Name of the Race: Alfar Vanir Also know as Modern Light Fae
Summary: Basically, Elves+Faeries+whateverelse to make things interesting. Based off humans and stuff. rawr.
How long have they existed?: A very long time ago, theorized to be about a million if not more. This is only from minor evidence and records kept in the mind of the fae over their generations.
Sub Race of: Humans
Secondary Sub Race: Fae
How to become one: Humans can become an Alfar Vanir pretty easily; either they mate with one, allowing their mate to douse them with enough energy to confirm the turning. In another case, they could preform a teacher-student bond with a particularly strong Alfar Vanir, allowing them to turn when they succeed their Initiation task. As a note, they can use the human skill sheet as well.
Associated Organisation: Their own Faerie Court, but otherwise may choose where to go.
Orientations: The Alfar Vanir will take kindly to any human and human based races. They particularly detest Demons, having a long history with a distant cousin, the Youkai. They also hate Hollows, Arrancar, and hold predjudice towards the Shinigami and Vizard. They seem to be neutral towards the Iramasha, but most hold Disdain towards these beings, and are also generally neutral to all Sugiura, due to a light contact with one another.
Aesthetics: The Alfar Vanir are said to be strikingly beautiful; their beauty is eye catching, and often feels much more present then a human, but not in a sensual matter like the Sueki. In fact, an Alfar Vanir is like a beautiful piece of art; one can stare endlessly but not necessarily seek it. They also have a slender body, and almost all have long pointed ears. In fact, the Alfar Vanir ressemble Fantasy Elves, and some even hold Faerie characteristics. All of them have a human base form, though there are cases that only have a humanoid form.
Additional Information: One thing to know about the Alfar Vanir; they are extremely prideful. If they feel they have been slighted, or insulted, they will attack. They also value their own people over any other alliances; and within that, they value their own families over their people. The Alfar Vanir are powerful, and wise; however they are just as human in nature. Also, a bit on Alfar Vanir genetics; the Alfar Vanir genetics do not overwhelm, or over-take any other present genetics in the human's body. This allows Alfar Vanir hybrids to exist. However, the Alfar Vanir traits will not be as powerful with other hybrids then if it was a sub-human hybrid. For example, if one was a were-beast before becoming an Alfar Vanir? The were-beast and human traits would carry over and work along side the Alfar Vanir traits. However, there are some sacrifices; in most cases, either the Alfar Vanir or the other traits become regressive, only activating under certain circumstances. On the case of non-human races, such as a human/iramasha hybrid, the Alfar Vanir will only work if no powers of the non-human race are active in any capacity.
Additional Racial Powers: The Alfar Vanir gain the use of various things; passive bonds to nature and the deeper elements of magic, however, they lose the use of Reishi and Chi. It is not uncommon for users to have Anima stones, although they have no access to Soul Evolution. Actually, Soul Evolution mutates with the Alfar Vanir genetics, and thus they obtain something far greater ; the Aesir Shifts. What this means, simply, is that Soul Evolution takes a whole new path for the Alfar Vanir; and could even be more powerful they Soul Evolution.
- Bond of Elements: All Alfar Vanir are associated with elements. Due to their myriad of types, they are not as a race, associated to a single element. However, in general, the race of the Alfar Vanir will touch to them on their race; for example, so called Elves would have in general, a more association to magic where as a Dwarf would be tied to steel and earth. Each race is different and many have choices. The bond to that element allows them to communicate with any creature that falls under it's dominion; for example, Elves could speak to nature itself, along with enchanted or legendary creatures, and Dwarves could be to underground animals like moles, or such things.
- Harmony of Nature: All Alfar Vanir are attuned to nature in itself; much like their were-cousins. They gain passively more capability within nature based environments then cities. As such, fighting an Alfar Vanir in the forest is much harder then fighting them within a building. The stronger this ability is, the more the Alfar Vanir could do; their adaptibility could be from simply being able to not make a sound, into communicating with the animals to preform a large attack in itself. Those extremely attuned will be able to speak with the very earth itself.
- The Mists: All Alfar Vanir have a special mode of transportation; this realm is called ''The Mist.'' Why? Because it is a realm that connects all Alfar Vanir to time, space and dimensions. In essence, the Mist allows an Alfar Vanir to be any time, and any place. Now, this is definitely dangerous; as those that wander too far in the Mist may never come out, or could actually end up in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Only those that have Royal Blood in their veins may be able to use The Mist to go through time; otherwise, normal Alfar Vanir tend to lose themselves and become nothing more then a Preta Youkai. The Mist holds great power into which no one can tap; it is the seams of Existence, to be fair, on the borders of reality and imagination. This is for grand modes of transportation; in battle, the Alfar Vanir can use this something similar to a Shunpo, and yet not. It allows the Alfar Vanir to dissipate, and then gather their energy in another location in mere seconds, if not less. But this takes a large amount of control, and thus, most just use The Mist as a gateway.
- Energos: Alfar Vanir are much more sensitive to different types of energy then many other races. They can easily sense energies, and basically can work as extremely advanced sensors. In fact? They are probably the best to do so, since they can get a load of information off waves of energy, like some can do with radiowaves or what not. In a sense, people are radio programs, their energy are the waves, and the Alfar Vanir are the receptors. This makes them, in essence, almost impossible to trick with just surpressing one's energy. But in a bigger sense, they are gifted at telling whom is what. Those that are extremely gifted can turn this off if needed.
