The night air was cold in the outskirts of the city, it seemed that for the citizens of Karakura who were perhaps unlucky to live in this area it would be a cold and harsh night for sure. The chilling air seemed to blast through the streets and over many unfortunates taking their rest on the ground below, for them it wasn't a choice to sleep on the dirt and slowly freeze but the only thing they could do in such a time of desperation. The saddening scene was not made much better with the bright city that could be seen within the light not too far off from the outskirts, the new Karakura town a beacon of a city standing defiant against the hordes of monsters and creatures that seemed to make themselves apparent in this day and age. This defiance while a sign of human strength did not help those living in the outskirts make ends meet, nor did it keep them from suffering under the fear of being caught out by a stray hollow or clever demon. No hope could be found with these people, it may have been why the wandering spirit seemed to watch over the area... It was more comforting helping those without normal aid than it was fighting in the masses that made themselves apparent in the central areas of Karakura. Yozora had taken a few liberties with his patrol path for sure, but he felt that being in the city wouldn't help considering the only enemies that would get that close would be much too powerful for someone like him to deal with as he currently was. Though he was use to the area the dark night and chilling air surrounding him as he looked down on the unfortunates who made this area their home... He thought about his own predicament and found it a shameful position to be in, his life had no issue while these people barley struggled through the barebones way of life that they had handed to them. To him their way of life seemed more meaningfully, at least they got something out of it and could strive to do something with their limited life... Being a spirit took the fun out of striving for things if you could live practically much longer and do it later in life. The cold environment surrounding him even more caused his eyes to feel heavy, he hadn't slept well for a bit and it seemed that he could only now do with some rest as he was managing to depress himself. That is one way of doing it... He sat as he looked up to the moon as he felt his body seemingly feeling heavier and heavier... His last sight before closing his eyes was that of the moon hanging in the sky before he reopened them. "Still there huh? Suppose that's normal." Think aloud his thoughts he turned to the city that could be seen in the far off distance, it was not the same however, the light that seemed to glow off it had a more ethereal power behind it, he had noticed it even when he looked to the sky and a the great pearl in the sky with its appearance being greater and more unnatural than usual but the city which seemed less like that of Karakura now was the definitive proof. The skyline was no longer dominated by buildings of all colors and stories, instead they all fell into a ominous blackness with their great height being an impressive show of the domination of this city over the great expanse that it took hold. "Huh.... This is why I can't get any sleep... Even in my dreams I'm too awake." Looking below the building that the Shinigami had found himself on was no longer only a few feet off the ground, now it was almost hard to see the ground as it stood a few stories higher than any building around it. "Still gotta go through this night by night..." The Knight had experienced these dreams ever since he took up his sword, it was normal for him to come to this strange city in the sea of the unconscious now... But that didn't mean he had to like going here.
Looking down from the edge of the massive expanse the youthful spirit would note that he still wasn't afraid of heights, luckily too as he was sure he'd be even more irritated by such a dream if he were to be scared in it as well. Moving his foot into the endless space between ground and sky he would begin to make a move downwards letting what seemed to be gravity to do the rest, in any other time this could be considered dangerous or even suicidal, but as he fell taking up more speed Yozora would not seem fearful of any repercussion as he went faster and faster. With the ground coming closer an incident seemed to be assured, however instead of what would seemingly be a splat the young man instead just slowed to a halt and found his footing on the ground below. Looking around the dark alleys of the city seemed to be the same as usual empty except of the ominous haunting that seemed to creep around the world as if to evade the light that was usually found in the surrounding areas brought down by the moon. "Well not much I can do now except wait till I get up why is this my new normal?..." He knew that it wasn't a matter of doing something by now, he couldn't just escape but instead he would have to wake up. In the real world his body was still lying on the cold cement of the top of the building that he was resting upon his eyes closed and seemingly in a dream, only time would tell if the knight would wake up anytime soon...
