Carter's battle (solo training)

Word had come that a demon would be in the area and he would bring some friends along with him. Carter grimaced at the idea of what would happen as he ran along the trail. He got a tip from an unknown source. He was the only Shinigami in the area and he felt inclined to answer the call. The demon went by the title of Sorrow. He wasn’t known as powerful but then again Carter wasn’t either. The big dogs had decided this demon would be a waste of their time. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts Carter rounded a boulder and stopped in his tracks. He gasped in horror as he saw the town in the valley below burn. He could see people writhing in the fires, masses on the ground, and hollows trashing the small town. It was only a total of five hollows but Carter felt something else there, something that had just a little more strength than he did. His left hand went to Nacuto and he could feel her fear for him. “Make sure I don’t die then.” He whispered out loud as he began to sprint forward again. He pushed himself as he drew his Zanpakutō and entered through the burnt out town gates. It was a tiny little hamlet in the mountains, way out of touch with the current times. A cold chill crept up his back as he realized just how alone he was and how his power didn’t add up to his soon to be enemy’s.

He walked forward quietly as a hollow crashed through a building, a woman running in fear from it. The woman ran past him as he rolled his shoulders and looked at the beast. It towered over him, its shoulder wide and thick like a tree’s trunk. Its chest like an enlarged barrel, it walked like a gorilla, its arms forward as its knuckles dug into the sod. Its back legs short yet muscular. The skin appeared a dulled gray with red lines; the hole in its chest showing the back ground behind it. The mask of the hollow shifted slightly as its single yellow eye looked at Carter, its wide mouth opened as a cero built in its maw.
Carter’s eyes gleamed as the cero flew towards him as Nacuto lashed outward in his left hand, splitting the ball of energy in half, the halves dying in the ground with a shower of dirt. Not waiting for the bastard to reload Carter flashed forward, His hand firmly laced around Nacuto as he aimed to bring her upwards through the hollow’s skull. The blade bit deep into its chin but stopped here. The hollow chuckled as its beastly hand wrapped around Carter’s waist and flung him into a building nearby. Carter smiled darkly as he kicked a wooden plank outward and stood up, dust falling from his shoulders and hair. He pointed Nacuto outward and winked at the hollow, not speaking. He was taunting it to come forward. It fell for his taunt as it sprinted forward; its arms out wide and its mouth open angrily. Carter winced as he flashed forward, his sword arm buried in the hollow’s mouth, his Zanpakutō stabbing through the roof of the monsters mouth. He closed his eyes expecting it to cleave his arm off with a swift bite but it never came. The beast fell backwards in its death throes as Carter landed on its chest wiping sweat from his brow.

The Demon stood in the midst of the onslaught, his arms crossed over his chest as his spiked hair flung in the air. His eyes taking in all the carnage, he was pissed. His orders were to kill off this village and he was never given any reason, he was told to leave no one alive. This is why he had hollows with him; the brutes would kill what he refused too. Smoke rolled freely as the beasts rampaged. He smirked as he caught wind of one energy source running towards the village. It wasn’t that strong but it would be able to kill all of the hollows and give him a real fight. He walked forward, his wooden sandals crunching over charred bones and broken glass.
Smiling he noted how the strongest of the hollows energy snuffed out. Meaning one thing, it had died by the boy’s blade and this boy was not someone to laugh at. He smiled as his hands clapped, this being the sign for the remaining hollows to rally. He stood quietly with his hands behind his back as the small runt’s materialized out of thin air. They were odd looking little freaks, all of them having the same build and same mask. It was as if the soul they came from split. The demon smiled as he had known the soul in the human world, it had been his most insane of mentors. The man having multiple personalities, it was fitting that they were all embodied now. They were all the same minus their masks, one was the face of a smiling oni, the second an angered oni, and finally the third a sleeping oni. His left hand came outward as the shinigami appeared, he pointed forward as the hollow’s heads all swiveled at once toward where he was pointing. They all smacked the ground with glee, like an ape would when excited, as the spotted the real meal. It smiled as they all took off in a hell bent dash, their arms flinging behind them as they all bent forward. They all opened their mouths at once as energy built up in said mouths. Three ceros shot out at the shinigami at once. The demon wanted to see how the boy fought so he could kill him swiftly when they fought.

Carter’s eyes narrowed as the three hollows ran towards him in a bum rush. Nacuto in his left hand as he looked at the hollows, the angered oni masked one appeared to be the one that would reach him first. He needed to take the hollow out quickly or he’d be out numbered, his mind also wondering why the demon hung back. He flashed back to the hollows as three energy spikes lit up o his grid, three ceros flying towards him. He frowned as he bent down low, the first cero flying over his back harmlessly, Nacuto coming out and biting into the second, cleaving it in half, the last catching him in his left arm. Danger registered as he dropped Nacuto and his sword arm went limp, he quickly grabbed his Zanpakutō with his right hand as she spoke to him, now isn’t the time for courage, you need to escape since your sword arm is out. Don’t be a fool. He ignored Nacuto, she had a habit of being wrong sometimes and him being a fool. He couldn’t abandon this town, even if most of the people were dead. His eyes narrowed as the first hollow came at him, leaping up in the air to bring a power attack down on Carter. Smiling he realized this bum arm could work in his favor, they thought he was out for the count since his arm was shot and the first hollow left itself too exposed as it descended toward Carter. All he did was lift Nacuto up with speed, forcing the hollow to impale itself upon his blade. It made a sickening gargling noise as it died, its putrid breath filling Carter’s nostrils. He wasted no time shoving the hollow off of Nacuto as it began to vanish, looking back up he groaned at the sight of the two hollows leaping at him, he wouldn’t be able to dodge this attack.

