The First Patrol [Open]
Sat Mar 31, 2012 5:01 pm
Eon looked at the two men guarding the Senkaimon. They looked strange in their outfits. Their faces nearly completely covered and their clothes looking like they were too big for them. The Kidō Corps seemed very weird to Eon. Though, he was one to talk. He didn't wear the normal Shinigami uniform whenever he wasn't needed to wear it. Like now, with just being on patrol for the first time now that he was in his new squad, Division Eleven, Eon was wearing his normal clothes. They consisted of two one hundred pound weights, one on each shoulder, and different layers of robes with a shirt and jeans underneath. They hindered his movement a bit and slowed him down, making him at a disadvantage if he got in a fight. That was just as he wanted it. He moved his hair from his eyes and stepped up to the men.
"Eon Shikimori of Division Eleven reporting for patrol duty in the wastelands," he said, speaking to them in a formal tone as was customary. They pulled out a clipboard and checked it. They whispered to one another before nodding and turned to open the Senkaimon. Eon watched for a moment as they performed what was necessary for it to open. The Senkaimon was something that Eon didn't think he would ever truly understand. But it wasn't his job to understand it so he didn't put much thought into it.
When the Senkaimon was finally open the Shinigami stepped to either side and allowed Eon passage. He kept his face emotionless and his breathing calm, but he was slightly nervous. This would be his first time back in the human world in many, many years. He casually strode up to the entrance and stepped into the Dangai. His eyes had to adjust at first before he could see in the dim light that the Dangai always presented. He knew there was nothing going to attack him, but he couldn't help but feel on edge. Gripping his Zanpakutō's hilt, Eon started forward down the seemingly endless dimension.
It didn't take long for Eon to come to the exit. He stepped out and was swallowed up by light. Before his eyes could readjust the first thing that hit him was the heat. Being in so many clothes was going to be a very bad thing for him. Though, he wouldn't take his clothes off. No, he would count this as a type of endurance training. He would need to be able to take anything the world had for him. Including the natural heat and cold of the world. He took a few heavy breaths as he walked completely out of the Senkaimon and it closed behind him, leaving him seemingly alone.

Kuro slowly opened an eye, feeling something. He was sitting on a rock, his zanpaktou at his right side. He looked up slowly, feeling a sharp breeze blowing back his dark black hair, moving it out of the way of his eyes as he looked up. His eyes were clear... if a bit tired looking. On his forehead, however, there was something strange. It was... a black star. Almost as if it was a tattoo on his face, very strange on the Vice Captain of Squad One. He opened his other eye as well, seeing the man that was now standing right in front of him.
"It's about time you got here. In the time that I've been waiting..." He put one hand up to his forehead, where the star was, wincing slightly, closing his eyes, before quickly righting himself, lookign back up at his charge, getting off the rock and standing up on his own two feet. " The name is Kuro Okami, Vice Captain of Squad One. I'm here to help you work on obtaining your shikai. Now, are you ready? The key to releasing a person's shikai..." He vanished, his shunpo making him blur as he reappeared behind Eon, placing a hand on the shinigami's shoulder. "Is pressure." As he spoke, his right foot curved out as he descended, making a sweep at the man's legs, vanishing once more.
He reappeared five feet away form where he had been standing, his left hand gripping his zanpaktou as he pulled on it, releasing his left hand and grabbing it with his waiting right. He took a large step forwards, releasing a burst of reiatsu as he flew at his opponent, bringing the blade down. He jumped back a foot, coming back with a diagonal slash aimed from Eon's right shoulder to left hip, spinning as he did so and making another slash at the stomach. He regained stability on his left foot as he jumped away once more, before vanishing again.
He reappeared standing on top of the rock, a finger pointed at his opponent. "Hadō 4, Byakurai!" He excalimed, the bolt of lighting firing from his fingertip at his opponent. It wasn't very strong at all, merely moving at an extremely rapid pace due to its small size. From there, Kuro leapt to the ground, lowering his body weight as he bent his neck upwards, looking up at his opponent as he pushed both legs down, feeling in his muscles the force he was exerting as he flew at his opponent. As he did so, he swung the sword back, gripping it in his right hand as he grasped over it with his left.
As he reached Eon, he brought the blade upwards, turning it horizontally with both hands as he did so. This created a sweeping motion as gravity fought the blade, making it more of a smashing motion, and if Eon blocked it with his sword, he would be thrown up into the air. Kuro then followed with a leap, turning the blade in his hand as his left lowered back down to his side. A small smile was on his face as he tore the sword downwards, as hard as he could, aiming right for Eon's left shoulder. However, he had one more thing up his sleeve. He brought his left hand forwards, trying to push onto the right side of Eon's chest.
