Izumi Yokin/Sumika [Approved, 0-4]
Fri Jun 15, 2012 1:34 am
______________________________________________
» Name: Izumi Yokin (Sumika)
» Titles: Iris of the Spring; Checker Piece (in response to Mizore's self-given White Queen moniker);
» Appearance Age: 17-18
» True Age: Somewhere between 900 and 890
» Gender: Female
Affiliation/Rank: Former 3rd Seat of the 11th Division; Leader of the Monsuta's Medical Corp
» Height: 178 CM
» Three Sizes: 89 59 89
» Appearance Description: Izumi's traits are directly inherited from her mother. Her father's lighter hair gave her more of a blue tint to her hair in comparison to her half-sister. She keeps her bangs swept to the left. The sides of her hair extends to the top of her breasts. The back extends to the top of her buttocks. Her jade-green eyes are normally half-closed, as she is normally at least slightly drunk. Her pupils never show up until she's serious. They are very feline, and when they appear her eyes begin to glow. Her skin is very fair, bordering on pale. On the top of her left breast, there is a crimson tattoo of the number ten.
Izumi wears rather simple clothing. She has a white tank top that she keeps tucked in. Over that, she wears a bustless combat vest with a two straps supporting it over her shoulders. She keeps a grey jacket tied around her waist to make sure she always has something in case it gets a bit cold. Her pants are simple and black with a dark blue belt. Her shoes on the other hand are not so simple. They are custom-made for her. They are rubber-sole, steel-toe, temperature-controlled brown leather combat boots with specialized soles for climbing and running.

» Personality:
Ninety-five percent of the time, when you see Izumi, she's going to be at least half-drunk. She doesn't drink because she is in pain. She doesn't drink because she's trying to forget. She drinks because she enjoys it. She drinks because she thinks it lets people 'free' themselves. Izumi isn't very loud when drunk, nor is she very obnoxious. She is lazy and a bit '5-and-a-half-feet-tall with a bulletproof vest' instead of 'ten-feet-tall and bulletproof.' Izumi gets a bit clingy once she's had too much to drink. By clingy, it can be everything from simply laying on to hugging to downright stripping for him (or her {she says 'After a few more drinks, anything goes!'}). Normally after finding someone to cling to, she'll be asleep in that person's lap in a couple of minutes. She fights better when she has been drinking, as long as it isn't too prolonged.
When sober, Izumi is very airheaded. Most of the time when she is sober, she is recovering from the nights before when she had been drinking. So she is rarely truly 'sober' and spends most of her time in a 'post-hangover' state. She'd rather nap than do anything else... except drinking again/ When she is ACTUALLY sober, she's unfocused. What does that mean? Izumi can, at maximum, keep her attention span for three hours.
Izumi is not, on the other hand, an unskilled warrior. She's fond of improvising weapons, such as ripping street signs out of the ground to use as a hammer. However, Izumi has a side few people see. It takes a lot for her to get angry. When she does, it's obvious. She will automatically sober up. However, she's different when serious and sober. Instead, this is when she is the most dangerous. Her tattoo on her breast represents her 'danger level' from her days as a street brawler. Nothing but death could stop her from causing serious injury or death to a person that has either shamed her family or the person she loves. She is good with holding grudges, despite her laziness. What this means is that she handles the revenge quickly.

» Zanpakutō Name: Shihōnokaze (四方の風; lit. Square Wind)/Shihōnokaze no Tōboe (四方の風の遠吠え; lit. Howl of the Square Wind)
» Zanpakutō Spirit Appearance:
Shihō, as she refers to herself as, takes the appearance of a young girl, about twelve. Her silver hair has a cobalt blue-tint. The end of her hair almost extends to the floor. She keeps a white hair ribbon in the front with a white rope bow in the back. Shihō's eyes are a light magenta, and her skin is even whiter than Izumi's. She only has one scar, and that is on her forehead between her eyes. She has the outfit of a Miko. Her hakama is black, unlike the normal red. Her haori is snow-white, and even the underlying kimono is white as well. There is a single red ribbon keeping the two halves of the haori together. She has white tabi that extend about four centimeters above her ankles. For shoes, she wears black-painted zōri with a red hanao.
