Winds of Change
Thu Jun 16, 2011 4:17 am
His blue eyes watched as the sand was kicked up lightly by a rush of dry wind in the endless desert, the realm of Hueco Mundo where his kind had been born and thrived. Even at this distance Los Noches towered over the landscape, a lasting testament to the incursion of Aizen Sousuke and the failed war he had attempted to wage. That was the past, his past as much as the landscape’s itself, and had only limited bearing on the course that Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez now chose to take. Which path that was exactly was what he now contemplated on. He sat on a rocky outcropping, the same he had been on when he had encountered Ulquiorra for the first time in 400 years. All around him the debris of that fight still lay, the ground littered with craters and gashes, wounds left on the face of Hueco Mundo if even for a few moments in the grand scheme of things, if only for weeks of normal time.
A meeting with the current “ruler of Hueco Mundo”, the Cero Espada had altered the blue haired Arrancar’s plans, and now he was forced to stop and think; something that at one time would have been uncharacteristic of him. However, his impatience had been tempered by the knowledge that he had all the time in the world. He had begun to enjoy his little spar with the Cero Espada…until she had suddenly fallen asleep on her feet. Well, fainted really but all the same. She had perked his interest however; he had taken her back to Los Noches, a place had not returned too since his departure from the original Espada, Aizen’s Espada. He used the opportunity to nab a weaker arrancar that had been in the area, allied with the Nuevo Espada, and had ‘acquired’ some information.
One such piece of that information was the fact that several of his fellow former Espada members had turned up, quite recently, much more alive than originally believed; and they had tossed their lots back in with this Nuevo Espada. He had never pretended to understand all of the Espada, their motivations, or anything like that. The question that sat heavily upon his mind was what exactly he could use this Nuevo Espada for, if he decided to attempt to follow suit. There were some benefits to be sure, but were they enough? In 400 years, he had found that he operated quite well as a loner; unfettered by the whims of others he had grown into one of the stronger Arrancar in Hueco Mundo at this point; but was there more he could attain. He had been offered a chance to join a new group not long ago, but the arrancar who had begun that work had all but vanished from the face of existence, exactly as she had appeared. Perhaps she had sunk back into the sands, or vanished into the wind, but the end result was the she was gone, and he alone once more.
He sat there for a while yet, the silence comforting in its own way as it was for most of the inhabitants of Hueco Mundo. He could feel it in his bones; something else was beginning to go down, something large. He had felt a similar feeling shortly before he was recruited by Aizen for the man’s war. What exactly that event was or who it would involve was obviously beyond him, but he had a feeling that the decision would make itself as it did then in a way; he would simply have to keep his eyes open for it, and be prepared. He remained sitting there for the moment, relaxed like the cat from whom his name and release took their appearances from; seemingly lazy and slow but speaking of the power that came with the animal.

