Song: THE TRACK - Artist: GOES HERE - Words: N/A
This upgrade is to increase Perseus' tier to 1-4 (Upgrade bought here https://www.platinumhearts.net/t5378p300-the-tier-skill-upgrade-store). The training for this upgrade happened as a part of th https://www.platinumhearts.net/t14204-operation-forest-restorationcleaning-the-filth
During this process he also re-awakened the following ability.
Complete Conversion is an ability that Perseus has always had, but is never willing to use. Until recently.
This power allows him to do one thing, and one thing only. It allows him to turn any sort of matter, whether it be living, dead, or non-living, into any pure element found on the periodic table. The amount of the object doesnt change, as it normally would when Perseus changes an object since in that case he fuses them into larger atoms, which then leads to large amounts of energy being released after the atoms become unstable. This ability is the true definition of alchemy, turning one material into another, though it requires little to no equivalent exchange.
Perseus refused to use this ability due to his last uses of it. He didint have a choice to do it. Over a century ago when he was still a russian secret, they made him use it on living subjects. The Russian army wanted to create a type of human warrior that was composed of different elements so that they could have a chance to fight in escalating wars. The process of converting living creatures into some sort of living metal seemed to be undersood, just replace all that carbon for the metal that was desired, keeping the structure of the body intact, but now resilient.
It did not go as planned.
The process was incredibly painful to the subjects, often taking hours, days, weeks, or even months for subjects to completely convert, and it rarely ended in actual death. The individuals survived the conversion, but were in intense pain and their cognitive abilities diminished to nothing more than what seemed to be mere children, looking only for an end to their misery.
Perseus watched them go through all of this, and he knew he was directly responsible for this. To many people this would cause them to just simply give up on their life, but he used a coping mechanism to shield himself from the severe depression and possible insanity that the events could bring to him. He compartmentalized. He coped by removing his emotions from the situation at hand, causing him to separate using complete conversion on living being and the memories that cause emotional turmoil from each other. By doing this he becomes emotionally "dead" when using the ability.
He can use the ability without any detriment when no living creatures are involved (he does not consider plants to be living thus can convert plants without any detriment). When he uses it on a living being then his emotions shut down for several posts ranging from 2 posts when used on basic hollows, to a maximum of 10 when used on humans. There are various factors that can affect the length of this effect as it is dependent on what reason they are being used. If he uses it on a human trying to commit a murder the length will be considerably shorter as opposed to if he is forced to use it on an innocent person.
When in this state Perseus' mental deduction increases as his mind is unimpeeded from looking at things from any angle he possibly can, but his focus drops as he is focusing on too many details at once, causing his reflexes to be delayed if he wasnt looking at a certain thing as it happens. His pain endurance is increased, as with no emotions fear leaves the building, but will power stagnates as self preservation leaves the building as well.

Some missing details we need to address with this ability...like any ability that is like this. How is he doing this? Not necessarily the science of turning one substance in to another, but how the character himself causes the reaction. Does he need to come in to physical contact with a substance? Can he look at it and say "You are now a squirrel?" How long does it take? Is the process instant? Does it take a couple posts? Do inanimate objects require less attention than animate ones? Can the transition be interrupted? If twenty midgets fought four velociraptors, the midgets armed with sandcastle shovels, who would win?
These are details that determine whether or not this ability is balanced and fair, consequently they need to be added.

This ability mainly works by affecting the atoms electromagnetic forces. Perseus can have a very short range of effect between 5-10 feet, but the ability works mainly by touch or direct contact with an object that Perseus has changed. That is if Perseus is holding onto an enemies sword and he changes the sword instantly into some element, the enemy holding on it would be affected as well if they dont drop it before it reaches them.
He cannot turn a person into something like a squirrel. He can turn objects and living things into pure forms of the elements in the periodic table. For example he could turn a hollow into a statue of pure carbon, or just turn it into oxygen. He can also do this selectively, he can turn just one part of your body into an element, or just pick an element in your body, such as hydrogen, and turn it into another one while keeping the functions and structure of it.
The length of the process depends heavily on the strength of the one being affected. Very base hollows (like in the thread where this ability is introduced) take no more than a post to change, anything higher than that takes much longer to fully convert. This is related to the ENTIRE BODY CONVERSION. If he were to just focus on a certain part of the body, such as a hand, on a character around his power level would take 2 to 3 posts to fully convert. A full body conversion would take more time than a thread would allow as in normal humans it took a few hours to convert just all their carbon into other elements. The transition can be interrupted if the character uses a large amount of energy to halt the process, the area affected is cut off or quarantined in some way, or Perseus decides to halt or reverse the process, for which he has to be in physical contact or 5-10 feet away.
The effect on inanimate objects is almost instant, only taking a few seconds to convert it and it can spread from object to object in a much larger radius of a maximum of 50 feet. 50 feet would be the exception to the rule as that would consume large amounts of energy.
And I think that there might be a stalemate. 5 midgets per velociraptor could overwhelm them but their weapons wouldnt be effective.

So what about inanimate objects that regularly have energy flowing through them? I.E. a Zanpakutō or a weapon that consistently has energy moving through it for an effect?

It would work similarly to a living being. It would be as if it were a limb of the owner taking 2-3 posts to convert for someone near his level. But he could not do a complete conversion of the owner beginning with it as it is its own entity.

Edit these clarifications in to the description of the power.

«ARE YOU GOING TO FINISH THIS?»
This has been sitting here awhile and I was wondering if this was going to be finished or not? If I don't get a response in the next few days, I'll go ahead and assume yes and archive it.

[adm]kAY, i'M assuming you aren't working on this and throwing it into archives since it's been a month without a reply. If you want, just make a new one or re-post in this thread saying you are working on it.[/adm]
