B A S I C I N F O R M A T I O N

Name: Toshi Rokku
Gender: Male
Age: Looks 25. Really 450.
Appearance: Physically- Toshi has dark brown hair that is spiked up wildly, similar to Toshiro Hitsugaya's with his bangs spiked out to the sides. The only difference is the back of his hair, which is cut short, unlike the little tail of hair Toshiro has. As for his facial features, Toshi has bright green irises, like the pedals of a lively flower. His skin is a normal Caucasian color, covering his muscled build. He is exactly 6' tall and weighs 190 pounds of muscle.
Attire- What Toshi wears is pretty typical for Shinigami. He is dressed in a black kimono that flares out at the bottom of the Japanese coat/dress near Toshi's ankles. This attire is shirtless, while under it, he wears a long sleeve white shirt that has rolled up sleeves up to his elbows. On his shoulders are cloth shoulder pads that are a a dark yellow, giving his kimono an almost tunic-like appearance. His yellow belt's knot tassels hang down to his ankles as well. For bottoms, he wears standard black, baggy cloth pants, which has its bottom cuffs tucked into white socks at Toshi's ankles. For shoes, his choice are black sandals with a yellow mid-sole. Finally, Toshi has a a black fedora placed on top of his head, that he wears only on the mortal plain. It has a shining, gold feather tucked on the right side, underneath a dark yellow band.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Personality:
Toshi is a strong-willed, hard-working man who never takes no as an answer. He loves to mess and tease his friends, which mainly includes Souru and Kuma. A joker, Toshi cracks really dumb, sometimes very biased jokes. Toshi can even be a little pervasive sometimes, but apologizes to the victim of his comments. As rude and ignorant Toshi can be, he can easily change his personality when in battle or in serious conversations to a respectful, loyal young man. After his father disappeared, Toshi became emotional whenever he saw children playing with their fathers. This is his weakness: Kimaru Rokku's face.
Toshi loves to drink, as he is very good at staying sober after fifty drinks. He has mastered the art of drinking, and can voluntarily change himself into a drunken man at his own will. For example, he can drink one beer and do a spot on impression of a drunk man without being drunk. Toshi is also an chain smoker. Furthermore, Toshi is a musician who has a deep, quiet side to his personality. So, when he is with friends, he is a prankster, when he is at a bar, he is a drunk, and when Toshi is fighting or playing music, he is quiet and aims for perfection.

