of her own weight, stamping down with her left foot in and shifting her balance. Rather than work against his tactic, she moved with it, throwing herself into a rapid spin. Her right arm whipped out and smashed into the oncoming burly missile released by Hayden, while her long black hair would snap around and whip him in the face with a potency not too far from the weapon itself. Even the air around her seemed to support her defense, a sudden current drafting around Kimiyo to push the trajectory of his fist away and ultimately blow him away from her.

To conclude, a swift escape, as the woman propelled herself off of her left foot once she was facing away from him. She was but a blur of dark colors as she flew back over the table, tapping the wood with her fingers to send herself into another spin. With impressive momentum she hurled herself back into her rocking seat, causing it to begin falling back, but she'd catch the underside of the table with her foot to stop it midway. All this by the time everybody managed to turned their heads toward the doorway, and Kimiyo relaxed back in her chair as if nothing had happened; though it was clear that nobody here had really fallen for it.

''Only decent, hehehehe...'' she would comment, a wry grin and playful gaze set on her face. Kokoro would bring her hand to her face and chuckle softly, all too familiar with her family's antics. But what has happened would not deter her from welcoming the man as normal. She placed her elbow on the table and her cheek in her hand as she gestured toward Hayden, a smile on her face. While the trio was new to the Vanguard, this was one familiar face to them, and one they could be more comfortable around. Their embarrassing first meeting in the past, they now stood side-by-side as allies, so such things could be forgotten.

''Hoi there, musclehead, nice to see you again. Looks like you got the invitation so go ahead and join us. This is our gift to the people of the Vanguard for welcoming us. Anything you see here, you can have, and just ask if you want more.'' Announcing this seemed to remind them that there indeed was food in front of them, and both Kimiyo and naomi would return to wolfing down their food as normal. Truly, with bodies such as theirs, it was almost entirely expected to have such a voracious manner of eating. Judging from the size of the feast on the table, one could predict the Miyakes had quite a large appetite.

So concluded the hostility between the ‘musclehead’ and the ‘hotshot’ Miyake sister.

Even with the evasion of the first attack the combative sister had to go a step further, moving with a grace that struck the soldier both physically and mentally. Physically it was the hair whipping in his face causing him to grunt shaking his head as he remained focused on her as she managed to make her way back to her seat. Her movements matched each other effortlessly it seemed before taking her seat, looking like a cat who was trying to feign innocence.

None the less Hayden was impressed by their quick reactions followed by how they managed to make it back to their seat gracefully and even getting their own ‘strike’ in. This was one of the impressive powers displayed by one of the Miyake sisters, something Hayden would keep in mind when assigning one or more of them to a mission. Out the outside he was crossing his arms with a slight smirk before shaking his head after being welcomed inside by one the sisters- the name meathead was endearing but not one he would like to be put on his record.

In his mind, just before he stepped into the room, he was currently processing the different ways the Miyake sisters could prove vital in vanguard efforts. Yet, this was the mind of a soldier who held decades under his belt but when it came to simple interaction it seemed that everyday he had to rely on what he learned a sa soldier rather than as a civilian. Some would say Hayden was a soldier first and foremost but with that being said it meant a certain sacrifice of his humanity- a soldier never blinks till the war is won.

He wouldn’t take this moment for granted, it's these rare moments outside of being a soldier or vanguard official that it reminded Hayden that this was what he fought for as a human and shinigami. These rare moments of peace and kindness amongst friends that wasn't determined by borders or birth right but by the simple will to want to improve the lives of others at any cost of themselves. So as Hayden took a seat at the table on the other side of the one who attacked him, besides as strange as it sounded being attacked by her made it easier to sit across from her- like they weren't complete strangers.

“Musclehead huh? I like to think I'm a bit smarter than the average rock.”

It was a innocent enough joke but just as he was about to start making his plate he was momentarily caught off guard by the Miyake’s… Ravenous hunger to say the least. But this was soon back pedaled with a mental slap, considering their strength and energy this was to be expected of people like them- they needed to replenish their energy reserves something Hayden understood completely given his own set of taxing abilities at times. ‘Enough with this pondering- time to eat!’

With those final thoughts Hayden went back to picking out his meal out of the feast of food opened to him, which honestly consisted of a lot of vegetables and beef. Perhaps as a shinigami red meat was bad for him but he would consider this his day off for the time being, hopefully his uniform would still fit after this luncheon. However, between bites he would find some time to actually strike conversation with the sisters.

