Personality: Her personality is completely different when she is angry, upset, or another negative emotion as compared to when she is happy, excited, or another positive emotion. When negative emotions are dominant she is cruel, uncaring, and hateful. She honestly doesn't care what she has to do to obtain her goal, nothing matters to her but herself. When filled with positive emotions she is the complete opposite. Kind, caring, gentle, and loving, she can't help but want to protect and help those around her. The only thing that never changes about her is her obsessive love for her childhood lover, James.

Natural Abilities

Purification Weakness: Being a being of corrupted life force, purification is her greatest weakness. Even a weak amount of purification will damage her, and great amounts of it can even return her to her human self, though she will slowly return to her dead form. In such a case, she takes on her purified form, and can no longer return to her normal form for the remainder of the thread (see the next post for information on the purified form).

Soulless Being: Rose is a strange case in that she is living, but at the same time she does not have a soul. When she first managed to release the corruption energy magic she corrupted her soul to such an extent that it changed in to something else. Thus she also has no spiritual pressure or spirit energy, and therefore any ability to drain such energies fails to work on her.

Basic Magic:
Boundary Field of Distortion: This Boundary Field that creates an aura around the user that is like a calming wind. However, the wind contains a very powerful and dissonant energy that can burn or shock the opponent. Whenever an attack strikes the field, the damage is reflected. It only requires a calm mind, and normally an attack will disrupt the calm mind afterwards. The field stretches out in a 10-meter radius. Any attack done outside of that radius will be cancelled out but so will the field.

Aka Tate (赤盾 Lit: Red Shield): Aka Tate is a simple shield of light particles that dissipates energy attacks as it contacts the surface. It is not as strong as most shields and can only stand up to a lower Grand Rey Cero-level attacks.

Shimura's Blessing: Specialized healing magic is rare in the Sugiura magics, but Shimura's Blessing is the main one. Named after the proverbial founder of the Sugiuras, it channels the user's reiatsu into a white, gel-like substance that surrounds the target. The energy slowly flows into the target's body; thereby healing them. The healing takes longer than the Shinigami methods, but it has a more widespread effect.

Yuurei Gensou (幽霊幻想 Lit: Phantom Illusion): Despite the name, Yuurei Gensou has nothing to do with illusions. It creates a round pulsating seal in front of the user's palm, which then sends out a paralyzing ring of energy. If it hits and traps an enemy, the user can attack the circle, causing that damage to be transferred to the trapped opponent.

Energy Petals: This spell creates the flower-petal like design like Hana Moeru. It will either have sharp or exploding properties depending on the user. They are sent out like Hana Moeru as well. It is the standard way to attack without a Sacred.

Surudoi Hikaru (鋭い光 Lit: Piercing Light): Surudoi Hikaru sends out a single beam of light that is almost like a telescopic pole. The attack is meant to be accurate and not wide-spread.It requires high concentration and a good eye to be used to its fullest.

Bakudo 1 - Sai (塞, Restrain) - Locks a target's arms in place behind their back. - No incantation

Bakudo 4 - Hainawa (這縄, Crawling Rope) - An energy rope entangles the target's arms. - No incantation

Hadō 1 - Shō (衝, Thrust) - Pushes the target away from the caster. - No incantation

Hadō 3 - Piercing Shot - The user simply points a finger at the enemy then fires a small bullet shaped reiatsu projectile about the same size of a .44 bullet this reiatsu bullet then pierces the enemies flesh. It can also be fired multiple times in succession without an incantation, but the piercing power is greatly reduced for doing so. - Pierce their soul and tear their flesh.

Hadō 4 - Byakurai (白雷, Pale Lightning) - The user fires a concentrated, powerful lightning bolt from their finger. - No incantation

Magecraft Unleashed

Magecraft: Rose is the result of hundreds of generations of tireless research in to a specific type of magic, corruption magic. Corruption magic involves summoning and controlling Corruption energy, an energy that corrupts everything it touches. One of the most obvious uses of corruption energy is using it to corrupt someones life force, turning them in to one of the living dead.

Fog of Corruption: A bank of purplish fog surrounds her lower legs, filled with corruption energy. While this fog surrounds her her wounds will slowly regenerate from the corruption energy around her. In addition the fog will infect any living being that remains in it for two posts. This fog lasts for six posts and she has to wait two posts after to use it again.

Corruption Whip: Rose forms a long, thin whip from the corruption energy, holding it in her withered left hand. If this whip hits the skin of a living being is will insert the corruption energy in to them, slowly corrupting their life force. Someone who has their life force totally corrupted will have their body wither in to a dead form like Rose's current body. In addition, if they are exposed to enough of her corruption energy their soul will become corrupted to the point where it becomes another type of entity, an anti-soul. Because Rose's corruption energy caused this, in such a being Rose can stop the flow of their corrupted life force or control it, resulting in them either being paralyzed or doing what she wants. This whip lasts for 4 posts. (Note: I must have the owner of a character's permission before using this ability against them. It is mostly there for plot purposes, otherwise I feel it is too powerful, though if someone disagrees, let me know.)

