Re: Shinigami Exclusive Zone: The Swamp Of Enrichment [Black World Arc Special Stage]

Watching as the draconic kido collided with the one whom she had been fighting, Tessa let out a sigh of relief. She hoped it would be enough to bring this individual down and stop the fighting, what with the world around her destabilizing, the earth falling apart and flames bursting forth from its depths. Quickly moving towards one area that was letting flames free, Tessa inhaled, the flames surging down her throat before she swallowed, sighing happily. Her previous wounds had been healed, and she even felt a slight increase in her energy reserves due to devouring the fire that had come forth. In truth it was lucky of her that this world was now falling apart as she could now heal herself without the help of her captain. As it was, she didn’t really care so much for that man, but the fight she had stumbled in to was one to enjoy. Thus she hadn’t even commented when the man’s body had been dragged out of the area by one of his loyal subordinates. It was then that she noticed the red miasma surrounding her, and her eyes widened as she felt the effects of it. With her wings now keeping her aloft in the air, it was extremely lucky for her that she had devoured the fires this land had created, for if not she would have died due to the stress on her being. Glaring forth at the one who dared do this, the one who she had been fighting, a low growl escaped her throat. As the being finished speaking, Tessa spoke up, her voice barely above an animalistic growl.
“Bakudo 79, Kuyō Shibari.”
Her hand shaking as she watched eight black holes that emitted spiritual energy form around her opponent as a tidal wave of rotting death energy was released by the female. Standing directly behind one of these black holes, the energy would find itself blocked from her position by the kido she had cast. However, due to the weakening effects of the miasma along with the sheer strength of the blast, the kido shattered with tremendous force before the final black hole could form over Saiko herself. With it, a much weaker blast headed for Tessa, and as she stood her ground it hit her, her armoring kido straining under the blast and finally shattering as well, but it had managed to completely block the remains of the blast. Panting heavily, Tessa knew she was weakening, her bankai was still stressful for her to utilize, she needed more training with it to use it to the best of her ability. For now though, she could use its power for a little while longer, and so she would put its power to good use. Landing on the ground below her, she raised her palm in the direction of the one she fought.
“Hadō 63, Raikōhō.”
With those words spoken, a single book had its cover glow with yellow words before rushing to be a mere half foot from the one Tessa fought, before opening itself. Shooting from the pages of the book, a yellow blast of energy, the power of a full incantation Raikōhō fired off from the pages at near point blank range towards Saiko, the blast aimed towards her midsection. At the same time, Tessa simply flicked her finger and two more books glowed with energy, moving to be a couple feet from Saiko before releasing the binding chains Hainawa from their pages towards Saiko as well. With these kido finished, Tessa panted heavily as she felt the books slowly begin to fade from existence, the giant ghostly tome behind her vanishing as her sword reformed in to its sealed appearance. Despite the returning of her zanpakto to its base form her body did not change, showing that she was still in her more powerful draconic form. Standing there, panting heavily as her vision swam from the sheer exhaustion of her use of energy, Tessa knew she would have to wait until the fire she had devoured early could work to heal her body an replenish her energy reserves, reserves which were being slowly drained by the miasma surrounding them.

The world of the inverse realm was coming closer to an end. Landscapes were fading away at rapid rates, many Saca Dila's were vanishing into the abyss and the energy of the dimension around this battlegrounds was becoming outright unstable. It was getting ready to blow and it beckoned the end of this clash of shinigami.
Hence, in that moment, there was a sense of relief that oozed into the body of Saiko Mori. Not only was the realm around them concluding, but it seemed that her opponent failed to realize that she was achieving most of her objectives and did nothing to stop them. After all, one of the first goals that Saiko succeeded in was assembling this sacred water of the swamp. By capturing this enriching water within a vortex that served as a teleporation gateway, the first bit of THe Archduchess plans was coming to life. Without Tessa lifting a finger to cease its transport, this wave of enhancing liquid was delivered itself safely into the depths of Shadow Fall's HQ for further research. That meant that they would have another tool to further the extent of their power.
Then, with the combined objective of snatching away the gem that fueled this portion of The Black World? Well, they could work absolute satanic miracles with these resources. Add to the fact that she took out a Captain, crippled a Captain-Level Shinigami and wiped out an entire troop of Shinigami? Well, this little nervous wreck of an Archduchess did quite well for herself -- much to her dismay in causing so much unintended bloodshed.
