"Sigh." She raised a soft hand to the back of her head, scratching it lightly. This place... confused her. There was so much to be found here, inside this place of the Eighth Division. Unlike the Academy, which she had found to be... fun, interesting, playful... this place was a lot more serious to her. There were people bustling around like the Academy, but the feel here was, at least to her, definitely not the same, not at all. And you know what? She hated it already. At least, that was the half of it. The other half...
"Hey, Solas-san. Howsabout a date? You, me, romantic dinner?" Nope.
"Solas-sama~ Wanna go sight-seeing with me?" In your dreams.
"This rose is as beautiful as my love for you..." Oh, so poetic. Still no.
Yeah, there was the other half of her problem. Normally, most women wouldn't mind this sort of attention. However, Solas was one of those unusual cases. That unusual thing? Well, it could be explained in approximately... two words. Yes, there were two words that Solas spoke to every man who approached her with some form of love confession now. She would sigh softly, turn to them with a kind smile, open her eyes and speak.
"I'm gay." It was starting to get satisfying, now. Just seeing their hopes and dreams shatter. She stood there, watching as they all had the exact same reaction. First, they would stop for a second, just staring into space. Then, the realization would hit them. It took a second or two for that to happen, but it happened. When it hit them, she just watched the look on their face go from blank to decimated. Yes, decimated. Quite decimated, in fact. They'd sorta just wander off, not really walking, sorta floating with a look of the utmost gloom on their faces. Then... the next contestant came.
Now, what was she doing here again? Oh, yes. She needed to go and see... was it the Vice Captain? Or was it the Captain? Or was it the Third Seat? You know, she had studied most of this, it was just strange to her. She didn't really recall anything, except that the Captain was the strongest. Her unnamed Zanpakuto sat at her side, and she found herself... disliking it. Just because it was a sword, really. She'd never found herself that good with a sword, especially not in training as a Shinigami. She was more of a spear person. Spear, and hand-to-hand. Oh, yes. Despite everything, this girl was an expert in hand-to-hand combat.
Despite... her 5'2 frame. Yeah, most people were much taller than she was, so much so that she had to crane her neck up to look at them. It was such a frustration for this woman! She was going to be taller than all of them soon, she knew it! She would be taller! TALLER I TELL YOU!!!!!!
"TALLER!!!" ..did she just shout that out loud? They were looking at her funny, so that confirmed it. Solas resisted the urge to facepalm at her own idiocy, and instead just chose to continue on without thinking too hard about it. She'd continue walking, looking for where she was meant to go. One of her classmates was walking somewhere, so she would follow him. He knew where to go, right? Riiiiight?!

Re: First Day of Shinigami-hood

New recruits were coming in today; there was already talk among some of the members of the division about the new people. Most of the comments concerned the relative attractiveness of the female recruits; remnants of Shunsui’s presence in the division apparently. The aforementioned Captain had stepped down and out of the division for some down time, leaving room for someone else to move into the Captaincy; there was no shortage of pervy men all the same though in this division to make up for his absence, and no shortage of comparisons and hypotheticals concerning the incoming recruits. Of course some of these men did more than just talk, as they approached different female recruits with attempts to sweep them off their feet. Granted, not all of the conversations were centered on this. A few of the conversations were centered on the relative strength of the new recruits, the increased appearance of Hollows, and other matters that held more importance; these weren’t half as imaginative as the previously mentioned topic.
As the men conversed and some of them made passes at the women, a young Shinigami walked among the ranks, observing their behavior and making notes. This Shinigami looked young, as though he was barely seventeen or so, and had a head full of silver hair that he seemed to have let go, and it in turn had been unsure of what to do so it stayed quiet. This young, conspicuous Shinigami who looked barely older than Seventeen was the Eighth Division Vice-Captain, though many of the Division Members had either forgotten that or didn’t know. Not that he was doing anything to help that matter; he walked around currently without the Vice-Captain’s insignia around his arm, partly because he had forgotten it and partly because he had not cared when he did remember it. Besides, it was better to see how the members acted when they didn’t know a higher up was walking around; especially the newer members. Everyone always acted differently when a Captain, Vice-Captain, or even third seat was kicking around.
