Will Based Skills

Lately it has come to my attention that all forms of combat are extended at a physical format only. Basically, punches, kicks, KAMEHAMEHA WAVES THAT BLOW OFF LIMBS...

Everything is on a physical demeaning level. So then I thought, what about will based powers/effects. What this means is for example, lets say you have a headache and your fighting. Now in real life when you have a headache and you try to run, that headache pulses and light is sensative making you feel misable correct? Well that is a low based will power, meaning you are effected by non physical demeanors. Poisoned? A poison that causes you to vomit? Would you still be able to thrust your sword while your diaphram forces you to convulse and throw up every 5 minutes?

I wanna see something new, so I wanted to see about the implimentation of Will power. Would your character be able to fight with a headache? Would your character be able to take the pain they've suffered and fight on? Would your character be able to take a dream and know it isn't reality? I want this added to the generic skill sheet. Beginning will power would mean that the character can easily be effected by headaches and dreams and whatnot, where mastered will power will mean such actions will have a low effect. We can discuss this further to improve it's potential, but I wanna expand from physical combat and I wanna enter mental/emotion combat soon!

The entire will thing taps into mind control, since it is all about resisting/ overriding emotions and sensations. If this were to be approved, that would induce people to utilize mind control, which is a banned power on here. Sure, will could be used in terms of enduring pain or fighting to one's best, regardless of what ailments or pain surges through their veins, but then it welcomes powers that are not supposed to be made on here. This is dangerous ground that is being treaded on, and lest a good amount of effort is put into explaining the limits and abilities of willpower, it is best not to include it at all.

Then we make sure that our App checkers are aware of the banned power, so that way, those with other effects like Mikoto who gives headaches, and performs effective illusions can stand a chance in a good fight. I want to see things other than pure physical combat. I wanna start seeing other things like succubai that can lure people in with lustful powers, and that all depends on Will. If they got a weak will, then they will be prone to striking them down, whereas those with a powerful will can look passed it easily.

We make clear of banned powers through will, and we give it a shot. A whole new world of combat and strategy is just within our grasp...

Honestly.. I definitely agree with Moose. A will power stat could be easily implemented and it would help decide who could be easily baited or manipulated and who wouldn't be. I don't know how you guys are about illusions..but if they are already allowed.. this skill would be absolutely nessicary to determine if it was successful or not.

I also need to point out that with an ability like Dark Pulse a will stat would be required for them to not simply rip their own cloths off and pounce the person using it and trying to fuck them. Another instance where having a will stat is useful :3

In Conclusion.. MAKE A DAMN WILL STAT. That is all :3 hehe..

After discussing this with Frost, we could break down Will power into 4 subsections, thus there will be 3 Skill Trees.

A Racial skill tree, a Generic Skill Tree, and lastly a Will Power skill tree. The will power tree would hold the following:

Tolerance to Pain: Do you suffer strongly under pain, or are you resistant to it's effects?

Distraction Resistance: Are you easily distracted or well focused?

Volnerable to Illness; Can you suffer under poisons are tolerant of them?

Knowing of Reality: Aware of dreaming or not?

The last one is somewhat cautious, but with Mikoto's ability called Madness where she drags an opponent into a dream world and she tortures them for three days could very will define this stat. If someone was weak to reality, the could suffer long and hard, so they could spill their secrets, and even when returned into reality, they would be suffering that pain, but if they've mastered their understanding of reality, then the effect would be close to useless, as the same with Twisted Fantasy by Claire...

Anyone else see the amazing possibilities with this??

Well, i honestly think this is a neat idea, it gives a more realistic feel to the rp, and would allow a better counter to illusions, should they arise in a situation. or any mind control. I say that if you have this really planned out, then i don't have a problem with it. It doesn't seem like it will affect anything too much, as long as it doesn't run into what raen said, then i can dig this.

Well, I think we can get around mind control seeing as that is something a bit out of our reach, but still looking into illusions/dreams that can now become a possibility!
