Arrival of a lonely one. Empty Arrival of a lonely one.

After a long, long trek, Chloranthy had finally arrived at the massive wall that now lay before him. He looked upon it, gazing long at the great height of the structure in front of him, and he thought to himself. Chloranthy had been brought here by Eldrazi's reputation. It was supposedly a paradise of equality, prosperity, and order, where everything within was good. He had come here to see it for himself with his own vision. To find out for himself how much it holds up to it's reputation. He wanted to see if that while being an embodiment of order, it was still really so good. He may not know it actively but he may also be possibly searching for a home, as after so much time of being alone he had started to instinctively seek company. He felt lonely, and if such a paradise as Eldrazi where the problems with life that sickened him didn't exist, actually existed, just the idea drew him towards it in hope.

Eldrazi... order.. it now stands before me, the pinnacle of order, an almighty paradise. Just what do you hold within you?

He turned his head away from the greatness of the wall and to the gate before him and began walking forward. While his hands appeared to disappear into the sides of his coat, his arms were instead bound to his body at the wrist. He found it more comfortable that way as his arms didn't get in the way of anything. His clothing also seemed to flow as if blown back and forth by wind even though the air around him was silent, as this was only his body moving about, just to be ready for anything that may come at him unexpectedly. His face was like stone, expressionless and unmoving, only facing forward as he approached the gate.

Hirenkyaku, the step of God. Thin air was replaced with the visage of a uniform-clad woman. It all happened so quickly that there would be little time to react to it, and perhaps it would even scare him a bit. The whirring of machinery and clicks of mechanical parts moving about filled the area as four massive cannons trained precisely on the demon's torso. They were like the guns ripped straight off of a battleship, and miniaturized for personal use. Each one had two barrels that were about as long and wide as an entire human arm. They were attached to the woman's back by thick metal appendages, and there were even smaller cannons placed on top of the appendages as well, making for some ridiculous firepower for only one person. The woman herself was a long-haired blonde, dressed in a feminine gray-and-red military uniform. She looked both professionally deadly and dangerously attractive at once; this was the suit of an Eldrazi soldier.

''Halt!'' came her surprisingly deep, biting tone. She held one palm outward toward the stranger in the universal gesture to say stop, generally understood by all no matter the language they spoke. To make her point, each and every one of her armaments gave off a glow from deep within their barrels, humming with energy as though they were about to fire. He had not even yet stepped into the land of Eldrazi and he was already seeing the firmness of its rule. If this unknown figure did not display cooperation with the soldier, he would be blown up on the spot, leaving nothing but a smoldering blotch on the ground where he was once standing. This was not unusual for those who approached the gates of Eldrazi, the people around these areas should have by now understood this. No matter... everything would go just smoothly if he didn't start any trouble. Such would be the tone for their entire exchange. In the most typical fashion, once boundaries were established, the woman would demand aloud of the man: ''State your business with Eldrazi.''

Though Chloranthy's expression would remain unchanged at the sudden appearance of the woman before him, his reaction was still pronounced. Hit footsteps stopped and his clothing would whip around violently for a second and his right arm would quickly ascend from out of his body, landing to point a finger directly at the sudden newcomer ahead. The air around him would begin to shimmer for a few seconds, only to die down quickly. His arm would be lowered back into his body and the movements of his clothing would calm back down to an occasional sway. He wondered if they were always this violent, but he wasn't here to fight. Remaining ever stone faced, Chloranthy answered the woman's demand to state his business.

My approach in all of it's nature is not violent in intention. I do not strictly have business with Eldrazi. I have been drawn to Eldrazi by it's reputation and I wish to experience it. I assume you.. allow potential citizens to approach?

Chloranthy would will his body be still, ceasing it's flow and causing it to not only fall still but appear to lock in place as it hardened, excluding a small length of it at the bottom as to not overly hinder movement.

