A Christmas Miracle for a Mother
Tue Dec 25, 2012 6:50 pm
Hanako Shikijou Junior Super Powered 5-5 |
Tis the season to be jolly and yet as a season for family and giving, Hanako was prepared like a good little girl as she sets aside her training with Shadin and Snopy to enjoy the holiday. They would understand that a mother will have to be there for her children, even if their father was missing. It was sixty years since she last seen her kids and all awhile was only a day that the kids has seen her. It was good that the guild left them with Kabuto, their caretaker for when Hanako is busy with training and the days are colored with each visit that Hanako made to the kids. To see their grateful faces warms her heart as Christmas arrives this morning. In the cold morning, Hanako wakes up alone on her warm, comfy bed. She prepared her mind to put aside her loss that is her mate, Koichi Iramasha. She has her children now and that is what matters more than a figment of worry and temporary abandonment. With her elbows, she pushes herself up onto her side as her right arm supports her from below. Her eyes are exhausted and blank as the sand was invisibly blocking her sight and begging her to go back to sleep. She breathes slowly to regain her energy despite the minor leaks of energy through her clean pores. The left lace that was helping the right in keeping her teal nightgown up was swaying off to the side of her left arm as her bedhead hair was faint in tangibility, but provides an unusual texture. With a faint groan, Hanako seeks out her alarm clock that was only a black box beside two black boxes that are her books given to her by her father on her birthday. The alarm clock has not ring and has not peep this morning when Hanako usually has it on for her training hours with Shadin and Snopy. This time, it was off on purpose because Hanako should not be expecting Shadin to be yelling at her through the phone he hacked into. When she found the clock, Hanako rubs the nagging sands out of her eyes and the vision becomes clear; it is morning and Hanako slept like a baby this night instead of waking up in the middle of the night with a subtle yet still tangible nightmare about the Osaka Massacre. Each ending of that dream involves the silhouetted man burrowing his sword into her small, childish body of a ten year old. Each time that nightmare happened, Hanako asks herself, "Why is it keep happening? Is it a vision or something? I was meant to die by his sword somehow?" Despite the peaceful night, Hanako instinctively still ask these questions to herself. The time to answer that is not yet to come as this is Christmas morning and her babies are still awaiting her to wake them and welcome them to the Christmas holiday. Hanako tugs the blanket off of her legs and twists so her feet are barely touching the ground. After lifting herself upright and with a light, graceful push, she braves the cold, wooden floor. From off to the distance passing through two walls, Hanako can hear giggling of her five children. "Up already? Must been so excited about Christmas. Can't blame them for having their second Christmas." Hanako comments quietly to no one other than herself. She reaches off to the right and ahead of her, where a coat post stands with her long, flowing winter kimono that is usually worn by nobles in terms of style. After the preparations of her appearance, she walks out of her room and into the children's room. The giggling was filling the room as Hanako tracks the sound slightly higher than where her kids would be. To her quiet surprise, she notices all five of her children are flying around the top ornament of the Christmas tree without any supports. "Well. Seems like intellect runs in the family after all. I know flying for joy is a figurative speech, but they took it literally." Hanako thinks quietly to herself while smiling at the sight of her kids having a good time. "I guess it time for presents, kids!" Hanako calls out to her kids and they all rush down and land on her like dive bombers. Hanako is strong enough to catch them and only shifts back to regain her balance and make it a softer landing for the kids. As the kids look at the presents, they look around as if they cannot find their own presents. Hanako looks at them with anticipation that they would like what she bought for them this year. However, one question stands among them... "Where's Papa's presents? Where's Papa?" One of the kids asks their mother. Hanako frowns, knowing that last Christmas, Koichi puts a lot of time away from his duties with family to be with her and her kids. However, this time, Koichi was more absent than Hanako would feel at ease about. The kids picked out trinkets while Hanako handcrafted a sweater because she honestly did not think of anything to give to Koichi since he does not need anything other than her and family. However, Koichi was not here. He was absent for nearly a year, but to Hanako, he was absent for sixty-one years. Even though her age was accelerated due to the training in the Soul River, Hanako has a hard time swallowing the fact that Koichi was never by her side this year around. What could have held him away from her? "I don't know, Alice. He will come back soon. Ah--Here they are." Hanako tries to answer without worrying the kids while she also tries to distract them by pointing out the one present where it was wrapped in royal red and white trims with a golden bow; it is the same present that Hanako and the kids wrapped together. The kids cheer that they found their father's present that they worked hard to gather and put together in a wrapped package with the sweater that their mother made. Hanako honestly was distracting herself as she smiles by trying to keep her kids happy so that she can feel happy, even though she missed Koichi dearly. "So this is how Shadin felt when he does not have Midori around. A loneliness within a circle of love." Hanako thinks to herself, contemplating her feelings by comparing it to others who may have the same experience. Posted! |
