Just can't get away from her ~Closed~
Mon Jun 25, 2012 1:53 am
Snopy walked through the streets of Rukongai. He had been dealing with his squad members all day and, honestly, just needed to get away from some of them. Snopy wasn't one to be annoyed, but he couldn't focus on anything with people constantly breathing down his neck. At this point Rukongai was about the only place he could think of. That or the wastelands, but with his luck today a Vasto Lorde would show up. He had no intention of dying so he steered clear of that minefield.
Snopy appeared as he usually did. He was of medium height, and a lean build. That didn't make him a very large person, but he wasn't small either. His right eye was a deep hue of purple while his left was a vibrant pink. His hair was medium length, down to his shoulders, and was a bright blonde. For the most part his outfit was that of a standard Shinigami. One part that was different was his left sleeve. After being damaged by a spell launched by Kanna, he had ripped off what remained of his left sleeve. He hadn't gotten it replaced, and actually had no intention of replacing it. He felt it showed something, progress made. It also helped that it was a lot easier to swing his sword without his sleeve getting in the way. Of course, he did just like the way it looked. To his right was his sheathed Zanpakutō, due to him being left handed. Actually he was ambidextrous but he had initially been left handed, so he preferred that as his sword arm. To his right was his canteen of water, freshly filled with water.
He walked through Rukongai to find a nice peaceful area, where he wouldn't be disturbed by Rukongai's less pleasant citizens. He walked through a small forest until he came across an area he thought was nice. To the east was a large rushing river. On the south and west were the trees of a forest. To the north was a clearing leading to a lake. The area he stood in was also a large clearing, most certainly large enough for training, should that tickle his fancy. However at this moment he moved his gaze to the river.
Snopy had an affinity for water. He didn't know why, he just liked it. He always enjoyed heavy rainstorms and lightning storms. He initially wasn't a fan of rivers and lakes, but over time he grew to like them. The rushing water or a river was relaxing. The gentle movement on a lake was calming. And in almost any situation, the feeling of cool water on the skin felt great, at least in Snopy's eyes. He walked over and sat next to the river as he let his mind drift. Listening to the sound of the water and a few nearby birds was a luxury he missed. It was only recently he had the ability to indulge in such things.
He thought about his current life as a Shinigami and how different it was. This time around his current lack of strength was the last thing on his mind. His mind drifted to his past days with his friends and family. He thought about his sweet and gentle mother. If there was one person he missed, it was her. She had a way of cheering up just about anyone in an instant. He thought a bit about the goof he called a father. Snopy laughed as he knew that man could never take anything seriously. Yet somehow, he always felt that his father was more competent than he acted. He thought about his little sister, whom he had always been kind of attached to. She wasn't much younger, but the two of them didn't fight like most siblings.
Finally his mind drifted to his friends and comrades. He went down their various personalities one by one and laughed about each of them, as he reminisced about days past. There was one person in particular he remembered. Yuka, the happy perky girl who spent a lot of time around him. In his lifetime, he usually had some happy perky girl who was always around. He couldn't get away from them. That hadn't, however, happened in awhile. In fact, quite the opposite. He had met a cold and serious person. He laughed a little about it. It would be nice to have time to himself. Seeing as someone as cold and serious as Kanna wouldn't show up like that. At least he didn't think she would. He pulled out his canteen of water and took a sip, while observing the rivers flow.