The young shingaimi vanished from sight all at once; he landed on the roof of the building and took a seat, watching the hustle and bustle of the introductions and so forth. Genpaku Arishima smiled as members floated around, getting the lay of the land if you will. From his vantage point he got to see the movement of members and the general number of recruits. Most had been female, which wasn’t surprising since someone had decided to recycle the old posters for the Divisional recruitment. After a while he noticed that one young woman in particular was getting a lot of attention from the male crowd, despite the fact that she apparently didn’t give much of it back. Beyond that though, he noticed the fact that she…well she seemed lost, and no one seemed to be doing a damn thing to help her. Most likely it was because they were all thinking with the wrong heads. He gave a sigh; this division had a lot of work to do. He stood up and vanished from sight once more. He landed softly on the ground below the building and made his way through the crowd.
”Excuse me Miss. You look lost; where are you trying to get to?” he asked politely when he got within hearing range, which had been a tad bit more difficult than he had counted on; there was a small crowd of men that seemed like they had just seen their dead mothers or something that was floating around, which made navigating the normally clear courtyard simple. The pair of Zanpaku-tous sat at his side; after the event of Ender’s invasion and such, he seldom went anywhere without them. He gave a friendly smile at her as he waited for an answer. She seemed nice enough, though a tad bit annoyed and certainly lost. He also noted several men who glared in his general direction when he approached; not that he really cared. He was simply trying to be a nice guy and help out someone who seemed lost in a new place. He remembered when he had first gotten into the Fifth Division; it was only because the Vice-Captain there had been so nice and helpful that he wasn’t perpetually lost in the damn thing. Seireitei was like that in general then again; so many of the alleyways and courtyards seemed the same…

”Excuse me Miss. You look lost; where are you trying to get to?” Now, this perfectly normal question was being filtered through the crowd of ne'er do wells, and into Solas' ears as a completely different statement. While most people would have heard it right, she was in the midst of so many different... love... statements...? Anyway, when this man spoke out to her, it somehow got scrambled up by all of thes guys that thought they had a chance, and arrived in her ears as ”Excuse me Miss. You look lost, are my pants where you're trying to get to?” She felt... well... she was rather annoyed. She turned STRAIGHT at the silver-haired man with a pair of blazing eyes and reached into the deepest parts of her lungs and opened her mouth and shouted out;
"WHATPARTOFIAMGAYDOYOUNOTUNDERSTAND?!" Silence. Utter... silence. She stood back, looking the astounded men around her, and then staring at the green-haired man, trying to process exactly what he had said to her. Wait... hold on. She stepped backwards, face bright red. Oh, crap. She had quite possibly just made a fool of herself in front of someone who didn't deserve any shit. She had to slow down and think about what he'd said... oh, damn. She knew what he'd said now. Gah. Stupid stupid stupid! Shaking her head slowly, Solas stepped backwards and looked up at him with an apologetic smile. At least her outburst had calmed the tides, and most of them had left. All that was left was this silver-haired young man, and as she proffered a kind smile, she tried to break the ice that she herself had decided to build up.
"I-I'm sorry. I've had a rough morning, and these chauvinists didn't help me at all." She laughed softly and reached a hand up behind her head, scratching purple locks with an embarrassed smile, and a small red tinge on her cheeks as she chuckled, bowing a little bit and then standing up straight, planting a fist on her chest and causing her own breasts to bounce a little from the motion, not that she noticed or minded.
"Solas Foiche, sir. It's my first day here!" She gave a confident huff, and stepped back straight to stare at him with kindness in the confident blue orbs.

Well…that wasn’t what he had expected. The young woman turned and roared a response that had absolutely nothing to do with his question, silencing most of the conversation in the vicinity. Genpaku, for his part, blinked once or twice at the outburst. A couple snickers cropped up after a few moments of silence as people went back to walking, talking, or doing whatever they had before said outburst. A few of them who knew who Genpaku was covered their faces with their palms before moving along. It took a moment before realization dawned on the girl’s face, dawned in bright red that was. Genpaku had to hold back a laugh at the look on the girls face, and he hid it well after a second. She launched into a proper apology; in her defense, it made sense.
”They usually don’t; better get used to it though, they’re everywhere,” he said, straight faced for a moment as though he was downright angry, before cracking back into a smile; the frown or anger didn’t look right on his face.
He certainly could see why she attracted the attention; she wasn’t hard on the eye, that was for sure. She gave her introduction with confidence ripe in her voice. Oh new recruits.
”A pleasure. Genpaku Arishima.” he said, and extended a hand for a hand shake.
”And I don’t think too many of the people who were here will be giving you much trouble after that proclamation,” he said with a chuckle. A few people nearby had resumed their glares with renewed fervor. Muttering cropped up among a group of men who had been wandering around listlessly only a few moments ago. This day was certainly starting interesting it seemed.
