"What do we do her-- Oops, my bad..." Alchemist Tyler "Ty" Bourgoine 人間の錬金術師
---------------------------------------
It's been a few years now that Tyler and his homunculus left the former state of safety within the United States. Tyler felt very uncomfortable with the fact that it was under control of a Demon and that they were able to opening take control of whatever they wished within their confines, and thus Tyler decided to take Faith and head north to Canada, but even then Canada wasn't entirely safe as it was in the possession of another powerful being. Fact is though, that Canada is so barren the higher north you go that it's desolate landscape really helps play off for hiding. Especially for an Alchemist who can use all resources around him for the means of him and his partner. Besides, it wasn't like Faith even needed much as she was a homunculus and didn't require much to survive, so evading their enemies and moving was actually quite simple.
The night before it snowed quite hard, and it caved in the two inside their log built cabin in north Vancouver. Of course this wont be an issues as Tyler would just melt the snow outside and move on, but the fact they could use it as an excuse for a personal day played off quite well. Tyler woke up that morning from his bed with a small smile as he crawled out and just walked into the kitchen wearing shorts and an undershirt. Tyler dressed how he liked not really caring of the opinion of others, as he felt it wasn't their business to say how he should or should not live. He also didn't shave, as stubble was growing off his chin and upper lip, forming a goatee in a way, but somewhat lacking in volume.
As he emerged into the kitchen area of his cabin, he put his glasses on as he opened the fridge and began to investigate what to make for breakfast. He also felt like cooking for Faith as it would really allow him to break out the creativity first thing in the morning and really kick it up a notch. Tyler shouted out while still observing the contents of the fridge to wake Faith up, or make her realize he was awake if she was already up.
"Faith, get up. I'm making breakfast. What do you want?"
Tyler began to pull out ingredients for a generic meal consisting of pancakes from the looks of things, as he brought out eggs, milk, and blue berries from the fridge, but then went over to the dry storage to emerge with flour and sugar. He wanted to make a good meal as today Tyler planned on using the day to relax and just have it to himself, as he was tired from constantly having to walk to the nearest market for supplies, as well as constantly chopping wood and doing chores to ensure the lifestyle of Faith and himself would be well.
Not only that, but he had to ensure that Faith was not also taking bad care of herself from time to time, as she was a new being in a body made by him. She would not take care of herself from time to time and Tyler had to get on her just to properly bathe, brush her teeth, and even dress herself based off the outside conditions. Either way, as Tyler began to work on the meal ahead, he awaited for Faith to emerge so he can tell what kind of things he'll have to do with her ahead. Was she going to show up naked again? Was she going to be a mess of some sort, or would she surprise him for once and actually dress herself?
Either way, Tyler awaited for her arrival to measure how their day would look ahead...

Canada is cold. Faith had recently discovered that fact after moving there and still hasn't gotten used to it. She liked the warm sunshine of her old home with Tyler but this place was cold. Too cold. Everything was just snow and cabins. It was like they had taken a step back in time to a more primitive land. Then again, what did Faith know? She was new to pretty much everything so moving house really threw her off. Luckily she has been learning how to act like a human. There are of course stupid things she continues to do like take peoples things without asking and burn herself on the stove. She has good intentions! Honest!
Faith had been awake for a little while now. She had been koving around in her room still wearing a long white night gown. She had been spending the past few minutes looking out of a window at the snow. It was so weird. She hadn;t gotten used to it. Faith decided to open the window and immediately regretted it once the cold air hit her. Shivering, she closed the window. What she didn't understand, was why she suddenly felt so cold. She was shivering like crazy. Canada was cold!
"A...ah....so cold...."
Tyler then called her. He wanted to know what she wanted for breakfast. Food! Faith slowly began to wander to the door and stroll down the stairs until she made it to the hallway where she could see into the kitchen. She then stood perfectly still and held herself, gripping her shoulders. The fridge was open so she felt even colder.
"C-c-cold....T-tyler....why am i cold?..."

