The Angel Race

This is the term that is generally used to describe beings of “god”; creatures that have come from up above within the heavens and bring the holy light down upon the humans of the earth. Although this is somewhat true, the Angels are not as glorious as one would expect them to be. In fact, there is only one true ‘heavenly being’ among the Angels; while the rest are, or were, normal spirits who have transcended themselves and gained power far beyond their usual capabilities.

Created by the mystery being known only as “Truth”, the Angels are beings who have been granted this increase in power, through the use of an indirect connection to the Root of All Things, Akasha. By being immersed in the knowledge of “The Truth” that “Truth” grants upon them, they are given the key that unlocks their real selves from within. Granted, all beings are capable of transcendence, whether in one way or another, however not all beings are compatible with such knowledge. There are those who have gone completely mad with the thoughts that they’ve been given, and those who stray from the path and lose their connection forever.

Characters that have ascended cannot become Ziamichi, lest they risk losing their Angelhood. This is due to the limited numbers of Angels in the world.

Alignment: All Angels are Good, no exceptions. This can include Lawful, Neutral or Chaotic Good—however, there is no other path but good for a being who has learned “The Truth”. If they somehow stray from their path, they will immediately lose all powers pertaining towards their angelhood, and will need to fully redeem themselves in order to have a chance once more.

Allies: Angel-like characters have no real allies but the ones they make. However, those in this race tend to ally with those in the Gotei 13, and all other related causes.

Enemies: The Kokuryuteshi, Shadow Fall, Monsuta and every ‘evil’ Demon.


Required Tier: There is no required tier to transcend from a normal being to an angel. It is possible to do this, as long as a character has access to some form of spiritual energy—it is easier to perform at a higher tier however.

Required Race: Anything except for Demons/Primarily Hollow-based Races. The negativity that those beings produce disallows the minds of the creatures the needed skill to understand “The Truth”. If the character has a Demonic Ziamichi, the powers of that Ziamichi will be locked away while they use their Angelhood’s fullest potential. This also goes for the Inner Hollow of Vizards.

The Truth: In order to transcend from their earthly form and reach the full potential that they hold, characters who wish to become Angels must view “The Truth”, the area of the Root that will assist them in getting past the block that keeps them locked away. For example: Shadin Yuudeshi would see the way to true balance, or Daigoro Ito would have to try and understand the meaning behind his Sin. Trapped in an area with no escape, they who wish to transcend are given their own “Truth” to view and watch, taking in all of the information and putting it into their hearts. If they can learn and understand from what they are given, they will then be able to unlock that fullest potential – the Full Angel Form, and the benefits that come with such a power.

However, it is not as easy as just watching a movie and reciting the lines. This isn’t just a simple understanding of self; it requires time to be put into such an artifice. For that reason, this world is separate from the normal stream of time. While there may be one day in the real world, two months have already passed in this. It cannot be used for training, however, as there is only one small area where those within can exist. If they were to leave that small area, they’d be consumed by the Root.

Although this is effectively just ‘images’, they may be required to fight within their minds against shadows of their past. These shadows are some of the factors that have held back their fullest development, and can be lingering regrets, grudges, or former loves that just haven’t left their hearts.

As long as they remain within this area and are truly attentive, they can attempt to understand what they’ve been given. These messages will continue for as long as they need, or can handle. With this method, there are generally three paths a character’s mind can take.

1: They will be able to understand and overcome the block in their power. Once this occurs, they’ll be thrust into the world again with this knowledge and able to use it. They may not fully know how to use it, but they will slowly learn.

2: They do not understand, and cannot overcome this block. If this is to happen, they will return to the world in shame. They are welcome to try again, but it will be later, when they have had some chances to think.

3: They take in the information and knowledge, but it is too much for them. Their brain will implode, immediately destroying them from within. Their body will fall into the recesses of the
Root, where they’ll be consumed, lost forever.


Spiritual Pressure: Angels do not have the same spiritual pressure that they would originally have do before transcendence. In fact, this is the first and most obvious sign of a transcendent. they seem to be completely powerless, giving off no apparent signs of strength whatsoever. However, in order to promote balance, all Angels do give off some energy. Known as An Involuntary Movement (AIM), it is the ability that all angels have that allows them to give off a very faint field of spiritual energy. This keeps them hidden within the spiritual pressure of the environment, as well as hiding the true nature to their strength.