Tōboe, as Shihō's Bankai self is called, is much older-looking than her other half. She still has the same scar as Shihō in the same place. Tōboe's hair is kept slicked back in the front by a black headband. Her hair is still the same length proportionally. Her eyes, however, are gold and not magenta. Tōboe's bust is also larger than her other half. She wears a double-breasted vest with no undershirt or bra. Her pants are solid white and kept up by a black belt with a golden belt buckle of the infinity sign, albeit with sharp and not round edges. She wears black shoes to compliment the aura of pure superiority.
» Zanpakutō Spirit Personality: Shihō is... to put it bluntly, a spoiled brat. She cries when she doesn't get her way. She gets angry at Izumi for drinking so much. Shihō is, however, very proud of herself. Not proud as in 'look what I've done,' but proud as in 'look at what I CAN do.' Shihō feel that she can take on the world if she were a full spiritual being, but she doesn't hate being with Izumi. She's strangely the voice of reason for Izumi.
Tōboe, on the other hand, is more older sister-like. Tōboe cares for Izumi's wellbeing, to an extent. She is proud in the opposite way that Shihō is. Tōboe is also different in feeling that she is fine and at her peak as what she is. She's the voice of force, however. Tōboe feels that Izumi is strong enough to take on anything and advises her to just go charging ahead.
» Inner World: Compared to most inner worlds, Shihō's is smaller. It is simply a set of five rooftops, arranged in a fashion similar to that of the number five on a dice. The rootops have no access to the endless buildings below. They have nothing on them, but each has a different temperature. The fifth, however, has no temperature. It is slightly higher than the rest, and can not be reached by conventional mean. Shihō has told Izumi that on the fifth, the true power of Shihōnokaze lies in the center.
Sealed Zanpakutō Appearance: Izumi's Zanpakutō is smaller than a normal Zanpakutō. It is a knife with an 8-inch blade and enough of a handle for Izumi's hand. The blade is segmented slightly to where it looks like a lightning bolt. The sheath for the knife is curved and wide to allow for the blade's smooth entry and exit.
» Release Phrase: Shriek (悲鳴; Himei)
» Shikai Appearance: Izumi doesn't change in Shikai. When she releases her Zanpakutō, Izumi pushes a bit of reiatsu into it. It will begin to crack and eventually shatter. When it does shatter, the handle and blade will turn to a fine powder. The powder settles back into the sheath, where it will re-form the knife.
» Shikai Abilities:
Inability to be Intoxicated: Thanks to the focus that is required to accurately use her four winds, Izumi's body is unharmed by intoxication effects. What this means is that poisons, aromas, and visuals that would normally give an intoxicated or hypnotized-like feeling do not affect Izumi. Note: Illusions, Sea and Air Sickness, Nausea all still affect her normally.
Heightened Presence Awareness: In a 50 meter radius (this is increased to 200 meters once she attains Bankai), Izumi can detect fluctuations in the wind. This means anything that can displace air is able to be detected by Izumi, except for things like Shunpo and the like. This is because it is impossible for her to be able to detect something moving that fast. Some larger-caliber and all sub-sonic ammunition on the other hand are able to be detected.
Seihōkei Kyōfū: (正方形強風; lit. Squared High Winds) Shihōnokaze's main ability. The main four abilities are forms of the four Anemoi, or winds. In ancient Greek religion and myth, the Anemoi (in Greek, Ἄνεμοι — "winds") were wind gods who were each a cardinal direction from which their respective winds came. She can only control one at a time.