~ There's Nothing More Satisfying than drinking the blood of those that have fallen ~
{ B E G I N }
The girl shot up into a sitting position, gasping for air and sweating all over. She looked around the room to find herself in the medical ward of Las Noches. How the hell did she end up here? Suddenly, a sharp pain in her left hand took her attention as she lifted it to her face to see it wrapped in bandages. the girl quickly grabbed the bandage and tore it off without thinking of her own safety to see a huge hole in her hand where she had previously shunted her sword through. Looking at it, the girl started to cough and hold it to the side so she couldn't see it. But after a moment of coughs, she looked over to the door into the room.
How did I run out so quickly?... ugh
She swung her legs around, booting the sheets from her body and landing on her bare feet. She was also wearing a white set of clothes similar to the normal Arrancar uniform but with bandages on. This uniform was actually her old gear before she was cero espada. It was small, so only her bust was covered and her waist, almost like really short shorts and a very short jacket. in fact, she looked like Lilynette.
Why the hell am I wearing this?
but then she remembered. Once she said to the medical ward 'if she ever fainted from blood loss, put her in her special reattainment gear she used to wear as it helps circulate herself into recovery. the girl sighed before walking towards a wardrobe where she found nothing but thigh length boots, yet again more of her old gear. She grinned, and stepped into them, almost feeling young again.
Ok... i need to find someone quick...
the girl walked to the door and as she went to open it, found it was already being opened by an arrancar on the other side. They looked at her, shocked she was up and huddled behind the clipboard they were holding. The girl grinned, apologised, then pulled the other persons arm clean off. They let out a scream as the girl held onto the gushing arm, dangling above her head so the blood dripped onto her face. She held out her tongue to collect as much of the pouring blood as she could and drank it. Suddenly from this, the hole in her hand regenerated to its perfect smooth form again. She threw the now bone dry arm back to the person she took it from and walked off, drenched in red.
Clean yourself up and get a new arm, that didn't taste very nice...
Strangely, the other person just nodded and ran off. This was no surprise as the girl they would be talking to was this threatening. She was the cero espada after all: Ashlei Clixx. her white uniform was now drenched red, just the way she liked it as she stepped through a door and out into the dark world of hueco Mundo. there was somebody out here she needed to find. They had a fight earlier and she fell early, so she never got to say what she needed to. looking around, she couldn't see where he was, but a sudden voice in Ashleis head gave her a hint.
'Located, Grimmjow Jeagerjaques, south of your position'
Thank you Lucy
After speaking, Ashlei suddenly disappeared, leaving just a crack in the floor where she was just standing. Within a matter of seconds and guidance from Lucy, the mechanised human, Ashlei located the man she sought for. he was on his own in the desert as usual, and Ashlei was now standing above him in the air by about 10m. She would be noticeable if he just tilted his head up a few degrees. however she needed to make sure he could actually tell she was there, so she spoke in a louder tone than her normal soft voice.
Hey! Jeagerjaques... mind if we have another talk? hehe....

Grimmjow felt a pressure, far off at first and then suddenly close by. He wasn’t particularly worried about it either; he recognized it from before. It stopped above him, and within a moment more Ashlei has spoken, calling out to him and asking for another talk. A smirk played across the arrancar’s features as he stood up, hands slipping into his pockets as he tilted his head back to take in the Cero Espada.
”Depends; you going to fall asleep again?” he called out to her. Most beings within Hueco Mundo would probably have been scared or at least cautious of this being. Then again, this was Grimmjow Jagerjaquez we’re talking about; the only Arrancar to openly defy Aizen Sosuke.
His gut told him his previous assumption was correct; something big was about to go down, and he just may get a piece of the action yet.
”So what did you want, Cero Espada? You never quite got to that point last time we ‘talk’,” he called out, not bothering to jump into the air to join her. She was dressed quite differently this time around, and that was definitely blood hanging around on her clothing. He could smell the coppery twang that accompanied the substance, and the primal part of him savored the smell.
By now, Grimmjow’s appearance had improved; the wounds he had suffered from whatever fight he had been in before his scuffle with Ashlei had finished healing, though there were still some burns on his clothes in places, not that he cared. He waited for Ashlei to answer his question and pose hers; hopefully, this would liven up the day some more. Otherwise, he might fall asleep from boredom.

Ashlei stood in the air above the panther king, staring down at the man wearing a costume that didn't really benefit her Cero Espada type. of course she was proper mental and had the freakiest clothing style, but to be honest her get up today was a half naked fetish she barely showed anyone. She could see that Grimmjow wasn't bothered by her appearance which wasn't surprising. She embarrassed herself in front of the guy last time by running out of blood. She wasn't tanked up enough when she entered the fight.
She then noticed Grimmjow smile. that kind of smile played by the devil when he realised somebody just stepped into their realm. Ashlei wasn't scared though, she was excited. Grimmjow was a very interesting man and she wanted to abuse every inch of his power for her own cause. However, she couldn't approach him that way could she?
Grimmjow stood up. The at least showed that she had his attention. the attention of the panther was hers so she could prise his looks away from him. This really was the full brunt of the Cero Espadas mind. She looked at him as he tilted his head up to look at her. She then smiled back with that grin that wouldn't fit on her face if she wasn't a devil. he then asked a question, almost mocking her. Ashlei merely laughed.
You got lucky Kitty, I merely ran out of blood... you won't be seeing me do that any time soon...
Ashlei laughed louder. Grimmjow didn't frighten her. Why the hell should she be scared of a dying cat? She was the frikin Cero Espada! She could do whatever the hell she wanted! But then Grimmjow talked once more. He wanted to know what she wanted with him. That was plain simple and she spouted out her proposal.
Grimmjow Jeagerjaques... I know you better than you might think. I need you to come back to Las Noches with me...
Ashlei looked serious now. Her laughter had all but disappeared yet she stared with intent to kill if he declined her offer. This cat needed to be taught who his master really was. if he came quietly then she would give him his toy mouse to play with as a seated Espada. if not, then he could be thrown out of a window to see just how many lives his reflexes could survive in the fall.