Furthermore, when combined with the fact that The Dragonic Shinigami was losing power fast, it was obvious what the outcome of this battle was going to be if she insisted with battling The Void Enigma. While Saiko herself was a bit injured, despite the intense exhaustion of her mind, the body of The Pale Betrayer was more than able to continue fighting. Sure, her energy was somewhat lowering, but not nearly close to the rate to where Tessa's had dipped to. In fact, she could sense that a reversion back to her base form was coming at the rate this clash was going.
This all could easily be seen in the way that Miss Morrowend failed to properly deal with the toxic miasma she unleashed on the field. Her kido was failing mid-way and it just wasn't potent enough to deal with the obstacles Saiko put forth. Which, to her, was not surprising. The reason for this is because The Archduchess did not have a Bankai to fall-back on like most Shinigami of her class. Instead, she focused on ensuring that her base abilities were fearsome enough with her tactical skills in order to overwhelm her opponent. Therefore, the anxiety eased in her heart when The Void Enigma witnessed this end coming to pass.
The only thing that she had to give was a few more kido spells that The Archduchess felt confident she could cope with. Then, once those were out of the way, she could see the end of this nightmare. A nightmare that made he relieve much of her skewered and treacherous history with the Gotei 13. It was akin to seeing a light at the end of the tunnel and Saiko just had to fight a bit harder and longer to view its gaze. And, when caught in it, she could escape this torment -- at least for a little while.
Therefore, with this image burning in the back of her mind as motivation, a sense of frantic frenzy consumed Saiko and she entered a fight or flight state. Everything was moving in slow motion at this point. Down to the trees that burned to ashes around them, the particles of earth which vanished in every direction and even right to the sweat that oozed from Tessa's pores while firing off her kidos. Everything needed to be timed correctly because this Archduchess wasn't going to allow herself to falter to the jaws of failure here.
Henceforth, as her Raikōhō was shot off, a tendril comprised of rotting DE Force extended from Saiko's plum and shadow colored aura. From its release, the potency of this strike was faster and stronger than that of Tessa's kido due to the fact that The Void Enigma was becoming stronger, while The Dragonic Shinigami was weakening. Thus, it was akin to cutting through butter with a knife when it came to dismantling the kido attack and corrupting its proprieties to break down and cancel it out.
Then, with a sudden gusting of speed, Saiko pushed all of her energy into her limbs in order to evade getting caught up in the chains of Hainawa. Breathing becoming slow and focused, she directed her sights towards this golden flare of energy and sought to consume it in waves of corrupting darkness. More than likely enduring the same fate as the previous attack that The Dragonic Shinigami attempted to hit The Void Engima with.
Now, having dealt with most of her tricks, there was nothing else to do other than seek escape from this horrid place. This then meant fleeing into her barrier, but not before taking a form of pity on her opponents. Through new fond power, Saiko decided to leave a sphere of energy in the hands of Tessai. It would shoot off from her palm with a purple glow and take off like a blazing comet towards The Shinigami's chest. Should it hit? Then a sealing kido would go into effect. Its intent was to seal the enriching properties of the Black World Swamp and allow The Dragonic Foe to reach a new level of power after this clash concluded.
Why would Saiko do this? Simple: repayment. She more than likely caused this opponent quite a bit of pain and misery, and when combined with her guilt, The Void Enigma wasn't thinking right when giving the enemy such a tool. However, from her perception, this was more than right and it would ease her conscious in order to sleep through another night.
Ergo, with the pieces for victory assorted, there was nothing left to do but her address her foe and make an exit:
"This is the end of our battle, Tessa. You can't stand to fight me as you are any longer. I apologize for the grief I've caused you. But....please....take that as a token of my amends."
Those words were spoken in a calm, but somber and hurt tone. The Void Enigma tightened her eyes and fought to keep the imagery of this day from invading the depths her mind. For soon after she stated her peace, The Archduchess began to become consumed by a shadow and was eventually taken back to SF Headquarters to report on her mission.
"Sayonara, brave dragon."
And with that -- she was gone.