“So, I don’t think you’ve ever told me what your motivations where for joining? I believe on the rosters ya’ll are all assigned to different divisions.”

Hayden spoke naturally and smoothly much different than the strained voice from earlier, it was the voice of someone who was relaxing and dropping the military etiquette. In fact his southern twang was slipping just a bit but nothing outrageous except for the occasional ‘ya’ll’. Perhaps today each party could learn a bit about their fellow allies.

Food disappeared from their plates at differing rates: Kokoro was the most refined of the three, thus eating the slowest of them all as proper manner would dictate. Every little action of hers could be studied for details of her upbringing. The three were sisters but perhaps she was raised by another paternal figure, or perhaps it was just something beyond the reach of guesswork to discern. The other two did not share Kokoro's elegant cultivation, and probably only utilized their utensils in order to differentiate themselves from savage beasts. The fine prongs and sharp edges of their silverware tore into the solids like claws, picking it apart into bite-sized pieces before promptly stuffing the substance into their mouths. These two would not be matched in voracity, however, as Naomi's sluggish and lazy movements did not match Kimiyo's otherwise swift ones. The youngest of them was the first to sit back away from an empty plate, sighing contentedly.

She picked her teeth clean before answering the man's question, depositing the small pieces of meat back into her mouth by sucking her fingers clean. ''Heh... it must not be obvious, huh?'' she said, as she wiped her hands clean on a nearby napkin. ''We hold all this power, so we want to use it to do good in the world. That's the answer; it's that simple. Hopefully you're not disappointed.'' She gave him a look that suggested there was more to it, and she just was pausing for him to think something along the lines of 'Well, I probably could have guessed that,' and feel a bit silly. As Kimiyo reached for a bowl to pour some of Kokoro's custom-made curry into, she continued, her voice now beholding just a slight tinge of somberness.

''Though if I had to be completely honest with you, I would tell you that the pride of our family was playing a very small part in this. At the very least we're doing it the right way, fighting for the Vanguard. Others in this world have the same kind of power, and they just keep it to themselves; good-for-nothing. Some are even worse; villains of the world, the guys we fight against.'' Kimiyo would lean forward on her elbows then as she finished readying her dish, looking at Hayden with her half-cocked smile. ''Anyways, I'm telling you this so it's very clear to you. The Miyakes are here because it's our responsibility to be here.''

Naomi would finish just as Kimiyo began her second dish, releasing a pent up ''Pah!'' into the air and smiled ear-to-ear with fulfillment. Then, to snap the tension in the air in half like it was but a thin string, Naomi commented on the subject, her voice filled with whimsy. ''Naomi came to the Vanguard 'cause Azure-kun is heeeeeere~'' The statement caused Kokoro to chuckle and respond with her own impish joke. ''And I joined just to make sure our young Kimi-nee didn't get herself into too much trouble with her heroics, is all. I do not know what she is going on about~'' Together, the two sisters restored the spirit of cordiality to the room, much to Kimiyo's chagrin. A clear groan was emitted from the woman's throat as a soft red invaded her cheeks. She tried to cover it by looking down into her bowl and heavily concerning herself with the consumption of it.

Kokoro looked over at Hayden now, her expression a gentle contrast to Kimi's hardened and arrogant one. Rather than a knowing smirk, she gave him a full smile, complimented by the two pools of lavender that were her eyes. She would brush one side of her enduringly disheveled black hair out of the way of her face while she addressed him. ''The way to deal with Kimi when she's being far too serious for her own good is to embarrass her, dear Hayden. Don't let her bully you.''

''Actually, that's the way you get me to shove my fist into your face,'' the Miyake retorted, though it only caused more laughter from her siblings, which caused yet another groan from Kimiyo. Truly, it was impossible to conceal their kinship, with interactions such as this.

Hayden found himself the second person in reality to be finishing his food when taking into account the miyake sisters appetite. He was only outclassed by the ravenous Kimiyo who hunger seemed to know no bounds till he saw her physically finish her meal, which was aggressive to say the least. But how could one argue with that, if she was hungry let the woman eat seeing as from what he heard Kimiyo held such a physical prowess it only made sense from a biological standpoint for her to consume as much as she did. It was such a strange thing to think about- back when he was alive there was few humans who could eat so much.

“Far from disappointed. I suppose recently I went on a personal binge trying to better myself. Sins of the past and what not but I’m glad to see more heros out in the world. I’m getting tired of all the Villians just spouting their nonsense about how it doesn’t matter and the world is messed up. Frankly, I’m more inclined to your point of view.”