"Bakudo number 1: Sho!"
He cried out as from the hand fired out a blast of reiatsu, attempting to blow away Eon, leaving Kuro standing where he was alone. "Alright! Is that enough of a warm up for you? I warn you now, I can be a bit impatient at times, but I'll see to it that we definitely succeed here!" He declared, blinking as he did so, surprised at the force in his voice. No... a year ago, no way I would be like this. No way at all. He decided, the thought bringing a very real smile onto the shinigami's face as he looked at his opponent, waiting to see what his reaction would be, eager to continue their little sparring session...

Eon froze as he saw the Shinigami waiting for him. What the hell? he thought as he watched the Vice Captain. He had no idea someone would be out there today. Was this some kind of trick? Was someone pulling a prank on him? Why would a Vice Captain from Division One come out and help him obtain Shikai? In this place of all places. Eon didn't have enough time to realize what the Vice Captain said until it was too late. He disappeared and then something smashed into Eon's legs from behind. "What the!" he yelled as he fell sideways.
Just before smacking into the ground Eon caught himself on his hands and turned his motion into a cartwheel. He managed to get his body into a vertical position, making it a hand stand, when he noticed the man reappearing and rushing forward with his Zanpakutō. Eon didn't have much time to respond so he finished the cartwheel, avoiding the man's innitial strike and jumped backwards, evading the next slash while the man did a spin. Though the diagonal slash missed, the final strike caught the multiple robes and slashed through. If Eon hadn't had the extra clothing on the man would have cut straight into his stomach. Eon was lucky.
He steadied himself and ripped off the rest of the shirt quickly while he tried figuring out what he shoulder do. He saw the man known as Kuro on a rock and heard the incantation ringing out. Eon new this would be difficult to evade and wasn't sure what the man had up his sleeve next so he decided to do the unpredictable. He grabbed the stones that were attached to his shoulder and tossed them in front of him just as the Hadō was released and a burst of electricity streamed from the man's fingers. The two met in midair and exploded, sending up a cloud of dust. But just before they did Eon spotted the man getting down on the ground in a charging position.
Eon knew the man was trying to keep him off balance, but now Eon would be able to get on the surprise. He grabbed his Zanpakutō and lunged through the smoke as soon as the man lunged. His Zanpakutō was held in his left hand and came down to meet the man's Zanpakutō with a quick parry. Meanwhile, with hopefully a quick surprise, he held his right fist down to his side. Eon parried with all the strength he had and kept them at bay for just a second. In a split second Eon swung out with a punch toward the man's closest body part, his face.
Eon was confident that his attack would be strong enough to send the man staggering back at least due to Eon's strength being his best physical trait. After the punch he used Shunpo to appear behind the man just a few feet hoping to catch a swift downward kick to the man's abdomen and slam him into the ground before using Shunpo once again to appear on the very rock the man had shot the Hadō from.

Kuro widened his eyes slightly; he hadn't been expecting the man to be wearing so much clothing. He watched as the hand struck out towards his face, closing his eyes tightly. He gave a grunt as he felt the blow connect... right between the star and his eye. He held his arms staunchly to his sides as he opened his right eye, his left having blood pouring down it. He saw as the man appeared above him, throwing his left arm up to defend himself to some extent. He felt as the foot slammed into him, knocking him heavily into the ground. What in the...? My body.. it won't... respond...? He could only stare up at the sky as on his face, the bruise that he had experienced, the blood that poured down his skull, dripping over his eye, the blood began to change.
It slowly began to spread, covering over both eyes. What in the hell...? He thought to himself, as his other eye became covered over in blood, his left arm laying on his stomach, his blade and right arm at his side. Stupid one!An intense, joking laugh went through his mind as his breathing suddenly became rapid, feeling extremely strange. One does not simply wander the wastelands while training without side-effects! In fact, you would have noticed sooner, if you had merely looked at your own head! The voice mocked him, as he found himself able to stand up, coughing out a mound of blood into his own lap. The blood landed on his left arm, which he still could not move. I've taken residence in your left arm. I am the Joking Gray, Midare Piero! However, you can merely call me Piero, dear stupid host! While you were resting before arriving, I stumbled upon you. You see, my previous host had just passed... and look! There you were, all snug as a bug! So, I stole upon you, entering onto you via that star on your forehead~ And now, your left arm is mine! So, if you don't mind, I'll be borrowing you for a while!