- Seifūkaze: (西風 ;lit. Zéfyros) The first of Izumi's four winds. Seifūkaze represents Zephyrus, the West Wind. The gentlest of the winds, Zephyrus is known as the fructifying wind, the messenger of spring. Seifūkaze allows her to wrap her wind around objects, up to the size and weight of a mini-van. The wind acts as a sort of tentacle, wrapping around the target. She can only hold one of its maximum size. She can hold up about three average height and weight humans at maximum. The control is up to 100 meters. Before grabbing onto an object, dust in the area makes the wind visible.
- Kochikaze: (幅風 ;lit. Év̱ros) The second of Izumi's four winds. Kochikaze represents Eurus. Eurus was the Greek deity representing the unlucky east wind, thought to bring warmth and rain, and his symbol was an inverted vase, spilling water. She doesn't like using it, as it is a bit too uncontrolled. Whereas the other three would be comparable to a motorcycle in control, Kochikaze is a mile-long freight train. She uses Kochikaze as a last-ditch resort or to destroy or damage large structures. It is a gale-force gust that is shaped like a large rectangle. Its exact dimensions are unknown, but it is estimated to be between 90x90x50 and 110x110x70 meters (length by width by height). Izumi can move it around like a large brick. Thus, Izumi can drop it on someone or just 'push' it towards someone or something or someplace.
- Soyokaze: (微風;lit. Nótos) The third of Izumi's four winds. Soyokaze represents Notus. Notus was the Greek south wind. It was associated with the desiccating hot wind of the rise of Sirius after midsummer, was thought to bring the storms of late summer and autumn, and was feared as a destroyer of crops. It is a wind that she doesn't use much because of its attribute: fire. The wind under her control takes a small red glow. It takes the shape of an axe-like blade about the length of Izumi's arm in its base form. She can cause the 'wind blade' to extent to a grand total of 100 meters. However, that isn't just a straight line. The 'blade' can be bent up, down, and side to side. It is superheated to being capable of melting through steel like thermite. It is the only of her winds that can hurt her as well.
- Kitakaze: (北風 ;lit. Voréas) The fourth and final of Izumi's winds. Kitakaze represents Boreas. Boreas was the Greek cold north wind and the bringer of winter. His name meant "North Wind" or "Devouring One". She is more skilled with using Kitakaze than any of her other three. Kitakaze is harder to see as it is a small blue glow to it. It is as strong as a steel blade and as cold as liquid oxygen. It causes a freezing 'cauterization' on what it cuts, which can make it more dangerous if the ice isn't removed. It acts and has the same length limitation as its older brother, Soyokaze.
» Bankai Appearance: Izumi doesn't change in Bankai either. Instead of breaking the knife, Izumi calls out the name of her Bankai and then stabs it into her heart. However, it only sinks into her body, disintegrating as it enters her.
» Bankai Abilities:
Enhanced Cold Durability: Izumi gains an enhanced durability to ice-based attacks. It increases the time it takes for her to be frozen or frostbitten. This is because she has a weaker version of Kitakaze surrounding her to the point of being a hierro-like barrier over her skin. Fire-based abilities can burn through this barrier to create an opening for one post.
Enhanced Presence Awareness: Izumi's presence awareness is even sharper in Bankai. The range is half a kilometer in any direction around her. She can now sense some supersonic (up to Mach 3) movements. In a 5-meter radius around her, even bullets are able to be detected. Whether or not she can dodge them is another story.
Inability to be Intoxicated: Thanks to the focus that is required to accurately use her winds, Izumi's body is unharmed by intoxication effects. What this means is that poisons, aromas, and visuals that would normally give an intoxicated or hypnotized-like feeling do not affect Izumi. Note: Illusions, Sea and Air Sickness, Nausea all still affect her normally.
Seihōkei Kyōfū no Tōboe: (正方形強風の遠吠え ;lit. Howl of Squared High Winds) Enhanced versions of Seihōkei Kyōfū from Shikai. Whereas she'd be able to control only one of these in Shikai, she can now control Soyokaze no Tōboe and Kitakaze no Tōboe at the same time.