Ashlei answered his question simply enough, but her tone and word use irked him slightly. She made it readily apparent that she was looking down on him, and not just because she was standing in the air above him. She gave her reason for feinting during their previous encounter, and made a promise that he’d not be seeing that happen again. She implied he’d be seeing her more often with that that statement as well. She answered his questions after laughing. He raised an eyebrow at her response.
He had not missed the change in her; her joking had vanished as quickly as a desert storm, and was replaced by a dead seriousness and pointed glare. This was no request, it was a demand, and it was obvious what the result would be if he declined. She was underestimating him, despite supposedly knowing a great deal about him. Was she purposefully pressing buttons that she knew would force him into a fight? Was she seeking to draw him into conflict to test him or something? Based on what her reply had been, it seemed strange. She had already decided to recruit him only to test him afterward? And what exactly was he being recruited for?
The smirk that had been on the panther arrancar’s features had vanished by now, replaced with his own serious look as he sized up the Cero Espada. He had gained a lot of information from the sniveling worm that had come outside to collect her; she was supposedly freakishly strong, twisted in the head, and demented. She was the single strongest being in Hueco Mundo the arrancar had said. He didn’t doubt that she was at least one of the strongest beings in Hueco Mundo, for her to keep her position. She had powers that used and manipulated Blood, namely her own as far as he could tell. He contemplated moving back to where they had left off previously.
”Why?” was his simple response. She wanted him to return to Los Noches, but for what purpose? He was not interested in some game of come and then we’ll talk. He wanted to know what he was getting into this time. He had joined Aizen because it had been a path to power; what exactly did she offer him? What would he gain? What would he lose, more importantly? His freedom was something he enjoyed, being able to attack who he wanted, kill what he wanted, and do whatever else he wanted.
”What are you planning?”
These types always had a plan; something they wanted to achieve and needed others to help with. He had learned that the hard way with Aizen. He had been a pawn to be moved around a chess board before, and he was not exactly interested in stepping into that position again. Beyond that, he had grown stronger since then, as Ulquiorra had found out first hand. Those that underestimated his power because of the stories from the Winter War would have that change carved into their bodies.

Ashlei always found this guy interesting since the day she picked up that espada handbook from the old library before she renovated the thing into her new one. It had the information on the previous espada all up to this date, secretly written without them even realising they were being spied on. Ashlei even does this now to get data from people that otherwise wouldn't tell her a thing. Grimmjow was such a man with a stubborn face to match his tedious wit. Ashlei wanted to toy with him to see how far she could push the panther into her cage. However, this wasn't going to win him over to her cause if she merely insulted his every feature. Instead, she needed to take a softer approach.
Grim... you seem like somebody that could easily erase whatever prey he was after. The kind of panther...
Ashlei sonido'd out of the air to appear right in front of the man, almost in a seducing pose as she could potentially lean on his chest to look into his eyes. From what she knew, he would probably step back from this or even lash out for touching him. Who knows, but she will see when she finished her sentence. she softly moved her lips to say her next line.
...I'd love to get to know...
She wouldn't hold this for long though as she dropped the act and turned her back to him whilst stepping away, thinking she was better than him just through body language. her appearance would probably make Grimmjow feel uneasy and her actions even more so. But that wasn't the point. She needed him to join her. If he went with another group, even one that was allied to her things could get out of hand. She can't have any risk of losing such an asset to the other side.
So what do you think? I'm sure you'd be fine with coming home with me...
Ashlei was still facing away from him, taking steps away slowly until she was somewhat of a distance away. She then stopped as she got an idea. Maybe this would perk his interest even more? She spun around with a somewhat pleased look and rushed her hair out of her face from turning too hard in the sand. She then spoke as though what she was saying was no big deal.
Of course Uluqiorra is dying to meet you again after that little ruckus i heard you two caused...

Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez
The Azure Panther
____________________________________
-{DON'T INTERRUPT THE HUNT}-
That gave him some room to work with, all the same; it was more than he had figured out a minute ago. This was the single most underestimated thing about the Azure Panther; people believed he didn’t pick up on small details like these that they passed him by. The fact that he didn’t comment on them meant little; he acted on them instead.
“You are amazingly good…at avoiding my question,” he commented as she turned from him, slowly walking as she spoke another line. By now though, he was growing rather tired of these lines, dancing around the issue at hand and all.
Joining the Nuevo Espada had certain advantages to it that he could not ignore; an organization like that would attract a lot of attention, and not just attention from cannon fodder but from strong opponents. That suited him; it would draw enemies like a flame with moths, and he would not have a shortage of entertainment. However, there were disadvantages; beyond even that, she had not answered a single question he had posed. She made a comment about Ulquiorra; he had joined up with her? That didn’t surprise him much, actually.
Grimmjow gave a small sigh.
”Cero Espada, let’s cut the crap already. You say you would like me to join, but what for? Surely you don’t want to sit and have tea. What do I have to gain from joining you, besides not having to deal with your anger?” he said, fully aware of not only what he was saying but to whom he was speaking. All the same, his face displayed nothing more than slight annoyance. She had been the one to move to a serious discussion, and honestly he wanted this done with so he could either go and find himself something to do or go pick himself out a room to take a nap in. This particular cat had grown much smarter in four hundred years.
Sure, the Cero Espada was looking down on him, and trying to drag him into being a pawn in some game he didn’t know of. Then again, he had things to gain from her, and she him. There was no reason this could not be worked out sensibly. He would have all the time in the world for all the violence he wanted. For now, he waited on a reply.

Ashlei didn't stop being her natural self as she only listened to the bits Grimmjow said that she wanted to hear. He seemed as though he was thinking a lot and that was good. She didn't want him to just punt his way into a position. That would be pretty fun to watch though if Grimmjow would have to fight the entire Viejo just to join. At least it would provide her with some evening entertainment but at this point she had no reason to kill anybody for a laugh. Unless it was maybe a passer by. But then as she had that shoot through her head, she heard the first part of Grimmjow sentence before noticing a small Hollow lizard peak up through the sand underneath her. Literally, in between each of her feet and she was wearing a very revealing outfit. The lizard stuck its tongue out and back in as lizards do but Ashlei took it the wrong way. She misheard Grimmjows first sentence as she raised her heel and slammed it down onto this perverted lizard Hollow creating a nice flower affect on the floor. This being made of blood of course.
Ashlei giggled as the splat was actually rather big and she found this great. Her killer instinct was always on fire, but now she was pretty much ignoring her guest entirely. She looked up and saw he was still talking. God he was still moving!? Wait she didn't want to think that at this point. She stood back up straight and put her arms on her sides.
Why don't you cut the crap and come follow me already. Lizards are starting to peer up my skirt from below. Im sure you don't get that sort of paranoid feeling with those damn pants of yours.
Ashlei smiled at her bad pun, it wouldn't please the panther at all but who cares. It's just how she liked to toy with people. But she needed to bring to the table a better front, show him that she wasn't a complete idiot that didn't give a damn.
Grimmjow, I;m sure you out of everyone here in Hueco Mundo understand that a group needs powerful members to stay strong and be at the top. I plan to remove every piece of crap on this world that doesn't bow to me and the Espada. That includes any Arrancar that doesn't follow my path. It's up to you, do you want to follow me and crush the Shinigami, the Quincy, the Iramasha people, those possessed Ziamichi, the Vizards and even the Demon race? It's a long question to get through your thick skull, but I need the forces to complete my dream of ruling this reality. Isn't that what you were trying to prove oh so long ago... Grimmjow? Your not that weak are you?...
She pretty much answered his question with more questions being ever so smart and avoiding his questions yet again. However what she said was not a lie. She wanted to rule the universe and destroy everything but needed an army to do so. This entire dream was brought up to her through all those years of suffering, watching her own men die in her hands, her own mother abandoning her, to face the reality that life is a bitch and she had simply cried her way through it like a child. Not now... she was going to fight back and she wanted help. She can;t do it alone. Ashlei raised her right hand towards Grimmjow.
I may not make any sense to you, but I'm asking for your help... will you help me?...
There she goes again... the cute card...