Finalized Tier: Although, by use of an Angel State, a character will increase in general power output; it is still limited, to a point. If a character can go up in tier, they will go up in tier. However, once they reach their high point, they will instead be upgraded to a ++. As opposed to a normal +, the additional symbol recognizes the transcended nature of the being, and their superiority over the others within their tier.


With the exception of Truth, there are only ever a total of 7 angels, all at equal ranking within the system. Each of the positions is unique, and each of the Angels has to fill the specific trait of this position in order to fulfil it. The specified rank of an angel does not give them additional abilities.

Castitas (Chastity) - The position of Chastity is not actually given to the chaste. It is given to those who can be free from the temptations of life; purity at its deepest form. (S)he who fulfils the mentality of Chastity has the ability to keep their mind straight and pure, unable to be corrupted or distorted in their path.

Temperantia (Temperance) - The position of Temperance is given to those who practice self-moderation and restraint, knowing that the reward will eventually come to them. (S)he who fulfils the mentality of Temperance tends to be weaker than the other Angels in power, though they’re able to gain strength beyond the other six in times of true need.

Caritas (Charity) - Those who give themselves up in self-sacrifice. Not to be confused with the modern term, Charity is that of ‘Love’. It is he who can love all without bias or prejudice that fulfils these criteria. (S)he who fulfils the mentality of Charity will be able to draw together friends from all races and walks of life, bringing them together for the cause.

Industria (Diligence) (Shadin) - Upholding one’s virtues at all times. If one has the capability to never give up, no matter what the cost, they will fulfil what they set out to do. (S)he who fulfils the mentality of Diligence will have an indomitable will, unable to be overtaken by emotion or laziness.

Patientia (Patience) - (Daigoro) Rewards come to those who wait; and the patient know this all too well. Resolving problems and issues without violence; showing mercy to sinners and enemies. (S)he who fulfils the mentality of Patience will not waver in the face of a fight, instead trying to resolve it.

Humanitas (Kindness) - (Azure) Charity, compassion and friendship for its own sake. Unselfish love and involuntary kindness without bias or spite. (S)he who fulfils the mentality of Kindness shows unbiased mercy to all beings, no matter what walk of life they may arise from.

Humilitas (Humility) - Modest behaviour, selflessness and the giving of respect. Humility is not less thinking of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less. (S)he who fulfils the mentality of Humility will seem to appear underwhelming when compared to other characters, though this is only to keep up appearances.


Purgatonis (Purification:) - In order to promote the health of goodness in the world, Angels are capable of removing demonic influences from any objects that would be otherwise free from them. Unfortunately, they are incapable of destroying demons themselves with this ability; however they do have an ability that will be covered later on.

Angelica Lux (Angelic Light) - By creating a ball of light at the end of their finger, they are capable of enlarging it to a size that can give off its own source of light. Unlike most lights, this is capable of lighting up even the deepest of darkness, or shining through darkness that is supposedly impenetrable by any form of light. Unfortunately, by right of power, only Angels are capable of visualizing the light and seeing the way—others must follow and trust them to find the path.

Intellectius Omnia (Understanding Everything) - Despite the name, this does not actually allow the Angel to understand EVERYTHING. It just allows them to understand everything around them in terms of environment. They are able to discern the current temperature, wind speed and direction, humidity and the like, simply by standing in a single place and concentrating for a second. While one would wonder exactly what the practical use of this ability is, it really is quite simple. An understanding of the environment means that the Angel can adjust their usual attacks to suit.

Clara Clipeus (Bright Shield) - An ability; akin to Hierro, that covers the Angel in a soft and undulating glow. Unlike the all-rounded defence that is Hierro, however, Clara Clipeus is only viable against abilities that are demonic in nature, defending indefinitely against those (not negating, just proffering additional defences). Everything else is as normal.

Vastator Mali (Destroyer of Evil) - As an extension of their usual purification, Angels are able to purify Demons to a point where they cannot access their Demonic powers anymore and leave them simply spirits, able to choose a new path.

By placing their right hand onto the forehead of the target, they flood their body with holy energies. Starting with the brain, they begin to eradicate all demonic influences, one at a time. As they slowly work their way down the body, the demon’s form starts to shimmer and change as the darkness gradually begins to disappear. When using this, it is imperative that every single Demonic influence is removed. If not, they may have a chance of regaining everything.