- Seifūkaze no Tōboe: (西風の遠吠え ;lit. Howl of Zéfyros) The first of Izumi's four winds. Seifūkaze no Tōboe represents Zephyrus, the West Wind. The gentlest of the winds, Zephyrus is known as the fructifying wind, the messenger of spring. Seifūkaze allows her to wrap her wind around objects, up to the size and weight of a freight train. The wind acts as a sort of tentacle, wrapping around the target. She can only hold one of its maximum size. She can hold up about six average height and weight humans at maximum. The control is up to 200 meters. Before grabbing onto an object, dust in the area makes the wind visible.
- Kochikaze no Tōboe: (幅風の遠吠え ;lit. Howl of Év̱ros) The second of Izumi's four winds. Kochikaze no Tōboe represents Eurus. Its exact dimensions are unknown, but it is estimated to be between 150x150x80 and 170x170x100 meters (length by width by height). Izumi can move it around like a large brick. Thus, Izumi can drop it on someone or just 'push' it towards someone or something or someplace.
- Soyokaze no Tōboe: (微風の遠吠え;lit. Howl of Nótos) The third of Izumi's four winds. Soyokaze no Tōboe represents Notus. Notus was the Greek south wind. It was associated with the desiccating hot wind of the rise of Sirius after midsummer, was thought to bring the storms of late summer and autumn, and was feared as a destroyer of crops. It is a wind that she doesn't use much because of its attribute: fire. The wind under her control takes a bright red glow. It takes the shape of an axe-like blade about the length of Izumi's arm in its base form. She can cause the 'wind blade' to extent to a grand total of 200 meters. However, that isn't just a straight line. The 'blade' can be bent up, down, and side to side. It is superheated to being capable of melting through steel like thermite. If it passes through sand, it will glass the sand it cut through. It is the only of her winds that can hurt her as well.
- Kitakaze no Tōboe: (北風の遠吠え ;lit. Howl of Voréas) The fourth and final of Izumi's winds. Kitakaze no Tōboe represents Boreas. Boreas was the Greek cold north wind and the bringer of winter. His name meant "North Wind" or "Devouring One". She is more skilled with using Kitakaze no Tōboe than any of her other three. Kitakaze no Tōboe is harder to see as it is a small blue glow to it. It is as strong as a steel blade and as cold as liquid helium. It causes a freezing 'cauterization' on what it cuts, which makes it very dangerous if the ice isn't removed. It acts and has the same length limitation as its older brother, Soyokaze no Tōboe.
Kaze no Arashi no Tōboe: (風の嵐の ;lit. Howl of the Storm of the Winds) Kaze no Arashi no Tōboe is a major advancement of the Seihōkei Kyōfū concept. Whereas the Seihōkei Kyōfū winds were the Anemoi, Kaze no Arashi no Tōboe winds are the Anemoi Thuellai (Άνεμοι θύελλαι; Greek: "Tempest-Winds"), wicked and violent daemons created by Typhon. Like in Shikai, she can only control one of these at a time (save for one). She can not control one of the Seihōkei Kyōfū no Tōboe and one of the Kaze no Arashi no Tōboe at the same time.
- Mōmoku no Tōboe: (盲目の遠吠え ;lit. Howl of the Blind) Mōmoku no Tōboe represents the northeast, Kaikias. His name is cognate to the Latin word caecus "blind." Mōmoku no Tōboe is the literal strongest of any of Izumi's winds. Essentially, it causes a large-scale wind storm in a 1-kilometer-diameter dome. The dome also extends half of a kilometer above (and below her, if she is not on the ground when activating this ability). The wind's sheer strength creates sandstorm-like conditions within. Instead of sand, however, paint, dust, even water become what blocks view. For both Izumi and her opponent, there is little more than a single meter in viewing distance. Izumi's sensing ability is not usable in this. She can keep the sphere/dome up for 5 posts with a 3-post cooldown period.