Ah the sins of the past, how many arrogant and rash decisions had the man made within the past few months before he began to weed himself out of that with his friend Cirno. While Hayden may be one of the more blunt and forceful of the Vanguard having no qualms with killing someone most of the time, it’s different when trying to be the good guy. He needed to work on his restraint but he was doing that in his own way by focusing his energy and time to more productive goals- like making friends with the three sisters.

“All of your reasons to join are valid- if you plan to watch after our dear leader Naomi do me a favor and make sure he’s prepared to enter a war with shadowfall. Again.”

The mild irritation in his voice was present, Hayden was a warrior through and through and didn’t mind going to war at a minute notice. However, he did have a problem when his leader expected to go to war without telling his very people about it.

“It was noble of him to try to do it on his own, but in here we are family. If one person is going to fight in our name for a valid cause then he should have expected us to all jump in. I just wish we would have had more of a notice.”

Hayden briefly forelay on the topic showed his concern for his leader but also the organization as a whole, he couldn’t act his fullest without his leader being there to guide them. It was a bad operation that somewhat had some benefits but between Saiko and Ash things where not great.

“So to keep your hotheaded sister from causing to much damage I can respect that. Though if I have to ‘put her in check’ there is always a perfectly good sparring arena and areas all around here.”

Hayden wasn’t one to back down from a challenge as as he crossed his fingers under his neck with a slight smirk on his face directed to the sister it was evident he was willing to cross fists with her at any time. That included now should she fly over the table and sock him in the mouth. Heh.

A KING'S REQUIEM

AZURE IRAMASHA
忘れっぽいです

The silence was disturbing, the Vanguard Commander's office shook in the intense quiet. In reality, it was far from quiet. The sound dampening walls that littered the circular room kept sound from entering or escaping, a massive amount of sound bouncing back and forth in the room. Music had been blaring at volumes that were indescribable, each instance of bass being amplified by Azure's own abilities. It shook the generally large room, his eyes focused on a single spot at the rooms center. Surprisingly, a small ball danced from left to right, dropping and rising with each hit of a not the music emphasized. The tiny rubber ball came to a soft landing at the rooms center as the music faded, the Vanguard leader stretched in the large chair behind his small desk. Overextending his arms, he flopped backwards into a loud crash, shaking the room out of pure force.

"Idiot." "C'mon, it was an accident. Like you wouldn't have done the same." The loud banter between Azure and the Husk within him went unnoticed by the soldiers of the Vanguard. Picking himself and the chair up, he turned to the black wall behind him. A simple touch of his hand brought it instantly out and to the side, revealing a small elevator towards the main floor of the Headquarters. Without another moment passing, Azure shuffled his way towards the elevator as he waited for its arrival. Rubbing the back of his neck, he yawned as he lazily waited.

In his semi-awake state, the Vanguard Commander wore a simple white tee with a set of black pants to match. He spent little time taking care of himself when it came to working on the base itself. The Vanguard were constantly working, Azure especially and with that it causes him to spend little effort on things that weren't actually work. With that being said, he was already on his way to a designated area within the Headquarters itself, the exact location being the Recreational area within its reaches. Stepping into the elevator that had just dinged, he lazily pressed a button and leaned against the elevator walls.

In nearly an instant, the man's eyes closed and reopened to the main floor of the Vanguard's underground headquarters. Stepping out, Azure rubbed his eyes and walked onward. Watching his surroundings, he took in the sights of man and woman working together under a single banner. Each and every person he walked past either nodded or gestured towards him as he smiled and responded quietly. With each passing second, he bounded his way towards a sectioned off portion of the headquarters. Pushing his way through a large set of double doors, Azure Iramasha found his way into a room that was relatively large in scale. Without much thought, he took in the view as he looked for a single man in particular. Desmond Hayden, a member of interesting nature to Azure.

Finally, he located the kid. It was even a bit more interesting, given the fact that his company was none other than the Miyake Sisters. A simple shake of the head followed Azure's steps as he found his way silently to the group. Without speaking a word, he attempted to sneak his way around the group to reach Kimiyo's chair. Yet again, without knowing what could happen, the childish man stuck his face directly next to the young Miyake and whispered into her ear.

"It isn't nice to punch people, Kimi-Chaaaan." With a hint of sarcasm filling his words, Azure had finally arrived within the circle's area, a hearty smile filling his cheeks.