Artist: Savant - Song: Siren

Reneta was quick to stand at attention at the presence of her superior, straightening her body out entirely and saluting in Choranthy's general direction. Her weapons evaporated into a multitude of light particles, leaving her unarmed as she stared off over his shoulder. To Chloranthy, the sight would be rather sudden and random, seeming as though she were inexplicably hailing someone she'd never met before. Seconds later though is when a third presence would register for the youthful male, directly behind him. She'd not really given any indication of how she arrived, as it was not through high-speed movement, nor through a portal, nor teleportation. If one were to make an educated guess, it would be as though she'd always been there, and just hadn't revealed herself until now. Her hand moved gently toward Chloranthy's shoulder to softly rest upon it, though if there was a sign of resistance, then she would withdraw without complaint. Her body was seriously pale, white like marble, and just as lifeless at first sight. To contrast that, she had searing crimson hues that practically glowed as they overviewed the specimen before her, like rubies. They were the kind of eyes that one could get lost in, deep as an ocean, inviting others in. One look at them would cause voices to invade the minds of others, whispering at them, making them feel safe with her, comfortable with her. She was so close to him that she was able to lean her head over his shoulder, allowing her long azure locks to splash down his chest and arms, yet no other part of her body would be touching him.

When she spoke, her voice was a chorus of chimes, melodic and beautiful. She had the voice of a siren, and her words fell upon his ears with chilly breath. ''Yo there,'' she exhaled in a genuinely pleasant tone. Her smile looked so natural upon her face, even though Nozomi as an entity looked wholly unnatural. She was a great many things; a Quincy, a Ziamichi, a Human, something entirely its own thing... There was no one word that could fully describe who she was. She was one of a kind. ''At ease, Reneta. Back to your post, I'll handle this.'' She strolled past Chloranthy from behind, presenting him with her backside as she moved to stand in between him and the gateway to Eldrazi. The soldier who intercepted him would relax her salute and then vanish the same way she came, her body blurring into nothingness as a gust of wind announced her departure. Nozomi turned around to look at the demon alone, now, in a uniform not quite so different from the one Reneta had been wearing. Hers was pure black and white in color scheme however, making the few colors of her person that much more striking. Only the red armband on her left arm gave the suit any color, and then her hair and eyes supplied the rest.

''Don't mind the strange greeting. Things are the way they are for a reason, just understand that much. Call me Nozomi... I rule this land.'' She couldn't be expected to explain the subtleties of her Dominion before even the exchanging of names. It was not so surprising to be introduced to this woman so quickly, despite her stature as a ruler. She was an insanely efficient leader, so she had the time to do what she wished. To each and every individual of this country, she had the time for, and for potential residents, she exhibited the same treatment. His small explanation was just enough to catch her attention, and so the violent services of her soldiers were not needed. Chloranthy could perhaps sense that he was still being watched by others unseen, many many others. Still, it was easy enough to ignore them if he allowed himself to get lost in Nozomi's vivid eyes. ''So... tell me exactly how far you're willing to go to experience utopia?''

...Hmm?
Chloronthy raised an eyebrow as he wondered to himself as to why the woman in from of him had suddenly started saluting. Though this session of self thought was brief as in a few seconds he turned around to face the newcomer he now sensed. He rotated his body about 45 degrees as he turned his head to get a visual just as the newcomer placed their hand on his shoulder. He stood still, not responding to their greeting as he studied them. Another woman, this one of obviously higher standing. His body would stay locked in and his head would rotate half back to the position it was formerly in, keeping the women in his sight and still keeping some of what would be behind him in his peripheral vision. He gritted his teeth as the blonde seemed to disappear.

Grrrh.. can't even come close to tracking them.

Chloranthy spent some moments contemplating his weakness, switching his attention back to the new woman when she addressed him and introduced herself. He kept his silence as he continued observing her, taking her form in and making sure to check the area behind him every now and again as he did so. He would remain silent still until she then questioned him on how willing he was to enter Eldrazi, he assumed. He would contemplate his words for a bit longer, but soon responded a few seconds afterwards.

I call myself Chloranthy.... What would you ask of me?