- Gamen no Tōboe: (画面の遠吠え ;lit. Howl of the Field) Gamen no Tōboe represents the southeast wind, Apeliotes. He was thought to cause a refreshing rain particularly beneficial to farmers. Gamen no Tōboe is effectively the only thing that Izumi can use to heal herself. It is the only one of her winds that she can use with another wind active because of that. Essentially, Izumi will create a bandage or a stent to either cover up or artificially and temporarily heal herself. She can only do this thrice per thread, and it can't heal near-fatal wounds. At most, one can last ten posts before it is unusable.
- Tanso no Tōboe: (平均の遠吠え ;lit. Howl of Balance) Tanso no Tōboe represents the northwest wind, Skeiron. He was seen as representing the onset of winter. Tanso no Tōboe is the only defense-class wind Izumi has. Tanso no Tōboe creates a torrent of wind around both of her arms. If it comes in contact with another wind or shockwave ability, even Izumi's own winds if they are lingering around, both Tanso no Tōboe and the other wind cancels out completely. This cancels it for both arms, and it can only stop one ability. Izumi can only use it once per thread.
- Jari no Tōboe: (中東の遠吠え ;lit. Howl of Sand) Jari no Tōboe represents the southwest wind, Lips. His Roman equivalent was Afer ventus ("African wind"), or Africus, due to Africa being to the southwest of Italy. Jari no Tōboe's name is not just for show, nor is its representation. It truly represents a Scirocco wind. A Scirocco is a Mediterranean wind that comes from the Sahara and reaches hurricane speeds in North Africa and Southern Europe. While not as strong as Mōmoku no Tōboe or Soyokaze no Tōboe, Jari no Tōboe is, on the other hand, the largest of any of her winds. Three kilometers long, four nanometers wide , and a kilometer tall, the massive wind wall can be classified as an anti-army attack. Its 150 kilometer-per-hour wind speed makes it incredibly dangerous. However, that is not all that this wind brings. As it passes over, the temperature raises 40° C ( 104° F). Yes, this wind can cause most ice to melt and most water to boil. It can also cause sudden nausea thanks to rapid temperature changes, as well as heat stroke in some. Some flammable materials' containers (propane tanks, aerosol cans, etc.) will rupture as this heat wave passes over. Coupled with down power lines, this wind can destroy entire towns. Izumi despises this wind, but she knows that there will be a time and place where this eternal destroyer will need to be used. She can only use it twice per thread with a 6-post cooldown between uses.

» Inner Hollow Description: Izumi's inner hollow only slightly resembles her normal self. Her turquoise hair extends just below her shoulders. She sometimes styles her hair with a pair of silver cross-shaped pins. She has eyes that are the same color as her hair. Her skin is very, very pale. She wears a gothic-style dress that resembles that of a maid's.
» Inner Hollow Personality: Izumi's Inner Hollow refers to herself as Aoi. She is very, very cold towards Izumi. This is because she disapproves of Izumi's laid-back attitude. Aoi wants Izumi to take down everything that hinders Izumi's path. However, that includes her family and drinking buddies. Aoi despises the thought of family, as Izumi grew up alone after a while. Aoi hates the fact that Izumi might get injured or killed protecting the people whom have no right to be protected by Izumi.
When she fights Izumi, Aoi always, always, always tries to harm her enough to make her realize the faults in her ways. Even though she is an Inner Hollow, Aoi knows she can never defeat the airhead until something happens to one of her family members. With the inner world being a cityscape, Izumi knows how to use it far better than Aoi. Aoi knows this, but still will attack to try to get Izumi to listen to her... to no avail.
» Inner Hollow Powers: Aoi doesn't have many powers outside of the normal inner hollow range (Cero, Bala, etc.). The only one she has is Della Luce Della Luna (lit. The Light of the Moon). While holding her hair pins, Aoi can fire a total of three miniscule cero-strength beams from each of her pins. They are highly visible, though they never fly in a directly-straight line. They coil, curl, roll, and zig-zag in the direction of the target, though they are not homing. After three posts of use, it has a one-post cooldown period.