Tyler got to work on breakfast, when he began to hear someone approaching from the stairs above. It would seem that Faith was awake, and she heard him thus meaning she was coming down for breakfast. It's good she's on a natural sleeping routine, but she still needs to learn a lot more to become fully understanding of the adult life of a human being. She was learning quite fast which made things easier to Tyler, but was still difficult to cope with over time. Either way, as she came down the stairs, Tyler proceeded to mix the flour and egg into a bowl as he started mixing them together with some sugar and milk to create a thick batter. Tyler was thinking of adding the blue berries now, but wasn't sure what Faith would prefer. Would she like berries, or would she prefer to have chocolate chips? They were a bit childish, but Faith had that sort of mind set and liked things that were simple and tasted good, so he wouldn't be surprised if she preferred another ingredient to the Berries.
Tyler turned to see Faith at the end of the hall as she had stopped and exclaimed that it was cold. Tyler did accidentally leave the fridge open, but he proceeded to close it and lean towards the hall way to get a good look at her. She wasn't naked this time which was good. Most would question Tyler's integrity of the fact he was living alone with such a beautiful girl, one who was also simple minded and open to many things. People would doubt his intentions and think he'd take advantage of the girl, but Tyler was better than that. He had a high stance of internal morals and integrity, and not only that, but this girl was his best friend from childhood. He cared for her so much that he wouldn't dare harm a hair on her head, and he wanted her to live the life she was robbed of years ago. The reason he revived her was due to a promise with her, and he would not dare break that promise they made when they were kids, and he sure as hell wont let anything like petty sexual relations get in the way of her happiness...
"Faith, go get changed. If you wear that too long you'll catch a cold..."
Tyler just smiled a winked at the girl, hoping she would understand, but then again, she was right. It is indeed a tad chilly, and Tyler wasn't really prone to feeling heavy temperature differences, due to the nerve damage his skin had taken from many different alchemical experiments. Tyler set the bowl of pancake batter to the side and started up the oven as he proceeded to walk out of the Kitchen for a moment. He made his way to the living area, past Faith, and approached the fire place. This should get their home all warmed up in no time, and Tyler did prepare plenty of fire wood before hand. Grabbing a couple logs from the hold, Tyler placed three of them into the fire place and then used a knife from the side of the fireplace as he began to etch into the log a circular design. The circle had a diamond format square within the circle, a smaller circle within the diamond design, and then a vertical eye. This was a summoning circle, but Tyler wasn't using it to summon, as he was instead going to use the essence of the Fire Phoenix to begin the flame. By sacrificing one of the logs, the essence of the bird had appeared and brought the remaining two logs ablaze and began to radiate it's warmth through the cabin. It would take a moment for the heat to really sit well, but it was a start...
"Breakfast will be ready soon. You want berries in your pancakes Faith? Or would you prefer something else?"
Tyler stood back up, his 6'3" height and medium build towering over Faith as he walked by her once again back into the kitchen. Of course, Tyler was a 25 year old male, and he was prone to attraction, so when he did walk by, his eyes quickly scanned Faith and and he smirked knowing her beauty. Either way, Tyler grabbed an iron skillet from the wall and placed it on the stove and lit it, placing some butter on the pan and allowing it to melt. Tyler was happy with this life really. No one out there to kill them or attack them. Just peacefully going day to day and taking care of one another. It was really nice that Tyler can rely on his friend, and she can rely on him too...

Faith stood in the doorway and shivered as she already was. The girl was cold and the cabin wasn't exactly warm. The girl was too focused on the cold to really care that her hair had fallen over her face. She did however grab her trademark red scarf and nuzzle her face into it to keep warm. Tyler wandered past her and into the front room where he decided to put a fire on. Faith had seen Tyler do this a few times but she was always told to stay somewhat far away from fire and dangerous things.