"Sorry if you've got a problem with me..." A Few Minutes Before Snopy's Arrival... Kanna had arrived in the area about an hour before. She was alone and doing her best to train herself to know and understand her Zanpakutō better than she already had. Was she training for bankai? No. Not at this point. She only wanted to strengthen her ability to hold up certain parts of her Shikai, wanting to strengthen the barriers she had fought so hard to achieve. Most said her abilities were beyond what they had actually expected from her. Others said she had probably reached her limit, but she knew better. She had only just began to master her Shikai's ability. She hadn't thought of anything better than to bring herself out to a place where she could not only relax, but train as well. At the moment, she was standing at the bottom of the lake. Yes, standing. She had her eyes closed and was breathing like normal. This was due to the ability she held dear and the same thing she wanted to strengthen in power and duration. Holding out a heavy burden of water from the barrier she had created a good thirty minutes ago was becoming slightly tiring. Her plan was to swing down to the bottom of the lake, use her shikai to summon a barrier around her body, and hold it up as long as she possibly could before it collapsed in on her. Since she was a good fifty feet down in this large lake, she was actually have tons of gallons of water push down on her barriers and had been lasting the last thirty minutes without fail. Of course this was taxing heavily on her spiritual pressure, but she could handle it as long as she concentrated. Suddenly a familiar spiritual pressure appeared above her on the shore of the lake. Her eyes widened when she realized who it was, losing all concentration on her barrier. It cracked. "Shit!" she thought to herself as the barrier seemed to shatter no differently than glass would. Water poured into the space she had been holding for herself and the entire barrier finally broke. The force and current of the water practically washed her away, sending her in a spiral for a few moments until the space was taken up and finally it calmed down. Slightly annoyed, Kanna glance upwards, now being forced to hold her breath. Clenching her Zanpakutō tightly in her hand, she slowly swam to the surface, quietly peeking her head over the water to see that her suspicions were true. It was definitely Snopy Saika, the young Shinigami she was actually proud to say she had trained, but what was he doing out here? Sighing, Kanna pushed herself onto the shore, allowing her presence to be known as she sat down on the edge with her legs in the water. "Did they send you here to find me, or are you just some how drawn to my location...?" She said as she rang out her hair, tossing it behind her back to look at him. She pulled her sheath from her waist, sheathed her sword, and set it down to the side. At the moment, calling Kanna fully dressed would be an overstatement. Her Shihakusho was in a bag a few yards away from them, hidden in a tree for just in case reasons, so right now she was only wearing a tank-top and a black bathing suit beneath it. She stood up and made her way over to her clothes, pulling them from the tree. She gave him a single warning glare, although it was more than likely not needed, and quickly changed into her dry clothing, stepping out a minute later, looking no different than they had on the day they had met. |

Snopy had thought he sensed someone in the lake, but Snopy shrugged it off. He had thought, "What were the odds someone was actually at the bottom of a lake?" Normally he wouldn't blow something like this off as nothing, but he was just trying to ignore it. However, soon enough, he saw Kanna emerge from the water. Of all places he could have picked it had to be the one Kanna was at. Wait please, I take it back. I prefer the overly energetic girls! It wasn't that Snopy disliked Kanna, that was quite the opposite of how he felt. She was just a lot to deal with. He listened to Kanna's question as he sat. Nothing like that. It is just a coincidence that I showed up here. Snopy's glance returned to the river. Kanna's state of clothing was of no concern to him. He didn't even notice Kanna's warning glance as his eyes gazed back over the river he had initially been watching.
Even as she stepped back out fully dressed, he didn't look over. His mind had once again wandered. Though not very far. Kanna's presence was still at the forefront of his mind. Snopy wondered why exactly they were meeting like this. It was just too much to be a coincidence, though he wished it was. He didn't know how to respond to the situation. He hadn't been sure if he even planned on training. And trying to relax seemed like it might be difficult at this point. Either way, he was at a loss of what to do. So he decided to ask a simple question. Am I interrupting something? I can go if you'd like. Snopy kinda expected her to say she wanted him to go. So he was mentally prepared to get up and leave.

"Sorry if you've got a problem with me..." Kanna stared at him for a moment, her face as emotionless as ever. Now that she was dressed in her usual Shinigami uniform, she picked up her Zanpakutō and placed it at the side of his waist. She shook her head no to his question. He wasn't interrupting anything in her opinion. After how much she had done under the lake water, she was only slightly tired and sort of drained by it anyway. "I was just doing some training with my Shikai. It is over and done now, so all is fine. I'll probably be heading back soon, unless you are here to train of some sorts." She now had a bag of her wet clothing in hand. Tying the handles together, she slid the loops over her wrist and then looked to him again, "...Why are you so far out from the Seireitei?" |