- Wisdom of the Ages: The Alfar Vanir are long-lived. They have a recorded history of over several thousand years, and even stories from times above that. They are not any slouches, and often have observers in every community, trying to understand humans and others as the Fae had done for a long time. They hold a many knowledge together, and have a great sense of figuring things out. And some of the Alfar Vanir are positively ancient in themselves; this makes the race in itself a bit higher on the intelligence scale then the average human. In fact, many Alfar Vanir that have merged in the human race are known as great minds, such as scientists or famous artists. But an Alfar Vanir will seek knowledge, to increase their race's records. This is possible via a mind link to a giant hive, that gathers and collects information only. That means what one Alfar Vanir learns and stores it withing the Mind? Another can withdraw and learn as well, making the race capable of learning various things from one another.
- The Gifts of Magic: The Alfar Vanir, being all humanoid type of Fae, are incredibly diverse. They all hold some magic within them, due to a bond with elements, however, this all produces itself in different ways. -- This is basically the ability where one would inscribe the bonuses of their Alfar Vanir sub-type; Elves will be speedy, have good eyes and an affinity for magic. Dwarves will be stronger then a human, and have much higher endurance; and other such things. Keep in mind this is assumed on Fantasy stereotypes. If you need help contact Aivee. Additional Racial Forms: The Aesir Shift are forms that were produced for the Alfar Vanir due to their sub-race genetics. These shfits, per say, are mostly them tapping further into their Alfar Vanir genetics and releasing them. All Alfar Vanir are typically human when you first see them; however, the more into their Aesir Shift they become, the more Fae they appear.
- Aesir Shift Vanir -- This is the first shift. It is the first stage and holds a power equivalent to Shikai. This shift begins to let the user have their Alfar Vanir's race characteristics; so those that are Elven will begin to have longer ears, those that are Dwarfes will shrink, so on and so forth. It also greatly strengthens their racial skills, some even able to form variants of them at this point. However, it gives the user a large amount of power, and thus unables them to even stand up to par with Captains and other strong fighters with this form. This is the most common shift and the extent of most Alfar Vanir.
- Aesir Shift Alfar -- This is the second shift. It is the stage equivalent to a bankai in strength. At this point, the Alfar Vanir is definitely no longer purely human, and have a great amount of their race's power at their disposal. This is one of the harder shifts and thus it is heavily restricted in use by the Royal Family. This form places a strain on the user unless they are of Royal blood, because it was never meant to be used by anyone but those that were meant to protect the Alfar Vanir. But this form allows the user to use their traits even more efficiently and for all intents and purposes, become that race other then just a human with some influences.
- Aesir Shift Fae -- This is the third and final shift and is locked to everyone but the Rulers of the Faerie Court and those they have allowed. This allows the Alfar Vanir to unlock all of their potential, and thus transcend human existence to something inhuman; in this shift they could almost be considered Old Fae. Their powers become to the level of Mythos and they may very well change the world with these powers. Even the Rulers of the Court rarely engage this form due to how much energy and power it releases; they prefer to keep that to nature itself. In essence, this form is about the strength of a Sugiura's Kyuu Kyou, thus accenting the ressemblance. However, this form is extremely draining, and often requires bed rest when unactivated.
Race History: The Fae; an old race, a race of legends. They were everything that humans were not; wise, beautiful, extremely ugly, magical in nature and even more so, they were humanoid or inhuman. They were a strong, powerful race, divided between Light Fae and Dark Fae. However, that was easily shattered, as the humans began war; and as other creatures began to make themselves known. As such? The might Fae broke to pieces,and became Olden Fae; from them, spawned many kinds. All monsters, all creatures of myth and legend, were born from the root of Fae.
Now? There are two major sides in opposition, like Light and Dark Fae were long ago; they were the children of the Olden Fae. The Alfar Vanir and the Youkai have stood against each other for a long time; always seeking to become better then the other. The Alfar Vanir were humanoid; beautiful, strong and wise, they sought the betterment of the world and helped all those that they could. The Youkai were the opposite; they sought to trick, and were selfish in nature, trying to improve themselves, and were most of all, inhuman, monsters, that could take human form. This small war in between the two would often spark things that made others feel ashamed, such as with the case with Inanna.
The Alfar Vanir, however, rejected technology for the most part; they did not wish to pollute the world. But they hold much love for their cute human brethen, and as the Fae blood became thin, they found a way to sustain themselves; by mating with humans, and pouring their magical energy within them, and the child? They could obtain more Alfar Vanir. And as such, they found that their race would not survive without them; as many humans have hidden Fae potential. This potential can be awaked by the Alfar Vanir, they found; and as such, they began searching for their next ruler, and found her. Sylzaisalumil Ola'Lysivanna was a simple human when they found her wandering after the loss of her parents, holding the hand of her twin sister. But she had enough Fae potential to become someone great; and thus, both were taken in, and awakened as Alfar Vanir. And from then on? Life was good for them, as they amassed more and more wisdom.
Or it would be, if the Queen would stop trying to vanish.
Why Should we add/play this race?: As we expand mythology wise, I was thinking of a global way to include things like trolls, gnomes, dwarves, elves in a way that wouldn't impair races. Although my initial thought was just chuck it to the Sugiura, I thought that making a sub-race and a culture out of the Fae would make things interesting. Also, the interaction between Fae and Youkai possible will make things fun~

M'kay, I'mma put the final nail in this coffin and go ahead and give this my approval. As such, I'll be moving this little thing into approved sub-races and you have grounds to start making these sorts of characters to add into the site.