It was a difficult question to ask of anyone, truly, and if Nozomi was in his shoes not even she would refuse the very notion of it; it wasn't even a hard decision. So with that in mind, she could only close her eyes and chuckle lightly before she dropped the request on the one known as Chloranthy. ''Oh, only the most valuable and personal thing you could ever possess, my dear. Your thoughts.'' She paused, allowing it to sink in for a moment, for it was something that needed to settle before any words were spoken. Still, she had to clarify so that nothing was misunderstood, for there could be no confusion about what this entailed for him. ''To be precise, I am asking you to open your mind to me so that I may delve within and see every little secret residing within that head of yours. Your thoughts, your character, your emotions, your past, everything that you are made of. It is necessary, and every citizen of the Eldrazi has gone through the same thing. This land has become utopia because there are no dark thoughts hidden away, no ticking bombs in the shadows waiting to blow. It is because I know all their thoughts and their ideas that I can keep this place in perfect order, you see, so it is a necessary sacrifice for those who wish to become a part of this place.''

She stepped forward once, then again, her hands reaching out toward his forehead, continuing her speech uninterrupted. ''I have to peer inside your mind to make sure there is not a darkness within you either. I can't let a wolf in sheep's clothes within these walls, for the sake of the Eldrazi people, and for yours. This is the only way to do that, Chloranthy, so I apologize for having to ask this of you. If you refuse my proposition, then go, leave Eldrazi and do not return unless you are prepared to relinquish your mind... Otherwise, step forward, place your head against my palm, and let me in to your thoughts. I will judge whether you are worthy or unworthy of utopia.'' Nozomi's radiant energy leaked out of the pores of her palm and fingers, giving off a spiritual pressure quite different than any other being in existence. Whereas most Reiatsu was a weight that permeated an area around them, Nozomi's was a mist that slowly seeped out of her, bathing the area with a pleasant, fluid aura. It was not menacing whatsoever, and in fact was just as inviting as the rest of her features. Now, it was his time to make his choice. Still, they said fate was set in stone, and Nozomi's smile had a sad inflection to it as she observed the man before her. She could not see into his mind, but already she could tell what the end result would be.

Silence. As he listened to what was needed of him he listened in silence. He knew there would be a catch. Such a place as Eldrazi was made out to be there would of course be a catch. He stood still and kept a face of stone throughout all of her speech, but inwardly he laughed. He laughed at himself, at how pathetic he was. Why would he of all things deserve peace? He couldn't hold back his laughter as it manifested physically as well, starting out as small occasional giggling and soon bursting out just as much as it was inside. He raised his right arm from his body and pressed it against his forehead as he looked down at his feet. He soon managed to calm himself, lowering his hand from his forehead and instead holding it in front of his downward gaze. He raised his gaze a bit, still looking downwards with a residual grin left on his face.

Sorry, it just came to me how weak I am. All I've done and still expecting salvation to be handed to me, Ha! Your statement about thoughts being the most valuable and personal thing of me, they hold truer than you would probably think. They are all I have left after I killed myself by having the rest torn out just because I couldn't take it.

Chloranthy looked up at the woman before him as his grin faded and he assumed his usual stone faced demeanor once more.

Nozomi.. with eyes like those you could easily tell mine are all but empty now, especially with that tint to your expression. I, as my eyes suggest, am empty. No true form, no true voice, not even feelings to call my own.

As he said his last sentence his body would drastically change before Nozomi's eyes, twisting and shifting in a manner of seconds into a form that resembled her's exactly as he even spoke in her voice. In his newly found form, left hand still fused into his body, he would close the distance between them, grabbing her hand and pressing it to his forehead. As he spoke he would change back to his original form, all the while staring into Nozomi's eyes.

Now then Nozomi, read me. Tell me what you think, and tell me truthfully. Do you think that something like me can or even deserves to achieve any kind of salvation or peace?

