Squad 6 barracks hadn't changed much since older times when things turned for the worst in the Sereitei. After Aizen betrayed the SHinigami and fled to Hueco Mundo, the sereitei fell silent until the stubborn Kurosaki defeated the mana dn all was returned to peace again. then all this stuff happened and it is now 2410 today.
One of the girls that had helped Kurosaki in his journey had a special surprise today for the man that owned this building. It was likely he already knew but she wanted to tell him in person In case he didn't know and also to see if he would accept it or not. The girl in question was the much younger sister of the Captain Kuchiki here. She was known as Rukia Kuchiki, an adopted child into the noble family and wouldn't fit in better anywhere else. In the past, she was very plain and simple with black hair and her garbs matching as though she was made to just be dull.
Now though, she was a new woman and 400 years older than that time. She walked down the corridor of squad 6 to her older brothers office. Here, she knocked on the door with the back of her hand a few times and waited for a reply. The girl made no noise, as she knew he could be very busy and didn't want to interrupt him so abruptly.

Byakuya Kuchiki
"Regardless of who or what they are, anyone who disturbs Soul Society will be cut down."
[~E N T E R P O S T~]
All was silent. It wasn't really that unusual for the 6th division though, by this time many of their members were asleep ready for another day of work tomorrow. Not Byakuya though. He was always like this, staying up and finishing off the paperwork that he was overloaded with. The moonlight shown through the window, the soft light pressing against his skin. This was the weather Byakuya liked. However, he was somewhat enjoying the silence. To Byakuya, silence was the only thing that gave him peace. His kenseikan was neatly placed in his hair, his 6th division haori hanging over the top of his shinigami shihakusho.
The new era, it wasn't all as calm as most people would think. Byakuya constantly thought about the dangers these new races, even the revival of the arrancar and how dangerous they could be. Many, many attacks were brought forward, but he felt it in his bones... something worse was soon to come. He was sure of it. Suddenly, Byakuya jerked his head around, switching his attention towards the few knocks on the door. Looking back down at his work, he finished writing what he was up to before standing up and walking over. As he opened it, he wandered who the hell would be up this late? It was even to late for Byakuya. As he opened, he was caught by some sought of surprise when he realized it was Rukia.
"R-Rukia? What are you doing here?"
His voice sounded somewhat shocked, it wasn't that obvious but there was a clear stutter when he said Rukia. Normally, the 6th division captain wouldn't be so surprised but lately he barely saw any of his sister. Honestly, he had matured so much, it was crazy. Looking at her from head to toe, he smiled a bit before chocking it down with his usual emotionless look. Yep, his sister was becoming stronger. Especially now that she was vice-captain. Looking back into her eyes, he said softly,
"Come in."

Rukia waited to see the door quickly open and wasn't surprised by who she found standing there. After all, it was her older brother she had come to find and talk to about a pretty important topic he was probably already aware of. Rukia smiled as she saw him stand there looking a little shocked himself. Did he not know? Rukia stepped into the room and followed Byakuya before she turned to him.
"have you heard Nii-sama?"
Rukia still called Byakuya her older brother. She could choose to call him Kuchiki-Taicho but they were not the same as any other Captain and Vice captain. After all, Rukia was his sister. Rukia looked at him without taking that grin off her face and spoke once more.
"I have been transfered to your squad."
She giggled a little bit because she was happy and also thought it would surprise her older brother with this news. Previously, Renji would be standing here but he was gone now so she could take over.
"Im your new Vice Captain Nii-sama"

Byakuya had turned his body away and started to walk slowly back to his chair. He had barely seen much of her, why now? It didn't really matter but he was still curious as ever. Byakuya had been so caught up in his paper work and dealing with new recruits, he barely had anytime to deal with his own squad and looking for a vice-captain, that was last on his list. As he went a seat he gestured towards Rukia as if to say you can have a seat right here. As she spoke, it came as somewhat of a surprise. Heard what news? Normally Byakuya would be the first one to know.
"Transferred to my squad?"
As he was about to take a seat, he stopped and stood up straight. No arch in his back what so ever. He was curious though, Rukia had been transfered to his squad and he wasn't even told about it, typical. The 6th division captain looked up, one bit of hair dangling down over his face as covering his left eye with a single strand. Within a flick, it disappeared back up into his long black hair. As the next words came from her mouth, he was once again shocked but was happy to hear it this time. However, as he talked he still kept his nonchalant attitude and before walking up to her and placing his hand upon her shoulder.
"May you do the Kuchiki's proud. If anything should happen, I want to tell you right now I give my seat as captain to you."
At heart, he was screaming in joy. On the outside, he was normal not even holding a smile. It was just the way he was, kept all his emotions bottled up inside of his slim body and never let them burst. It could actually be considered a rather good attribute or talent to most people. To Byakuya it was just the way he went about life.

Rukia was certainly pleased that he had accepted her into his ranks. There was a moment there where she slightly froze because he may have gotten angry but he was the last person alive that she could possibly make mad. Relieved that he didn't start blowing steam, Rukia let out a relaxed gasp of air then then smiled again but hadn't noticed he was now standing in front of her with his hand on her shoulder.
"Nii-sama...?"
He spoke words she didn't want to hear. Why should anything like that happen to Byakuya? As the vice captain and being herself, Rukia would be the one to lay down her life if it meant her Brother could live on. But even if she were top say that, he would ignore what she said and tell her not to be so foolish so she just listened but her grin moved away replaced by a straight smile.
"Your not going anywhere though are you? nothings happening right?"
Of course Rukia would get a bit worried as though he was foreshadowing something that was going to happen soon. if it did, she would be there to stop it.

Byakuya Kuchiki
"Regardless of who or what they are, anyone who disturbs Soul Society will be cut down."

Upon finishing his sentence, he lowered his hand back down to his side. He was happy, one of his family members making themselves to high in the world. His sister especially. However, he was still kind of shocked that she was moved to his division to be vice-captain, some people could assume he was being bias because it is his sister. Byakuya didn't really care, after all no one really had the nerve to say such things to his face. If they said it behind his back, well that wasn't his problem. His hands were draped down by his sides, not aiming to do anything in particular, upon noticing what he said could be a bit worrying to the person who heard it.
"Nothing will happen. I just wanted you to know..."
His voice was cold and dim, almost like his words were lifeless. However, this was how he normally talked so it was no different to anyone on the receiving end. Slowly, the 6th division captain placed his hands in his pockets and looked Rukia deeply into her eyes. His slate grey eyes penetrating into her eyes, giving a sense of well-being and everything is fine, just to re-assure her. He began to walk towards the door of his office, pressing his warm hand upon the handle and turning it slightly so it just opened. The wind from outside blew through, sending Byakuya's hair wild for a bit. He turned to face Rukia, still holding his hands in his pockets.
"Care for a walk?"
Despite it being late and most other shinigami were in bed at the moment, he was determined to talk with Rukia a bit more. After all, he had never really spent much time with her over the past few months... let alone, ever. Of course Byakuya wasn't going to go anywhere. He wasn't that type of man just to throw away his life or his position because he couldn't be bothered anymore. It just wasn't the type of person he was.