Kuro couldn't so much as speak as he heard this voice going through him, leaving a shocked expression on his face, his mouth agape, as the blood on his face slowly began to transform. It created two holes for his eyes, ending on the tip of the bridge of his nose, folding over it like a theater mask. Behind the mask, Kuro could see what was happening, feeling his own body stand up. He glanced upwards, his eyes widening as he spotted his hair. Very, very slowly, it was beginning to turn white, from the tips of it, spreading down to its roots. He glanced to the left, his eyes shuddering slightly as he saw that his left arm... was shrouded in a strange black energy, creating very long claw-like fingers of black energy, like shadow, flexing back and forth.
He Has Emerged...
Piero gave a hearty laugh through Kuro's mouth, holding his left clawed hand out before himself and his blade in his right at his side. He then put a bemused look onto Kuro's face as he realized something, although the transformation was complete. He realized... He couldn't see DARNIT, OKAMI, GIVE ME YOUR EYESIGHT! The beast roared in Kuro's mind. NOT HAPPENING! IF YOU WANT TO FIGHT, YOU'VE GOT TO DO IT WITH ME! Came the now white-haired boy's response. Mf... ngrghhhhhhhhhhhhh.... FINE! Piero replied, linking his control with Kuro's. Alright Kuro thought to himself. He was completely weirded out, although he was adapting to the situation quite well for someone who had just had this sprung upon him unexpectedly. I'll be in charge of walking, let me maneuver with that, or else this will never work. He said solemnly, already feeling wobbly with his legs. Oh, very well. Came the strange spirit's response, Kuro beginning to feel firmer on his legs.
He looked at Eon, smiling. "Sorry about this, I've got WAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!" Piero interruped him, briefly making Kuro's very voice change. "Something Wahshdiasf up with asoifdj." He said, frowning. LET ME HAVE MY VOICE! He yelled at the spirit, exasperated. Oh very well. That was fun, though.
"Something, I'm still not entirely sure- I'M A SPIRIT IN HIS BODY- thank you Piero, yes, something has apparently gotten into me. I'm not sure what, or what the repercussions might be, but I would appreciate it if you could help me find out exactly what this is." He finished, feeling as his arms were moving in circles, feeling that Piero was most likely getting restless. "However, I will not continue unless you are fine with it. Does that sound alright to you?" He asked simply, his eyes looking at the man he was facing. His tone was sincere, and he was pretty sure the man would agree. After all, it would give them both some experience, as well as seeing what this foreign form could do...

He sheathed his Zanpakutō and faced the Vice Captain. Eon held out his right hand straight at the Vice Captain, his palm pointing forward with his fingers pointing at the sky. His left and was down at waist level, held parallel to the ground, palm pointed down. He was waiting for the next move, going on the defensive. But then his hardened expression changed to a look of complexion. Blood was coming from the Vice Captain much faster than Eon would have thought. Surely he didn't hit him that hard. He began to think that this could be just another trick.
He waited for a moment, watching the strange seen in front of him. He stopped himself from checking on the Vice Captain just as he got to his feet. "Lieutenant Kuro? Are you alright?" asked Eon in a concerned tone as the Vice Captain coughed up blood. Though he didn't seem to hear Eon. What was going on? He waasn't sure what he was seeing before him as things began to change, but he knew this wouldn't be good. He watched the changes of Kuro's body and was getting a very bad feeling about this.
When the arm changed he decided this was going to be dangerous. He needed to call in to the Seireitei and figure out what to do. But he didn't have his soul phone. It was somewhere in his clothes. If he could just reach it he would be able to call in some backup. He put one foot forward, preparing to shunpo to his clothing when Kuro began to laugh.
Then he seemed unhappy for a second. Eon wasn't sure what to make of all this till Kuro spoke, though partially not in his own voice. Something had happened to him and he still wanted to continue, but only if Eon wanted to continue. He wondered how it would look on him if he denied a fight like this. He figured his higher ups would scold and punish him. Or maybe just beat the crap out of him for it. If he fought he might gain more respect. So that's what he chose.
"If you are sure, then we can continue. But if you end up losing too much control then I may have to call in to the Soul Society. I have never seen this before and I am not sure what it could do to you," he said, showing concern for the Vice Captain's health even though they had really just met.

He Has Emerged...
