Umeko Tsuineda, the Hishi-no-Buzoku

Personality: Umeko Tsuineda is a die-hard traditionalist with a great burden as the leader of the long surviving Tsuineda Quincy. She only sought the interest of her clan and downright reluctant to take alliance with other organizations who are known to be at war with another. Although her prime foe is the Hollow, she chose to only fight when her life is in danger, because she knows very well that if she fights, her spiritual pressure will become more obvious and would attract more enemies to her clan. However, it does not mean that she will not do what is necessary when it comes to time that she is needed. She definitely has the clan’s pride in her as she has a tendency of calling any Non-Tsuineda Quincy as “Ishida” Quincy and considered outsiders as not casually welcomed.

To her fellow Tsuineda Quincies, she is usually very graceful, although strict about her ruling. She treated others like her children and friends and elders while she sees herself as responsible for the further survival of the Tsuineda and it is expected of her to have a firm grasp about the philosophies of the Tsuineda Quincy and the capabilities they hold. Especially having the knowledge of how to rule over them. In rare cases, she would aid her clan’s old allies for a moment, but most of the time, she would be in the background, tending to her own business that does not involved fighting until she is under attack.

Tokyo University Graduate: Umeko earned her major degrees in Business and Medicine, allowing her to understand virtually everything there is to know about how hospitals and clinics work. She can also come up with ways to improve the finances without hindering the results.
Grand Champion Archer: Umeko appeared many times in archery tournaments held in Japan on national television broadcasts, fifteen out of twenty (15/20) times she won the tournament, earning her place in the Hall of Fame.
Spiritually Aware: Umeko can clearly see Hollows and other spirits like any other Quincy can.
Kyoto Shinto Priestess: Ever since she retired from archery tournaments and pursued a dual life as an investor/donator for medical clinics and hospitals and as a priestess who aided in ceremonies and festivals that are still traditional even to this day.
Strong Leader: Implying that she is capable of ruling on her own or she is just very stubborn, Umeko shown great leadership like her grandfather did, ensuring that the Tsuineda-Buzoku will survive.

Kaunta-Atakku Founder: Umeko was the original founder of the skill that made the Tsuineda Quincy able to reverse attacks at a greater magnitude and clear a field of reishi, removing effects like spiritual pressure. Due to her practice, she is clearly the only person who is the master of the Kaunta-Atakku technique.
Quincy Fundamentals: Umeko is still a Quincy and she held knowledge of the basics of being a Quincy, which included spirit arrows, Quincy flash step and tools specifically made for the Quincy.
Reishi Rejuvenation: Umeko used her reishi absorption technique to revitalize her body, allowing her to stay younger than she should have while still having her bodily functions as if she was still in her early adulthood.
Modified Quincy Bangle: The Ishida version of the bangle was made to amplified the effects of gathering reishi and manipulating them into a Quincy bow and spirit arrows. However, the Tsuineda used that knowledge to implement them to amplify their abilities involving Ginto, Seele Schneider and their own techniques, thus allowing them to be what they are, the Tsuineda Quincy. Destroying that bangle will result in the Tsuineda Quincy’s difficulty in using their abilities more effectively and efficiently. Meaning that without the bangle, the Tsuineda Quincy will be wasting more energy for little results.

This is what it looks like on the side, but on the front, it has a “X” shape twisted over each other for more strength and resistances. Fires like a regular bow, but it has a stronger launching force.

Background:
Umeko was born into the Tsuineda-Buzoku as the granddaughter of the Hishi-no-Buzoku, making her an Atotori. Throughout her childhood, she attended class in Karakura and in her own clan, each for a different set of skills. Although her outfit varied between a red ball gown and the Karakura High School uniform, she is a recognizable figure for the clan and her school. She was receiving high marks throughout her scholarly career as a student while earning special lessons in being a Tsuineda Quincy. With a high grade point average, Umeko attended Tokyo University to specialize in Business and Medicine while earning her tuition funding from her family’s investments in the hospitals and clinics in Japan and her championship prize in archery tournaments. She even went to Karakura Hospital to work as an intern.

Few years later, she began having investments into Japan’s Medical Industry. The investment payback was slow at the start, but it grew quickly, allowing her long surviving clan the funding for materials needed for their crafts. Tragedy struck the clan as their Hishi-no-Buzoku was murdered in Tokyo by the Yakuza who sought to control the clan. However, they met their end by a team of Tsuineda-Buzoku’s Seigyoki. Umeko was crowned as the Hishi-no-Buzoku. From there onward, her ruling seemed stable, but not all Tsuineda Memba-zu are loyal to her.
