It was hot. Nice way to set the scene so lets leave it at that. the sun sat in the sky, blistering heat raining down onto the wasteland beneath it as though it was mad at the bits of sands that littered its soft touch. you would be stupid to wander this place in such a heat, but at the same time you;d also be praised as the man or woman who pretty much stood in a natural oven. Unless you had ways to cool yourself off, this place wasn't going to treat you to any luxury. But even though the sun was shining, the winds were picking up brilliantly and bringing a frosty chill with it. Reason for it, was the wind was travelling at speeds that cooled the temperature down rather than make it rise. So standing in this desert of a wasteland wasn't so bad after all. But you'd almost definitely get a sunburn. No doubt about it.

Moving away from the temperature, the blue sky was going to be viewing a spectacle today as a heavy boot slammed down into the sand below, splashing it into the air to be brought away by the wind. Luckily, the wind wasn't in the mood to lift the sand today so it remained rather clear for the eyes to look about. The odd dune every few yards looked slightly different to the rest, but nothing about this place was too special. The owner of this boot lifted his leg and continued his stride, slamming down again with his heavy soles of metal. the sound of the sand beneath his feet crunched, or was that maybe his teeth being ground into dust as he braved the heat.

This man hated hot weather. But on closer inspection you can tell that he was the one that chose to come here. His letter to a certain someone wasn't pulling any jokes when it said to come somewhere rather hot. Reason for it, was because he wanted to test his own mettle against the rays of the sun. However there was another reason: This place becomes very cold at night. That would help him a lot, but that wouldn't be turning up for another 30 minutes or so. The man could be seen at 6'4 and wearing his usual attire: blue jacket, Black jeans, Black chest plate and black boots. His hair spiked backwards in its popular pose and his face as sharp as ever, looking into the wind. This man was known everywhere for being both the most trustworthy, but also the least. His name was Rihiku hitsugaya, Older brother of Toshirou Hitsugaya and aptly nicknamed: The Frozen Betrayer. He lifted his hand to his eyes, looking a bit further before bringing his hands down and waiting.

This should be a viable spot... I'll just wait...

Now what Rihiku had done, was he heard some rumours. And those rumours hit Rihiku hard as he was always a man to prove himself. In the past, he took on a certain fire based captain: Poliro tensol. Their spar had to be cancelled as Rihiku was urgently needed back at base. He felt he would have been capable of defeating Poliro if he was able to continue. However, the day he was going to challenge the Flame Reaper again. another man appeared and took his stead. Poliro was defeated, and this man walked away the victor. Rihiku on that day both grinned and punched a hole in his table. he had to challenge this man and see just why he beat Poliro so easily. It was barely even a fight apparently. This made Rihikus spine tingle just thinking of facing a tough opponent. The hardest fight he had ever gone through was teaching Yoko what personal space was. This man though, this... Gilgamesh. He sounded exciting. So Rihiku wrote him a letter, rather formal but to the point and sent it off to the man. God knows if he received it or not actually. but Rihiku had nothing better to do today anyway. he stood in the sands and waited, arms folded. The letter he had written was as follows:

To Gilgamesh,
I have heard of your recent Triumph against one of the squad Captains, I'm sure you can recall which man I am referring to. This interests me. I wish to meet you some day. In fact, why don't we put our strength together and test our own mettle against one another. How does it sound? If my challenge takes your fancy, check the sand wastelands for a sign of life and you would have found me.

I shall remind you now, this is a duel, not a fight to kill one another. I am sure you can respect that. I look forward to seeing the man that can dispose of the Flame Reaper so easily.

~ Rihiku Hitsugaya

So that was his message and not too long either. It was written on the spur of the moment after all. He was a little too excited to care about his punctuation or if he sounded like he was actually talking to somebody through paper. Rihiku was a simple man, but at the same time more complex than a walrus made of rubber bands. Give or take, that's just who he was...

and so he waits...