Piero laughed slightly through Kuro's voice, his tone high pitched and seeming mocking. However, Kuro soon regained control of his voice box as he looked at his opponent. "Alright then. Get ready, because here we come!!!" He said with a determination as he began to run at his opponent. He felt as Piero focused his arms at the opponent before them, Kuro vanishing as he performed a shunpo to behind his opponent. His left arm shot out, Kuro feeling a strange sensation as the arm STRETCHED, the claws pointing and jabbing at the shinigami's right shoulder. However, it stopped right before it would have connected, Kuro seizing control of it, beginning to learn how to forcefully stop Piero. NO! DON'T SERIOUSLY HURT HIM! He roared in his mind, before he felt Piero answer him. FINE! The Joking Gray replied, shooting back the arm as Kuro backstepped.
Then he took the step back forwards, cutting down with his zanpaktou. He felt strange as an energy he had not felt the likes of before began to surge through his body as his movements increased in their speed. He was slashing to the left, at the man's rib cage, then right, his blade even with the shoulders. He took a step back as he jabbed, the shot going for Eon's stomach as Kuro brought around the left arm, trying to slam it into Eon's side. He took a step over to where Eon had been standing, as his hand had been large enough and with a strange amount of force that it should have at least moved back the shinigami a bit. Kuro refaced him, before his sword shot out in an upwards slash. However, just as it began to go up, he suddenly lurched back, his legs no longer following his orders. He fought the pull, ending up skidding on his back, rolling in the dirt, getting his black shinigami robes covered in sand as he did so, causing him to cough as it got in his mouth. I SAID I GOT THE LEGS! He cried in his mind as Piero fought him for control over his lower appendages. BUT YOU'RE DOING IT ALL WRONG! Came the reply in a whiny voice.
After a few moments of struggling, Kuro finally managed to rise to his feet. If Eon struck him in a place other than his vital spots during his distraction, he would most certainly feel the damage. If he DID aim for a vital spot, Piero would have taken control, throwing Kuro bodily through the left arm to the side. Kuro regained control over his legs, moving his knees out a bit as he pressed down on his legs, appearing behind Eon once more. "BETTER LOOK OUT!" He cried out as Piero threw down the left arm, trying to grab Eon's left shoulder with the giant appendage. As he did so, Kuro brought up the right arm, trying to stab into an area right under the back of the ribcage, attempting to hit a spot that lacked vital organs. Regardless of whether the move hit or not, Kuro pulled out the blade, moving it to his right side as he leapt back, his feet skidding in the sand as he came to a stop. If there had been blood on the blade, it would have been cleaned off by the swiping of the blade to the side.
Kuro was breathing quite heavily by this point: After all, he wasn't used to fighting like this, and it felt like it was gobbling up a good amount of his energy just by being in battle. Plus, fighting with Piero over control wasn't a very pleasant experience, as he could feel the Joking Gray attempting to access his conscious and see through his eyes, as well as controlling his body. However, Kuro knew that as long as he didn't come under any severe mental strain, he should be able to keep out the spirit, especially if he had taken damage, as he would be able to use the pain as a barrier of sorts against the thing inside of him. His eyes went back up to where Eon was, to see what his response was. His arms were held at his sides, at the ready to respond, held evenly at his waist as he waited to see what his opponent would do.
Piero, I have just one question for you. Kuro told the spirit, asking it directly. What is it? The beast replied within him. How is that hand at holding a dagger...?

Eon tensed as the man laughed again in that other voice. He wasn't sure what the hell he was getting himself into. Eon nodded as the man told him to get ready and watched him closely. He started running forward and then disappeared. Same old trick as before. Eon already knew how to counter this. He drew his Zanpakutō and jumped forward, turning in midair to counter any sword swings. However, he was caught by surprise when the new arm actually 'stretched' out and nearly hit Eon. He never expected that and cursed at himself for letting him get surprised. Luckily the man stopped the arm and retracted it just before it could hit. Eon came to a sliding stop and held his Zanpakutō in his right hand.
Eon brought up his Zanpakutō to stop the initial downward strike, the two Zanpakutō sparking as they met. He then followed the motion of Kuro's Zanpakutō and blocked the strike to his ribs. However, he wasn't able to adjust himself in time and was only able to push the blade away slightly, though his shoulder still got a pretty good gash through it. Eon bit his lip, attempting to ignore the pain. He watched the Zanpakutō get drawn back, a sign Eon new all to well. He wasn't going to be able to parry so instead he spun to the side and held up his Zanpakutō just as the hand struck out. The hand hit the flat of his blade and pushed Eon backwards.
