New gun for Amy [finished]
Wed Feb 05, 2014 9:08 pm
Equipment
- Item Name: Variable Spirit Rifle Prototype
- Item Type: Rifle
- Used For: shooting things
- Item Description:
While previously Amy had moved away from spirit beam based weapons, she has now returned to them to create this prototype, the Variable Spirit Rifle Prototype. It is a spirit beam weapon that uses a single power pack known as the variable beam pack. The gun itself can produce ball like blasts of spirit energy equivalent to an arrancar's cero. These blasts range in power from the equivalent of a 3-5 arrancar with an adept in the cero skill all the way up to a 2-1 arrancar with an advance in the cero skill. However, the more powerful the blast, the more power must be drawn from the power pack and causes more heat to be produced. With a state of the art cooling and venting system, there should only be an issue with heat if one fires a blast at 100% power. If one did fire such a blast, it would take 2 posts to release all the heat from firing along with having a small chance to damage some of the more delicate components within the machine. At the best this would stop the gun from firing, at the worst it could cause the weapon to explode in the users hand, effectively releasing a blast of up 150% of the guns capabilities (or the equivalent of a cero from a 1-3 arrancar with a master in the cero skill) at the wielder. The other issue, being the draw of power from the power pack, is of more importance to anyone using this weaponry. The power pack contains a tiny version of the S.E.I.F.T. Electric generator along with an energy housing chamber which stores massive amounts of spiritual energy within. It can store up to the amount of power needed for a 100% shot from the rifle, after which it will need to replenish itself.
The weapon itself houses a spirit gathering device which is used to gather spirit energy in great quantities to refill power packs after each shot. The spirit energy gathered by this part of the gun then pushes it in to the energy housing chamber of the power pack, a computer in the device making sure that the chamber is not overfilled. However, the spirit gathering device can only gather up to 30% of the maximum the energy housing chamber can store per post. This means that one has to be careful about the number of blasts they fire, as even the weakest blast the gun can fire will consume 0.5% of the maximum charge. If one fires too many shots in a short span of time they can quickly deplete the power pack. From the housing chamber in the power pack, the spirit energy is then sent to a spirit compression chamber, which is filled after each shot. The spirit compression chamber sits directly behind the barrel of the gun, and is the main part of the weapon. It compresses the spiritual energy sent to it in to the ball, creating a stationary blast. The power of this blast is set by a slider on the side of the gun, allowing the wielder to increase or decrease the power of the blast. The compression chamber is also the cause of most of the heat generated, and it is surrounded by the main cooling system, which draws the heat away from the compression device and in to the venting system. Additionally, there is a secondary cooling system surrounding the barrel of the gun in order to draw any heat from the blast moving down the barrel away from it an over to the venting system. The barrel is a simple device based on the principles of the spirit-electron interface theory which draws the blast from the compression chamber, hurtling it out of the gun in much the same way a railgun would fire a metal object. In fact, this weapon can fire its blasts at about the same speed as a rudimentary railgun, allowing it to fire at extremely distant targets.
The venting system consists of two vents, the primary and secondary vents, which release hot air consisting of all the heat created by the blasts after each shot. The primary venting system sits behind the compression chamber, directly below a plate on top of the gun. After each shot, the cooling system brings the hot air in to a chamber directly below this plate. The built in computer recognizes the change in temperature within the air chamber and activates the venting system. The led light in the center of the rear knob turns an orange color to indicate the need to vent, and the plate pops up on hinges for a split second before being drawn down and locked in place. New air is then drawn in through the pipe below the barrel, cooled to extremely cold temperatures, before being sent to the cooling system. The venting of the main venting chamber may be repeated as often as necessary, before the light turns green again in order to indicate its readiness to fire. The secondary venting system is used for the cooling system which keeps the barrel cool, and is a simple plating over the barrel with holes in it. After each shot, the recoil causes the plating covering this area to be shoved back, allowing all the hot air to escape. This air is then replaced by cold air from the air intake system. - Obtained From: Amy made it
- Yen Price: dunno
- Notes: trying to get active with Amy so gonna give her a new gun and hopefully that will help.

A[[roved!
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
