Roger Of Yorktown Gave Battle In Vain (Open)
Sun Apr 01, 2012 12:37 pm
The sky was black.
No stars twinkled on the voided canvas. No moon hung heavily, threatening to fall and crush the earth. No clouds, full and strong, hovered over the city; no clouds, whispy and phantastmic, spread their way along the sky. It was simply a blank state, filled in with black. It was almost as if someone took the Paintbucket tool from MS Paint and clicked it on the sky. Lowering, the skyscrapers of the city glowed internally, as if a bioluminescent reaction was occuring. However, it wasn't quite so magical. Instead, simple light panels glowed with random colors, causing the city to pulse like a demented disco show.
Going down even further, the more contemporary buildings were simply turned off. None occupied them, for they were all too busy at the momentus occasions partaking in the larger buildings. The technological "wub" of Dubstep blared from speakers that lined the walls, placed there normally for emergency situations, but now being abused for simple entertainment. Wasn't that what life was all about, though? Finding happiness, no matter what you had to abuse to do so? Here and there, a light was on in an apartment building. Some people just didn't want to party. Some people had lives. Some people had to get up in the morning.
Some people just plain sucked.
Suddenly, the clock struck three a.m. Every building immediately began to shine with the same color sequence. Red. Orange. Yellow. Green. Blue. Indigo. Violet. The psuedo-rainbow lights came with an abundant roaring. As the celebration carried on, for reasons Akihiko was not aware of, he slowly floated down from the black sky into the vibrant city. He hated this place. He couldn't see a single star for some reason. That was something that seriously ticked him off. But oh well. He had a job to do. Of course, he didn't reall. This was actually his vacation. He only thought he had a job to do.
Shikai wasn't something that just happened. It had to be trained and earned. And if he couldn't master Shikai, he'd never master Bankai. If he couldn't master either, he'd be a worthless Shinigami. Worthless in Life, Worthless in Death. If that happened. Akihiko simply wouldn't be able to live with himself anymore. Finding himself tapping his black sandal-clad, bare foot to the beat of the filth rocking the city, his head bobbed slightly to the beat. He couldn't believe it. He, Akihiko Hideo, was descending from a void of blackness into a city scourged by techno and artificiality.
Just who was he?
Gripping the hilt of Katta tightly, he drew it from his back. He knew who he was. He was Akihiko Hideo, and he was ready to party. Letting the music flow through him, his foot touched the rooftop of a particularly centered building, surrounded on all sides by partying humans. Flowing with the orchestrated noise and light symphony, he began to practice his katas for a simple warm-up. After that, he'd worry about Shikai. First, he just needed to relax.

Devon descended upon the town blaring with the overactive sounds of modern day music if that's what they wanted to call it,he called it meaningless ruckus, the only music to him was the helpless screams of the dieing so that explained a lot.He snarled as he walked along the streets of the dark night just a little bit before 3 AM and walked around the big clock.Lights illuminated the barren night as the sounds of partying idiots filled the area.He quickly began to wait around and he felt a slight Reitsu in a building and this gave him a funny and amusing idea, lets draw it out.He pointed his finger at the building and charged a Cero and watched as the explosion enveloped the area right as the clock struck 3 AM. "This will be a very fun night indeed" he said with a grin and a lick of his lips.
He heard the screams of the weak and helpless and watched as they dashed about in the darkening night filled with unrelenting flames and a light orange glow as everyone began to scurry about the area.Such things amused him greatly as he walked around the destruction cutting peoples throats as he went by though very few resisted which annoyed him and he immediately spotted a man cowering in the corner and scoffed "Pathetic little insect" he picked him up and pointed a finger at his stomach with the trajectory aiming through his stomach and at a house that they had been flocking to and he spoke with a very sadistic tone while smiling "Begone" was all he said as the Bala blew a hole in the man took out three more people and blew up the next house.Destruction,oh what a beautiful thing it was, truly a magnificent thing.Death and Destruction oh such things were truly life's pleasures. He then saw a police car and knew he couldn't let them call for back up so he launched a Bala blowing it sky high.He laughed and continued to walk about.
He still sensed the Shingami in the area and perhaps another coming,at any rate he couldn't allow himself to let anyone leave so he quickly Sonidod to catch the Humans off guard and cut every last one of them to shit and he blew up the last houses with two Balas killing anyone left. The night went quiet as the Shingami came from the ashes to be greeted by Devon Sonidoing behind him and making a stab at his back and a slash at the back of his legs. The man would have to be extremely tough to survive Devons onslaught that was incoming and stupid if he tried to do anything but live to tell the tale as Devon appeared behind him making a slash at his knees ducking low and making a punch at his knee to knock it out of place with a heavy right at his left knee.He then stood up and jumped back licking blood off his lips (didn't say it was yours btw) and smiled and it stretched from what appeared to be ear to ear as he cackled wildly.
His hair was a snow white and somewhat ruffled aside and spiky as the rather fashionable Hollow stood at his full sealed stature at about six foot seven and an easy one hundred seventy pounds of muscle. His posture was that of a brute much like himself and at two thousand four hundred and one years of his slow passing life he knew how to fight his way through various techniques and attacks among other things he had learned in his many years of life.He wore blue jeans and a black t-shirt with a white skull and crossbones on it with the eyes glowing a deep red matching well with his red Ed Hardy Converses that he wore so very often. He had learned many things in his long life but one thing he hadn't was a tolerance for Shingami,he hated them with a passion and couldn't stand the thought of losing to one,he wouldn't stand such a thought.Things could change though, maybe this Shingami would befriend Devon,it was doubtful but possible.Devon grinned and made his approach at the Shingami.