Panting, Eon jumped backwards to avoid the upward slash. He realized he didn't have to do that since Kuro seemed to stop himself once more. Eon took this time to rest and check his wound as Kuro seemed to be fighting with himself again. The wound wasn't too bad. He could still fight and even use the arm, though he would have to try not to strain it too much. Other than that he was just fine, though worn out. He could feel the muscles in his body burning. He had to stop this soon or else he wouldn't be able to defend himself any longer.
That was it. He had been playing defense this entire time. He needed to start some offense. He was learning this man's fighting style and could already see what he needed to do. All he had to do was wait for the right moment. He nodded at himself as the man began to stand and prepare for something Eon had seen him do plenty of times.
Just as Eon predicted, the man disappeared. Eon decided to take that time and do a shunpo of his own. Just as the man appeared, Eon disappeared from using shunpo. He came out by the side of the outstretched arm and sliced downward while it was still stretching out. Whether or not it hit in that single moment, Eon used shunpo once more to appear behind Kuro.
Without waiting for Kuro's reaction, Eon thrust his Zanpakutō down toward the back of Kuro's legs to hinder his movements and make him incapable of using shunpo anymore and followed it by reaching underneath his arms and attempting to grapple with him from behind, locking his arms in place and holding his head down so he would be nearly incapable of moving. Eon poured all his strength into his arms hoping to hold the man there and even added to it by kicking out at the man's uninjured leg in an attempt to either bring him down to his knees or break the leg. A minor wound that the healing squad could easily fix.

He Has Emerged...
Kuro was a bit surprised that the man hadn't used his opportunity; however, it seemed that he had made a hit after all. It seems he is finally beginning to understand how Shunpo works… The thought ran through his mind as his claw had struck out, before seeing Eon vanish. However, what surprised him more was Eon reappearing next to his clawed arm. He widened his eyes as the blade cut down on the arm, wincing as he felt the brutal cut rip through his mind. ON his arm, it left a gigantic gouge in the blacked flesh; distracting Kuro-
You idiot. I'll take the pain, it's my arm. Piero said to him shortly as Kuro felt the arm go completely limp, watching Eon continue to move. Well crap. He brought the blade up, suddenly becoming overcome with a feel on nausea, his entire vision swimming. He could feel as Eon knocked him down, and pressed down onto his back, feeling a burning feeling in his legs as he realized there was a gash on one and a bruise on the other. You stupid host… The voice came to him as he began to wonder what exactly was happening. You got pinned down, as I'm working with your body. Give me a minute. Piero told him shortly, Kuro opening a single eye to see through the mask he was wearing at the arm that was laid out before his eyes. His eyes opened halfway, and then all the way, his mouth shortly becoming agape as he watched what was happening on his arm, feeling something strange going on in the sword held in his right hand.
And then, Kuro heard something speaking through his voice. It was extremely deep in tone, but almost.. Warped-sounding. Over all, it did not sound good.
"Shikai-Form Shadow Gray, Release the Joking Shadow!"
Kuro's body simply… vanished, as if with a flash-step, but with an extreme force. He reappeared a small distance away from Eon, his entire body covered in a gray light. Slowly, the light began to dissipate, revealing his new form. The claw had returned to a hand of just-above average size, held relaxed at his side, even with his other arm. Around his neck appeared a hood of sorts, fur all around its rim, completely gray in color. On his body was the extension of the hood: a very long, flowing cape, that went down from his neck to past his feet, the energy he was now holding up the edge of it, as if a constant wind were in motion. In either hand, he held black daggers, with quite sharp points and ebony finishes. The mask remained on his face, still plain in view, even more now as it and his right arm were the only skin showing. The gash on his left arm remained, but it was smaller now, as if the arm had proportionately shrunk. This new form of Kuro and Piero looked up at Eon, speaking at last in the same voice that had spoken before.
"You're not sure who I am, are you? I am Kuro Okami, a vice-captain. Do not forget that, or you will not be able to measure the speed at which I will press your being into the dirt." However, it was not Kuro that was in control; HE was asleep, within his own mind, Piero having taken full control over the body in this form. Piero had simultaneously activated his shikai, in addition to his first form of power. Indeed, the one that he had been staying in before was his natural maintenance, whereas this was his first level of power with Kuro's shikai. Piero was a bit disappointed that there was not a bankai within his host, but he could tell from the man's memories that he was most likely getting there. Piero reached up to his face, grabbing one edge of the mask as he lifted it up, revealing that the pupil was completely black as he stuck out Kuro's tongue.