She followed Tyler into the front room and watched him do his thing. It was so weird and he never really explained it. She just took it for granted. This was how Tyler worked. He seemed happy with the fire he made and went back into the kitchen. Faith however wanted to warm up so she quickly rushed to the fire and sit in front of it. It was nice. Really nice. The orange hue flickered in the reflection of her eyes as she stared into the flame. It was wonderful to finally be warm again. In fact, she somewhat forgot what she was doing. She lifted up a hand and began reaching for the fire. Her hand was getting hotter and hotter. It was getting a bit too hot. Faith quickly pulled her hand back in fear of getting hurt and disobeying Tyler. Just then, Tyler called out to her. What did she want to eat?
"U-um...I...T-tyler can choose..."
She didn't trust herself to choose something she likes. She might bite into it and absolutely hate it. She didn't know and what she didn't know scared her. Tyler had to always help her out.

"What do we do her-- Oops, my bad..." Alchemist Tyler "Ty" Bourgoine 人間の錬金術師
---------------------------------------
As Tyler began to pour the batter in specific amounts to make pancakes, he heard Faith reply to him regarding her desire of meal. She stated that her can choose for her, but that wasn't the answer he was looking forward to. He wanted to hear Faith pick something for herself since she usually just sits by and has Tyler do everything for her. He wanted to see her establish favorites and desires, and perhaps start to develop her own interests, so this answer was not going to sit with him. Ensuring the skillet was set in the center of the flame, Tyler proceeded to pour a cup of coffee from the coffee maker and fill his mug. He then took some milk that was already out, as well as sugar to add and give his coffee a little flavor before he sat down at the dinner table.
"Faith, would you come in here please?"
Tyler was waiting for Faith to enter the kitchen so he could explain to her that she is welcome to have interest in her own things. It is legitimate for people to have interests and hates that reflect ones own feelings, and Faith needs to understand that. Once she is able to understand that, she will be able to know what she wants and doesn't want as time goes on. She would also have to learn better moderation of those wants and desires as too much of one thing is never good for anyone. Then again, Tyler was still studying the effects of being a homonculus, meaning Tyler can use this to his advantage of their special form of species. As soon as Faith join Tyler in the Kitchen, he would proceed to ask her questions reflecting her desires.
"Faith... What do you like? Do you like certain foods you've eaten more? Do you like pictures or animals more than others? It's okay to like some things, and when you like those things, to lean towards them and prefer them from time to time. It's the same as dislikes..."
Tyler then stood up and went back to the stove to flip the pancake. One side was already cooked through as it made a lovely soft brown color ensuring it was fully cooked. Tyler proceeded to speak to Faith in hopes she'd listen.
"Are there things you do not like? Things that make you feel uncomfortable or sad? Those are dislikes and it is okay to avoid them from time to time, to stay away from bad things like such, just to make yourself happier..."
It didn't take long before the pancake was done, and he would place the completed breakfast item onto a plate to cool. Not waiting, he poured more batter onto the skillet, waiting for her to respond and see if she understood. If she understood, then perhaps he can really make a meal that would reflect her interests. He really wanted to make her something she'd like, and not just another generic meal like always. He didn't know why, but since today was a personal day, and not a work or investigation day, he wanted to use it to spend more time with Faith and help her understand and grow better. Whenever Tyler spends time with Faith, he feels happier, and loves being around her, so this sort of thing was actually very nice to do from time to time.
Faith knew that Tyler wasn't going to be pleased with her answer. He always says that she needs to learn how to make her own decisions but she just doesn't feel confident enough to do it. What if she makes a wrong move? What if her decisions weigh heavily on her life? She doesn't want to make things harder. She doesn't want to upset Tyler. She's a burden enough as it is.
Tyler called to Faith, asking that she came into the kitchen. She felt odd, as though she wanted to disobey him but knew that she couldn't. Was this called anxiety or even maybe fear? She was scared of Tylers reaction as she knew he wouldn't be happy.
She was correct in assuming Tyler wasn't pleased but he certainly wasn't mad as such. He was just concerned. Faith slowly walked into the kitchen and looking at the floor. She knew she was being bad. Tyler began to ask her questions. She listened well, trying to make up for her mistakes.
