Practing in the shadows (solo training)

Sorrow knelt in the bamboo grove where he had inflicted self torture upon himself, today he would begin a new training. He cleared his throat and closed his eyes focusing on his demonic energies as he spoke a simple incantation. "In the name of Zoa Koa, I beseech thee to grant me spell in the name of the dark god open this portal of darkness. I want to be alone let no one accept my just damnation...Release the gates and Open the Abyss." Once finished he'd feel a slight tug on his energy as a portal cut a hole in the air before him, opening his eyes he watched as the portal grew, the portal becoming stable as he stood and walked forward. He stuck his hand through and instantly felt it smash downwards, the gravity in this altered dimension he had summoned was greater than his current plane of existence. Smiling he slid in and fell to his knees once more. His smile vanishing as his mind focused, his training was back on. He looked at the ground as he put his hands to it, palms downward and ready to push up.

His arms strained as he pushed upward, his frame coming up slightly as he managed to get his feet under him, also pushing up. The muscles stood out on his arms and calves as he kept pushing upward. He smirked a bit as he managed to get into a crouching position, holding his head up was even a task. His eye lids eve wanted to fall down over his eyes. Shaking his head he forced his back straight as his body shook a little from the strain, sweat already building on his forehead. It stung his eyes as the second it formed it dripped downward. His smirked vanished again as he tried to step forward with his right leg, his leg not wanting to budge at all. He gritted his teeth as his muscles flexed and he managed to lift his foot off of the ground a few inches, it took all his effort to keep it airborne as he moved it forward, it slamming into the ground and jarring his joints. His sole thought being that you gotta walk before you can run. He closed his eyes and focused on moving his other leg forward, now knowing how much force was needed.

Soon he was wiping sweat from his eyes as he looked back to the portal, twenty minutes had lapsed and he had managed to move only one hundred feet. sighing he put his head forward as his mind dug into the task before him. He was here to get faster. He pushed off of the ground with more force and tried slamming his foot down to start a jog, pushing off of the ground proved his mistake as he fell flat on his face. Groaning he pushed himself back up and forced his body to stand straight, nodding he tried to move forward again, only to end up on his face once more. This process repeated for hours as he became drenched in sweat. Finally though there was a break through and he managed to get his foot out and to push off the ground, he flew through the air for a split second, moving maybe half a foot as he came down on his other foot and brought his first back around, he was off and jogging finally. Each time his foot hit the ground his whole body shook violently, like he was falling from a far distance. Each movement jarring his bones.

He silently counted every footstep as he moved, he counted out half a mile from his starting point then he turned around, his body aching and his chest heaving. His shoulders drooped as well as his arms hanging down to his sides uselessly, his head sagging as well. His energy was waning and fast but he new he was only half way done, the game wasn't yet over and he hadn't won. His mind closed off as he forced his body on, everything moving like it should but the force almost too much to bear. each step taking more from him, him only moving at half of his real speed. He was jogging at the pace one would walk through a store. He endured it though as he forced his legs to move, trying to give energy to himself from deep with in to sustain. If he didn't make it to the portal he'd get himself stuck under the gravity's force in this realm forever. Shaking his head sweat went flying every which way. He cleared the sweat from his eyes as he looked at the portal, only a couple meters away now. Groaning he pushed his body harder, trying to sprint ahead, each footstep feeling like a bone was breaking. He yelled in frustration as he sprinted through the portal and fell flat on his face on the cool grass in the bamboo grove. He laid there while his chest heaved, trying to take in air.