B A C K G R O U N D

History/Background: Growing up, Toshi Rokku was the son of a wondrous musical genius, Kimaru Rokku. Kimaru loved his only son and brought him to every performance. Kimaru even taught Toshi how to play the guitar when he got old enough at the age of seven. Mr. Rokku also manufactured guitars and pianos. The company made millions of dollars, making the Rokku family very wealthy. As for the mother of Toshi, she was never around. After he was born, his mother left him right there in the medical room with a drunken father asleep outside the room. Toshi's mother burnt a cigarette into his dad's forehead, leaving him permanently scarred.
From there, Kimaru raised his son alone, teaching him never to be neglectful like his own mother. In fact, Kimaru was almost as neglectful as his spouse because while she was pregnant and getting sick, Kimaru was off on the road playing at big music shows. After Toshi turned ten, Kimaru told him that they were going to go on the biggest adventure to play at the biggest music theater in the world. Toshi got very excited, up until the day they were supposed to go to the theater. Mr. Rokku had disappeared the night before. The last memory Toshi had of his father was the smile on his face as he kissed his little son goodnight.
After his father was gone, Toshi took to the streets, playing guitar and collecting tips. He also worked at the local bar in Karakura City, busing dishes and cleaning tables. This is where he got addicted to cigarettes and possibly even some alcohol at a young age of 14. He stole all of these goods from his boss and took them to his little shack behind the bar. Sleeping outside caused Toshi to contract many sicknesses, but he could never treat himself because of his lack of money and relatives to care for him.
One night, Toshi Rokku, age 17, was behind the bar, drinking lots of liquor and smoking three packs of cigarettes, when a ghost came by. The ghost smiled at his discovery, which was a sick young man on the verge of death. After he would die, the ghostly spirit could corrupt Toshi and together the two could become strong evil spirits, or as many know them, Hollows. Of course, as a human, Toshi didn't see the spirit, as it waited for him to die. Rokku entered the bar he lived by and ordered more drinks, telling the bartender that he needed to keep drinking himself to sleep, which he did every night. The bartender refused to do so, firing the drunken, sick, and dirty boy who worked there. Furious, Toshi attempted to kill the bartender by throwing glass at him and trying to stab him with broken pieces.
A bunch of people in the bar attacked the grotesque boy, beating him until they thought he had passed out, which he hadn't. Toshi Rokku had finally been killed, dying with a beer in hand and a cigarette in his throat, burning his esophagus from the inside. Nobody bothered to take the young man to the morgue, so they just threw him in the dumpsters out back. Toshi's spirit was quickly approached by the evil Hollow that was watching him. The Hollow approached him, but it was quickly eliminated by a Shinigami, who was roaming around Earth. The Soul Reaper never revealed his identity, but he took Toshi to the Soul Society, reluctantly.
The savior Shinigami represented and defended Toshi, as he was rejected by the Soul Society for his behavior and actions on Earth. The Soul Reaper stuck a deal with the Society, telling them he would give his power and strength to whatever Toshi's Zanpakuto was. Toshi was utterly confused by all this, until the Shinigami, Iwaru, was sealed and fused inside Toshi Rokku's Zanpakuto, which was also sealed as his guitar.
From there on, Toshi was grateful of Iwaru's actions, giving him the position of a Shinigami. Now, Toshi is Shinigami, getting used to Iwaru and his new job. Along his journeys, Rokku has met a new Shinigami, Souru, and his Mod-Soul, Kuma.

Zanpakutô Spirit Name: Iwaru
Appearance: Iwaru, once being a Shinigami, wears a simple black robe, much like Ichigo's. The only slight difference, is the fact that Iwaru has a dark yellow belt, dark yellow trim and dark yellow lining. His sleeves are baggy, but much shorter than Ichigo's kimono. Iwaru has simple black sandals and yellow socks. Physical appearance wise, Iwaru is completely bald, but has a goatee, which is all white because of his old age of 57. Iwaru has dark brown eyes and very tanned skin. Finally, Iwaru keeps a necklace of a musical note, an eighth note to be exact, that he keeps with him at all time. He never tells Toshi why, but whenever Toshi goes into his Bankai state, the same, stainless steel eighth note hangs down from the bottom of his sword's hilt. Also, as for Iwaru, personality wise, he is very smart and intelligent. This is different from Toshi's joking and rude ways. Socially, Iwaru speaks only to a select few, that being mainly only Toshi himself.
Inner World: Inside Toshi Rokku's world, it is filled with endless sand dunes, and warm weather. The sky is constantly blue, filled with a shining sun. Clouds never come, nor rain. Iwaru sleeps inside a small tent at the top of a huge mountain in the center of the world. This mountain is the only mountain in the entire world,, and atop it is the only area that gets rained upon. This mountain is right under a single storm cloud that never leaves, but rains only sometimes. Iwaru is constantly trying to capture the rain, but he is always asleep during the storms. After entering this world for the first time, Iwaru and Toshi got lost in the endless desert, searching far and wide for the small mountain. From that day, the two of them have always had a huge rivalry. Toshi claimed that Iwaru got the two lost in the desert on purpose.

Sealed Zanpakutô Apperance : Toshi has a special sealed Zanpakuto, it being an acoustic guitar, with a special light colored oak body (which is in a classic guitar shape that is curved in on both right and left sides), fret board and neck. The strings are all a shining gold. The strap on it is black with dark yellow vinyls across it. The fret lines and inlays are all black, as well as the bridge and pins. The special thing is that the fret board can be detached from the body and neck, having the strings and neck be reeled inside the guitar's body while in combat. Then, the fret board becomes a long hilt, connected to a 20' silver katana blade (same length as guitar body.) Also, inside the body of the guitar is a couple flasks filled with hard liquor and several packs of cigarettes^^.