Akihiko's blade flashed in the lifeless sky, illuminated by the everchanging glow of the city's artificial vitae. Distracted from this and from many other things, such as a shinigami being slaid by an arrancar or hollow -Akihiko couldn't tell yet- to his side, the young hopeful was engrossed in the muscle dance of his training. However, after a particularly enthusiastic leap nearly sent him over the top of the building (until he remembered he could fly), Akihiko was brought back into reality faster than a shot of epinephren. There was hollowbreed afoot. Eyes narrowing, Akihiko turned his attention toward the location of the enemy reiatsu he was sensing. Suddenly, he was caught by a wave of semi-nostaligic horror as the echoes of the shinigami's final reiatsu particles hit him. He was panged with guilt and despair. Alderan was dead. But who would tell the princess?
"Hey, Heartless... What are you doing around here? Why aren't you at home or something, playing with your kids? Don't you think that would have been a lot smarter and safer than venturing inteo enemy territory?" Stopping for a moment and taking in a breath, Akihiko brought himself up to full height before the Hollow, having shunpo'd toward it to avoid the hassle of flying. Raising his sword to his shoulder and resting the katana's blade across his black, he continued speaking. "Like, why even bother? Granted, you're pretty powerful, and I can tell this not just because the remains of someone I went to school with is floating to the city floors like a silting of acidic horror?" Sighing, Akihiko Hideo lowered his head. shaking it with a disappointed huff.
"Forget the fact that we're supposed to hate each other because we're the same race... when I see something like that, it by-passes racial descrimination. Now it's personal. Now I have to fight you, to avenge someone I genuinely cared about. Why'd you gotta do it? If you're strong enouugh to remain here, why not be smart enough to maintain it?" Looking up back at him, Akihiko slowly smirked. "But, oh well. You weren't. Now I get to fight you, and kill you, and avenge someone I genuinely cared about." Raising his sword high up into the air, Akihiko held it perfectly straight toward his opponent. "Thank you... for giving me a reason to do what I love to do." Murder flashed across his jade-eyes, twinkling like jeweled incarnations of justice. But of course, only a fool rushed someone who was clearly of greater strength than he.

Devon simply laughed at the man as he questioned him "Your in no position to be questioning me Shingami, and you won't be able to once I cut out that rancid tongue of yours and slit your throat and as for children I have none and the very reason I am entering enemy territory is because it is enemy territory, why isn't it obvious,?I plan to destroy it and every last person in the nearby vicinity and guess what, that includes you". A grin formed upon Devon's lips as he continued to listen to the man ramble on about everything but what mattered,"I could care less about that man floating to the ground I could care less about him, whether that man was your classmate or not I could also care less, but you are correct I am a lot stronger than you". He grinned as the man shook his head and simply could not stand the fact that the man thought he stood a chance and was acting superior.Devon knew the man stood not a chance in hell which even the man knew,he stated he knew, why in the hell was he acting like he could raise a finger to Devon and keep his head on his shoulders. This dumb ass would die.
Devon smiled ear to ear as he heard what the man had to say about forgetting about race and the hatred they are supposed to share for each other and he shook his head and put up his hand "No stop there,do not let go of the hate we share for each other do to race, let it drive you,let the hate will you on,can't you feel it,I killed your friend hate me try to kill me,it will make your death so much more satisfying for me". The man tried to act tough and say how he would avenge someone he cared about and kill him and Ika just shook his head and sighed as if he had not a care in the world "Oh you think murder is the solution,I like that unfortunately false bravado gets you killed kid and your barely able to keep yourself in control, its not smart being around someone stronger than you that wants to kill you, much less one that wants to kill you,but asking him to fight you, that's having a death wish". He looked upon the carnage before him as the smile faded from his lips then reappeared if only a bit smaller as he whispered under his breathe "Get ready to die foolish Shingami and may hells gates be open to welcome you".
A look of blood lust was in the mans eyes before him, nothing Devon had not seen before though,it was actually quite pathetic in comparison to most of the looks he had seen,he was not ready for battle and he would not have the chance to be.Like a ghost,Devon appeared behind the man using Sonido, then he launched a stab at the mans stomach and a kick at his stomach as well.He then launched a Cero to catch him in case he had fallen back or been knocked back by any of the attacks, that is assuming after all,he was the luckiest son of a bitch to ever walk which was obviously not true,he had just met Devon after all and Devon was in a very pissy mood and not about let some Shingami talk to him as if he were actually stronger, even capable of killing Devon,oh hell no,that mistake would cost him his life. The night sky resumed upon the evening no one daring to descend into the night besides the foolish Shingami before him as the sky burned and reflected the orange colored flames flickering about.Such a foul image it was to behold as the dead bodies piled the streets and houses burnt down, the place looked like a bomb site, destruction was the only thing left in Devon's wake and would continue to be the only thing. This man would not survive, not while Devon was still breathing and he had no plans of stopping soon which meant this guy was just shit out of luck. The only thing awaiting this man was death.
