Being a Redwood, Miccah has that dark red hair that they are famous for and even the piercing blue eyes that seem to pierce through the soul of his adversaries or warm the hearts of his greatest friends. Miccah can normally be found in his normal street attire. A long flowing tan trench coat with symbols on it representing the dark order he is a part of, this is his favorite article of clothing as it hides his true body type underneath, also this trench coat has a mouth guard as well that covers the lower part of his face. Underneath the trench coat usually lies a skin tight gray shirt with several different strap on it that connect to the brown pants beneath. The brown pants are normal looking and have lighter brown belts wrapped around the left leg of the pants and holds no real relevance to the clothes at all. Also he is usually wearing a pair of black shoes that seem old and warn out. Hidden underneath his trench coat is a sword that was given to him by his father as a gift at birth for when he would become a man. All in all Miccah's fashion sense is basic, he likes clothes that don't show off his muscular physique and make him look a bit mysterious, with the clothes he wears he easily achieves both.

In combat his clothes change drastically from what they once were. As Miccah enters a fight both of his hands ignite into black flame and form the two red arm guards, one arm guard has spikes near the shoulder while the other one ends at the elbow joint and is not a full arm guard as it has openings for the fingers. Miccah uses the hand without a full arm guard to usually attack while he uses the one with a full guard for defense. The black flame also tatters his trench coat revealing the skin tight gray shirt underneath and the belts and straps. In combat Miccah gives up on hiding his physique and reveals his toned body and even the mouth guard seems to go down as it reveals his smooth skin that is without blemishes on his face. He usually does not smile while in combat and keeps a calm look on his face even when he is not fighing. Miccah's body type is above average, as he is constantly training because he was raised to do that, and he stands at about six foot seven. All in all, Miccah looks intimidating, due to his size, but he is really a nice man who has been raised the wrong way.


Background:

The Birth of a Redwood (Ages 0-4):

At one time or another at an undisclosed location at an undisclosed time, Miccah Redwood was born into the second branch of the redwood family, and upon that day, according to a few recovered logs of the day of his birth, there was much rejoicing. He was born into a lower class family who could barely afford to feed themselves, this was in part due to his mother and father choosing to live a normal life outside of the family, and without any of their financial support. The child was given the name Miccah, named after a legendary swordsman from a fairy tale that his mother and father seemed to like. His father, who to this day Miccah can't seem to remember, was an excellent weapon smith, but since his weapons were of an older time could not sell a blade to save his life, on the day of Miccah's birth, his fatherwould give him one of his best blades. He would tell the newborn that one day he would be a strong swordsman, a swordsman that the Redwood family would never be able to ignore, and that he would show them that even the second branch could have strong fighters. Over the next two years the boy would grow quickly and as he grew so did his strength, the young boy was capable of feats of strength that even kids of five times his age were not capable of, and his famiy grew deeply proud of the child that they had bore.

During the time spent with his parents, Miccah never once frowned, and always seemed to be happy. Many of the neighbors commented on his happy go lucky attitude and the way he approached things. It was at the age of four that Miccah would save a kid from a group of kids who were picking on her, it was amazing to see a four year old standing up to a group of eight year olds, but easily dispatching them. When his parents learned of the antics of the boy they quickly grew even more proud and once again said that he would become a strong fighter and hold true to the ideals of justice and peace. Sadly, when his parents and him were on a trip to visit a nearby town they would be attacked by a group of bandits who would kill his father and mother, but allow him to live. The leader of the bandits, Gibson Rose who was reminded of his own son who he had lost in a fire took the young boy in, and gave him a life among the bandits.

Miccah's Training (4-14):

As a bandit, Miccah was treated like dirt, and looked down upon by all of the other members of the group except for Gibson Rose, who loved the child like his own son. It was because of this love that Gibson trained Miccah on how to fight and he grew considerably good at swordsmanship and fighting in hand to hand combat, skills that he would use to survive out in the wasteland. But these skills were not only used to fend off the occasional hollows, but also the other bandits who looked to brutalize the young boy because of his attitude toward some of the acts of brutality they would commit, namely killing. One time, at the age of seven, Miccah would watch as four of Rose's gang murdered an innocent traveler just for a bit of food, and Miccah would of course dissaprove of the actions taken. Becaue of this dissaproval, which he voiced to the party's in question, and they would of course begin to beat the hell out of him, because at the time Miccah had barely any understand for the things Rose was teaching him. If it were not for the intervention of Brutus, a friend of his who was quite strong, and Rose himself, Miccah would have died in the scuffle. After that point, Miccah took more interest in his training, and as such began to grow more adept at any sort of fighting that Rose and Brutus were willing to teach him.