"I...I like the warm...and dislike the cold....I-i don't know of any animals....or pictures... I just stay with Tyler. He knows what's best for me..."
Faith tried to be honest. At the time, she could only think about what was happening now.
"I like seeing Tyler happy....and dislike seeing him sad.... I don't like being yelled at....I...um..."
Faith slowly shuffled across the room to her seat where she would sit down. Tyler had gotten up to finish her breakfast, but as he was about to bring it over she quickly turned to him.
"B-berries....please...."
She tried to crack a smile, acting more like a grown woman. She really finds doing this hard.

---------------------------------------
Tyler watched as Faith entered the kitchen area, while he politely sipped on the steaming mug of coffee in his hand. He could see the expression of concern on her face as she debated even answer his question in the first place. She muttered in a low tone the things she had a known interest of, and dissatisfaction of as well. They were commonly known, as most were deterred from colder temperature, and welcome to warmer temperature as they were quite relaxing. She didn't seem to hold any sort of favorite animal, as she didn't seem to know any. This was something Tyler would remember, as he would maybe have the opportunity to take her and introduce her to some friendly wild life, and show her how even animals are all part of the cycle of life. Tyler was expecting this sort of menial answer from Faith, but when she said that she just stays with him, and he knows what's best, he began to question himself. Does he really know what's best? He's only 25 years old, and he brought her back to life due to a personal wish, but he defied the natural cycle of life just for her wish and his selfishness. Also, he never spent much time with one girl his whole life, as yes, after Faith died, he did have small menial girlfriends to pass the time, but he has never spent so much time with just one that he would consider himself to know what's best. It was as if Tyler wanted her to have a mind of her own to challenge him at times. Tyler knows that it's easier to live with one mind, but to improve, it needs multiple minds to flourish.
Tyler was pulled from his train of thought however, when Faith decided to carry on her interests and dislikes. She said she like to see him happy, and dislikes seeing him sad. This pulled at Tyler's heart strings a little, as he was a young male, but hearing that the best friend he's admired for many years say that really spoke leagues above all else. It meant she cared about him, and that she was showing some levels of compassion. This was great progress because it allowed new improvement of her own emotions, and that she was no longer just thinking what was logical to her standpoint, but what seemed right to her heart. This was indeed a great form of evolution to the young woman. Tyler couldn't help but let out a small chuckle when Faith said she didn't like being yelled at. It's true, no one likes being yelled at, and it's a common disinterest for anyone really. So the fact she was able to realize that was very amusing.
As Tyler got up to start working on the 2nd pancake, he placed his mug on the counter next to the sink. He listened as Faith seemed to have found her seat, and then claimed that she would like berries on her pancakes. This made Tyler crack a smile again, knowing that Faith just chose an option that she knew was accessible just to please him. It was nice to know she was so willing to comply with him for his happiness, but ultimately, he didn't care about his happiness. He wanted Faith to be able to grow and be happy, and he was ready to sacrifice anything to do so, even if it meant his life. He flipped the cake on the skilled, allowing the 2nd side to now cook through, as he turned to see Faith smiling at him. Her innocence was so inspiring and beautiful that a small blush escaped Tyler's complexion and he didn't even realize it. Letting loose an awkward chuckle, he turned his attention back to the cooking breakfast item. He gave it a moment to cook, before pulling off the skillet and putting it atop the other pancake that had recently finished cooking, allowing the heat to transfer between the two and keep them warm. Instead of putting another on the skillet, Tyler instead took the plate with the two cakes on it, and set it in front of Faith with a small tray of butter. Tyler then knelled down so he was eye to eye with Faith, as his right hand was atop her head gently, patting it...
"I want you to start thinking about you Faith, not me. I want you to do what makes you happy and think for yourself. I can't have you thinking for me Faith, I want you to be happy and smile more..."
Tyler then stood back up, and grabbed his coffee from the counter as he turned and leaned against the counter top and looked back at her, his glasses having a slight shine in them against the light of the outside beginning to enter through the kitchen window.