Genpaku shoved his hands into the pockets he had sown into his uniform, still smiling.
”So, while you gave an interesting answer, you didn’t answer the question I asked,” he pointed out jokingly. There were those that may have been angry at her outburst, and at one time Genpaku might well have been one of those. He had broken out of that shell though at this point. Besides, he’d prefer to be yelled out by an attractive girl than get roared at by the demons from Ender’s invasion all over again.

”They usually don’t; better get used to it though, they’re everywhere,” She shook her head and sighed. God. He was right. There were men like this everywhere, that was for certain. She blew a strand of air off of her face with a huff, and looked over to the side with a soft sigh. This place was rather frustrating, as were the people that surrounded her. However, she felt calmed by the white-haired man in front of her. At least... he wasn't trying to get into her goddamn pants.
”A pleasure. Genpaku Arishima.” She smiled. An interesting name, huh? Gen-pa-ku. Gen...pa....ku. She rolled it over in her imaginary tongue. That would be a fun name to say! She giggled softly, and stepped backwards, yawning a little. She tilted her head to the side, studying him a little more. ”And I don’t think too many of the people who were here will be giving you much trouble after that proclamation,” She reached a hand up and rubbed her forehead, scratching it with a small fingernail and sighing. That would certainly be good. She didn't want/need the attention. She wasn't even expecting to make Bankai, let alone Captain. So this attention off her was even better.
”So, while you gave an interesting answer, you didn’t answer the question I asked,” Hrn? What question was that? She thought back over the past few seconds, tapping her chin with a long finger and considering the thoughts that had occurred since then. Now, what was that question?
Excuse me Miss. You look lost, are my pants where you're trying to get to?” No, that was the wrong question. That was the one that had gotten her into trouble in the first place! Think, think, think! She felt like a bear on a log at this point, tapping her chin with a hand and a closed eye.
”Excuse me Miss. You look lost; where are you trying to get to?” Okay. That sounded better. She laughed softly, and stretched. Oookay. Now, where was she truing to get to? She scratched her head, and thought it over for a few seconds, that felt like minutes, hours, even.
"Okay, I'm looking for the Vice Captain, I believe. I didn't catch his name, but he was supposed to be around here, greeting new recruits..." She looked up at him through wide eyes, wondering. "You... wouldn't happen to know where he was, would you?"
She had no clue.

GENPAKU ARISHIMA
CHILD ANOMALY
VICE-CAPTAIN
OF THE
EIGHT DIVISION
CHILD ANOMALY
VICE-CAPTAIN
OF THE
EIGHT DIVISION
No clue indeed.
But Genpaku’s attentions had been split partially; the muttering behind them had grown, and his eyes glanced over a moment to notice the fact that group had grown. At least a dozen men stood around in a large, agitated group that was shooting glares at them. None of them looked familiar in the slightest; they must have all been new recruits. However, Solas had responded to his question finally.
He smiled at her.
“Actually, yeah I do. I-“ he began.
”Oi! Kid! Shut up and stop harassing the lady!” one of the men called out, stepping out of the group and starting towards him. The man was large, standing easily over six foot. However, the majority of his size seemed to be around his midsection. He seemed to possess an ego equal to his gut though, which was notable. And, as it always did, one man’s boldness inspired others; namely, the rest of the group that had been gathering around. Several of them started forward after the man, a few going for their Zanpaku-tou’s hilts. Solas would probably recognize them as several of the people she had turned down throughout the day.
Genpaku turned to look at the man as he started forward; the man didn’t seem to notice the group of people behind Gen that had started forward, or the fact that Gen gave them a signal and they obeyed. Whether or not Solas would notice he didn’t know or care. He gave a friendly smile to the approaching man.
“I honestly have no idea what you are talking about, sir,” Genpaku said with an innocent smile; there was a layer of sarcasm to his voice though.
“I was just answering her ques-“
”I said shut up!” the man roared, and lashed out with a punch aimed at Gen’s forehead; it connected.
Meanwhile, five of them men had slipped around through the crowd, and materialized behind Solas. One of them in particular, a tall skinny man with brown hair and unusually long limbs slipped up directly behind the short girl.
“Come on, Ojou-chan. It’s not safe here; we should go somewhere safe and out of the way,” he said as he wrapped his arms around her, his hands landing in a very particular pair of spots; he even gave a small squeeze, taking advantage of this most advantageous positioning. It was a great thing that Solas-chan was oh so tiny; the other four men closed in, as several members of the division were pushed away despite protest from the scene.