Corruption Shield: Stretching her arm out, rose forms a circle of corruption energy in front of her, corrupting energy based attacks as they hit the disk. This allows her to change one attribute of the attack (only one). This can be any attribute, such as the vector of movement, causing the attack to shoot backwards, or the element of the attack, or the control over the energy, causing the attack to dissipate.

Past & Roleplay Sample

Character Background:

Rose Cathas was born in to a wealthy, influential family of magi who had a deep dark secret. They were practicing the darkest magic one could think of, the magic of corruption. Being the only child of her family, and her parents had no plans for having another one, they taught Rose their magic, starting at the age of three. By the time she was five her parents let her go wherever she wanted alone, as they felt she knew enough magic that no normal human could hurt her.

When she was six, she met the love of her life. Walking through the slums of the city on her way to the market, she saw some thugs standing over three bodies in an alleyway. Two of them, clearly older then the last were surely dead, but the last, a young child about her age was still living. One of the thugs slammed his fist in to the child and Rose had had enough. She yelled at the thugs from the street, and the thugs, attracted by her voice, ran after her. It only took her a few seconds to take care of the thugs in another alley, she had done it elsewhere as to not scare the young boy. Running back to the alleyway, her eyes widened in horror, in his condition the kid would not make it out here. With both her hands she lifted him up, using her magic to give her the needed strength. and ran back to the mansion where she lived.

Putting him in the spare room she nursed him back to health up until she was sure he would live without it. Then, she went and begged her parents to let him stay and eventually they gave in. Returning to the spare room she continued to nurse him for the next half an hour until her woke up. When he tried to stand up Rose quickly moved to catch him, and with the help of her father, moved him back in to bed. Her father forgot his book as he left, and Rose, tired from all the excitement and taking care of him, walked off to bed. Her tiredness caused her to forget to do something very important before she slept, she forgot to seal away the corruption energy in her body.

Waking up the next day she could tell what was happening to her. The corruption was eating away at her life force, though luckily she hadn't fully developed it, and this had saved her from already being on her death bed. Leaning against the wall due to lack of energy, she slowly walked towards the spare room, and she found the boy she had saved in bed reading her father's book. He looked up, and when he asked what was wrong she just shook her head. She couldn't tell him what was going on, her father had forbidden her from telling anyone about the family magic. This boy was extremely smart though, and he created an antidote for her without little knowledge of the situation.

When her father heard about this he was very impressed, and had him apprenticed to a very well known doctor. In exchange he gave the young boy, who they now knew was called James, the one thing he requested, to be able to be friends with Rose. Their friendship strengthened as the years passed, and when James was 13 they both had their first kiss with each other, and became lovers. A year and a bit after that kiss, the horrors appeared. Three hollows appeared as her family and James were out in the garden, the first one attacking her. As the mouth closed around her her magic burst forth, surrounding her in the corruption. She now had no soul, as her body had been completely corrupted by her magic, turning her in to one of the undead.

For hundreds of years she remained within the hollow's stomach, practicing her skills with her magic and pushing it beyond what anyone else had ever discovered. The only thing that sustained her will within the hollow was her love for James, and she had sworn to find him again. Eventually, three hundred and fifty seven years later, when the hollow decided to return to earth, Rose killed it from the inside using her magic.

The world she returned to was a vastly different place, but she picked up on things quickly. After spending some time searching for answers, she discovered some information about James. James was supposedly in karakura town, and he had married another woman. Anger boiled up within Rose, filling her to the brim. She swore to make James return to her, and with that left london, where she had been staying, now on her way to karakura town.

The Purified Form

What is the purified form: If enough purification energy is used against Rose she will actually return temporarily to her human self instead of being harmed by it. the purified form is the human form she returns to in this temporary state. While in her purified form she cannot use any of her corruption energy based abilities, as no corruption energy exists within her body. Once Rose is in her purified form in a thread she remains in her purified form for the remainder of the thread.

Alright, finally finished up the corruption abilities I was giving her. If you feel I need to add something either the purified form or her app in general, let me know.

Well, I'm going to start off with answering about the form. When Rose initially released her magic, her body and soul were corrupted to an extreme degree. However, purification energy can return her to how she used to be. The human form is just the changes she undergoes when exposed to large amounts of purification energy. So I guess on short, a side effect of her magic was that she corrupted herself past the point of being human, and the human form is what happens should these effects be reversed by purification energy.

As for the origin, I was going for corruption, though I could loosely go with the origin being change perhaps.
