One, Two, Three, the clocks ticking.

Ryu sat on the building looking over the graveyard, deathly quiet and peaceful that was what made this place amusing and such. His hand played with a small dice, rotating it around in different motions and just tossing it up and down. Upon his waist a Zanpakutō rested, he looked like any ordinary kid. but his expression was hard, one that had seen many things.
Heavy eyes that had experienced pain and suffering to a degree that some would consider complete madness, he considered it just another day in life. He was a medic and that was it, his life was spent healing people and this was fine by him. He heard a voice nagging him for combat again, stupid thing was rather annoying and it and he would differ on mostly every argument they came into class about.
His eyes gazed at the stones, taking each individual one as a healers failure to respond or get there. It was interesting, for a boy to hate death so much and yet desire to be close to it. It was a way to absorb things and unwind. For really, as a giver of life. They need to be close to death as possible to really truly understand the value of life itself.

Are you really saying that you believe in zombies?
Considering what we have seen as of late, is it so hard to believe that there could be a chance of a zombie apocalypse?
Even to this day Andrew always had this debate with Tetsu. Though very unlikely of zombies being able to swarm the very planet, Andrew had a highly held belief that zombies can happen. At first it didn't seem likely, but when combining the factors of various races that exist on the living plane it could easily be possible for zombies to exist. The debate continued to roll along without end until something had made the vizard stop. He caught the glimpse of a white haired boy looking over the graveyard. He tiled his head to the side, wondering if he had just recently died. He remembered when he saw others standing over either their graves or their very corpses and the massive variety of emotions that could possibly be shown with them. However with this one it didn't look like he was going to snap anytime soon.
He walked over to him, realizing there had been a zanpaktou at his side. He must have been a shinigami at first glance. He wasn't sure if he was a vizard, so for the time he was better off faking it until he knew that he wasn't going to get into an immediate deathmatch. He walked over to the boy, sitting down next to him. At first he didn't really say anything since he wasn't sure what to say. But his childlike curiosity had given him the words as he seemed to be fixated at the dice that he had been tossing up in the air. It seemed like a strange thing to toss up in the air, but then again he seen people tossing coins up in the air, so is it any different? As he watched the dice go up and down, he then asked a rather odd question to break the ice. "Did you know there are actually dice out there that can have less and more than six sides?"

Ryu's eyes opened slowly as he caught the dice within his index and middle finger now and held it. THe new person, he'd known who he was at the moment he'd come over. Becuase with his new found job it was just part of the work that came from it. His eyes fell softly on the male's figure, this was one he'd be healing someday. Andrew, he pondered how long till he figured it out. On a philosophical level, this meant much more. For to truly know a being, strip away titles and those that come with it. He only carried three dice with him. Each had a story behind it's special meaning, this current one was his last memento from his mother before she passed away. A sickness that was incurable the current medical practicer's of that day had said.
Well they were the one's proven to be wrong, that this wasn't quite the end really. It was more along the lines of being a good medic and providing services to the end, perhaps simply a bitter little boy. But this bitter little boy had proven to be a better healer and practicer of medicines than any of those fools who'd been unable to treat a sickness. Sometimes he wondered about ripping them apart, but would notice that his dear hollow side was attempting to make a rather abnormal escape from his confines.
"Yeah, Andrew I am aware of it." How strange it was to say someone's name and realize they don't know whom you are. But yet again perhaps one of greater philosophical meaning, came here. Sometimes the future you count on is on the person of today. Grant it, he was well aware how childlike he appeared. That wasn't much more beyond a dream of anything other.
His gaze befell the person now, letting his hand slowly bring the dice into his palm now. Deciding he'd played long enough, let's see if that gave him a small scare.

Huh, that's new...
Normally for Andrew people usually do not refer to him by his first name. They usually think he is a shinigami. So this lead to two conclusions in his mind: the first thing was when he addressed him by his name that mean he knew him. And above all else, the fact he didn't draw his zanpaktou out meant that he wasn't an enemy. For now it was safe to assume that he was a vizard, but he was going to be careful so that he wouldn't put himself into a false sense of security. He didn't seem to be scare though as he looked at him. If anything, his curiosity at the time seemed to have overridden any sense of fear at the moment. It was that kind of curiosity that when a child had first discovered fire or a strange new animal that they never seen before in their wildest imagination. To him he seemed to be like a gambler. However judging from the seriousness on his face he didn't really seem to like the taking money part of it. Perhaps he was more inclined to the math and how the roll of the dice can factor into probabilities.
In any case, he seemed to have stopped tossing the dice in the air. Perhaps he had just needed to sit a spell to recollect his thoughts about what he needed to do for the day. In any case the gears in his head continued to turn as he spoke in an honest tone. "Okay so you know my name. I don't think I remember seeing you around the area," he said while tilting his head. He looked the white haired boy over, trying to pull some kind of memory that he could have met him. Could it be from a restaurant from either his time from the Soul Society or his self imposed exile? He shook his head, the name was not coming to him that would match his face before he spoke again. "Usually first meetings require some kind of introduction. You seem to know me, but I don't remember you."