Meanwhile, the man who had lashed out at the young Shinigami smirked as he felt the punch connect, and even when the line of blood began to run down the young shinigami’s face…until he realized that Genpaku hadn’t moved when he had been struck. As he pulled his hand away, the blood continued to drip from his hand as he looked; at his fist he found a small cut on his knuckles. Genpaku reached up, wiping the blood off his face as he sized up his apparent opposition. Several of the long standing division members stopped, leaning back with smiles. Bets were being made. Oh what a fun day this would be, eh?
”That’s call backlash. It’s what happens when a weaker power hits a strong one. You really shouldn’t try punching me ya know, especially without an introduction,” Genpaku said good naturedly; maybe that was what pissed him off.
”SHUT THE FUCK UP KID!” the leader yelled as his hand wrapped around his Zanpaku-tou. Several of the older division members started forward once more, but Genpaku’s right foot slid back, holding out his hand to stop them. The leader drew his blade, swinging straight at Genpaku’s head. He brought his right hand up, catching the blade cleanly. However, there was a definite size and weight advantage; Genpaku slide along the ground a few inches. This guy…he certainly had a lot of physical strength behind his blows, but it wasn’t anything Genpaku couldn’t handle. He gave another smile as the leader looked, bug-eyed, at the young brat who had just stopped his sword short of its target.
That was when the rest of the jealous suitors rushed in; including the boss, there were seven to eight coming for him. Genpaku jumped as the first reached him, releasing the Boss’ sword as the other man swung at him. He stomped down, catching the blade below his feet and forcing the man down with the motion, his fist rushing into Genpaku’s waiting fist; one. He moved his left foot off the blade and to solid ground, using it as the pivot point as he brought his right leg up and struck out with a vicious roundhouse kick to the man he had just hit, lifting him from the ground and sending him directly into another one of the incoming attackers, sending them both along the ground for a few feet; two. His foot touched the ground and he jumped, striking out with his left leg straight into another attackers face. He began to fall to the ground, but was caught as Genpaku threw him judo style at the boss to keep him distracted.
This was where Genpaku backpedaled as several others got past the bodies, and swung their Zanpaku-tous at him. He had little to nothing to worry from their Zanpaku-tous, but they did; in such close quarters it would not be hard to redirect most of the blades into one another and cause serious injury, but that was not his aim. In fact, that would be counterproductive actually, even if they did deserve it. While the remaining three he could deal with at ease, there had been over a dozen standing around, but only seven had come for him. That mean the others had gone for the girl. As if to confirm that, a yell went up, followed by a decidedly male noise of pain. He spared a look in her direction; she seemed to have that situation under control. He turned back to his three pursuers.
He continued backwards as the three ran at him, forcing the crowd that had gathered to split to allow him through. One of them was faster than the others, and reached him first, swinging his Zanpaku-tou down at the young Shinigami. Genpaku stopped, taking a stance as he stepped forward with his left, catching the inside of the man’s arm and forcing it to the right slightly, the blade just missing Genpaku; at the same time, Genpaku’s left fist crashed into the man’s stomach, knocking the wind out of him as he bent over. Genpaku spied the second man, his Zanpaku-tou raised as he searched for the opening to swing. Genpaku gave him it, and as the blade came down he struck the man’s forearm with a punch, sending a shockwave through the man’s arm and stopping the swing.
Genpaku wasn’t done yet; his hand wrapped around the man’s wrist and pulled the man forward over his friend as Genpaku slipped under the first’s arm and around behind as he jumped up, his feet planting in the back of the second man. As Genpaku pulled, the two lost their balance, and he used them as a launch pad, releasing his hold on the second’s arm and launching both of them into the ground while he rose up, flipping backwards as the third and final man ran up. Genpaku’s left foot crashed down onto the man’s head in a clean kick he had not anticipated, and he toppled over a moment later. As Genpaku landed he shot forward as he displayed his natural speed, and landed a short punch to the back of the second man’s head, knocking him unconscious on top of the weakened and winded first; six men down.
Genpaku turned his sight back to the leader, who stood more or less where their confrontation had begun earlier, obviously a little more than stunned at the turn of events. In roughly 5 seconds, this child had dismantled 6 grown men. Speaking of that child, he was gone; Genpaku stopped his movement just before the man, standing there with a small smile on his face.