» Hollow Mask Appearance:
» Vizard Powers:
Cero: Nothing special about Izumi's Ceros except the color. Hers are a bright blue with a swirling white aura.
Enhanced Cold Durability: Much like in Bankai, Izumi gains an enhanced durability to ice-based attacks. It increases the time it takes for her to be frozen or frostbitten. This is because she has a weaker version of Kitakaze surrounding her to the point of being a hierro-like barrier over her skin. Fire-based abilities can burn through this barrier to create an opening for one post.
Makka na Chikai: (真赤 な 誓い; lit. Blood-Red Oath) A passive ability that she can only grant with her mask on, but can be monitored without it. This is something she does to prove that someone means a great deal to her. She will cut open her arm and the other person's arm. She will then put her wound against the other person's. She will then recite a chant to make the "bond" complete: "No matter when, no matter when. No matter where, No matter where. It matters not what kind of friend or foe I may come across, there is no way I will let go of my hold on this blood-red oath." What this does is that it allows her to sense the heart, chi, reaichi, etc. -beat of the other person... and vice-versa. As long as they are in the same dimension, Izumi can feel that and the same goes the other way around. She can't use it as a radar to detect the person's location. Instead it's more like using it as a monitor for their condition.
Makka na Chikai no Tōboe: (真赤な誓いの遠吠え ;lit. Howl of the Blood-Red Oath) An ability of Makka na Chikai that can only be used when her mask is on. It allows for her to speak to a person she has a Makka na Chikai with telepathically. It's nothing special, except that it allows her to speak with the person when they are not in the same dimension. If the other person is somehow cut off (dying, special ability, etc.), Izumi will hear static and will be forced to shut off the telepathic link.
_____________________________________________
» Background: Izumi doesn't remember her own mother's name. Her father? She doesn't remember him at all. Her father walked out on both of them after Izumi's mother found out she was pregnant. After Izumi was born, her mother needed a way to support the growing girl. Unfortunately, her mother was... not the most talented person around. Not to mention where they lived didn't offer many places to work in. She sold everything she could to make money, but even that didn't last long. So, she sold the only thing she had: her body.
She got pregnant many, many, many times. Though, Izumi never saw her mother much during those times. After about five or six years, Izumi's mother had enough money to keep up the house and to keep Izumi in decent living conditions until she could work on her own. Izumi, however, did not go the path her mother thought she'd go. Whereas most children in her village stayed there to work, Izumi decided it would be best for her to leave. This was because she found out about her mother's ill-doings when she was a child. She was being called the 'child of a whore' and other names that made little sense. So, she got fed up with it. Every person that talked like that to her face was beaten to a bloody pulp, literally. A few eventually died, and so she was no longer welcomed there.
Everyone in the Rukongai knew who and what the Shinigami and Gotei 13 were. It was the last-ditch effort to either run away or gain stable pay in the Soul Society. Izumi needed both. She took the entrance exam and was granted access to the Shinō Academy to train to be a Shinigami. Because of physical labor she did while at home, she was exceptionally strong. However, she was lazier than everyone in the academy. She could have easily been working on getting in the advanced classes, but she was too lazy to do so. She spent most of her time asleep in class, but she did participate in the training exercises. When it came to Zanjutsu training, she... was horrible. No sword worked with her style. Most of the swords would break upon repeated use with her. As a last resort, they gave her a steel pole. It lasted until the very end of her academy days, where she broke it in the exit examination. Her replacement? A tree trunk from the test ground. Needless to say, they knew exactly where to send this lazy one.
The 11th Division's captain, Kenpachi Kiganjō, was just as lazy as Izumi. The stranger part is that she was of comparable strength to Kiganjō. Of course, not as strong as he was, but for her position and age... it was rather stunning. However, Izumi didn't want to be a vice-captain because the current one was, as she put, 'scary.' That and... well, she didn't want any of the paperwork required of a position like that. Izumi simply spent her time napping... most of the time near her Captain. However, she began to hear a voice in her head... kinda. She did not know what this voice was, except that it was causing her to lose sleep... which was not good for this voice.