At the age of ten Miccah had grown to be a lot more silent and the happy go lucky kid that had once been Miccah faded away, leaving nothing, but the serious Miccah that had been made in the wasteland. Miccah, however, would still keep his sense of justice, and not embrace the life of a thief. As time went on, Miccah would forget about his family, but would remember the sword that his father had gave him, and at the age of twelve, Miccah would venture out without Rose's permission to reclaim the sword as his weapon of choice. He would return to his once home, to find it vacated, and empty, all except for the sword which hung on the wall where hid bed had once been. He would take the sword and as he did would find a mirror, looking in it he could tell he looked nothing like he did before, he was taller, and his hair was extremely long. He looked like a homeless person, but he would skip that, and return to Rose who had sent out search parties looking for him over the past few days. Upon his return he was punished, but when Rose learned of what Miccah had done he nodded his head, and quickly forgave him.

At the age of 14, Miccah would be given his first mission by Rose, and having developed a great bond with Rose he would undertake the mission, and go out to complete it. His orders were to kill a group of cops that had tresspassed on Rose's turf and had captured a few of Rose's gang. Miccah when he arrived found himself unable to kill the cops and instead incapacitated them, telling them that he was sorry for what he had to do as he did so, he would release the prisoners, and they would quickly return back to base camp. The prisoners would tell Rose of what Miccah did and Miccah would be punished for his non-completion of the full orders. He would be locked in a hut for a day and a half without water or food, but Brutus would feed him still behind Rose's back, saying that he too had a code of honor. Brutus and Miccah would develop a friendship because of this and quickly became best friends.

The Death of Gibson Rose (14-18):

As time went on Miccah continued develop his combat ability and after a while soon grew into a greater warrior than Brutus or Gibson, becoming a juggernaut much like April Rose when he reached the age of 16. Maybe people were afraid to cross Miccah, even though people who knew him closely would tell them that he was a nice guy, and didn't like to hurt others, they still remained frightened of his abilities. It was at this age that Miccah also learned how to use the Black Flame, a technique that had always been with Miccah, but would only activate when it wanted to, and not when he deemed it necessary. It was around this time that Miccah deveoped the nickname, The Dark Paladin. A title that he proudly still uses to this day. At the age of 17, Miccah was given the trench coat that he normally wears by Rose, who said that he had earned the right to call himself part of the gang, Miccah accepted the trench coat, and wore it proudly. Everything seemed to be falling in place. Everything was peaceful and everything was tranquil, the violence in the camp had gone down and no one dare cross Miccah who enforced a sort of ethics upon the group of bandits, turning them into a group that would not steal from the poor and destitute, but only from the rich. It was at this time that a rival faction within the camp would make a plan to kill Gibson Rose, and take control of the gang.

Gibson would be totally caught off guard when Miccah turned 18 when the assassination took place, and Gibson Rose's life was ended. Quickly Miccah was kicked out of the gang and left in the middle of no where so that he could not find his way around. If not for a group of locals finding him, most likely Miccah would have starved out in the wasteland and died. The locals, the Smiths, took him in, and let him stay in their home for a short period of time just as long as he helped around the house, and did chores. Miccah would do everything in his power to help them and then shortly after would leave, telling them that his life was too dangerous for them to get involved after a certain point. Accepting this, the Smiths let Miccah go, and silently hoped that Miccah would find a nice peaceful life somewhere out in the world.