His mind shut out all outside influences as he thought solely of how to dispatch the two hollows in one move. It would require a bit of strength as he noticed the only move that would take them both down in one swipe. He grunted as the two hollow's came lvel with each other in the air, them being the same size. He waited for the moment, spotting it he swung out wiht his right hand, nacuto flashing in the fire light in the backroun as the sword cut through the neck of the first hollow, dropping it dead at his feet and biting into the second ones shoulder. His timing had been a little off. He curse dhimself as he pivoted to the right as the hollow landed where he had been. It spun and stabbed its clawed left hand straight outward to spear Carter, he twisted Nacuto around so the flat of the blade took in the stab and diverted the hand from its course. Twisting his had again the blade edge was set against the skin as he pulled upward with force, slicing the hand in half down the middle.
The hollow screaming in agony, the noise like a bear mixed with a pig squeel, it being quite frightening. This Hollow being the one with with the smiling oni mask. He could feel that it wasn't as happy as it let on, it was enraged and it smashed at Carter with its unharmed hand. He smiled knowing thta it had given into its anger and wasn't thinking clearly. He stabbed Nacuto straight outward as the beast speared its own hand on the blade. Carter smiling as a Kidō built up on the tip of Nacuto, the blade only a few inches from the hollow's face. The energy went off, blowing the beast's jaw clean off and dropping it dead. He smiled as he pulled Nacuto free and turned to face the demon.

The demon nodded coldly to Carter, this shinigami had taken out all four of the hollows. The large one with little to no damage, his sword arm had gone limp from a cero and he simply switched hands and fought the three as if they were nothing. still though the demon could feel the power gap and knew himself to be the stronger of the two. He smiled as he pulled out his gem blade, it had been bought through a trade, his body filling with energy from the blade, usually it was a dulled black color but now it was glowing with the blood it had feasted upon in the village. It fueled its master and gave him the strength he would need to gain an even greater edge.

The ground shattered behind it as it vanished and reappeared right in front of Carter, the gem blade arching downward to split Carter's skull in two. Carter's eyes went wide at the sheer speed that the demon possessed and merely had time to bring Nacuto up to stop the blow, the red blade glancing off of Nacuto and digging into Carter's right shoulder blade shallowly.

Reacting quickly and not allowing the shinigami to attack the demon pressed on. His face split into a devlish grin as the blood lust over took him and he sent a headbutt towards Carter and pulled his blade out of the gash he had left upon the male, he backed up and foot and kicked forward, his blade still pointing straight forward, aiming to spear Carter's chest.

Carter gritted his teeth as blood exploded from his nose, his vision blurred for a moment under the pain, his sight coming back in time just for him to pivot the chest stab and bring his elbow downward on the back of the demon's head as his momentum carried him past Carter.

The demon felt the blow to the base of his skull as he jerked forward and spun around. His body blocking the pain as he smiled more and his eyes glistened. His right foot coming out to blast into Carter's left knee cap and cripple him, after the kick he would land his foot inbetween Carter's two legs as he brought his blade up to catch Carter in the armpit and bleed him out.

Carter's eyes narrowed as blood ran from his shoulder and his nose, he knew this demon was fighting with the style of a skilled swordsman and the survival of a street brawler. He was a deadly animal, Carter brought Nacuto straight downward to spear the incoming foot as he shied forward out of the way of the incoming blade, bringing himself now closer to the demon as he returned the headbutt from before.

The demon winced as the Zanpakutō dug into its foot and his blade caught the air, he didn't even flinch as the shinigami broke his nose as he had broke the shinigami's. This kid had spirit in him, the demon could admit that but did he have the body to hold up to a real beating? He smiled once more as he stood still with his arms out and rorared, his spirit pressure cracking the ground as rocks floated in the air slightly. The pressure itself enough to knock Carter backwards a few meters.

Carter fell back on his ass losing Nacuto as was left stabbed into the demon's foot. His turn to smile came as he yelled, "THOUSAND BLADE RAIN!" as soon as he finished saying rain Nacuto vanished form the demons foot and a dull grey blade took its place, it sapping the speed of the demon and fatiguing it as Carter got up and flashed stepped forward, bare handed. His right hand gripping at the air as he flashed right above the demon nd stabbed downward, another grey blade spearing into it, slowing it more, tiring it. Carter landed behind him knowing that the third blade would be the one that immobilized the demon.

The demon roared in anger as he was poked twice with two different blades, his body slowing and feeling quite tired. He turned and sprinted at Carter, his gem blade stabbing outward at Carter's chest once more.

Carter's eyes burned as he grabbed at the air with his right hand and a sword appeared, it being shattered by the incoming gem blade. Scared he twitched his left hand and felt a blade's hilt appear in it. He willed his ruined arm forward to stab the demon.

Pain exploded in Carter's eyes as he was run through by the demon's sword, it barely missing vital organs. The demon blinked as it felt its body go immobile, a sword barely stabbed into its rib cage from Carter's left hand.

Carter chuckled dryly as blood flowed rom his mouth a bit, he steeled himself as he stepped backwards and the sword he held stayed in the demons flesh. The pain soared as he pulled himself off of the demon's blade. Nacuto appearing back in his hand as he looked at the demon with sadness, "I am Carter, shinigami, weilder of Nacuto, and I am your end!" He yelled as he cleaved through the demons neck, presuming it dead as he stumbled away.