Ryu's seemed smile shaking his head, he was new indeed but he wondered if his name would ring any bells. Maybe knowing his name plus an introduction of his rank would help out a little. He wasn't entirely sure about this though, it seemed rather likely that this was was just another guy he had to heal and tell the importance of who he was next to. Because really, without healers they weren't going to go to far.
"Ryu Shizuka, Sector 3 Colonel. I know your name because I was given a small list of people and looked it over because sooner or later I may have you in for healing and decided to learn what I could." Ryu put the dice within his pocket, some people never knew why he played with this dice. It was more to do with relaxing himself then anything else, this was simply a cause of enjoyment above everything else.
Roll the dice was a term some people would use to describe any situation that came along, well it was a decent enough way to describe anything really. It all came down to the reality of the situation, as though a child like person would just sit here. It was an interesting person and he acted quite calmly which was a good trait for someone to have. He would get a four out of six, higher ranking in his book would require to see him fight. An truthfully he wasn't to eager to see any violence yet.

"Oooh a colonel, sorry about not knowing your name Ryu. I'm still learning names around the vizard corp."
With him names are little more difficult than anything. Since he had problems with names he tried to use different ways to remember who a person was. The best example with that was when Colin talked about the eagle. So whenever he needed to think about Colin's name, he thought about the eagle. With Ryu it would be no exception. He looked at the bag of dice, keeping in his mind that the dice were key to think of whenever he met him. But still it was pretty interesting to see a medic though. He still wanted to meet as many of the vizard corp as possible, so he had been happy about seeing him. Andrew then took a seat as he looked out into the distance. "I'm still learning the ins and outs of the corp myself. But I still have some skills I can be able to use. I started off in the shinigami having excellent skills with Kidō. When I told Colin this and my desire to remain sharpening my Kidō abilities, he offered the position of lieutenant colonel of sector 2."
He was pretty happy as he talked about his promotion. He wanted to show Colin that he can be able to do the job. He then looked out into the distance before turning to look at Ryu once again. "So if you don't mind me asking, why are you out here? It seems like a strange place to relax at." Of course with Andrew he had his own random thoughts going through his brain again. Tetsu had told him to not even think for a single moment about the theory of the zombie apocalypse and not to say anything to Ryu. Even to this day with everything he had seen in his life he always had considered the possibility of a zombie walking on the earth and not the voodoo kind of zombie either.

Ryu nodded merely listening to the young Kidō practitioner. He smiled slightly at the question of why Ryu had come here, he was about to get something of an ideal from Ryu. Hopefully he understood the concept of what Ryu was talking about. Well the real reason for being here was to get closer to death, to understand the ideals of what was coming from this place
"This place teaches me as a medic what to avoid, but also as a doctor I should try to get close to death so I know the ways to stop it. Do you understand, this place isn't a common hang out for me. But this place is for me to learn and follow what I can from this and become stronger."
Everything had been explained to a point, Ryu was completely listening to the boys story before the question had been asked. Kind of the way this game had gone so far in life, he'd been a healing prodigy and almost had completely written the book on how to heal someone. He was a medic that was up and coming, very quickly to the top of his lists in the academy.

"Actually I do."
Andrew looked out into the graveyard. Though he wasn't a medic, he could sort of understand what it is meant to prevent certain things. He lacked the ability to heal other people, but he could do things to ensure the welfare of them to make sure they come back relatively in one piece. He had to learn such things the hard way though. He looked at the graves, thinking about Yumi back when he had been fresh out of the academy. It was his lack of experience in the past that lead him down a different path and set a series of events in motion that would eventually bring out his hollow and make him fight for his life just so that he wouldn't fall and turn into one of them.
He continued to look out into the graveyard as he then spoke again. "For me though it is the kitchen. When I need to have time to think or even try to wind down after a busy day, I found that cooking was my refuge. Cooking is one those kinds of things that it is not just an art but also a science. I am interested in making food look good and have people eat with their eyes. But I am also very interested in how certain foods can mix together to make different results. I like to find those things and try to see if they can be able to work out in the end. But don't worry I would not use it on any of the Corps as some kind of culinary science project. If anything I always taste what I make first so that I know what I made is edible before even considering showing the food to others." He then turned his head again and smiled happily. "You'd be surprised what I had been able to create when I go into the kitchen. Personally I like to bake some pretty decent desserts."

Ryu got up slowly, giving a long sigh as he observed this place for a moment longer. His duty as a medic was clear and well he didn't really give a damn about this place any further, he was a commander of the Vizard Corps and well had some duties to uphold and get to work on. His eyes didn't turn away, Andrew was young yet and perhaps that was why. Well maybe older than him, but Ryu believed somewhat that he was a special case but he didn't enjoy combat at all. His hollow side on the other hand had a large enjoyment factor for it. Ryu had business to attend too and well time wasn't really on his side at the moment.
He picked up his Zanpakutō gripping it softly as he got ready to move on, giving a curt nod to the man he'd been talking too.
"Nice chatting with you."
Ryu vanished with a shunpo that was quite fast for one so young. Deciding to leave this area and move on to business, he'd observed death and got his mind ready for the most part, time now was to put it to work.