”So, I think you owe both myself, and Foiche-san an apology, Pride-san,” Genpaku said. This seemed only to piss the man off more, however; veins were popping out of his forehead, his teeth were grinding against one another, and his knuckles had gone write around his Zanpaku-tou. He let out a yell, and brought his blade up as though the second time he swung it would change. As it came crashing down, Genpaku caught the man’s arm with his left as his right first slammed into the man’s gut.
Genpaku pulled his fist back, yanking on the man’s arm to make him stumble forward a step before he brought his elbow into the man’s rib cage; normally, he wouldn’t have been so forceful with new members, but he had decided two things by this point; 1) this man needed to be taught respect and the only way it would get into his brain was to beat it into him, and 2) that he didn’t want this man in his division. He had bent his arm when he had swung with the elbow, and now extended it, the back fist slamming into the man’s sternum. He pulled down, dragging the big man down and forward a little more as he jumped, and sent a round house kick straight in the back of the man’s back, between his shoulder blades.
The man hit the ground hard, but found his arm still held tightly by the boy’s hand. Genpaku looked down at the man with an annoyed glare.
”Your disrespect for your superiors and especially you fellow Shinigami is detestable. Be happy that I have gone easy on you. Report to the 4th Division to get checked out, then to the 11th Division where I am transferring you; Zaraki-Taicho will straighten you out better than another captain,” he said before he released the man’s arm, allowing him to rise. He had turned back to continue his conversation with Solas when he heard the step in his direction.
”That was an order. Oh right, you don’t know who I am, do you?” he asked, turning to look at the man, who was halfway to bringing his blade up again. Genpaku stared him down with cold eyes.
”Vice-Captain of the Eighth Division, Genpaku Arishima. Knowing that, if you insist on coming at me again, I will make it a point to not go so easy this time around,” he said clearly. Fortunately for the man’s pride, he was saved from having to make the decision as several division members grabbed him, and started him off towards the 4th Division. Several others had already helped the others up and out.
Genpaku turned back to Solas, his eyes softening slightly as he smiled.
”So yeah, to answer your question, I do indeed know where the vice-captain is,” he said, and a child-like smile washed across his face.

“Actually, yeah I do. I-“
”Oi! Kid! Shut up and stop harassing the lady!” Eyah... such a frustration. Shaking her head slightly, Solas looked over at the man who had shouted out with a rather cold look in her blue orbs, tut-tutting silently as she watched the man approach this young man. Hrn. The group of brutes were starting to draw their zanpakuto as well? Yare, yare. That was such a frustration. Her zanpakuto was nothing special at the moment, since she was but a simple, non-seated member, however... she chuckled. She wasn't a fighter with her zanpakuto, not in any way. “I honestly have no idea what you are talking about, sir,” Even a baboon could've noticed the sarcasm in that statement. That said, we were talking about gorillas here, were we not? Therefore, stupider than baboons. So they didn't understand sarcasm. “I was just answering her ques-“ ”I said shut up!” ...that fucker just punched a kid. Wow. Did I say gorilla? There's something stupider than a gorilla, right? Riight?
“Come on, Ojou-chan. It’s not safe here; we should go somewhere safe and out of the way,” ...hands. Gripping her breasts. Hands. GRIPPING. HER BREASTS. That... that... a low and guttural growl left Solas' throat, and she spoke two words, ones that were plain and simple, without any real ambiguity behind them; "Hands. Off." Squeeze, squeeze. Oh, that was fucking it.
CLASHING SOULS
A confident grin flickered across the lips of the Shinigami, and she suddenly ducked down, sweeping around with a leg and colliding with her molester's own, knocking him down to the ground within a half-second. Before he had any chance to react, her foot had stepped into the area that a man would not like a foot to step in. Ignoring the scream of pain, Solas pushed off with that self-same foot and pushed forwards, pulling both arms back and shouting out, catching two men in the chests and dropping them to the ground as well, hitting their heads against a hard surface and knocking them out. Three down, two to go. Turning around slowly, ”SHUT THE FUCK UP KID!” Oooh, brutish. So scary. Rolling her eyes slightly, Solas took two steps forwards as the first of the men pulled out his zanpakuto and swung it haphazardly at her. Wow, that sucked. Ducking under the extremely easy-to-dodge attack, Solas slid slightly and grabbed his leg, pulling him down and towards her, before pushing forwards and headbutting him between the legs. She pulled away as he fell down, and grinned, "That's the closest my mouth will get to that, asshole." Standing up straighter, she almost didn't see the attack. Pity. If she hadn't seen it... he might have had a chance.