"Don't push yourself Faith. Do what makes you happy, and you can learn as fast or as slow as you want. Now eat up, I'm going to get changed..."
It was now time for Tyler to get dressed properly and even shower up. He proceeded to leave the kitchen, and head towards his room which was the only room on the first floor. the entire 2nd floor was for Faith, as Tyler believed that girls need their space, and it was more than enough space for Faith to take care of herself, and design her own living space based off what she wanted it to look like. Tyler never dares approach her room, unless she was in danger and needed his help, or she wished for him to go up, otherwise, he stayed away to allow her personal time, away from all the boy stuff that he includes. He took his coffee with him, sipping it as he entered his room and entered the small bathroom at the other end of his room. His room included a dresser for clothing, a twin sized bed, and a bathroom with the needs of any older male. The funny thing was, it was very messy. Clothes were left all over, and very unorganized, as a genius mind like Tyler had low sets of organizational skills. He placed his coffee mug on the top of his dresser as he entered the bathroom and turned the water on to allow it to warm up. He sat back on the toilet with a smile on his face, happy to know that Faith was eating, and she had such a sense of care within her. She really was growing up...
Faith sat in her chair and waited for Tyler to finish the pancakes he was cooking for her. She could smell their delicious aroma and couldn't wait to dig in. Her anxious feelings about their conversation were still there but they were muddled among her sudden hunger. She hadn't realised she was starving until she got a whiff of the scent. Tyler finished making them up as Faith sat there happily. Then, the plate swung in front of her and Tyler began to pat her on her head. He reallyw as the closest thing she had to a father figure. That's what she had always considered him to be really. Althoguh he does have the tendancies to act more like a brother. Faith usually decided to just call him family and be done with it there. That's what he was. Faith looked up at him and smiled.
"I'll try to think more... for my sake..."
She then looked down at her breakfast and lifted her fork, ready to dig right in. She somewhat didn't hear what Tyler said after that as her hunger was getting yhe better of her. She stabbed that pancake and lifted chunks out, biting into them and chewing happily. The berries were a different taste to her that she hadn't experienced before. It shocked her slightly, almost wanted to spit it out in fear. However she knew that if she just kept on chewing and tried her best to enjoy it, she would realise why they were so good. After a few seconds, she gulped down the first mouthful, then looked back down at her plate.
"Wha...wow.."
Faith quickly began attacking the rest of the pancake, positively overwhelmed by the taste. Tyler had been gone from the room for a little while now and Faith finished the last mouthful happily. She put her fork down and looked around herself, hoping that Tyler would come back soon. Then again, maybe she should do something herself on her own? Faith looked about again, then decided to get out of the chair and pick the plate up. The sink was nearby where Tyler often cleans up after them both. Maybe she could be useful. She put the plate in the sink and spun the tap to fill it with hot water. She wasn't sure just how much she needed and definitely had no idea how hot it had become. She put her hand in to reach for the plate, and to her surprise felt a sharp pain that rushed over her entire hand. She yanked her hand out fast, yelping at the shock and falling back into her chair.
"A-ah...it was too hot..."

"What do we do her-- Oops, my bad..." Alchemist Tyler "Ty" Bourgoine 人間の錬金術師
---------------------------------------
Tyler let the water run through his fingers as he tried to measure the temperature of the water. It wasn't too extreme, but he had to pay attention to it, as if it was too hot or cold, he could hurt himself or get sick. It was difficult with his damaged nerves and whatnot, but he was able to feel the sensations of heat and cold so all he had to do was get the slight feel of either sensation, and it would most likely be the correct temperature for his liking. As Tyler sat there measuring the water, he finally was able to feel the water reach a point of warmth where his finger tips were slightly heating up. He could also see the steam coming off the shower head and begin to fill the room. Tyler had all the signs needed to go ahead and take his shower. The only thing he hoped was that Faith was finishing her breakfast and not going near the fire right now...