Touketsu is able to reverse this process. In order to do this, the Demon must have been beaten into submission and unable to resist. If not, they will be able to turn the influence of the Angel with overwhelming force, no matter what. The Angel requires the utmost in concentration to do this and cannot be disturbed whatsoever. Even Shadin would need all of his processing power on this. Allies are a must to keep them safe.

Lux Gradus (Light Step) - This is the Angel equivalent to Shunpo and the opposite of the Demonic Shadow Step. When they are near an area of light, most Angel's will be able to use the light as a medium in order to increase and bolster their speed. In doing so, it is meant to give them the edge over an opponent by maintaining a burst of straight line speed once they've decided the path they wish to take. This must be done manually, and it will take a fair bit of energy to perform.

Once these requirements have been met, then the angel in question will be able to travel through the light and attempt to gain the edge on the opponent. So, as an illustration, an Angel could attempt to mend themselves into a flare of light within an area extending fifty meters. In this predefined path, they could accelerate and find themselves being empowered by the light in order to rapidly appear behind an opponent and attack.

They are limited to only using this 1-2 times per post and they cannot abuse and spam the ability multiple times in the same post. Otherwise, their bodies will face injury and it will most likely result in them being slowed overall when they cease Light Speed. So, to repeat, this ability is designed to allow them time to dodge an attack or gain the element of surprise on a foe. Use it with caution.

Other Notes: It's worth noting the range in which this ability works is also limited by tier:

0 Tier - One thousand meter reach
1 Tier - Five hundred meter reach
2 Tier - Three Hundred Meter Reach
3 Tier - One Hundred Meter Reach
4 Tier - Twenty Meter Reach


This is the ultimate perk of Transcendence; the ability to fully unlock the abilities of the Angelic self and transcend to a higher power and form. A generally end-game form, the Full Angel Form is incredibly taxing, requiring the last of the user’s energy to power completely. Ironically, this does not actually need to make the user look like an Angel themselves—the only reason they are called Angels is because of their transcended nature. Instead, this form will grant them whatever appearance suits the most. The Angel may choose to define their personal appearance to suit the Full Angel Form.

Unlike most forms that grant additional abilities, the Full Angel Form will not always specifically perform that task. Instead, there are three possible paths that the form can take. The selected path is chosen upon transcendence, and can modify the strength of certain parts of the Angel. Each of these three parts unlocks the fullest potential of the Angel in that area, rather than granting them an overall boost. It is advised to choose the path that best suits the Angel.

The Path of Radiance:


Out of the three Paths, the Path of Radiance is the only one that allows a Full Angel to be granted many abilities beyond their usual, and techniques that grant them an additional advantage in battle. A character that has travelled down the Path of Radiance will generally have a glow constantly emanating from their body. While in Full Angel Form, they will continue to have access to their original abilities, however these will also be supplemented with a constant “holy” element, along with the granted abilities. Due to the Path of Radiance bringing forth the light of inner strength, the powers granted will be within the same theme as the powers of the original.

The Path of Power:


If an Angel chooses the Path of Power, they will be unable to gain any new abilities, save for a single one (1). However, they gain an exceptional boost in their main strength type. For example, Daigoro Ito would get an amazing boost in defensive strength. The weakness of such a form, however, is that they have no way of using their weakness—this becomes even more prevalent when they use their one and only ability: this is known as the ‘Ultimate’ ability of the Angel, and further strengthens their main strength to a point to where it is completely indomitable for a certain number of posts. When using this ability, there is absolutely no way of being dominated in that section.

The Path of Balance:


The final path an Angel can choose to take, the Balance path may seem like the weakest choice for the Angel to choose as a “final” form. Unlike the other two, it does not seem to make them much stronger in their battle proficiency. However, what the Path of Balance allows the Angel to do is literally create a “balance”, covering their major weakness with given skill in that area. While within their Final Angel Form, the Angel does not gain any abilities that pertain to their Angelic Form. Instead, they gain prowess in their weakest statistic; enough to assume that it was the section that they had been training in their entire life. This is possible due to their view of the “Truth” and their Transcendence. This allows for more balanced and varied battle from the Angel.