"Hado no Yon..." Pulling her fist back, Solas just did what came naturally, and planted the hand directly into the centre of his chest. "Byakurai." Without warning, her own energies began to move, and as the punch collided, a stream of electricity sprung forwards and was sent through his body. The man shouted out in pain and fell backwards, landing on top of the other two mooks. Solas calmly walked over to the three men on top of each other, and took a seat. Hm. Comfy. She laughed softly, and watched Genpaku's ending attack with a smirk on her face. So, he was a hakuda user as well, was he? Interesting kid. ”Your disrespect for your superiors and especially you fellow Shinigami is detestable. Be happy that I have gone easy on you. Report to the 4th Division to get checked out, then to the 11th Division where I am transferring you; Zaraki-Taicho will straighten you out better than another captain,” Oho... the Eleventh? She'd never be accepted into there, especially not with her own skills in Kidou. That, and the testosterone levels... they made her shudder.
”That was an order. Oh right, you don’t know who I am, do you?” An order? So this kid was special, was he? The man before him was already about to draw his blade. Psh. Stubborn as an ass, and stupider than a gorilla. The 11th would LOVE him. She found herself chuckling softly, before gasping. Yeah, she gasped. ”Vice-Captain of the Eighth Division, Genpaku Arishima. Knowing that, if you insist on coming at me again, I will make it a point to not go so easy this time around,”
"Vi-vi-vi-vi-vi-vice... Captain..." She finished her stutter as he turned back to her, smiling softly as he did so. ”So yeah, to answer your question, I do indeed know where the vice-captain is,” Hm. Yeah. She could kinda see that now. Chuckling herself, the woman of small stature rose from her throne of unconscious Shinigami and watched as they were ferried away from the halls. Psh. Men like that didn't deserve fair women. It was a fair trade, being taken to the place of testosterone and fight-hunger. "Yeah, I can kinda see that." She laughed softly, "Though, I still beat mine faster than you." She folded her arms and looked over to the side, huffing and pouting slightly.

GENPAKU ARISHIMA
CHILD ANOMALY
VICE-CAPTAIN
OF THE
EIGHT DIVISION
CHILD ANOMALY
VICE-CAPTAIN
OF THE
EIGHT DIVISION
Genpaku cracked a small smile; Foiche-san was certainly proud of her capabilities.
There was n problem with her having pride in what she was capable of; she had just dismantled four larger opponents with what appeared to be little to no visible effort. Regardless of how high she thought she would rise in the Gotei, Genpaku was already forming his own guess about how high she would rise; a seated position at the very least, and higher if she was talented. However, he kept this opinion to himself.
”I think I had a few more to deal with though. Call it a draw?” he gave her another smile with the comment. She was certainly skilled in Hakuda, since she had managed to incapacitate her opponents without drawing her Zanpaku-tou. The Seventh Division was one of the most rounded of the Gotei, so it was odd to see someone uniquely skilled in Hakuda here since usually the Second Division grabbed up anyone with promise in that field. Then again, there were special cases; he was a prime example. Aizen had snagged him up from the Academy, but the reasons why were never answered. All in the past now anyway.
”So, do you typically draw sucha…festive greeting when you gosomewhere new?” he asked with a pointed look and smirk.
”Be happy Kyouroku-Taicho is no longer Captain here, or else it would have been much, MUCH worse.”
Something else grabbed his attention for a moment, his gaze breaking form her and going over to the gate. One of the men who had been involved was struggling, shouting, and generally resisting the attempts from the members to take him away. That said, the others seemed to have it under control, so he didn’t bother going over to interfere. He turned his emerald gaze back to the young woman before him.
”So, anything I can help ya with? Any questions you think I might be able to answer for ya?
This was always an interesting exchange when he asked this of new members. He hadn’t been Vice-Captain all that long and yet he had heard some rather strange questions and requests, and had received answers as simple and brief as “no.” It was useful either way because it gave him a little insight into the members that joined the division, the kinds of men and woman who would be fighting by his side, an insight into just who he was dealing with. First impressions meant a lot in this kind of situation, and Genpaku had learned to read them as well as anyone. Though he would have to admit, getting a minor warm-up as a method of introduction in the manner he had just experienced was new to him. He had been challenged to fights by new members once or twice; they saw his young appearance and lithe build and assumed he was a pushover. They were usually sorely disappointed, and the fact that he was always such a polite person about it probably didn’t help.