She was being surprisingly pleasant compared to what Snopy had expected. Her voice and expression were what they usually were, but the words coming out were surprisingly polite. The part that had caught his attention was her use of the word unless. She'd be heading back unless he was here to train. Did that mean if he was training she would stay and help? Snopy knew a little something about context and that was about the only reasoning he could come up with.
Part of him felt it was a blessing, as it would certainly help him grow stronger. The other part, however, really didn't feel like doing the intense training he knew she would put him through. He listened to her as she asked him what he was doing. He thought about it before he answered. He went against his intuition and decided to just speak the truth, despite his subconscious screaming at him not to.
Nothing really important really. I couldn't focus on anything with the more immature members of my squad around so I came out here to relax and maybe train if the urge should so hit me. He almost leaned back but as he noticed she was right there and immediately pulled back into a sitting position. If he had chosen to lie down it could've been very awkward. As he sat back up he looked back over the river once again. He had started to think about it, and he really didn't care what happened at this point. She was hard to deal with, but not so much that he couldn't be around her.

"Sorry if you've got a problem with me..." Kanna raised an eyebrow at his words. She figured he would understand what was happening next. He had come here to train if the 'urge' should 'hit' him. Not a good choice of words when speaking to her, but oh well. Her only hint for him to jump to his feet and be on his guard was the fact that she dropped her bag of wet clothes and sort of kicked it off to the side. Bending her neck from left to right, the muscles stretched and the bones popped. "I want to see how strong your Kidō is without being forced to hold back on a count of maybe hurting a member of Gotei... Here you are not holding back against me... No ranks. Nothing. Attempt to kill me if you need to. For example..." This was going to be more of a scare tactic, but she had noticed by his personality that he more than likely would not even flinch. She separated her feet only slightly and held out the palm of her hand. "Hadō thirty-three, Sokatsui!" This time, when the Kidō was cast it was much larger, probably about three or four times larger than what she had previously fired at him on their last session. She shot it out over the entire lake, causing it's power to scar the land beneath it's path, and the water to become disturbed, creating a few waves along the way and even the pressure causing her own hair to blow. This was about her full power, when not having to deal with damaging the Seireitei, or taking the risk of killing the person she was training. Although this was much larger and more powerful, due to her previous intense training beneath the water of the lake, she was still not at full. Her spiritual pressure was slightly drained, and it was taxing on her ability to preform that Hadō at it's normal size. She also had not bothered to say the incantation to make it stronger or last longer. "Do the same. Fire any Kidō you can, at full strength and out in that direction." Obviously this wasn't his choice anymore. He had run into the wrong person if all he wanted to do was relax. And if he ran, she would chase. |

He sighed heavily upon hearing her words. Thats what I thought. Despite her attitude, he stood up rather casually. He had no intention of rushing himself. He wondered if she planned on attacking him then and there, seeing as she had kicked her wet cloths aside. Either way, he didn't feel worried. She seemed determined to train him, though why remained a mystery. She was the type who placed the same lack of trust on anyone she met. She treated everyone equally in this sense, but for some reason she was willing to go this far to train him. This intrigued him, and he wanted to find out the answer. Her appearance her, or his running into her which would be a more politically correct statement, may have actually been a good thing. He had gone from disappointment in his loss of alone time, to being somewhat excited. Though when he got excited, he didn't let out any sign of it.
Snopy simply observed as Kanna raised her hand and fired a rather large Sokatsui blast across the lake. The water under it was forced down from the sheer pressure, causing a dent in the surface for a short time before the water rushed back. From where the Sokatsui blast had traveled waves had moved out from its location, before slowly returning to the water. Snopy's and Kanna's hair had been blowing back from the sheer force, causing his hair to fall over his eyes. It didn't bother him though, his perception was strong enough. Technically he could fight using just his other senses if he needed, at least for a short while.
He let out a long whistle, the sound of which noted how impressed he was. Vice Captain lady has some power. Hope you aren't expecting me to match it. Unfortunately due to the strength level he was at, he could only preform low level spells. He had memorized the incantations and everything about all spells up to 80, but his power and the fact he was trained in a Squad that specialized in Kidō allowed him up to spells numbered 20.
He raised his finger, it was the strongest Hadō he knew that would go more than 20 feet. It was one he used quite often. Hadō #4, Byakurai. He raised his hand, pointed his finger, and launched the beam across the lake. It was nowhere near the power of the spell Kanna had used. However, there was no denying it was more powerful than it was during their previous encounter. It was slightly larger, it moved a little faster, and it packed more heat. Even the Reiatsu in the spell was noticeably larger. There was a small amount of pressure around the beam. The water rippled a bit beneath the spell's trajectory. As he finished off the spell he didn't speak a word, only waited for a response from Kanna.