Miccah, The Wanderer (18-26):

It was at the age of 18 that Miccah left the Smiths and went out on his own into the wastelands again, his first thought was to find Brutus, and ask him if he would come with him in the search of a better life. He would undergo this search for Brutus for four years and finally at the age of 22, he would find Brutus, but his eyes had been gouged out because of his constant meddling in the gangs practices, Miccah promised Brutus he would pay back the gang for what they did, and quickly go out on a mission of revenge. He would find the gang shortly after finding Brutus and demand that they repent for their sins, they would decline, and attack Miccah, only to be overwhelmed by the warrior who had developed his fighting technique even during the four years of searching. Easily dissmissing the lackies, he would then fight the leader of the gang, who he would kill without a remorse, a thing that haunts Miccah to this very day, and then he would return to Brutus. Brutus thanked him, but would tell him that he could no longer go on living like this, and asked to be put out of his misery. Micca did no want to do this and told him that he would not commit such an act, but Brutus begged him to do it, until finally Miccah would snap, and kill his best friend.

He would stay in that spot for almost a year, doing what he needed to survive, but mourning the actions he had taken, and the lives he had ended. Finally after this time of mourning was up, Miccah would begin to wander the wastes, without a clue as to where he would go, and all the while continuing to train as Brutus and Rose had showm him long ago. He would travel around for three years before finally finding a town where he could live, Karakura. He would look around town, looking for a place of employment that could use his skills, and a place where he could live. He would live in the slums on the outskirts of town, and take up the life of a common bounty hunter, hunting down scum, and killing those who had taken lives.

Miccah's Current Events (26-Current.):

Miccah has lived ever since that day as a bounty hunter, killing criminals for money, and finding lost items that people set him off to find. All in all he is a peaceful guy and can be found usually at Nia's bar. He seems to have a slight crush on the woman and because she has a son is very skeptical of what the plan of action should be for him to tell her his feelings. He still trains and doesn't seem to stop training as he continues to think about his father who told him that he would be a great warrior some day, in some ways he wonders if his father would be proud of him or not, but he hopes he would be. All in all, Miccah is living a good life now, except for the occasional bounty mission he seems to be living the life he has always wanted. The one without worries or regrets. He does have intentions to call the Redwood family as he knows that his last name and knows that they are a powerful family, but he hs never gone through with this as he is too scared of what he might learn.



Personality:

Miccah is the strong silent type, choosing to remain silent except when dealing with people he likes, or he is close to. This makes him very mysterious and very few people seem to truly understand him because he keeps to himself even when drinking at the bar which is usually filled with patrons. He has a strong sense of right and wrong that he has developed over the years and deems those that cause harm to others as being people who are not worthy of living, this has given Miccah a sort of reputation as being a man who sticks up for the weak, which is entirely true. Miccah is usually extremely honest with whoever he does speak to and does not try to lie, but does so if it will make the person he is talking to feel better. He is trustworthy and loyal to the end to people he respects or cares for, but has problems with doing things that require him to make difficult decisions such as choosing one life over another.

Despite his menacing height he is rather nice and seems to always treat other's as he wants to be treated, unless they hurt him or some one he knows and when that happens all bets are off. His face remains rather emotionless, but inside he is truly a gifted poet, and can be found writing love poems to Nia which he never completes because he finds them too inadiquate to properly portray her beauty. He is afraid to show Nia his love and affection because he fears that Katsumi, her son, will not like him. He loves kids and is always seen playing games with them when asked, namely kick ball which has become his game of choice at the park. He even coaches a kick ball team. He has an extreme love for fresh home baked cookies.

Likes:

Nia Hayashi: Ever since Miccah moved into the town he has liked one girl and one girl alone, whether she knows it, or not is beyond him, but he does. Nia Hayashi, the local bar owner, is his idol of affection, and he would do almost anything for her if she asked him to.

Kick Ball: At first, Miccah was not that into sports until he started playing kick ball, and now he spends a lot of time at the park. Playing kick ball with the kids who are locals.

Fresh Baked Cookies: He loves cookies, he can't seem to stop eating them, and loves when a woman cooks him a fresh batch of cookies that will last him a few weeks.

Children: Since he never truly had a real father, Miccah tries to treat all the kids if they were his son or daughter. It gets him a lost of respect from the community and he is thankful for that.

Training: He loves to train since he was taught by Rose and Brutus on how to train to get better. He trains even to this day because of that love.

Justice: He believes that one day everything that he has done will catch up with him and he is alright with that, he still believes strongly in justice however, and seeks to do the right thing constantly.