Tyler stepped into the tub and stood there for a moment, enjoying the water beat upon him. He had a lot of time to focus upon the days past, and the days ahead. Not only that, but he had to think about the Alchemy he might have to look into in the future as well. How will Faith continue to develop, and are there any thing he's going to have to prepare her for in the future? Tyler didn't know what else to do, he's only 25, and still learning himself. Tyler never considered himself to be responsible or accountable enough to care for others, or even be able to care for dependents. If anything, he just wanted to spend his days performing Alchemy and exploring the world, trying to dodge the constant fights and debates between the living and dead, but he made a promise and he had to keep it. The only thing he didn't count on, was that her memories would be completely wiped and that she wouldn't know how to even care for herself. Either way, it's too late to go back now, Tyler was responsible for Faith, and he had to ensure her safety and development.
As Tyler focused in the shower, allowing the water to embrace him, but began to notice a change. Tyler wasn't feeling the slight warm sensation anymore, and the steam within the shower was no longer present. The temperature of the water was beginning to shift, and Tyler was becoming curious to it's cause. Not before long, the water suddenly became arctic cold, and the chilling sensation hit Tyler's skin like a freight train, and completely startled him. "Oh shit!" exclaimed Tyler as he jumped out of the shower in a sudden fashion. That was cold, and for a guy with damaged nerves, that water was so cold that he could actually feel it. Tyler grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his waist, and proceeded to walk into his room. How did the water get so cold? If anything, Tyler expected Faith to be eating, and if finished, then she would hopefully return to her room and get changes as he requested, Perhaps the water heater under the stairs was broken? Tyler wanted to investigate. Tyler left his room and walked over to the side of the stairs and opened the door to look inside and see the water heater. It was reading fine, and the pilot light was still on, so how did the water become so suddenly cold?
Tyler closed the door to the closet and looked inside the Kitchen to see Faith sitting in her seat holding her hand. Tyler didn't know what had happened, but he was curious, and then observed the water pouring from the sink, and the steam flowing from the sink head. It would seem that she turned the water on and burned herself on accident. A smile crept across Tyler's face as he approached Faith and gently took her hand to check the burn.
"What were you trying to do Faith? How did you hurt yourself?"
Tyler asked, as he knew something happened, due to the fair skin on her hand being burned. What was she trying to do? Was she trying to clean up after herself for once? If so, that would really surprise Tyler, as he would never expect Faith to really develop that far to start trying to be considerate to the both of them. Not only that, but she finished her entire meal! Damn, Faith is learning things actually faster than he expected, and it's great she is slowly starting to return to the way she was. Rubbing his eyes, Tyler stood back up and turned the knob on the sink over a bit to level out the temperature and cool it down. The water continued to pour into the sink, colliding with the plate, and should be a well enough temperature for her to rinse her plate now. Tyler just smiled at her, as he headed back to his room to finish cleaning himself up for the day ahead. She really was something else, when she tried...
Faith hadn't realised that the water pipes were all joined together and that it could influence the temperature of the shower and other facilities around the house. It is no surprise really as Faith was never supposed to do these things herself. She tried once and ended up breaking several plates and losing a lot of cutlery. Tyler would be the one to clean up after her but she wanted to at least try again. Faith heard from the other room that something was wrong as Tyler cursed in shock at the freezing water. Faith wasn't sure if she had done anything wrong and remained quiet, hoping it had nothing to do with her. Sadly, Tyler walked into the room again.
"..."
Tyler quickly glanced at Faiths hand and realised she must have hurt herself. Faith attempted to try and hide her hand in case it looked bad. Tyler would surely be mad if she had hurt herself too much. However he didn't seem angry at all. He solved all of Faiths problems and gave her a reason to smile. However she couldn't sustain it for long.
"I was bad again..."
Faith looked away. She wasn't pleased with herself and how she was just one big bundle of problems. Did she ever do anything right? She looked over to the now warm sink where she could clean without getting hurt but instead shook her head and hid her face in her scarf.