"Sorry if you've got a problem with me..." Kanna returned to her normal stance, clapping her hands together as if to dust them off. She stepped to the side as she looked back towards Snopy and nodded to him. It seemed he was rather impressed with her ability, which actually made her inwardly smile. She didn't show any difference on her face or in her actions though. Never before had she been able to show someone her skill, most of the time she was only healing the injured or filling out paperwork. It was nice for her. She liked being able to show a few people that Squad Four was not full of a bunch of weaklings that were only there to stay out of the way and heal. Hearing his whistle and then his words she spoke to him in her normal tone. "Thank you." were her only words at first until he stepped up to the plate and got ready to fire off his own Kidō. She spoke to him while he was shooting of his Byakurai, "Being in Squad Four, my abilities are usually healing Kidō and my shikai is one hundred percent defensive. Kidō is really my only aspect of defense since hand to hand combat isn't my favorite, nor is fighting with a sword..." She examined the Byakurai he had shot out and immediately noticed the differences between speed and power. "So he was holding back... Good." she thought to herself with a slight smirk on her face, although she immediately dropped it once the spell was done. "Well it seems that your Kidō is good. How'd your Shunpo? Have you gotten any faster? Did you feel you were able to increase your power at all?" She asked him. Obviously it was a lot of questions, even for her. She kept a serious look on her face while asking as well. That was one thing that she had learned a long time ago. If you wanted to know something, ask. So, it was something she did, uncaring to whether she like the answer or not. "Now... Tell me something you wish to do to train more." |

He listened to her story about Squad 4 and her personal fighting preferences. He actually saw things like that a lot. Though how often he saw it didn't make it any less impressive. He agreed with her on the subject of hand to hand. His specialty had always been ranged, but he was perfectly fine with using a sword. Not that he was an expert at it, he was used to blowing hollow to kingdom come from an extremely long distance.
Snopy listened as she asked him if there was anything else he wanted to train. You seem very fond of Shunpo, very well. She may have been asking him what he wanted to do, but she seemed more like she was asking him to demonstrate his Shunpo. He figured he may as well as he had gotten faster. He took a deep breath and activated his Shunpo, going further and faster than before. When he stopped he ended up some distance away. He stretched a bit before returning. So how was that? Her opinion didn't really matter to him. It would've been nice to get a compliment, but he really didn't give a f*** if he got one. His main goal was to find out why she was so determined to train him. He simply stood waited for Kanna to begin training, aka attack him.

"Sorry if you've got a problem with me..." Kanna watched him move around the area using Shunpo. He was indeed a bit faster than when they had first met. She inwardly smiled, not showing it on her face. It seemed the effects of her training actually had helped him a bit, at least she thought it was her training. Once he returned to stand next to her, she closed her eyes and thought for a moment. "Well, it seems you have increased how fast you move. Nice work. I think you and I should have an actual sparring session. Make it an actual battle between the two of us and see how you do." Kanna could tell that he wasn't sure why she was doing all of this, but unless he asked anything, she would not tell. Trying to read her through her actions and speech make work at times, but not all the time. Kanna stepped away from him, stopping about twenty feet away. She unsheathed her Zanpakutō, now holding it within her right hand. She turned back to him, "I will allow you to decide how you wish to begin the match, but note if your decision is hesitant, or seems to be taking to long, I will be the one to make the first move.... But for now, on your go." She now stood there, twenty feet away, Zanpakutō drawn, and ready to see him bring his A game. |