Eventually, she found a knife buried in her pillow. She took it out and examined it before putting it back in. The voices started again, so she took the knife back out. So she began to talk back to this voice whenever she was sober or too bored to sleep. It took a few months, but she finally learned the name of this voice: Shihōnokaze. Yes, this voice was her Zanpakutō spirit. It was a few weeks later that she learned how to release her shikai. She was surprised originally with the... strange abilities of this Zanpakutō. For about fifty years, she trained and trained with her winds.
Then... something happened. Someone recognized Izumi as the one who had killed people years and years ago in her Rukongai district. Izumi was called to trial by Central 46... however, for once in her life, she was scared. Truly scared. She had only one option, which was to run away. And so she did. She fled into the Rukongai and began life as an exile. She was constantly harassed, being a fairly attractive female. Izumi constantly had to fight off would-be rapists, but she just grew accustomed to it. The fights she got into caused a crowd every time. One time, an ex-Shinigami was one of the would-be attackers. He brandished his sword, and so Izumi ripped out a support beam and smashed it into the ex-Shinigami's ribcage. This brought the attention of a street fight-runner.
The guy was shady as hell, with a grin that said "Hey, lemme get a feel." However, he was not unskilled. His name was Shakadou Gyoubu. He was an ex-Shinigami as well, but he was from the Second Division. Shakadou invited Izumi to fight for him as a sort-of 'final boss' for his ring. She would get paid as long as no one got past her in the ring. She accepted, though she rarely fought. When she would, fight, however, no one ever got past her. Shakadou had a rather skilled team under his belt, which many called unfair. However, people always came in and bet against Shakadou's team. Thus, Shakadou always got money, lots of it. Thus, Izumi was paid well. She could stay at the bar she would fight at.
After a while, the pay went down. Clients strayed away from Shakadou's 'rigged' fights. He simply quit doing the fights and sent Izumi and the rest away. Izumi took the money she had left and purchased a ticket to an illegal senkaimon and escaped to the world of the living. It was about 2100 A.D. Izumi was in the wastelands, as it had a good bit of inhabitable buildings that were abandoned because the area was dangerous. She was able to live peacefully there for a few years. However, she soon started to hunger. She had never felt it before. So she began eating the forest itself... but that did not help. Another voice appeared in her head, this time less calm than Shihōnokaze. This... second voice told Izumi how pitiful she was. Then, it happened.
One July, Izumi underwent hollowfication. She did not know what was happening, but the pain was immense. She entered her inner world and met Aoi, her inner hollow. The inner world was now covered in a blue fog-like haze. The inner hollow charged at her holding a copy of the dagger Izumi had. Izumi countered with her own dagger, and immediately grabbed the throat of her inner hollow, asking what she did to Shihō. Izumi almost crushed the inner hollow's throat before she admited defeat. The haze disappeared. Aoi told her what she was and that Shihō was still there, just silent at the moment. Shihō then crawled up from the side of one of the buildings with her mouth taped over. Yes, she was silent... and Aoi would have preferred if Shihō had fallen into the abyss.
Izumi decided to leave the abyssmal wastelands to find somewhere a little less active to live, er, sleep in. She doesn't know how she came to get in the Monsuta... or honestly, where she was, but she remembers waking up in what she would later know as the Hell Room. She was asked what she was doing here, and she simply asked where she was. Because this was the beginning of the Monsuta, she was asked to join them. Of course, she was thrown to the only division lacking a commander. During a normal meeting, the Monsuta's Leader, Hakai Chikara, recognized Izumi... sort-of. During one of her deep slumbers, Hakai took Izumi to the human world to meet his wife, Mizore Yokin. Of course, the resemblance was quite stunning between the two... after all, they were half-sisters.