Dislikes:

Evil: He hates all things that are evil and tries his best to stop these things from happening.

Injustice: He hates those that get away without getting punished if they do someting horrible and usually in these instances decides to take things into his own hands and seeks justice for the misdeeds they committed.

Being Alone: He doesn't like to be alone and as such seems to always be around people. He does have some abandonment issues.

Fear:

Death: Miccah knows that one day he will die and he is fine by that, but the events that have occured during his life have given him a fear of those he knows dieing in front of him. This fear drives him to work harder to protect those that he cares for and to fight the forces that would cause the impending death of those he cares for. This fear does not effect him in a negative way, but in a positive way, forcing him to train harder, and longer than ever before.

Stances!

What is a Stance?

A stance is something like a fighting style that can be activated on the fly to change the game plan up. Miccah is a master of four devestating stances each with a certain specilization and perfect for different types of scenarios.

Reckless Stance: In this stance, defense is thrown to the wind and his swordsmanship and hand to hand combat becomes the focus. Also in this stance, Miccah takes reduced damage as he seems to care less about the injuries he receives and more about finishing off his opponent or neutralizing the threat.

Defensive Stance: In this Stance, Defense is maximized while swordplay is downplayed. This stance uses mostly counter attacks and the full arm guard to block attacks. While in this stance Miccah also regenerates quicker than normal, healing slight wounds quickly and moderate wounds faster than usual.

Heroic Stance: In this stance, Miccah combines defense with sword play to create powerful offensive combinations that can take down larger threats. While in Heroic Stance all of Miccah's physical attacks do more damage.

Warlord Stance: In this stance Miccah utilizes his flame techniques along side impressive swordsmanship, this stance is the one that Miccah uses the most as it gives him better results. While in this stance, Miccah can use the Final Flame technique.

Abilities only useable in Reckless Stance

Blade Throw: Miccah throws his sword at a target with all of his strength, which is startlingly powerful, and can do massive damage if it hits. At the same time Miccah can use the Dark Flame Level One ability on the blade to add constant burning damage on top of that if the target is hit. If the sword does not hit an opponent while the Dak Flame Level One ability is active on it, the thing that it hits will catch fire.

Whirlwind: Spinning around quickly and building momentum, Miccah can swing his blade around with a frightening amount of force, and if a target is hit by the blade they will most likely be cut severely. Miccah can use the Dark Flame Level One ability on the blade to create a flaming vortex. If Miccah stops at any time before hitting a target he will launch a tornado at a target, the longer he spins, the stronger it will be.

Brutal Takedown: Discarding the sword, Miccah goes into a deadly all out attack on his foe using nothing more than his hand to and prowess to take his foe down and make them regret ever initiating combat with the Dark Paladin.

Ticking Time Bomb: Miccah surrounds himself in dark flame as this attack begins, Miccah usually discards the sword for this attack, and then runs in giving his opponent everything he has. Once he is done attacking the flame bursts out from around him, doing significant damage to anything within a 360 degree radius of him.

Abilities only useable in Defensive Stance

Sword and Board: The armguard that Miccah uses to block attacks is engulfed in black flame as it creates a temporary shield that can be used to block up to two attacks before fading. When the shield fades the next attack that Miccah uses is considered to be under the effects of Dark Flame Level One.

Wrist Breaker: When an opponent swings a melee weapon at Miccah he can catch the hand of his foe and quickly twist it until he forces the opponent to throw the weapon aside. When that has been done, Miccah will then throw the opponent by pushing back with all of his might.

Energy Deflection: When an opponent launches an energy based attack at Miccah (Cero, Kido...etc...), Miccah may utilize dark flame to create a reflector shield that sends the attack right back at his foe. That attack only does 50% of its original damage.

Earth Shatter: Jumping up as high as Miccah can he charges his fist with dark flame and then when he lands he punches the floor, sending dark flame out around him, and cracking the earth around him in a 100 foot radius. The dark flame utilized in this technique is considered to be Dark Flame Level Three.

Abilities only useable in Heroic Stance

Judgement: Calling upon dark flame, Miccah's blade becomes engulfed in flames as he slashes downard or horizontaly, creating a wave of dark flame that can go on for miles until it hits a target. When a target is hit they or it is engulfed in Dark Flame Level One.