"WWAHAHAHAHAH! Actually, Master Kuro seems to be taking a bit of a nap. Maybe if you hadn't taken him down like he was a criminal, I wouldn't have been able to go into this form. But did you HONESTLY think it would be that easy? I've been watching you as you fight; you've got zip, nada, other than your Zanjutsu and Hakuda." He said mockingly, his lips moving quickly as the words poured from his lips. He looked around himself, turning his head to side to side, as the eye lowered to halfway closed, Kuro's mouth slightly open. "… There's no shadows here. Master Kuro.. You are utterly… RETARDED!" He yelled, cackling through Kuro's mouth once more as he grabbed back onto the mask, pulling it down onto his nose, looking back over at Eon.
"It would seem that I am quite limited as well… However, this one, at the very least, has some level of Kidō. Although, since he's kinda sleeping, and I'm not used to those, I think I'll leave them be. Come, we have a bit more fun to be had before we are done for today!" The Joking Gray called out, running full force at Eon. He threw down his right foot, hard, Piero completely ignoring the signals of pain that this would be sending Kuro, the daggers flashing. The left moved across Eon's stomach in a slash as the right flashed out, the blade swining right for his sparring partner's skull. As this was done, the left dagger with a force from the black arm shot directly forwards, aiming to pierce right through the stomach. As THIS happened, the right dagger swung around, trying to slash down from his right shoulder to left side, returning the dagger to Piero's side as the Joking Gray took some steps back.
As he touched down one last time, roughly five feet away, he vanished once more. He reappeared behind Eon, raising the daggers above his head, a wide smile on his face as he spoke. "YOU LOSE!" He said mockingly, vanishing again to in front of him. He brought both daggers down, touching his feet down as he swung both daggers downwards, feeling the small THUMP as the daggers hit the sand. Piero brought back up the daggers, leaping back one more time as his cloak flowed behind him, landing on both feet, on the same rock that Kuro had first found Eon on. Piero was intending to have at least a SMALL amount of fun with this shinigami, and if even this was all he got, then he was satisfied.
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

Eon's arms went up to interlock behind Kuro's head, but then suddenly Kuro was gone and Eon was left groping at empty air. He cursed under his breath and grabbed his Zanpakutō from the ground quickly, looking around for him. Though, it was easy to find him. Kuro's body was giving off a gray light that stood out on this barren landscape. His body changing till he was completely different. Fuck... What the hell is going on now? wondered Eon as he held up his Zanpakutō, unsure of what to do at the moment. This was much more than he had expected. His body was exhausted and his right arm was starting to throb. He bit his lip and did his best to ignore the pain.
He watched carefully as he spoke. He sounded just as he had lately, but his speech was a bit different. It was a little more violent. Eon didn't know if it really was Kuro speaking at first. If this really was Kuro, well, he was afraid of what this thing had done to him. Whatever this power was, it wasn't normal. At least, not to Eon. He tried to calm his ragged breathing as he tried figuring out what was going on now.
Eye's widening slightly, combing to the pain showing on his face, Eon's thoughts had become answered by the creature that stood before him. Kuro was no longer in control, instead this thing was. And worst of all, it was apparently Eon's fault. No... No! It can't be... Not again.. Had he really caused another person's life be taken from them? Was this really his fault? He wasn't sure what to think of this. But he had done this. He had struck Kuro down and probably caused a gap in Kuro's subconscious that allowed this... thing... to be released. If that was so, then it was ALL his fault.
"No..." he muttered in a low voice, unsure of what to do now. Though, he didn't have much time to think of what he could do to save Kuro. The creature that had taken over Kuro's body rushed forward and slashed out with one of the daggers. Eon went to block the attack with his Zanpakutō, but a pain shot through his right shoulder and his Zanpakutō was knocked out of his hands and behind him a bit. Eon only had a split second to react. He held up his arms and crouched low, protecting his head, chest, and stomach with his hands, arms, and knees. The blades slashed across him and through him back, though he somehow manged to stay on his feet.
His arms and legs bloody, Eon could feel himself weakening. He wasn't able to protect himself. Eon turned as the creature within Kuro appeared behind him and feinted. He barely had time to react as Kuro disappeared agian and reappared in front of Eon. This guy was getting too fast. Eon couldn't keep up in her current state. If this creature wanted to end this, he could have. But for some reason he chose not to.
With the creature now away and back on the rock, Eon's legs gave out beneath him and he collapsed. Breathing hard he wasn't sure how he could survive this. He had caused Kuro to lose his free will to this creature. It had been all his fault and he didn't have the power to help him. He needed to help Kuro, but how? He wouldn't be able to get in a good hit. He wouldn't be able to do much of anything in his current state. He needed power, he needed a way to help the Vice Captain.
