Personality: Kinoen acts as if he's not even there. Rarely speaking unless giving warning or criticism. His general look is that of someone who has no idea that anyone is even in the area. He does have allies, and superiors, and to those people, he talks, he's cheerful and respectful to those close to him. He treats all enemies, and all opposed to him, as if they were children. Disciplining and correcting them on what's wrong with their techniques mid-fight.

Zanpakutô Spirit:
Name: Urami Fukai Raion (Vengeful Lion)

Personality: Urami is quiet, much like his master. Speaking only when training or disciplining Kinoen. While training, he offers friendly advice, but never lets up on his relentless assault. He wants Kinoen to get stronger, and he genuinely cares about his master.

Appearance: Urami

Sealed Zanpakutô : Urami Fukai Raion, in it's sealed state, takes the appearance of a normal katana with an orange hilt, the hilt having a long yellow ribbon coming from the base of it. The orange crossguard is in the unusual shape of a pentagon.

Shikai Description: When Kinoen's shikai is released, his sword instantly dissolves into orange particles. The particles then swirl around Kinoen, covering his hands and face. When the particles fade, his hands are shown to have grown fur on the back, and the fingernails extended about 3 inches each into long black claws. His eyes change, the pupils extending vertically and shortening horizontally into cat-like slits. While his eye color changes from green to yellow. His canine teeth also extend about an inch each into fangs.

Shikai Abilities:

Raion Notodoroki (Roar of the Lion)
Kinoen can roar at an opponent, the power of this roar can temporarily stun or force back enemies, and destroy any nearby walls, buildings, etc.

Raion No Shiryoku (Sight of the Lion)
While in shikai, Kinoen has the ability to see exceptionally well in the dark. He can also see farther, and analyze more, just from passive sight. The drawback to this being that too much light shining at him at one time can knock him out pretty easly.

Raion No Tsume (Claws of the Lion)
With this ability, his claws glow with an orange tint. When this ability is used, his attack strength and speed (with the claws) increases by about 17%

History/Background:

HUMAN LIFE

From birth, to childhood, Kinoen never said much. His parents ended up taking him to several different specialists because they thought he was incapable of speech. Everyone they went to said that Kinoen was perfectly capable of speech, he just chose not to. Oh sure, he spoke, when he needed something or was in pain, but beyond that, he just didn't say much. In his high-school years, his lack of speech kept him from having many friends. He was looked on as an outcast, and a freak. He spent freshman through senior year having absolutely no friends, despite having top-grades, and being by no means unattractive. He just never spoke enough to make friends.

One day, on his way home from school, Kinoen ran across two of muggers assaulting a girl from his school. He quickly diverted his path into the alleyway and confronted the muggers.

"Who the hell is this kid?" one spat, holding a knife to the girl's throat

"No one important, I'm sure." the other one laughed heartily, rummaging through the girl's purse.

Kinoen walked forward towards them, swinging a hard right hook at the one looking through the purse, bringing him down quickly.

He turned to the other, kicking the knife from the muggers hand. The mugger retreated, running to the mouth of the alleyway.

"Are you alright?" Kinoen asked the girl, his voice deep and compassionate.

The girl nodded before screaming and diving to the side.

Kinoen wondered why, he had only enough time to turn around before the gunshot was heard. Kinoen dropped to the ground, a bullet in his head. The mugger who ran away had come back and shot him.

SOUL SOCIETY

Kinoen lived in the seventy eighth district of west rukongai. One of the most lawless places. His daily routine was to scour for any food he could get his hands on, avoid thieves and troublemakers, and just try to stay alive. For nearly two hundred years this lasted, until, after months of training, he finally formed a solid ball with his spiritual pressure. At this, he immediately applied for the Shinigami Academy. After passing the enterance exam, he started classes. He exceled in sword play and hand-to-hand, and he was decent at kido and shunpo, but he was definitely not the strongest person in the academy, his muscle development was less than desirable. After barely passing the exit exam, he is now an official member of the Soul Reapers.


Roleplay Sample:

Kinoen opened his eyes and stretched, looking around his quarters sleepily before standing up. "Today is definitely going to be a long day.. I can tell already." Kinoen thought, rubbing his eyes before changing into his soul reaper uniform. He takes one last look around his quarters before heading out the door.

"Oh, hey there Kinoen!" A soul reaper in his squad said to him as Kinoen walked out of his quarters, "Nice morning, huh?"

Kinoen nodded wearily, walking past the other soul reaper and down past the other quarters, "I really don't want to be disturbed today... But I have a feeling..." he thinks, looking up at the sky, "That something's going down... and I don't like it at all..."