Heroic Rush: Moving at intense speeds, Miccah can create a flurry of blows using nothing, but sword play and raw physical power. Each time the opponent is hit by this attack they take moderate damage.

Rising Slice: Miccah can only use this technique while he is stationary. When Miccah slashes with this attack it is usually a horizontal slice that comes from below, this attack is covered in dark flame, and creates a rise in temperature that will singe an opponent if they get too close or if they are in line with the slash, do severe damage.

Healing Rush: Miccah rushes at his opponent at maximum speed, wailing on him with everything he has, slashes, punches, and kicks. Each hit heals Miccah for a slight amount and raises the damage of his next attack by a slight amount.

Abilities Only Useable in Warlord Stance

Fire Pulse: Extending the hand not holding the sword, Miccah can launch a circular burst of fire at his opponent that upon contanct will burn the opponent for moderate damage and put them under the effect of Dark Flame Level One.

Will of the Fire Lord: Putting the sword into the ground, both of Miccah's hands ignite into dark flame which Miccah quickly launches at his foe, upon contact the thing it touches is put under the effect of Dark Flame Level 2, but if both of them hit the same target, that target is put under the effect of Dark Flame Level 4.

Flame Rush: Rushing forward and dragging his sword across the ground, Miccah causes a line of dark flame to follow him in his wake. Miccah's blade then ignites into dark flame, which he then uses to attack his opponent, Miccah can also turn this into a range attack much like Judgement. If used like Judgement they are engulfed in Dark Flame Level 1, but if used like a regular slash they are now considered to be engulfed in Dark Flame Level 2.

Final Flame: If the opponent is under the effects of a Dark Flame of any level, that level is now increased by one to a maximum of 4. When this attack is performed Miccah's hand is engulfed in Dark flame which he quickly launches at his foe in the form of a giant flame dragon. If the target is hit they take severe burning damage and are put under the effect of Dark Flame Level 3.

Abilities Useable in Any Stance

Dark Flame: Dark Flame is a natural ability that can be used only on a target that he can see. The effects differ depending on the level of Dark Flame that is being used. The level differences are as follows:

Dark Flame Lvl 1: Does slight damage over time.
Dark Flame Lvl 2: Does moderately more damage than Dark Flame Lvl 1 and can deter lower tier fighters from fighting.
Dark Flame Lvl 3: Does moderately more damage than Dark Flame Lvl 2 and can deter foes of equal tier to Miccah from fighting.
Dark Flame Lvl 4: Does moderately more damage than Dark Flame Lvl 3 and can deter foes of higher tier than Miccah from fighting.

These effects are stackable and can be stopped by cutting the limb off that is under the effect of the Dark Flame or discarding the article of that it is burning.

Natural Abilities

Shunpo: The extreme nature of Miccah's training has allowed him to learn many different things, one of these things is Shunpo. He only learned how to do this after years of watching shinigami who were members of the gang peform it.

Master Swordsman Specialist: Miccah has had over twenty years of training with a blade and knows how to use it to its' fullest. He knows several different fighting styles involving the blade and hand to hand combinations.

Enhanced Strength: Somewhat of a genetic anomaly, Miccah was born with a considerable amount of strength, and as such takes a lot from April in the strength department as he can burst through walls and lift cars. This helps him do more damage with his physical damage with his hand to hand attack and sword attacks.

Great Endurance and Durabilty: Miccah can take several hits before going down and has trained himself to be highly durable. After all it is a hard life out in the wastelands and what use would he be if he broke like a twig over a knee?

Expert at Hand to Hand Combat: After training with some of the roughest bandits in the apocalyptic wastelands, Miccah has picked up some tricks that have helped him become a considerable fighter even without a weapon.

Firey Spiritual Power: When Miccah releases his spiritual power it comes out as a black fire around him that heats up the air around him, but does not burn him. If an opponent gets to close he could get burned badly.

Will to Survive: No matter what it takes and no matter to what lengths he must go, Miccah will do it. Even if Miccah has taken severe damage and should be down and out, he will continue to fight knowing that he might be the only one who can take down the threat.