He spotted his Zanpakutō just a few feet away. He reached out, touching it with his palm. He closed his eyes and made a silent prayer, Please... Help me... He needed the power to help Kuro. He needed something he could do to help. If he did have an spirit within his Zanpakutō, he hoped it would answer his call.
Your cause is a noble one. I will give you what help I can... Now, take this... A voice sounded inside Eon's head. At first he thought it was just himself hallucinating from blood loss. But then he felt the power from it. He heard the voice say a name. "Shred... Tentai no... Buredo-ha!" said Eon, muttering the first few words and yelling out the last.
Suddenly his Zanpakutō began to glow a bright golden yellow and then seemed to break up completely, blade and hilt all at once. Though, they broke in a certain pattern and the pieces began to grow in size. Eon got to his feet and was enveloped in the golden light. Small silver shapes floated around the edges of the light that enveloped Eon. There were hundreds of them and they seemed to reflect the light out, creating a disco-like effect.
Then the shapes stopped and the light thinned out till each blade held a certain strand of brightly lit light attached to it. The light then thinned even more and seemed to disappear in the bright light of the day. The blades then rushed to Eon's body.
Two hundred coated around each of Eon's forearm, covering them entirely while traveling along the top of his hand and fingers. Part of the two hundred made a bracer type patch of blades on his bicep, covering it from shoulder to elbow on the outside of his arm. The parts on his arm were curved up toward the sky, overlapping each other like scales. The ones on the top of his hand curved out toward his fingers and ended in sharp points a little past his nails.
Two hundred blades also attached to Eon's upper back, coating it from the back of his neck down to the bottom of his ribs from behind. They had the same overlapping scale pattern as the ones on his arms, and seemed to curve down toward the ground. They almost looked like a protective shell on his back.
The final two hundred attached themselves to his legs, one hundred on each, and started at his knee caps with an upward curve all the way down to his ankles. Once the blades hit his feet they curved out toward the toes, creating another form of claws on his feet.
Eon's shikai was completely formed. All eight hundred spikes were in place and suddenly he felt a little more energized. His bleeding was slowing and his breathing had become slightly calmer, though his body was still tired. He knew his Zanpakutō spirit was helping Eon maintain his body so he could fight to rescue Kuro from what Eon had caused. With this new power, Eon would help Kuro regain control of his body.
Eon smiled and looked down at his body. He then looked up at the creature that had replaced Kuro and laughed. "I lose, eh? No... I don't think so... I think I'm just.. getting.. started." Eon smirked and prepared for a new onslaught. He had surprised them twice. Once more was all he needed.

Piero frowned as he watched the man go down, unsatisfied. I came to play with him and have some fun! If this is really all he can do then...
"Oh look, little baby's reaching for his-" His words became cut off as he saw what the man was doing, hearing him shout out loudly.
Piero cackled as he watched his opponent begin to change, clapping his hands and jumping back and forth on one leg, crying out "What fun! What fun!" Like a lunatic that had gotten into Kuro's mind, making it look like the Vice Captain was quite insane. The daggers that he held splashed the blood they had just taken from their target onto Kuro's chest and shoulder area, the daggers held within the monstrosity's fingertips. His face was quite elated as he watched the transformation, and gave a broad smile before speaking, the process done.
"Nice. However, what are you supposed to be? A porcupine or somethin'? You've got spikes all over your back, leaving your underbelly unprotected. Kid, I've been at this for close to 4 thousand years. You get to learn general strategies and weaknesses of things through nature when you've lived this long, AWAHAHAHAHA!"
He finished, having revealed his true age as he held both hands to the sides, above his shoulder height, the elbows bent, as he laughed shrilly. He was enjoying this throughly, vanishing and reappearing directly in front of the larger man, Kuro's teenager-like body reappearing directly under the much, much larger man's front, holding himself in almost like a ball, merely to help him maneuver.
Both daggers flashed up, trying to pierce the skin of the man's chest as Piero gave another shrill laugh. He brought back the daggers again, throwing them out to either side as he spun around, slashing at the chest area once more, before taking a step back. He performed a slash with his right hand, the blade aimed from Eon's right shoulder blade to left hip. However, as he brought it down, the left dagger shot out as well, underneath the first dagger, going unexpectedly right for his stomach. This also stopped the right dagger somewhere around Eon's scapula area, and Piero had Kuro's face smile once more as he pulled the dagger to the side, trying to make another rip in the man's skin.