Artist: Savant - Song: Siren

Any semblance of normality that the man retained was obliterated as he saw her half-hearted smile. As Nozomi delivered her speech, a sense of hopelessness washed over the one known as Chloranthy, and then the dams were opened up. It started as a slow trickle, a low rumble; he began to giggle sporadically while she was still speaking. Then it grew more boisterous and occurred more often. Eventually he was in an uncontrollable fit of laughter, and Nozomi could only sigh softly in response. There was no longer any second-guessing to be done, as she now knew without needing to read his mind, that this man had already snapped. He was a person who hadn't been saved from a tragic course of events in his past, and now his mind and soul had paid for it. Things were lost in him—it took no genius to see how empty of a person he was. Nozomi Arius eyes saw the truth clear as day. You could say that at this point, the mind-reading would be completely useless, as Nozomi already knew what answer she would give to him, but she presented him the opportunity anyways. Why? Because even now, it still presented the slightest bit of hope for him. He was not the man Eldrazi would accept, but he had the ability to change his fortune.

Chloranthy more or less told her what she already expected, hence why she did not seem too phased by the revelation. It was nothing Nozomi hadn't witnessed herself in some fashion or another. Ah, I see... were her only vocal thoughts to when the man's form changed to mirror her own. It was a little shameful that a small part of her was already analyzing the ability and every in and out of how it was performed, but it was just habitual for a person like her. One could never be too secure. On the outside, Nozomi expressed a believable degree of surprise, able to perfectly imitate the expression of eyes widening ever slightly and causing her own pulse to rise. Again, it may have been an act, but it was for Chloranthy's sake. While Nozomi knew she would not be able to help him, she at least did not want to make the instability worse. Saying his piece, he took her hand and placed it on his own forehead, fully opening his mind to her. In order to answer his question, she truly would need to delve into this mind of his, and find the crux of his persona. With the contact between them made, and the gates open for her, the process was easy and painless. Chloranthy would not even feel a thing from this method, not a sting of pain.

''...And done,'' Nozomi announced curtly after approximately half a minute, removing her hand from his forehead and dropping it to her side. She frowned and shook her head. ''Now you'll want your answer, Bernadotte?'' Likely, he might suspect that she'd never read his mind, considering the short amount of time it took to scan every iota of information concealed in his brain, and that he'd receive no sensations from her prying. It was just the nature of the Arius—she was only looking, and so long as he was open to her, she did not need to move things around in his head. So, she offered proof in the form of a name he used to go by, so that this all wasn't just some big joke. She had bad news for him... but she also had good news. While on one hand, she had seen his past and present, what he was and is, on the other she could see his future through the capability of intense accelerated probability. She had her answer: ''I don't need to give an answer if you will or will not be accepted into Eldrazi today, as you already know it. Instead, I'll graciously respond to your question. Do you deserve salvation? Will you deserve salvation? The answer is yes, yes because you will leave here with the goal of changing yourself for the better. You'll find a way to rebuild your instability and the return here. And it is then, after you have become whole once again, that Eldrazi's doors will be open for you.''

She stepped back and bowed to him, before vanishing altogether. Even though his eyes had seen it this time, the process would leave him confused. There was no longer a trace of her there, as though she'd never been there at all. Her existence just seemed to erase itself completely, leaving only the memory of her form in his mind. Nozomi was elsewhere, coming to the aid of the people within Eldrazi. She was a busy person given her reputation as the leader who dealt personally with all problems within her land. As expected, she couldn't spend too much time on a person not part of her society. Hopefully, Chloranthy would understand, and leave here with new purpose despite his downfalls. Perhaps...

Chloranthy stood silently as he found himself alone. He thought for a while about Nozomi's answer to his question even though he had already formed his own answer. He would never belong in Eldrazi. He would never be whole. He would never again be Bernadotte as he had ended when Chloranthy began. He had to stop reminiscing the past. He wasn't Bernadotte and never would be, he was Chloranthy and he was whole as he was right now. It was true that he could evolve, he could change, but he could not be fixed as he was not broken. He wasn't broken into the form he was now; he was born into it. Chloranthy took a step forward and looked up along the wall of Eldrazi. Bernadotte would've been happy within Eldrazi and so he would leave what was left of him within his mind here. It was time for him to leave as himself. After a few seconds Chloranthy would turn around, putting his hands back into their original position fused into his waist. His coat would lightly sway behind him as he walked away from the walls of Eldrazi.