As his right arm extnded all the way to his side, he leaped back, landing on both feet. Hmm… Oh, Kuro, what's this? He asked shortly to the sleeping shinigami within the mind, causing Kuro to stir slightly. However, he could not awaken, and Piero gathered his own energy. He thrust his left arm before him, moving his right hand downwards. He released the dagger, gripping it in his other hand as he pointed the left, blackened palm at his opponent.
"GRAY SHADOW SHOT!" He cried out, the hand glowing a bright gray as a large blast of energy fired out. 10 feet in diameter, it obliterated the rock they had been jumping back and forth on as it flew at Eon. It wasn't extremely fast, but it was still moving a good 70 mph.
After the blast, Piero was laughing once more, before he fell to the ground, his legs giving out. He threw down both arms, trying to support himself as he coughed up blood, as his left arm screamed at him with signals of pain and protest, the huge toll of what he had been doing to Kuro's body as well as using such a large amount of power in a limb that had no experience with it causing the injury it already had to feel as it was filled with liquid magma. The left arm gave out, leaving Piero with only the right arm holding up the body as his face grew closer and closer to the ground. Well, this was worthless… He thought to himself in Kuro's mind, feeling a strange pull as he simply… stopped sensing through Kuro.
~Within Kuro's Mind: Optional to read, skip to bottom for continuation~
Piero looked around him, feeling that he was back where he had been before. The Joking Gray looked at Kuro, who was asleep in a futon mattress within the area that his subconscious had created. Piero walked up to him, kicking him. "OI!" He shouted loudly, Kuro rolling on the ground as he slowly began to stir. "GET UP, YOU STUPID HOST! OTHERWISE, YOU'LL WAKE UP FULL OF SPIKES!" The spirit shouted, as Kuro began to awaken. He looked up at Piero, a questioning look in his eyes as he realized that this meant no one was currently running his body, both beings that could do so within his mind. "Piero… what…?" He asked slowly, looking at the spirit.
"You're body is too weak! I tried to pull of that Shadow Shot thing-"
"...You fired it without so much as charging, didn't you?" Kuro said bluntly, blinking, cutting off Piero's sentence.
"...IT SHOULDN'T NEED CHARGING! ESPECIALLY WITH MY ENERGY ADDED! I SWEAR TO APPLES, I'M GOING TO WHIP YOU INTO A PROPER HOST IF WE GET OUT OF THIS MESS!"
Kuro merely blinked again, before looking down. The body he was inhabiting within his mind was beginning to disappear, going up from his feet. He looked up at Piero once more, the disapation up to his hands. "Alright… I guess, Piero. Just… Don't do that again." He said, his mouth, nose, staring eyes, and finally his head dissipating. That left Piero standing there, sighing, as he began to further examine Kuro's memories…
~Return to the battle~
Kuro opened his eyes, finding himself on the ground. He examined himself, finding only his right arm able to support his weight. He pushed down on it, hard, plopping down on his behind. As he did so, the theater mask on his face dropped off, falling onto the space below his hood on his neck. This left the white-haired Kuro, blinking and surprised, both eyes white once more.
He looked around himself, his left arm limp at his side and his legs under his behind. He spotted Eon, and smiled, speaking.
"YOU DID IT! NICE! See, I TOLD YA that pressure could do it!" He said brightly, his eyebrows raising up as a smile crossed his face, a much cheerier seeming fellow than the one who Eon had met when he first entered this place. "Ah, now, could you possibly help me stand up…? It would seem that Piero has spent my body, and now that the job's done, I don't have to be so serious." He said, with still a small grin on his face. In all honesty, Kuro was indeed a cheery fellow. Just looking at this man reminded him as himself… and that thought made him laugh out loud, reaching to his neck, his cloak all around his body, as he picked up the mask.
He held it before his face, tapping it with the pointer finger of his right hand, the same hand that held it. He had the feeling that this was permanent, or did, until he began to feel the cloak around his body begin to dissipate. The mask soon followed, vanishing away in a mist of energy in his hand. However, he felt the arm stayed the same, and was slightly relieved: he could feel it still able to stretch, but at least this one looked human. He looked around himself again, spotting his zanpaktou, snapping his fingers at them.
The daggers did the same thing as the mask turning into an energy. However, this energy rushed back to Kuro, and into the sheathe that was now visible once more, which had been covered by the cloak. Kuro sighed, relaxing, and waiting for Eon, to see if the man would come give the Vice Captain a hand.
"Oh look, little baby's reaching for his-" His words became cut off as he saw what the man was doing, hearing him shout out loudly.

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
